I love the screams, but having an INK song with purely clean vocals is refreshing.

I agree. Spencer is such a good clean vocalist. As cool as the screams are, I cant help but gravitate towards songs like this.

INK has been a favorite of mine for ages! I remember back in the days saying “man I wish these guys blew the fuck up they’re super talented.” I am beyond happy to see that Spencer’s vision for the band has finally reached that audience he always aimed for.
Since way back it was clear he was willing to take the band into a story telling type of band and they finally found their niche plus they blew the fuck up after almost two decades.
This song particularly is one of my favorites by them. The record dropped in December 2015 and for Valentine’s they had exclusive merch and one of the longsleeve has art and lyrics about this song. I doubt we’ll ever see that again, but I can say I’m the proud owner of one of those longsleeves and is literally one of my favorite pieces of band merch to this day so much so that I barely wear it lmao

Its theatricore. And they do it exceptionally well. They stick with it and the songs they produce are phenomenal. Not to mention when Spencer feels like slipping in a pun here and there
I can hear the BMTH vibe, but it sounds nothing like them. Those bands are completely different. I mean, so what if it sounds like them. It isnt going to affect the way they play. lol

Emo Otaku Would anyone want a romeo and juliet romance? Of course not, but that doesn't make it a bad piece of literature. Its a great a revolutionary piece of literature, theres a reason why its studied and still heralded as a classic to this day.
Tbh yeah but still is a revolutionary piece of literature that everyone should read at least once in their lives. But hey I get that schools fucking teach this story to kids waaaayyyyy too much (I had to read it for 3 straight years and by my freshman year of high school fucking knew the story by memory)

Ohgod yes, I never realised the beginning sounds like Drown but why is that a big deal?? I love both bands, and its not like they're plagiarising music. The concept for this album is very original and new. I have so much respect for them.

Looking back at this song in particular. Listening to it rn in this very moment understanding everything single lyric. I just wanna say I sometimes can’t hold back the tears and be the tough person I wanna be and for a few minutes I’m more human than ever and I’m in touch with my humanity. This song touches my soul each and every time I hear it and imma let it make me cry a few more times so I can be stronger day to day. This song is amazing. A perfect song for the beautiful and tragic story of romeo and juliet. This whole album is just perfect. You can feel when bands run out of great songs and just make 1 or 2 more decent songs to fill up the album. But this whole album just fits. Not a single song that shouldn't be on this album. INK is another fine example of a band that never changes they just improve with age.

This is my second favorite song from 'Every Trick in the Book', the beginning of the song reminds me of Drown by Bring Me The Horizon but every story meaning INK has put to a song is very theatrical. It's an awesome masterpiece

I was getting into INK big time when my class was reading Romeo and Juliet and the teacher would always have a song playing as we walked in. Once I found this song I held onto it until the unit and actually got him to play it. Best day ever in that class.

The reason it reminds people of drown is due to little melody in the beginning and the quick transition from the intro to the verse.

Hmmm... I think same keys and similar motives, but very far from plagiarism. The beginning progression to me sounds like I-IV-V-iv-V-I, or something close to it, which is a very common progression overall. Similar sounding songs happen. At most, INK took inspiration from BMTH for this song. But, that is complete speculation and impossible to truly tell. Either way, good song in my opinion. I like this better than Drown.
Not saying that I don't like INK's new album, because I love it. But, it just doesn't seem as powerful as their previous two albums. Like SIJAS and TPBTP were amazing, both lyrically and musically. But this one just doesn't feel like they've given their all into it.
This one actually reminds me more of a band called House of Heroes both vocal and progression-wise more than BMTH. No clue how relevant HoH are or if INK even listen to them though.

As a noob to INK , after hearing Communion of the Cursed and Hell in the Hallways and Me, Myself and Hyde this is a bit of a shock.
And I've learned that if I ever find a similar band to INK, never start with their Punk Goes Pop material, if they've done anything of the sort
