Soon when I get more canvases and gesso, I'm going to paint my own Aurora Borealis painting, this has gotten me and inspired and fascinated by the peaceful phenomenon.
Thx I just give a try for the fun and it turn out that I learned a lot and i'm really happy with my result! you're right watching is not enough, trying by ourself is mandatory
Thank you for the part about the mist, am in the middle of combining a couple of your lessons to make a painting for my daughter and this will be perfect to just separate some of the mountains in the distance from the sea in the foreground, out of which a unicorn will hopefully be running. The sky will be the aurora borealis from this class, the horse from another and the mountains from a third. Hoping the finished painting will be enjoyed.
The stars look like they're a million miles away. :-) I also love the soft glow of blue in this painting. I guess it's the color of paint that gives it that look. (I'm guessing).
+CLIVE5ART....Oh boy, I can't wait. I hope that I haven't missed any of your paintings lately. I've been away from home. I'll try to find out but I'm not very good at the internet stuff. :-) I'm still learning. We never had the web when we were young. :-)
I'm so in love with your painting! After I was diagnosed with Parkinson i stopped painting, the way you talk and explain everything it makes me start painting again! I'm a new subscriber. Thank you!
@@CLIVE5ART Thank you I felt like I was right there in your studio painting with you! Please stop by my channel and see my Northern Lights painting I did while following your lesson! Much Love
am trying this painting on it's own in oils and wondered if the greens could be first done in white then coloured with a glaze to bring them to life, several different colours could then be incorporated in the night sky. received an oil glaze for Christmas for doing this on oils and thought this would be the perfect painting to try it out on.
Clive, I love your art and your style teachings... but the one thing I love best about your videos is YOU yourself! Listening to you makes me wanna pop by in the daytime for a cup of coffee and chat or in the evening with a bottle of Jamison's for a wee nip and talk about paint! You're one of the most personable youtubers ever! Cheers and please keep filming!
+Carole Young it's an exercise painting more to play with rather than paint I teach that way to get people to loosen up I found that helped my students when I was teaching I do these sometimes just to change things up I have plans to do a more detailed painting soon
Many people including myself try to capture the aurora on canvas but the auroras always look harsh and seem to sit on the painting. Yours look more natural, soft and misty like a real aurora. Nice job
Thank you Clive, I am wondering how to make the finishing touches on the lights like it shows on the ad picture? Did I miss a second clip? augh... almost done and lost in the lights.... help.
+Artfortheheart Painter I know it will be used in the actual lesson I was asked to do it this way for people who never painted before it's a lesson I used to encourage new painters
Clive... I love your work and your easy instructions..I do I have a question. What Liquid Clear do you use with the acrylics ... I can only find the oil base liquid clear and the clerk at the art store says that it only comes in oil and for only oil paints... Please advise on liquid clearn and liquid white ... thank you
Thanks Clive.. so your Acrylic Clear and Acrylic white is the same as the Liquid Clear and Liquid White... also how does the pricing work for Canadian Dollors... same with shipping n handling... thank you
Clive ,I think I enjoy you as much as your teachings. Only one quick question, do you paint from memory or are you looking at a study you did earlier. I paint what I see , rarely ever paint from memory. Is that not a good idea ?
For lessons I use reference or study paintings I did on occasion from memory it makes for a better lesson but use your imagination is better in your own work
Thank you so much.. Ur techniques helped me a lot especially in blending as the colors tend to dry in no time. Also, I would like to know what is the paper your are mixing you colors on and what's the liquid that's keeping paper wet?
(a tad) To a small extent; somewhat: Mark looked a tad embarrassed Late 19th century (denoting a small child): origin uncertain, perhaps from tadpole. The current usage dates from the 1940s. great painting
Hi Clive, when I pick up ;the paint on my brush I find it doesn't seem to spread very well even if I dip my brush in water it just seems to drag across the canvas that has already been treated. What am I doing wrong here
Soon when I get more canvases and gesso, I'm going to paint my own Aurora Borealis painting, this has gotten me and inspired and fascinated by the peaceful phenomenon.
The way you show the mixing of paints is clearly seen and easy way to learn. Thank you so much .

Another gorgeous one!! Thanks Clive
+Cindy Chambers your welcome glad you like another coming soon
Teal is made with phalo blue and phalo green with white added.
If you added the liquid clear on the canvas prior to adding the hue, this would have helped it blend and can shape it better.
+Artfortheheart Painter I know it will be used in the actual lesson I was asked to do it this way for people who never painted before it's a lesson I used to encourage new painters
Can you do this in the style of Bob Ross I watched him do a wonderful painting of the northern lights . Just boggles the mind.
I have seen it I'm planning to do it but when is the thing but it's on the table thank you 😊
Thanks Clive. Im excited to paint and learn alot! 😊

You are funny person! Thanks for the blending techniques :)

I can only find the oil base liquid clear and the clerk at the art store says that it only comes in oil and for only oil paints... Please advise on liquid clearn and liquid white ... thank you
He was right but I have developed my own brand for acrylics they can be bought from my shop at www.clive5art.co.uk
Thanks Clive.. so your Acrylic Clear and Acrylic white is the same as the Liquid Clear and Liquid White... also how does the pricing work for Canadian Dollors... same with shipping n handling... thank you
They work in a similar way the pricing can be calculated by using google converter the shipping is automatically added

Hi, Clive: What do you do with your used water? I think I'm not supposed to throw it down the sink. Help!
Try this th-cam.com/video/sG_wXxu7W0o/w-d-xo.html
Sir! How did make the paint stay wet on the canvas? When i paint, when i turn to take the ne t color the first paint dries! How do you do that?
Thanks for this. please can you tell me is the blending brush a special brush or just a dry brush you use for blending.
+susannah1948 just a dry brush there are brushes for blending but you can use a woman's blusher brush
Thanks!
Thank you so much.. Ur techniques helped me a lot especially in blending as the colors tend to dry in no time.

It looks like the paints are placed on a wet palette paper. Is that correct?
+MillikanVersuch yes a wet pallet
