Unattatching from my thoughts and changing my self talk...always have looked outside myself for validation and comfort...never thought of self care being enough...
1. Be kind to yourself at hard times. Positive self talk. 2. We are the thinkers of our thoughts. 3. Realize that life is hard. Instead of asking why me, ask why not me? Acknowledge that you are human being and life is not easy. So I am not gonna give up, everything is temporary. Sometimes it is hard and sometimes it is not. Just accept that. 4. Take responsibility for your choices. Look at the situations in your life and see how many things are there that are your responsibility and how much are optional. Some things are must to do for survival. But there is a lot of stuff we are putting on our plate that is in our mind and not necessary. Take responsibility of only those things that matter. Make choices. Choose to do things that matter. 5. Step out of your comfort zone. Stop waiting to not feel scared. It's not like from going 0 to 1000, but let yourself be a little bit uncomfortable. A lot of stress is traumatizing. But do something to grow. Comfort zones are only perceptions of threat. You won't die. Step out. 6. Speaking of failure. Change your perception about failure. Ask yourself why you fear failure so much. Change your meaning of failing. 7. Giving up is not an option. If you decide that it is what you preferred then don't let yourself stop because of fear or self doubt. 8. Stop looking for shortcuts. There is no easy button for anything. No magic solution. We don't actually do the work and deal with the stuff. We waste all of the time trying to get the shortcut. It is not going to be roses and sunshine all the time. So, do the work. It's not always easy and painless. 9. You have to have healthy boundaries. If you are tossed around in life like a ping pong, it means you don't have boundaries. Communicate to let People know what's okay with you and what's not.
The short cut one got me I was in active addiction for 12 years finally got a full-time job quit cold turkey (hardest time of my life) and took responsibility of myself and my finances. The job rebuilt me and my relationship with myself I now trust my judgement and love myself. Restarting at 33 years old it can happen just got to put energy into yourself and have faith 💜
Get out of your comfort zone! The brain has been protecting us for a million years to survive in a harsh world. Uncomfortable feelings and negative bias is just a protective mechanism to keep us safe. The world is a different place and we must realise these are just 'feelings', we will not die! Thanks for this, as always your talks are very helpful. Please keep up the good work.
Really good of you to write that down and reiterate that point - writing down things we're learning does cause it to land in a different way in our brain and helps it to stick more.
I have always struggled with strong anxiety and panic. Studied psychology. Studying to be a life coach. Been in a ton of therapy. YOU ARE LITERALLY ONE OF THE BEST I HAVE ENCOUNTERED! I also never leave comments. You speak to me. You have helped me so much. Thank you beyond words!
I've spent a lifetime at sea in all kinds of difficulties. And I've seen the strongest of men break when things fail and such men thought they had control. Control is not the answer but flexibility for acceptance of the unexpected is within each moment and thus being awake and present in each 'now' and to observe with the intuitive essence of curiosity. I'm sure we've all seen a person of great character who inspires those who are close at hand during times of great difficulties and who appear to be able to calmly seek or adapt solutions for such things. You're an 'intuitive feeler', for the signs are quite clear, thus have the gift for such things.
Great video. I especially like when you talk about comfort zone. Pushing ourselves past the outer rim of our comfort zone is where all the magic happens. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable, knowing that your growing
Hi I know this is an old video but I have been watching your videos for several days now and wanted to reach out. Idk if you’ll see it or not but all good. I’m going to try and give you a synopsis: I have been trying to battle my issues for years now but not wholly bc of shame and pride and ego….only in the last few did I even realize the magnitude and the sources and what all this was. I have always been so hard on myself, indecisive, anxiety ridden. I have often described feeling like I’m just living in a dream with nightmares sprinkled in. I never felt in control of what was happening in my relationships and such. 2 years ago I unexpectedly became a mom, I discovered my mother was a narcissist and as I was facing what kind of mother I would be I saw the future and past all at once. I realized how much I was still letting my childhood affect me. Ever since I have been desperately trying to heal and work on myself and stop letting myself and my trauma responses ruin my present life. I often fall into a pattern of working on it, falsely thinking I solved it, getting lazy in reality, only to realize I need to put in waaaaay more time and effort. Your videos have been so on point, honest, raw and cut through the BS and actually HELP. You actually want to help bc you aren’t letting all of us continue to lie to ourselves. I do not want to say a victim and a lot of therapy type situations do just that. You don’t and I’m grateful for that. I feel like you are contributing to my rescue raft and I am finally seeing some progress in myself and feel compelled to come back daily and watch more videos because they actually HELP. Thank you so much. I am grateful. I don’t want to lose my husband of 15 years and I want to stop these “generational curses” of criticism and shame and narcissism my family has and not pass that forward to my daughter. Thank you so much
Being kind to ourselves, compassionate and kind. Being aware of the way you talk to yourself, loving and respecting yourself specially when you fall down. Changing our self-talk ♡ Sending love
Julia has such a compassion to teach. She is authentic as you hear the fluctuations in her voice knowing that she has experienced these same emotions. Life is hard. We must have healthy boundaries. How does a Catholic let go of guilt? How does a caring, loving mother say no to grown adult children in distress? I love her coaching but how to implement them is a challenge? I am a nurse with a master's and mindfulness coach but still struggle in my marriage & family of 33 years. I will explore what Guilt means to me and keep exploring body, mind & spirit boundaries in my life.

You've stumbled across the BEST channel! I just love our little corner of the internet with Julia, she's so insightful and part of my 5 a.m. alone time routine to start my day every single day - and our little community is just as fantastic. 💜 Happy Wednesday ❣️
I definitely needed this video, 2019 has been anything but easy for me as far as mental health is concerned. 13 anxiety/panic attacks so far, being referred to an Intensive Outpatient Program due to cutting, not being able to hold a steady job, falling behind on numerous bills, feeling like everyone is to busy for me or like I'm not good enough for people. This is definitely what I needed to help change the course of 2019 and end it strong and in control!!!
“It might be uncomfortable. But I can be uncomfortable.” That really is the antidote to narratives in our head which tell us we can’t do anything differently until we feel comfortable. Thank you!
I love waking up to I am going to have a good day because I love myself, can be kind to myself & show that kindness to another. Boundaries are Set. Love Your Presentations !!
Hello from Akron Ohio. I just came across your channel tonight And I'm very thankful for it. One of my counselors said to me once," what would you say to the child version of yourself in this moment" and I was also told to go back and revisit tramatic and embarrassing moments throughout my life and try to heal myself by talking to that child version of myself, as an adult , as I would say to myself who I am now, and what I would say to myself back then. Positive self-talk is imperative. And defeat the negative self-talk
I am so amazed and beside myself to see that your video received 11 dislikes and that 909 people liked it! I couldn't disagree with anything you touched based on. I'm currently on my journey to self discovery and happiness. I wish I didn't try to take the short cuts I did but I'm so blessed to have learned the hard way. I can't begin to explain how life changing and motivating it is for me to see these LITTLE changes. Because these little changes are HUGE for me and it only pushes me to try harder. What goes wrong when you try harder? NOTHING. A few years ago I thought there was something wrong with me, like I was just the unlucky one walking this earth. Today, I feel so powerful and laugh when I see how far I've come. I've learned that the greatest attribute I had all along was my STRENGTH! Along blossomed courage, compassion and LOVE. I had a choice and I took responsibility for it. I'm here now and even though everything isn't where I want it yet, I'm already that much happier! Your video just helped me get through another day. Thank you Julia!
Love when you mentioned stepping out of your comfort zone. I use to be afraid to go anywhere outside of NYC and being anywhere where I didnt know anyone. I started traveling last year to places near NYC until I took my first plane to New Orleans. I've continued to push myself to go to places I'm not familiar with like california and chicago. Its helped me so much I'm going to canada in two weeks my first time. Pushing my comfort zone has become eye opening to me.
Hi! After getting covid, i developed panic attack everyday, it was really hard, this was not happened in my entire life. I kept on watching different videos about panic attacks and how to cure them. But this video and the mindfulness video helps me a lot. Please keep on creating and posting videos, you can change someone’s life. Thank you and god bless you!
The long cut becomes the short cut- so true! I read the slight edge years ago and this is when I first understood this- what we see in other successful people took years of trial and error that we often didn’t see! Stop feeling sorry and get busy incorporating small everyday small steps to emotional freedom
A few years ago, it was really harsh for me to hear some of these things. I couldn’t watch some of the videos like this one because it was just too much. But now, I’m so much better with things that while some of these points still show me my own gaps, I am more capable and secure to address them. I’m grateful. ❤ The one that is hardest for me is “easy button” - I end up spending so much time trying to optimize… but must go through the whole thing - the actual long cut is needed to have the transformation we needed.
I used to fight to keep going every hour of everyday. I am now seeing a small light at the end of this darkness i have been going thru. Having counselling, finding the right medication and your many you tubes have been pulling me up. Your web talks are sooo spot on , almost everyone one of them give a person so much hope and tools to work with and understand what has happened to me. How to slowly unchain one`s self from this dark emotional turmoil which has been dishonestly set upon me. My sincere thanks to you.
You have a pleasant voice. I mean I could listen to read the AbCs. And you are smart. Excellent combination. I’m so glad I found your channel. Thank you.

Julia Kristina Counselling Nothing wrong with being emotional from time to time!! You’re welcome of course, I’m proud to be able to say I support your channel and the work you do.
I am new to your channel. I was having a bad night at work and was feeling emotionally and mentally drained by a situation with a co-worker. I clicked on my youtube page and there was your video. I clicked on it and now have been watching a number of your videos. Thank you for your knowledge and your channel, it has been so helpful!
Begins at 3:32 #1 Correct your self talk. #2 Detach from your thoughts and realize that thoughts are not always truths. #3 Acknowledge and accept that life is hard sometimes. #4 Take responsibility for your choices. #5 Step out of your comfort zone and do that thing you want to do. #6 Change your relationship with failure. #7 Giving up (because of fear) is not an option. Giving up as a preference is ok. #8 Stop looking for shortcuts or the easy button. We gotta do the hard work. #9 Have healthy boundaries. It’s ok to say NO.
Thank you Julia, for your work. I've had so many changes and loss in the past few years...my parents, my job, my home... finding you has been a great support. ❤
What do you mean “some days” it can feel overwhelming? Wow. You are a machine!!! Amazing how you manage three precious little ones and all of your excellent work!!! You are incredible Julia. ❤
Hi Julia, you are a ‘Godsend’ in the true meaning of the word. Your delivery style is one thing which makes your messages so potent and helpful. I am so thankful for your help. Could I suggest though, that you slow up just a little so that I can take your message in better. Thanks heaps Julia.
I MEDITATE, I PRAY & I LET GO AND LET GOD. Afterwards, answers and guidance come. It totally works for me and it definitely keeps me grounded in God and PEACE centered🙏
Thanks. I was directed to your podcasts by a friend. I was looking for your boundary podcast but found others and starting listening. I just listened to how to not let others control my emotions. I loved the tool of looking for my triggers and how a very small happening was triggering my big emotions. Triggers are just old wounds or scars that are inflamed. My trigger is loss. This helped me get back to reality and the size of my previous problem evaporated. Thank you
I was nodding my head yes the entire time you were talking because honestly listening to you speak is like music to my ears! I would totally love to listen to you in a podcast!
I think part of the reason we always talk bad about are selves is because from a young age we are taught to not be conceded and arrogant. Which this mentality has traveled with us are whole lives and it slowly escalated to us hating are selves, because if we feel good we feel guilty.
Hi Julia, I'm here initially because of my brother. What I can tell, he is a narcissist and many of your podcasts are relative to his behaviour on many levels. Thankyou for your channel, you have helped to a big degree.
Better to only be tossed around when swing dancing, LOL, and not to be from life. Your videos are great. I have been watching a lot more negative videos trying to improve, and so glad that to have happened upon yours, Thank you Julia.
No words for the emotion of gratitude washing all over me for hearing these words in just precisely moment. Why me? Life isnt hard, life is good until the pnarc drills deep into your innerchild and converts all good excitement cutiosity, joy, all into fear. Programming it with its own lack, dark emptiness. Interestingly enough this is the fundamental agreement we have about our economic system. Any progress isnt motivated as long as it woud create abundance, as price n profit would fall too much.
Julia, being a responsible coach for others, I really would earnestly comment you that your innermost core and cell comprising thoughts, feelings, intentions and above all you are simply simple and sweet in your life and enjoy giving that indomitable vigour to us.
Thank you for smiling. The friendly, engaging warmth of your attitude helps make taking in the information so pleasant. And thanks for sharing that you’re a mom! I had no idea you had littles and makes it easier, as a mom of littles myself, to relate with you. Thanks for sharing your perspectives.
Number 7 really connected with me-giving up is not an option. Because I always give up on me or something I am trying to accomplish like going back to school. Your videos make me feel so much better and hopeful!
Feeling the healing! Just happened to come across your podcast searching thru you tube.Already subscribed 1st video.Keep them coming and THANK YOU so much.
DETECTING PATTERNS is KEY for those of us in transition from past harming patterns. WE need to key into the specific phrases that continue to give us an un-easy gut reaction. TIP: 1. Make an inventory of these statements. 2. Make it mandatory to combat this with WORDS TO YOURSELF that are accurate and kind. 3. Create and recite an affirmation each morning, specific to you, detailing you deserve happiness. BEST PRACTICES and WISHES to us ALL!
What a great and helpful video! Thank you! And to "healthy boundaries" I would add not only to define them, but also to protect them and to stay in practise to keep them strong.
A friend referred your video to me. Being in my 50's, single, and confused. I deal with broken heart syndrome. Mentally, taking a toll on me lately. Watching your video at the moment.
Life can be rough and tough but it is, by all account, wonderful. All that is said in this video is something like a must-have or must be instilled in us so that there would be more of the wonderful than the rough and tough. Thanks, friend.
Hi from Constanta, Romania. I am enjoying your channel for some time now. I am so emotional, I stress about every little detail and I care for everyone else and want to make everybody happy. So I soooo need to hear you everyday! ❤️ thank you
Welcome Rebeca - I'm really glad you're here. One thing you may want to consider is the fact that you can't make anyone else happy. You can do things they like that may or may not give them temporary moments of pleasure, but you cannot make anyone else fundamentally happy. That part is up to them.
I connected most with the way we can get rid of the negative thoughts, they are "the unrecognised threat" to our mental health. I justify the presence of the negative thoughts in my mind by assuming that I'm trying to analize my problem(s) to find a solution. And the reality of things I fall into a spiral of negative thoughts that lead me to nowhere but low self esteem, doubts, fear etc... Thanks for stretching your hand to lift us and for being such an inspiration!
Stepping out of my comfort zone and self talk. I’m a work in progress and have faith in self improvement. Thanks you for this thought provoking topics.
i had a couple of teary moments actually several lately..but i imagined a hypothetical conversation with a mate where i queried my short fallings with regards to how i come across..his beautiful response moved me to tears..

#1 Correct your self talk.
I find it soothing to say "Everything's going to be all right" Thanks for all your knowledge.
Major game changer. These teachings need to be added to the education curriculum.
Priority, Priority! Always take a step back, Always have choices. Excellent, I too have had to learn this. Thanks!

Self talk, self care, lessons learned, moving forward, kicking back, calming down.
Thank you for being here. I’ve never felt more understood. New to you. Wish I had this information couple decades ago. Never too late.
Fantastic talk. Just found you this morning and so glad I did. Thank you for being you.
I MEDITATE, I PRAY & I LET GO AND LET GOD. Afterwards, answers and guidance come. It totally works for me and it definitely keeps me grounded in God and PEACE centered🙏
Hi Julia, I discovered your channel yesterday and have already watched half a dozen videos - you're amazing. Thank you for everything you do
Thank you, positive self talk, is the one I need to work on.
Yes, I like that I must take responsibilities for myself. I love your teaching.
You are helping a lot of people more than you'll ever know.
Definitely stepping out my comfort zone! Feeling the discomfort and doing it anyway. Thank you!
I'm fairly new, but so far I
am really impressed and so glad I found you. Thank you 😊
Thank you Kristina for doing what you do
You are awesome!! So many awesome things to learn!! I am definitely sharing this with my 13 year old granddaughter's who struggle so much with this!!
Julia Kristina....
I just found your videos! Great pep talks, just what I need it!
Thank you so much for your work! 🤝
Another dynamically balanced presentation of when to retreat, when to stand still and when to move full speed ahead, grow and have fun. Thanks again.
Love the way you've described this!
Thank you. You do good presentations and that makes it easier to make comments that are reflective of quality. Take care
Thanks for the thumbs up 👍, I appreciate all constructive feedback.
Thanks again
This is the best video on this topic I’ve ever watched (and I’ve watched plenty of them). Thank you so much for this.
I think part of the reason we always talk bad about are selves is because from a young age we are taught to not be conceded and arrogant. Which this mentality has traveled with us are whole lives and it slowly escalated to us hating are selves, because if we feel good we feel guilty.
I would agree with that to a certain extent.
You are Amazing! -
What life changing wisdom....wow!
Thank youuuuuuuu!!!!!!!
Best wishes to all of us in putting this all into practice.😊
I really liked the idea that we always have choices within challenging circumstances.
Hi Julia, I'm here initially because of my brother. What I can tell, he is a narcissist and many of your podcasts are relative to his behaviour on many levels. Thankyou for your channel, you have helped to a big degree.
Love your enthusiasm for getting your perspective's across to us. Thank you so much for sharing.
Listen to you all the time! My hubby has all many mental illnesses. You help us work on them together💞 Thank you, thank you! We love you!💖
So powerful and helpful. Thank you!! I needed the reminder today that sometimes life is difficult.. and sometimes not. It's ok!
Hey im not new but so pleased you post a video every week, every one of them helps so much and you have such an impact on people's lives. Thank you
This filled my heart. Thank you for your generous words.
So much going on in my life now! Trying so hard to be strong!!
Sometimes it's also okay to just be - don't forget that.
I love your videos.I love the enthusiasm ,conviction and down to earth approach.
Life may be hard, but when you have good boundaries and a solid sense of self, the practice and effort you put in gets easier, it becomes natural.
Albuquerque, NM, healing from a toxic relationship and your videos are really helpful.
An answer to my prayers. I needed this! You have a gift! Your words r golden. ❤️
DETECTING PATTERNS is KEY for those of us in transition from past harming patterns. WE
need to key into the specific phrases that continue to give us an un-easy gut
reaction. TIP: 1. Make an inventory of these statements. 2. Make it mandatory
to combat this with WORDS TO YOURSELF that are accurate and kind. 3. Create and
recite an affirmation each morning, specific to you, detailing you deserve
happiness. BEST PRACTICES and WISHES to us ALL!
What a great and helpful video! Thank you! And to "healthy boundaries" I would add not only to define them, but also to protect them and to stay in practise to keep them strong.
AMEN brother.
A friend referred your video to me. Being in my 50's, single, and confused. I deal with broken heart syndrome. Mentally, taking a toll on me lately. Watching your video at the moment.
Incredible...I got this video at the right time..will definitely overcome my fear
Life can be rough and tough but it is, by all account, wonderful. All that is said in this video is something like a must-have or must be instilled in us so that there would be more of the wonderful than the rough and tough. Thanks, friend.
Thank YOU my friend. I would be honoured to have you share this with whomever you think would appreciate it.
I hope you're having a good day!
@@juliakristinamah Hi. Yes, you can count on me on that. Have a wonderful weekend. Stay well, my friend.
So true, God is the constant thing that does not change.
Awesome information!!! Super inspiring ❤
Thanks Julia , you are amazing human being
Hi from Constanta, Romania.
Such a relatable and valuable video. Thank you so much for posting this.
In your corner, friend.
Julia is one of the best
