Yes, I experience paranormal activities at the home I live in. The animals and I always hear it and look same direction. They or whoever has never scared me. And after learning what my grandmother did before I was born, gave me the who it is. That's why it doesn't scare me. I can feel safe around them. And definitely one of the best horror movies.

Andrea, the oldest daughter, wrote a 3 book series called "House of Darkness, House of Light" that explains how the Warren's actually made things worse by being there. The reality is much more horrible than the movie. The Perron's lived in hell in that house from 1970-1980.

Yes I read and heard about that too, they said the movie was a great representation about their story but unfortunately they didn’t have a happy ending in real life as they did in the movie and the mother in real life, being in that house they said drain her and made her aged rapidly. They also said they blessed the second film when they made it cause the first one they didn’t and alot of weird stuff happened on set especially when they brought the real family on set for an interview for the Blu-ray release: they said a big wind blew some stuff over on set when the family arrived and the mother who wasn’t there with them and was in another state at the same time said she fell and broke her hip. 😱

The director is doing the same thing the Cohen brothers did with Fargo (and later replicated in the TV series adaptation) about "based on true events" and being a total lie. You can put that claim anywhere and people are gonna gobble that up like pancakes. Guillible people, of course.

I’ve heard Andre Perron speak about this several times and have been to the house where this actually took place. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this in the comments, but apparently a lot of weird/creepy stuff kept happening to both the cast & crew during the making of this movie & The Conjuring 2. Whether you believe in the paranormal or not, it is interesting to read about so I apologize for the book I'm about to leave (haha) but these are just a few of the accounts that you can read about. One account is from James Wan, the director, stating when he was working on the script of this movie in his office, his puppy at the time kept staring & growling at the same corner of the room, moving her head around as if she was tracking something as if she could see something. Vera Farmiga who played Lorraine Warren stated that she kept randomly waking up between 3-4am while on set. She even stated she would see 3 claw marks both on herself & on random objects (the first one she noticed was on her laptop screen after she took a phone call stating how interested she was in the role for the movie, she opened her laptop & then saw the marks go diagonally from one corner of her screen to the other) and then once again when she was on set & saw claw marks appear on her upper thigh randomly. The actress Joey King, who plays Christine, even stated after a couple weeks of filming she started getting random bruises on her body even though she was never involved in any of her characters stunts (the crew was very strict about not putting any of the kids in physical danger) & she claims she never had any kind of bruising problems before filming for the role or since then. Even when the family the movie is based on visited the set one time, one of the daughters told Chad Hayes (the co-writer for the movie) that she had a feeling something bad was going to happen that day, and then coincidently later on in the day her mother fell & broke her hip so bad that they had to operate on it & replace it that same day (what makes this more weird/creepy is that she was the only one from the family that didn't even visit the set that day). Carey Hayes (the other write for the movie) said that his wife would say random formations of water would just appear around their house, and reminded his wife about their elderly dog who had bladder problems so he needed to be walked frequently, but his wife insisted she walked the dog & when drying up the water with multiple beach towels, the water had no odor or smell to it at all. There are more accounts from the cast & crew, but I find the stories to be real interesting because it is just so bizarre

That’s so strange and creepy! But I’m not surprised that it happened. That phenomenon also occurred in Poltergeist and The Exorcist (the first one), although I’m sure it happened in a lot a paranormal/horror movies. The energies that they recreate in the films must be very strong and dangerous 🥴

Joey King's story is even beyond that. She claims the makeup department thought she was playing a joke on them and tried to wipe them off. She went to a doctor and is diagnosed with a blood condition (ITP) and starts treatment while filming. She has to go to the hospital twice a day to check her blood and to treat her. She goes home and her blood is fine and has never had an issue since. It doesn't run in her family.

The eldest daughter of the perron family wrote in her book that it was so much worse than the movie. The movie had to be dumbed down so people could watch it. What actually happened was so much more horrifying. And glad you mentioned this stuff when ever I watched someone else react to this movie there always like I wonder how much of this is actually true and the comments aren't any thing informational about the background of it.

Let me break this to you: thats pure marketing dude, the marketing department design these kind of campaigns where they invent stories happening onset and then select some actors/talent willing to tell them. Maybe they gain some money or whatever.
The other phenomenom is people being supersticious and seeing shit that it always happens, and trying to see patterns where there isn't any. So people are more willingly to fool themselves and be hypervigilant to see weird shit when they are in similar creepy contexts. Nothing paranormal.

I’ve seen 6 or 7 ghosts in my lifetime. None of them were in the middle of the night. They’ve never interacted with me but they’ve been there, just staring at me, or being near me, and then moving on. Most recently, I saw a man walk past a bedroom in my apartment while I was in it. He just walked past, didn’t make any noise. Thing is, no door opened and he came from an angle where a door would’ve needed to open for anybody to walk the direction he came from. I did the thing you shouldn’t do in a horror movie and left the room to see if he was still walking past. He wasn’t. I absolutely believe in the paranormal.

I have experienced multiple paranormal encounters personally. The most consistent one was a white cat that both my mother and I had seen for 6 months, but neither of us knew the other saw it. We never talked about it, thinking we imagined it. Every time I saw it, it would be out of the corner of my eye. When I turned to it, it disappeared. That was nearly a weekly occurrence for about 6 months straight until I finally saw my mother looking in the same direction I was. I asked what she saw, and she told me its crazy, but she had been seeing a white cat in the house for months that would disappear when she turned to look at it. Seeing the same thing at the same time helped me realize it wasn't just me being crazy or imagining it.
My closest encounter was when I came home from school, went to my room and started playing Battlefield 2. As I was playing, I heard the door knob to my room turn and my door cracked open just about an inch or two. The hallway was dark when I turned to look, and I thought it was my mother. Sat there looking at what I thought was a familiar shape. So I said "Yeah, what do you want?" The door slammed shut, and I immediately got out of my chair and stormed into the living room saying "What the f-! Why did you slam my door??" and she and my step father were sitting there watching TV, confused why I thought they slammed my door. They had been sitting there the whole time watching a movie. After thinking back, I realized what I saw couldn't have been them because the outline of the shape was only a bit over 4 foot tall, and filled with shadows.
Most creepy encounter was when I was at work for a closing night shift as a restaurant. Me and another worker were cleaning up preparing to shut down for the night. Had to be around 10pm. As we were closing, we heard 2 children giggling in the back room. My coworker and I looked at each other, and they asked if there was any customers out front, which there wasn't. Went in the back and heard it again coming from the bathroom. I went over and knocked on the door and said "Hey, we are closed. Please come out and leave the store." Nothing but silence. I knock again and wait. We hear the giggling again and I say "I am opening the door. It's time to leave." Opened the door, and of course, no one was there. Looked outside to the parking lot and saw absolutely nothing, no cars, no people, nothing. We decided the place was clean enough and left.
Had more encounters, but these were the ones I absolutely could not explain in any other way than the paranormal. Never had any violent or physical interactions. But since so many things happened in our house, I decided to ask whatever was there to leave, stating it was our house now and they were no longer welcome there. The house became quiet and I never saw or heard anything else from that house until we moved a decade later.

Great reaction guys. To answer y’all questions a lot of the movie is true but they’ve defiantly added things to spruce the movie up a little. However, one of the Perron kids who witnessed the haunting wrote in a book that the paranormal experiences were way worse than what the movie shows you. James Wan wasn’t allowed to add some of the things that happened in the movie because it would exceed the R rating.
It’s also said that the Warrens were kicked out of the house by Roger when Carolyn was being possessed. He felt like the Warrens being there was actually pissing the spirits off. So the happy ending showed in this movie didn’t actually happen and ended with Roger hitting Ed in the face.
The images you see at the end are archive images. You can watch multiple TH-camrs going into the late Warrens museum where they keep all their haunted items they’ve collected over the years. Keep an ear out during the end credits of C2 and 3, they have real tape recordings of the haunting…

Which makes more sense that it would be 9ne of those dolls, and you can see someone would own that doll. I think this is a good series. So just to explain it, The Conjuring Series includes cases from the Warrens that are based on "true" stories. So it's The Conjuring, with the Perron family, The Conjuring 2, the Enfield haunting, and The Conjuring : The Devil Made Me Do It, about Arne Johnson and David Glatzel's possessions. It also includes the 3 Annabelle movies, Annabelle, Annabelle Comes Home, and Annabelle Creation. It also includes The Nun and soon to be released Nun 2, starring Taissa Farmiga from American Horror Story fame, Vera "Lorraine" Farmiga's little sister. That is the "Conjuring Universe". The Insidious franchise is not part of it.
You probably recognize Vera from The Bates Motel. She played the mom. But great reaction. Again y'all keep my work day entertaining. Thanks guys!

The reason why the kids didn't wake up when the photos fell off the wall is, whenever someone was being "haunted" at the time it was like they were in a bubble and when the evil was attacking them it would only affect the person who was singled out in the moment. That's why Nancy could not see or hear what her sister saw when her feet were being pulled. That is what the Perron sisters said about their experiences during an interview. Also the pictures and article clippings at the end are real. Great reaction btw , always fun watching ya'lls reaction.🙌👏

Myth busters did do an episode about that, and they were surprised when the myth details were confirmed regarding the car rolling when in neutral and the fingerprints appearing. They ended up busting it by having a geographical survey done on the area and found out the road was actually at a small decline, but wasn't noticed due to an optical illusion type effect. Fingerprints discredited by prints already being present from people closing their trunks. Keep up the fantastic content! :D

My mother was murdered when I was 10 years old. When I was 22, I went back to the house and encountered her spirit. There hadn't been any breeze when I was outside but after I went inside, I could hear the wind howling. It was my mother, so I wasn't frightened and I was able to lay her to rest. After I spoke to her, the wind died down again. Her spirit couldn't rest because her death left me orphaned and she didn't know what would happen to me. I also have two or three ghost cats. I can feel them jump on the bed and walk beside my body. They then lie down against me and I can feel their weight against me. However, when I look, there's nothing visible there. I'm not a medium so I can't see spirits, but I can physically feel their effects around me. As far as the Appleton Oak's argument about not having any evidence, spirits can affect things but they don't have a physical form. It's like trying to film the air. Unless there is something in the air or something around that is affected by the air, you could argue that there isn't any air in the room. In an empty, still, room it could be in a vacuum. A camera isn't going to show that. That's why the "ghost hunters" use a variety of things to try and find ghosts. When one thing doesn't work, anther thing might. Just my thoughts.

It turns out, a previous owner of the home who is now deceased used to kill neighborhood dogs. The Sadie parts always remind me of that one episode. I don't think the entire movie is meant to be 100% accurate to one case, but a mixture of several cases put together for the dramatic effect. From what I understand, Ed and Lorraine was never able to help this family completely, the husband ended up punching ed in the face and kicking them out of their house during the exorcism.

I have never experienced anything paranormal personally, however, my brother and I grew up hearing ghost stories from my dad, aunt, and grandparents, who all swear they lived in a haunted house for a few years with a ghost that they called Catherine. I'll tell a few of the stories that stand out in my memory, 20 years later.
When my dad and his sister were in their teens(my uncle was in Vietnam at the time) they moved into a small house pretty much in the middle of nowhere. My aunt and dad started noticing weird things the very first night. My aunt was around 15 at the time. She'd had a pet bunny up that died about a week before they moved into the new house. It would sleep on top of her covers at the end of her bed every night. Some nights, he would hop off the bed and across the hard floor to get a drink. So the night they moved in, she wakes up in the dark, to a small movement by her feet. She hears and feels the covers move, and hears same sound she used to hear every night: the bunny hopping down onto the floor and across the room across the hard floor. But she didn't have a hard floor in her new room, it was carpeted. When I was younger, I asked her if she was afraid. But she said she honestly never felt that scared in the house. She said that, at the time, feeling like her rabbit was there gave her a sense of relief.
During a brief period, one of my uncle's friends from the army rented the back bedroom on the house. His intent was to stay for a couple of months, but he was only there for about 2 weeks. His first night there, he noticed that the room was a lot colder than the rest of the house. He got extra blankets from my grandmother and was finally able to fall asleep. He woke up in the middle of the night, unable to move. He looked towards the foot of the bed and saw a young girl in a white night dress standing right by his feet watching him. He threw off the covers and rushed to turn on the light, but there was no one there. My aunt said she went to the kitchen the next morning and he was asleep at the kitchen table. He told her what had happened and she explained that they saw a girl there sometimes, but she'd never done anything to hurt anyone. It happened to him two more times and he packed his balls and left.
My brother and I met the guy when my grandfather passed away several years ago. When we did finally find a chance to ask about when he rented the room, he started acting really odd. He straightened up and he told us that he's done his best to forget that he ever stayed in that house and immediatey turned and walked away from us and out of the room.
Other weird stuff would happen around the house with them hearing whispers and their names being called from other rooms. Sometimes they were alone when something happened and sometimes they were together. Sometimes it was my dad and aunt. Sometimes my aunt and grandfather. The stories never changed over the many times I heard them. Same details every time.
Again, nothing has ever happened to me personally, or my brother for that matter. But the way we heard those stories over and over, never changing. My grandparents didn't like to talk about it much, but they would chime in every once in while with a missing piece of the story whenever someone was talking about it....and then the guy who rented the room being completely unwilling to talk to us about it, when it had happened like 50+ years ago...just give me a weird feeling about it all and makes me not so certain about things.
And all of that is why Paranormal horror movies tend to get under my skin more than a reality-based horror movie.

The Warren's were absolutely real people and worked many paranormal cases over their career. Almost all the ghost hunter shows including the og ghost hunters that arguably started the paranormal craze both tv and movie due to its popularity, (if there's money to be made there's a hundred copies of any formula that gets ratings), but they all worked cases the Warren's had touched at one point or another. Both have passed on now sadly. Rip

While they were real people, their cases were fake. A gimmick to gain popularity.

The first and only sleep paralysis that I have is probably the worst one that I could possibly had because it includes hallucinations. I can scream and speak but my voice is like I’m whispering and I can’t move. I can see in my peripheral vision that there’s a dark figure in the corner of my room and it’s getting closer towards me. When it got close enough, that dark figure got on top of me and started choking me. It is hallucinations but I can actually feel it choking me and I’m losing my breath so I’ve decided to close my eyes and it stopped. When I opened it, it’s like the dark figure resets. It’s back on the corner of my room and it’s coming towards me again so I’ve decided to just close my eyes and try to move my fingers.
It’s a really scary experience and I’m actually questioning “What if that dark figure choke me a little longer? Am I gonna die?”

Based on the "true" stories of Lorraine & Ed. If one reads other sources, the stories tends to differ some.... Still fun movies though :)

That thumbnail😂😂.. this movie was really good but I also recommend smaller budget horror Flicks that are still just as good if not better such as
    "The Void"
    " the babadook"
    " The collector/ The collection"
" Clive Barker's Nightbreed directors cut"
There's also a great TV series that went for three seasons staring Kevin Bacon called "The following" which is about a serial killer on death row who's been able to create a network of followers who he trains to be serial killers and each ep is dealing with a different kind of killer, Its pretty awesome🍻

The story Answer is talking about at the end about the bus full of kids is about Munger Road in Bartlett, Illinois. My aunt lives just past that road and we would have to drive on it all the time. My cousin and her friends tried the baby powder on the bumper with the car in neutral but nothing happened. They actually made a movie in 2011 about Munger Road.

I've read and heard paranormal investigators say that we're all born with the ability to see things that aren't physically there. Thats why children and pets react to things that adults don't see. Because that innocence that fades with age because we become jaded by life. However, i believe some people never do truly lose that sense of womder and excitement of the unknown and thats why there are adults who can still experience, sense and see those things hidden in plain sight.

the real Annabel doll is a raggedy Ann doll. They made it a porcelain doll to make it creepier. I had paranormal things happen to me. I so believe in spirits, as we never could explain it.

I do have plenty of scary experiences and a few paranormal run-ins and THIS is one of the best horror films out there. This was the second horror movie I ever watched-the first being the sixth sense, and this scared the hell out of me. Honestly I got scared when the daughter said "boo mommy" and then the clapping scene in the basement. I didn't know that could be an effective jump scare.
Also I didn't think it would be possible for grown men to be scared of horror movies but this movie proved me wrong and I can't go in any basement for the rest of my life.
