When you know you had the privilege to live a moment of exception. She’ll remain the best Violeta for all times for us. Unforgettable. Thank you so much.

I saw her at the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires about 13 years ago, singing Lucia and I remeber the whole theater trembling after her "Ardon gl’incensi" performace. Sublime unforgetable moment that I forever treasure.

In some respects, Nadine Sierra “journey” is the triumph of a deep monogamous love over wandering carnality. Vocally, Nadine delivered a blend of impeccable technique with emotion and feeling. Her trills were a delight, her top notes smooth and easy, and her legato milky. She easily soared over the orchestra, even at the busiest moments, and there was a vocal confidence there palpable in her delivery.
Some are saying this is the ERA of Sierra. I want to see the three Sierras sing and perform together. Ferrell.Hull and Nadine. A benefit for the Sierra Club.. A cross genre event by three fabulous woman.
Upon hearing the voice, the colouration, the breath control, the phrasing… My first thought is, “Holy shit! WHO IS THIS WOMAN?!” Obviously, she is truly amazing! How I long to hear more, and how I envy those fans who have heard her live, and who have studied her work.🙏🏻❤️

This year(2024) I saw her in London at Covent Garden in 'L'Elisir d'Amore and then 'Lucia di Lammermoor'. She was brilliant in the the former and spectacular in the latter. Brava.

That note at 4:31 wasn’t right. Idk why she even tried to make the ornamentation. Overall beautiful performance but such a slow self aggrandizing tempo. Verdi would have not approved.

She did a special job in appropriating the music to her style or character (with the help of the conductor). We need to learn to separate person (artist), technique and rendition. My comment was never targeted to her as an artist or her technique but rather this *specific* rendition.
@@ssjj6070 I don’t understand what’s the problem of getting help from the conducir is a collaboration and team effort. Joan Sutherland used to get help from her husband and conductor all he time and she still was fabulous. ❤

It’s a common practice that the singer works in collaboration with the conductor and artistic director to shape a character in a way or another, eg more “classic” more contemporary or on a personal style
Lovely dress and earrings. A matter of croce and delizia in the interpretation. A Garbo laugh. Good technique... sort of. Champagne not so good. Glass thrown in anger. Why? Better than most contemporary sopranos in the role. Except one. The "sì" at the ends was interesting. No canary soprano this one, but no Callas either.

Cierto. Aparte de lo que mencionas, tiene una pésima dicción, debilidad en el fraseo, es una voz absolutamente plana,¿ dónde están los colores que dicen los comentaristas? Su voz es absolutamente inexpresiva. La Ghiorghiu, la Ermonela Jaho son mejores que ella, en este rol. No se puede comparar con ninguna diva del pasado, la Sierra se encuentra a años luz de una magnífica cantante, como fue la Moffo. Saludos cordiales
