Note to people looking to get into firewood, and I do believe OHTHF would agree, start with a yard sale chainsaw and a basic splitter to make enough firewood to get a better saw, then a better splitter, then a couple of really good saws... then use what you've got until it becomes a bottleneck in production. Nothing wrong with a 60cc pro-class saw as long as you are happy with the job it does. I just wanted something bigger. Didn't need it, I wanted it. The cost of my 70cc pro saw was about 2/3 the price of a load of logs. My Echo CS-590 could've done the job with a 24in bar just fine.

I’ve Run Johnshreds all my life however when I went to saw shop for a new one they have Ben discontinued 😢 now it’s time to figure out the alternative. Having run Echo weed whackers with almost zero troubles I decided to try a 620 echo saw . Wow what a saw I’m super impressed

I switched to echo in my landscape business and have never looked back. I've always ran Stihl saws, but due to more tree work requests it got me curious about echo saws. I bought a 271 top handle and it's ok, but for $20 more the 355 top handle for 369.99 is a steal of a deal. I think the 620 is the same in the rear handle category. People should try them out, most reliable power equipment I've ever ran.

That Echo continues to impress. As I mentioned in my video, I went to a demo recently and they are making some good stuff. Thanks for the comparison as it puts things in perspective. The new saws from Echo, Stihl, and Husqvarna have really come a long way.

Good content! My CS 620 P with a 24" bar has become my main Saw on the family Farm for Logging, Firewood, land clearing, etc. It is much more than just a Firewood Saw. My CS 7310 is excellent as well, but it is heavy, and the 620 has way better ergonomics on the steep terrain I am cutting on sometimes, the X Series are excellent Pro Saws!

Quiet possibly, the 620 has a higher reving ignition though. When it comes down to it a 590 can perform right with the 620 but it’s not as cost effective, would be better off buying a 620 then porting it if that’s your thing. 620 also comes with larger carb and magnesium case/covers. The echo 620 is not in the same class as the Stihl ms361. First of all this is not a fair comparison when obviously one of the guys running the saws knows how to run a saw way better than the other. I could also see that the 361 needed to be sharpened. I could also tell that the 620 had a fresh sharpening and the rakers were obviously taken down way to much work the way you could hear it chattering in the cut. I have owned both of these saws and the 361 is a better saw all the way around. Don't get me wrong the echo is a great saw for the money, but if you want a saw that will last a lifetime your way better off spending the extra money and getting a Stihl.

Yeah I’m not biased on saw brands, I enjoy building/working/and running all of them. And yes you are mostly right, the 361 was sharp but needed rakers filed. However I’m not sure what you mean by not in the same class? I’m always eager to learn. From my experience with both of these saws the Echo pulls just as hard if not harder than the 361. If a homeowner wanted a killer bucking saw I wouldn’t hesitate to tell them save yourself a lot of money and buy the echo. And you’ve peaked my curiosity with who was way better than the other 😂 I really enjoy hearing experts opinions!

Oh and the rakers were mint on the echo, it is hickory your taking about, known well all over for how hard of wood it is!

361 has more hp and should be the faster saw, my 360 eats wood faster than those.

Yup it needed the rakers filed down a bit to be cutting at its best! And yeah I’m sure it would 🤠, that was hickory made for a good trial for em’. Thanks for watching

Haha maybe :D .nah they are pretty comparable but the value of the echo is a lot better. I’ll post another comparison video sometime and show the Stihl with a better chain and show a much closer match. I do really like the echo though!

😂😂 I don’t remember which other saws were used in this video but both of these featured saws are professional series?? Cmon man… and I’m sure a lot of my audience doesn’t matter what saw I run they just enjoy coming along for the show.

@@OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm The first saw is literally a homeowner saw. Not a professional saw. So i agree, you don't remember.

@@trackerbuckmann1627 ahh ya caught me, well I still appreciate ya watching and the MS 250 is a perfect saw for bucking smaller firewood. But either way hopefully you watched or skipped passed the homeowner saw and watch the 60cc pro series saws in action!!

Forget about the conclusion. Wind, horns and sirens. From watching, the Echo won.
