As a french myself I can't tell how weird it is to see my own country in a universe I already love so much, especially with Daryl ! But they nailed it so far. Also, sorry if I missed it but you guys didn't recognize Fleur from Harry Potter I'm disappointed 😂
Perhaps at the end Laurent is a leader & married Judith & they both lead, along with Hershel & the other girl from dead city. That would be frkn awesome.
My wife (who is French) recognized the song the nun was singing at the end from her childhood. I think she said it was a nursery rhyme type of song. Which was a pretty fun little moment, especially since she recognized it the moment the nun started humming the melody.
I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. There’s just something so different yet familiar about it. The cinematography is gorgeous and is almost a character of its own.
I don't think they believe he's the ACTUAL cure like Ellie. I think it means they believe and that prophecy dictates that he will grow up to be Great leader or something of sorts and bring the people of france together.
The means of “fuel conversion” is called a “Gassifier”. It burns wood and the combustion in the engine is from the smoke of the wood. Obviously I’m simplifying it but that’s basically it. They actually work well.

Really liking this show already, like Dead City I’m glad it didn’t disappoint with how different it is from the main show The cinematography, music and acting is all really solid and I never saw why some fans were so against Daryl having his own show, Norman is more than capable of carrying it and Daryl has always been a really complex and fascinating character I think Scott Gimple has been just leaving them to it with Dead City and this one cuz his influence doesn’t seem to be anywhere. I know he’s involved with The Ones Who Live but with Danai co-writing/executive producer and Andrew been an executive producer, I think it will be great

I actually liked this first episode better than I did with Dead City. It was so different from the original show and I think the sets are amazing. I cannot wait for the next one! I thought I would be disappointed knowing that, originally, Carol was supposed to be part of the show, but it did not disappoint, and I know somewhere along the road (episode 6, crossing my fingers) that the Queen will be back. I’m really liking that the feel of Dead City & Daryl Dixon are completely different. The cinematography and landscapes are so different imo, but in so many awesome ways. Just the underlying disturbing feeling each show gives off is underrated.
Also it’s been confirmed that there will be an “ internet breaking jaw dropping “ name drop in this series, obviously Rick is the first thought to mind but would that really be jaw dropping if that’s what we all are expecting ? Could it be someone else?

Juste before he enters the market and be attacked by the burners, it is written on the right door with red paint "ATTENTION ! AFFAMÉS !" It means "Be careful ! Hungry ones !" This is a little bit like in the first episod of the first season of TWD DON'T OPEN DEAD INSIDE on the doors in the hospital.

I gotta be honest, I myself am not religious but surprisingly I like that religious philosophy that they're going with for now so far. And If we think about it the concept of TWD is quite a religious one in general (wasn't there something about the dead people will start to rise when there's no more room in hell or something like that? And with Laurant being „the second coming of christ“ and the start of the apocalypse is kinda neat tbh). But yeah I like what they're doing so far! And I am very much curious where the story is going to go and whether the Laurant thing ends up being just a philosophic- thing as in „saving the world“ or If they're going to take the The Last of Us take on it.

I had never caught up with fear cuz it lost my interest but since it's on Max I'm on season 5 within a week 😂😂 but yeah I understand the comments you would make about it, with opportunities in places like Mexico , they really dropped the ball! And the storytelling.... would love to have that Convo one day 😂. But long story short, dead city was amazing. And this so far seems it will go strong.

Don’t get me wrong it was great and fun but something just wasn’t all the way there for me personally. To me it’s like I don’t care about Laurent or his journey or what is is I only really care about the BIG world connections like the Boat and group at the end. I don’t think the group at the end is CRM but I do think they work very closely with them. Also saw a theory I liked a lot and it’s that carol is actually in Europe aswell right now. The theory is Daryl and carol got on the boat together and were separated my only issue with that is I feel like Daryl would’ve mentioned that but very interesting to see how she gets here for next season
Also : with them saying they’ve been there for 12 years does that puts this series before dead city, so does that mean Rick and them still aren’t back during the events of dead city?? That’s my only issue is I feel like they are completely lost with twds timeline of course I’m gonna keep watching but starting to get a little worried with how the timeline is
I can't remember whether Diamond Dave and Mason Quinn talked about it during the Dead City reactions, but I think that the reason why there was no smart walkers was due to the NYC being closed off from everywhere else (because all the bridges and subways were destroyed), and therefore there was no external influences (people and walkers) from other places to introduce any smart walkers to the city. And the one that was a smart walker was a guy who came from outside New York. I think that solidifies my point, but what are your thoughts?
So far my only gripe was the captions went a tad fast lol. Not yalls but the shows translations, So so far so good ❤ nice to see yall and great to see Oak
Not sure why they’re using antique guns? I know that guns are not as common as in the US, but France does have a very large and well equipped modern army. They also have a police force that’s probably well equipped. It seems like guys like our antagonists here would have gotten their hands on some of those weapons, no? In any event, it’s really cool to see another country in this universe.
This episode was definitely better than I thought it was going to be cinematography was great overall better premier than dead City, that battle with the nuns and 1V1 with Daryl was very well choreographed.. now for a CON of mine if that was the CRM in the end then it seems they are yet again given us another female boss🤣🤦♂️ we got Pamela Milton, we got negan's boss lady in New York, the black chick in new Babylon, all the lady bosses at CRM from World Beyond I'm starting to see a very annoying Trend here whereas Walking Dead of old always had a seamlessly natural diverse incorporation of characters BUT NOW that seems to be falling by the wayside🤷♂️ all-in-all im impressed how good this Premier was and I'm willing to give it a chance
The best part of this show for me is the side characters. I’m tired of the spin-offs making new characters that are boring. These characters (especially Isabelle) seem interesting
I’m in the U.K. & I would most likely have to get firearms from museums 😂 honestly hardly anyone here has access to guns. Burner Walkers 😱 no more covering yourself in Walker guts to blend in with a herd. Definite CRM vibes from the lady at the end. And wow Eugene would’ve loved this brainiac kid
It is a bit “the last of us” but still will watch coz of Daryl. Hope they give Daryl a love story at end. Also Hope that all the spin offs bring them all together at the end & reunite Daryl, Rick, michonne, Maggie, Negan & Judith. Laurent, Judith & Hershel lead the world.

Awesome episode, I just dislike the fact that they nerfed and kinda made Daryl weaker somehow? That is the same guy who went toe to toe with Beta during the war with the whispers, and we know that Beta is one of the strongest characters in the walking dead franchise, he also killed many of the reapers who were professional soldiers....Yet we see Daryl somehow caught off guard by a walker getting grabbed and losing to that scavenger leader guy in a 1vs1 while Daryl had the jump on him? Really? I mean yes Daryl was wounded but still this is Daryl we are talking about here..
Dude, Daryl's in his 50s now. He's no longer a young man and we have to remember he's spent time living in a walled community for years. His reflexes aren't what they used to be, lol.
Are they trying to evolve the dead into ultimate survival creatures, sort of like Alien (from movie Alien) was supposed to be a super superior being? They are getting smarter and more agile and now they have an acid touch.
I still think Milton had the brightest idea seen to date!! Cover a thick coat in duct tape. I loved this. I liked the story so far. The scenery, sets, and music were fantastic. Had a totally different feel that the original.
It did have a feel. It was nice a chance to help make it feel more fresh.

This is shortly after the main show ended. Weeks at best months for the timeline. Dead City is 5-7 years after the main show end.

This episode was definitely better than I thought it was going to be cinematography was great overall better premier than dead City, that battle with the nuns and 1V1 with Daryl was very well choreographed.. now for a CON of mine if that was the CRM in the end then it seems they are yet again given us another female boss🤣🤦♂️ we got Pamela Milton, we got negan's boss lady in New York, the black chick in new Babylon, all the lady bosses at CRM from World Beyond I'm starting to see a very annoying Trend here whereas Walking Dead of old always had a seamlessly natural diverse incorporation of characters BUT NOW that seems to be falling by the wayside🤷♂️ all-in-all im impressed how good this Premier was and I'm willing to give it a chance

The best part of this show for me is the side characters. I’m tired of the spin-offs making new characters that are boring. These characters (especially Isabelle) seem interesting

It is a bit “the last of us” but still will watch coz of Daryl. Hope they give Daryl a love story at end. Also Hope that all the spin offs bring them all together at the end & reunite Daryl, Rick, michonne, Maggie, Negan & Judith. Laurent, Judith & Hershel lead the world.

Awesome episode, I just dislike the fact that they nerfed and kinda made Daryl weaker somehow? That is the same guy who went toe to toe with Beta during the war with the whispers, and we know that Beta is one of the strongest characters in the walking dead franchise, he also killed many of the reapers who were professional soldiers....Yet we see Daryl somehow caught off guard by a walker getting grabbed and losing to that scavenger leader guy in a 1vs1 while Daryl had the jump on him? Really? I mean yes Daryl was wounded but still this is Daryl we are talking about here..

Dude, Daryl's in his 50s now. He's no longer a young man and we have to remember he's spent time living in a walled community for years. His reflexes aren't what they used to be, lol.

I still think Milton had the brightest idea seen to date!! Cover a thick coat in duct tape. Granted it'd be hot as hell but that's a damn good barrier....although idk how loose and nimble it would leave you.
