just love how calmly spencer speaks, it almost feels like he's not the INK VOCALIST for how his personality is to how he his on music videos and songs
You'd be surprised at how well-composed some artistically morbid people can be.
A lot of harsh vocalists I watch interviews for are usually really calm, sweet, and well spoken people. It’s crazy to me that such nice sounding individuals can sound so cool and brutal in a metal band.

Welcome to Horrorwood was the best jump scare. I’ve played it for friends and every time they jump. You start so soft and then BANG! Every friend has jumped. I love introducing ICE NINE KILLS to anyone I know that appreciates music horror and theater.

My 61 year old mother went with me to see Metallica in august. Ice Nine kills opened for them (I already saw them when SS2 launched), and she didn’t hate them! She’s not a fan of (as Spencer said) “screamy music” but she never once said “I hate them”. She watches horror movies with me all the time, and I think that’s why she enjoyed herself. INK is really bringing different groups of people together!

I had liked them before but I was with my gf at the time when that song became available and she’s not a metal fan. I didn’t know but it starts out really soft and pretty and she’s like “oh this is nice” then BAM it was right in your face heavy. Lol she was like wtf is this?! I loved it though

I saw that show at Mr Smalls theatre in Pittsburgh! First time I’d heard Enterprise Earth. One of my favorite shows I’ve been to throughout the years!
Having seen Ice Nine Kills just last night, he still does the "crowd holding him up by his feet" thing.

I used to listen to metal in my teens and faded out of it, but I'm a huge horror fan and I had just started listening to INK a year ago, and they really put me back into the metal genre.
It's always so soothing to listen to Spencer. Has such a calming, peaceful tone when he speaks.

I got to meet The Spencer a couple weeks ago at Spookala in Tampa. Such a humble and down to earth guy, who absolutely LOVES classic horror films. I was just sad I didn't get to do the VIP acoustic set they did on Saturday. Love the content Nik, great interview!
I love them. They are also my 8year old daughter's favorite band. We've seen them so many times and the show is always amazing
They're on a completely different level. True "Showman" imo. Ink and miw are so good at entertaining a crowd/fans.
12:30.... Veil of Maya did something similar to this with "Outsider". They dont show the annotations, but they put up the final card during the outro-esque piano / synth part then come back for the big outro breakdown part.
im taking a global horror film class at my university. during the icebreaker from the first class i told everyone about ink. i literally tell people even if you don't like heavy metal but you like horror films to give them a listen

I was one of the people that didn’t listen to metal at all but loved horror movies and latched on to the band a few years ago and it’s been a hell of a ride!
INK is actually what got me into horror movies!! I was just a metalhead who stumbled across Communion of the Cursed video and discovered a new band. It's been 1 and a half year and I've watched over 200 horror movies and tv series so far. So thank you guys!! Also your music is magnificent!! Keep up the good work, love you ❤️ 🔪

American Psycho 2 was also filmed in Toronto at the university I went to and it was weird watching the movie where they exit one door of a building and come out the door of a completely different location. Wonder if he visited there too.
INK are just unbelievably fun and Spencer absolutely matches that energy
My wife has always been a big horror movie fan, and when we first started dating, had never heard metal. I took her to a spite show and then i went over to her place a week later and she was blasting the self inflicted album from chelsea grin! She ended up falling in love with creatures/reincarnate era motionless and then i took her to an Ice Nine show, and that sealed the deal. She LOVED the songs, production, and themes. To this day she doesn’t listen to a ton of metal (our lives have def changed over the last 5 years), but she still will throw on silver scream. Ice nine crushed the genre bend and getting people into this type of music and I’m grateful we have them 🙏🏻
Side note: connect the cuts still slaps almost 10 years later and is top tier metalcore

INK actually got me into the horror genre. Love the songs and got interested in watching those movies. Such a creative, fun, and amazing band. I recommend seeing them!

Ice nine kills are one of my favorite bands
I love Spencer and Ice Nine Kill is one of my favorite bands. I met him last year at Steel City Con. He was so cool.
His vibe is so chill ❤ can't wait to see him for Thankskilling!
All of the themes fit so perfect with the corresponding horror movie, can't lie, the American Psycho video is probably my favorite, specifically because of the breaking the 4th wall, also because of the "HEY PAUL!", it kills me every time and the most onnoxious laugh happens lol. I've known about Ice Nine Kills for awhile but have been a bit more stuck on them here lately.
Saying to a fan of horror that they scared you hast to be the most beautiful compliment, just like when writers are told they make you cry or something like that 😅✨

Dan Watson was the Vocalist from Infant he was referring to cause he moved onto Enterprise Earth. The song he’s referencing is Decapitation Fornication
I've somewhat told Spencer this, but INK has been the first band my husband and I are equally passionate about. The first time I heard Hip to Be Scared, I immediately took to Spencer's vocals and their unique melodies and arrangments. My husband instantly recognized that the song was about American Psycho because he loves horror. After years of my husband trying to get me to watch horror with him, INK was the toe in the water that made me willing to wade in, and we've been going to horror conventions and Ice Nine Kills concerts ever since!
Got to see INK in Biloxi when they were with Atreyu/MIW/BVB, and man, that was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. From a production value, it was arguably the best I've ever seen. Specifically INK and MIW. Would definitely see them again.

I met Spencer at Horrorhound 2023. Super nice, chill dude and he complimented my Scream shirt. I told him to check out the Nic Cage movie “Mandy” lol. That would make for a crazy song.
I still listen to the album Safe is Just a Shadow every now and then. Red Sky Warning and The Greatest Story ever told will always be my favorite songs by them. ❤️

I’m happy that INK is bringing these movies to a whole new generation that didn’t grow up on VHS and DVD’s, it’s cool to see how many people went back and watched these movies because they wanted to understand the lyrics

Been jamming Ice Nine since they were still coming up. They were one of those bands that i heard back then that i knew were going to blow bc they were definitely a big cut above the rest in post hardcore at the time.
INK is actually one of the main reasons why I love and enjoy watching horror movies and listening to rock/heavy metal. Love this band! The first song i‘ve listened to from them was farewell ii flesh. Unfortunately I haven’t had the opportunity to watch them live yet, but listening to interviews or to their songs wants me to see them live so bad. Hope they‘ll never stop❤️🔥🥺
I first discovered Ice Nine Kills when The Silver Scream came out. I loved the album, ironically, even though I can't stand horror movies. The writing, and how they don't just make vague references, but rather make the entire song about it, really brought me in. Then I went back and listened to Every Trick in the Book and loved them even more.
Plus Spencer just oozes cool, and definitely cleans up well in a suit.

I know everyone loves their new stuff but I can’t recommend “predator becomes the prey” enough. It was the first album I heard of them and it’s still my favorite. It’s right before they went to the style they have now. Still heavy and amazing cleans
I've said this to my friends in the past. Connect the cuts is one of the best singles ever dropped, But when The Silver Scream came out I think they really came into their own
Commercially and artistically The whole album has a refined melodic sensibility that really makes it a cut above the rest

as someone who lives in swampscott, if spencer did theater or anything music related in high school, i deeply apologize for him having to go through the horror that is mr. pearse. great theater productions, miserable experiences.

I love that when my metalcore era came, I was already a horror movie fan while listening to more metal but not yet in the hardcore part, so when I discover INK for the first time, they just got me with the stories, like I knew I had to stay (and praying that it wasn’t a band that had bangers and never released anything else ‘cause I tend to have that kind of luck xD)
Definitely INK gives me the best of both worlds that I’m a sucker for ✨

Been my favorite band in general since February of this year, they got me onto the entire metal scene.
Interesting experience I had with this band. I was in the back seat on a road trip. My friends were listening to the song about Carrie. Me, not knowing it was about Carrie or anything about the band's horror aesthetic, was picturing the color red the entire time the song played. After each song my friend that knew all the songs asked which horror element the song was based on. I said Carrie and told them what I experienced. Whether it was intentional or not they nailed the Carrie song on more than just lyrics and audio
I'm lowkey hoping Spencer does exactly what he said bringing Nik on for that Straight Jacket thing to do the Hannibal slurp thing.
If someone enjoys horror movies or want to get into them, I really recommend to watch The silence of the lambs (it’s a whole trilogy and even a series but this one’s is perfect by its own already)
Just keep in mind it has cannibalism in it, but overall it’s a FANTASTIC movie that I watched like just few years ago and still gave me chills

I was so tempted to see them when they opened for metalica, but i looked at my wallet and thought better of it, now its perfect because they are touring with two of my absolute top bands, and my college friends are coming too! i can't wait for the show
April of 2022 I got to see ice9kills at 98 Rockfest in Tampa Florida. I was impressed with their performance and there is stage setup I could see them at one point going as big as Rammstein with the horror and the production I can't wait to see them next month. In Orlando Florida within this moment

I've always been obsessed with classic horror movies and nobody I've known ever had the same appreciation for them, and I've loved ice nine kills since the predator becomes the prey, so when the silver scream came out (hehe) I felt like I was home, and when welcome to horrorwood came out I died and went to hell with our lord Satan. I've never felt more appreciative for the sense of inclusivity Spencer established not just for me but for horror fans and metal heads alike, and his theatrics and meticulously produced songs, shows, and music videos is truly an inspiration to me. I love this band, and I hope to see them again soon.
Been a fan since 07 when The Burning came out. They were massively under the radar for years so its nice to see their massive success now with the last couple of albums and all this horror stuff. But id love it if they brought some of their old songs back in the live shows for the long time fans, like Greatest Story Ever Told etc.
Saw them in Montreal opening for Metallica... great live show!! I love how they use horror movies and work it into the lyrics. Looking forward to watching the end of the Horrorwood saga!!

Ya know i like the fact that nik brought up the whole horror fans that dont listen to metal discovering in or vice versa. Because i was definitely a metalhead that when i discovered INK i started obsessing over horror movies and have made it a poi t to catch up on all the ones i never watched. So kudos to Spencer making people fans of his obsessions.
I was the guy who didn't watch horror movies. Started to really get into them with ink. Had a friend who said I needed to watch American Psyco and then listen to HTBS and that song is 10x better once watching the film. I love having the connection. Makes things interesting
INK actually got me to watch some of the old horror movies like The Fly and My Bloody Valentine that I probably never would have watched otherwise.
Omfg when INK did Communion of the Cursed @ their 1st SilverScreamCon last year it made my goddamn year 🤘🏻😆🤘🏻 that was the only friggin time I’ve seen/heard them play COTC live!! Spencer next album bring it back to Every Trick in the Book roots…thats my favorite album of all motherfuckin time! Absolutely genius for both lyrics & music…it blows horrorwood outa the water, just saying…
I’ve seen INK 5 times now and when they toured with Bad Omens it was my sons 11th bday on Nov 11 where he got to go to his 1st concert in SC…this Nov it will make 6 for me & 2 for him…we are metalheads for life
