American soprano Rachel Willis-Sørensen is known for her diverse repertoire ranging from Mozart to Wagner. A regular guest at the leading opera houses around the world, Le Monde enthused, “…the American soprano has without a doubt one of the most impressive voices in the opera world. The timbre, of marmoreal beauty, is striking, the projection telluric…”
Ms. Willis-Sørensen opens the 2020/21 season at Opéra national de Bordeaux with her role debut as Violetta in La Traviata, followed by her house debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu as Leonora in Il Trovatore. At the Deutsche Oper Berlin, she sings Elsa in Wagner’s Lohengrin, and makes her debut as Elisabeth in Verdi’s Don Carlo. In November and December, she sings Mimi in La Bohème opposite Jonas Kaufmann and Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus at the Bayerische Staatsoper.

Hearing such a warm and colorful voice in this aria reminds me so much of one of my very favorite Violetta's, Anna Moffo. This is just gorgeous and authentic singing and what an immaculate technique!
Is it me or I hear a bit of Renee Fleming in her voice? (no offense btw) This version is just so amazing. The voice is full even on the top notes. This reminds me of the past sopranos who have full voices, love it so much. Glad I discover you by accident.
Hello Daniel! It is an honor to be compared to Renee, and a compliment that I get somewhat often.
I came here from the Wiener Blut video thinking the same thing. You got that lovely honeyed lyricism going on.
But really, despite the Fleming comparisons, your voice is more yours than anything else. 😉 Hopped around on TH-cam a bit: You're one of the most ideal Donna Annas I've ever heard. And your Trovatore Leonora is absolutely thrilling. 👏🏻
And a bit of Carol Vaness. She is so smart singing this repertoire right now. She will give us years of beautiful bel canto! If I could, I would make my first trip to France, just to hear her live! It makes me want to get a vaccine now! I am now a Rachel W-S fanboy!

Luckily she’s not trying to compete and I find her to be even better on this than some of our said legends and just nice to hear a voice stay connected from top to bottom without noticeable breaks which our lovely callas had . She was a lovely artist in her time but many have surpassed her and even she knew that.

It could be so easy to compare you to Cheryl Studer and Renee Fleming but in all honesty you sound so identifiably yourself that the comparison would be ridiculous. Such a remarkable artist!
