Dude 40 year old is the perfect time to have a midlife crisis, thats what I did. Well i was 39 but still, why not. This gives you possibly 40 years to reflect on your stupidity while at the same point saying, damn it was worth it. Year 2015, I did not have 124k plus an additional 10k in sales tax. But through the magic of the midlife excuse, I was able to get buy in by the wife and buy my serenity (P85D). Love it to this day. I hate the fact that shortly after they announced the P90D and the P100D, but oh well, timing is not always the best. None the less we figured it out, and we are good and happy with that liability. Would that money be better suited on investments with a ROI, Yea! but you only live once. LOL enjoy!

I once worked at Tesla Fremont and you should look into the buying an engineering model. Those are less expensive but you would be getting a lighter car that is ready to dissect, drag race or do whatever your desire. Think about it..

lol very good jobs,... in Texas there's no financing so you pay full price up front minus the small down payment I don't know about Utah but since Tesla's can't legally be sold in Utah I'm assuming it's similar to Texas. We were able to get our model 3 with the sport package because of hurricane Harvey.

Like the drive - which showed the actual 1.9sec 0-60mph run. The numbers Elon showed were real - NOW! Not in need of some future development of batteries apparently. Wow! And did the semi accelerate as advertised too? It looked like they demo'ed that too. Very cool that you went at Ben's invitation - I've seen some of his Teslanomics stuff too. My advise for you on how to pay for the Roadster: Buy TSLA stock NOW - a lot of it - and by 2020 it should appreciate enough to get you the $$ to buy it! I've got an order on a Model 3, and I COULD afford it on my own, BUT my hope is that my rather large investment in TSLA stock ... OK, it's HUGE actually (550 shares, not including multiple long dated option contracts to boot) ... will appreciate so much I can use the proceeds to buy my Model 3 ... and have plenty left over for taxes and to let the rest continue to grow.

It may be fast, but it definitely does not give you the thrilling experience when you drive a Porsche or other supercar which have loud exhaust noises when you floor it.

Tesla invest all of it's money into saving to world from oil addiction and toxic pollution and climate change. And it makes almost everything in the US, and working hard to get all of it's raw materials from environmentally and politically acceptable sources. And also makes awesome cars that has no competition at all.
