Just finished my first Agatha Christie (A Pocketful of Rye) and loved it! Mansfield Park by Jane Austen is another favorite from the year that surprised me. Really want to try fantasy again, it used to be one of my favorite genres until a lot of it became more and more secular. Great recommendations! 😄
What a great list! I really want to read The Light Between Worlds. Some favorites for me so far this year are The Door to Door Bookstore and The Night Circus. I’m about 50 pages away from finishing my first reading of Mistborn, but that also will be on the list.
Great list of books! I haven't read any of these, but so many sound interesting. Some of the ones that sounded the most intriguing were "Saint and Monsters," "The Light Between Worlds," and all of your sci-fi recommendations. I've been wanting to get into sci-fi but haven't known where to start so I might use this video as a guide. 😆 "The Girl Who Kept the Castle" also sounds like a really fun book!
Btw just found out that the Mrs. Pollifax series is free to listen to, if you have an audible subscription. Definitely will try some out. These silent woods was my favorite so far this year.
Yay to Mrs. Pollifax on Audible, I want more people to read them! I've been curious about These Silent Woods, I'll have to put that on my list for the fall!
"I'm going to be very brief" - I say that all the time but am never brief 🤣🤣🤣 I like to talk what can I say haha! Awesome list of books. Heart of Red Blood of Blue is so good, such a unique story. Winter Heart sounds really good! Oooo Saints and Monsters also sounds really good! Oh my poor TBR .... LOL. I've read the first two Pollifax books and am IN LOVE!!! Such a great character, excited to continue the series. Agatha Christies yasssss. The Girl Who Kept the Castle sounds so fun!!
My favorites so far are Mrs Quinn's Rise to Fame by Olivia Ford The Prayer Box by Lisa Wingate Kissing Kate by K. Lyn Smith To Speak His Name by Tara Johnson The Mystery Guest by Nita Prose
These books all sound good. I had to chuckle when I heard the title, "Winter Heart", because, being a Wheel of Time fan, that's almost the title of Book 9 of that series (Winter's Heart).
Wow, so many great books! I've not read most of these, but some of them sound really good, especially the fantasy which is not normally my thing. I will have to look into those ones.
My two favorites so far are Someone Else's Bucket List and Everyone in my Family has Killed Someone. For middle grade, my favorite is The Princess Protection Program. I just got The Girl Who Kept the Castle and am eager to read it.
Favorite books this year: Rhythm of War Light Bringer Dark Age Warbreaker Mistborn Three Musketeers The Blythes are Quoted Enders Game Yumi and the Nightmare Painter Ivanhoe
I love that so many Sanderson are on this list! I love Warbreaker and feel like it's one of his underrated books. I'll have to check out the ones from here that I haven't read.
Mine are almost all fantasy too -The Witch's Heart by Genevieve Gornichec -The Midnight Girls by Alicia Jasinska -Godzilla x Kong by Greg Keyes (movie novelization) -Dragon Rider by Taran Matharu -A Restless Truth by Freya Marske -Taken by the Witch Queen by Luna Fury -The Hidden Guardian by J.D.L Rosell -Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir -The Crypt by Scott Sigler -Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See -The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston -The Lost Village by Camilla Sten
Favorite books so far this year: Volition by Chautona Havig, The Clouds Ye So Much Dread, Kingdom of Ruins by D C Marino, and Mrs. Pollifax, of course.
Yay for Mrs. Pollifax! I'll have to check those others out, you are always reading such great books! Where did you get Kingdom of Ruins? I only see it on Amazon for $57-78 . . .
I enjoyed this video so much! Thanks for sharing! The first list of fantasy books you had, are there any content warnings? Or are they all clean? No explicit scenes/innuendo, swearing or language?
Heart of Red, Blood of Blue the main character gets called into her betrothed's tent but she ends up running away, but that kind of thing is talked about a bit. If there's ever an explicit scene in a book I'll either DNF it or share it in my review. The same generally goes for swearing though that bothers me less so I notice it less. If I didn't mention it in the video there most likely isn't any.
Oohh, so many to add to my tbr! I listened to what happens next in April and it was so good!! Then in May i went on to listen to The way it should be by the same auther and it was also really good!
So many of these sound really good, and yet I've only read one of them 😅 I just checked Goodreads and, not counting re-reads, I've only read 8 five-star books this year, and none since March.
Only because I find it hilarious… I have an undiagnosed chronic illness that is causing a lot of trouble this year. Because we don’t know what it is my oldest (she’s 12 almost 13) calls the illness Gertrude 😊 some humor sure does help. I want to read the last book now.
@@ChantelReadsAllDay I think we are getting very close to a diagnosis. I will see a neurologist in July or August and I’m optimistic that they are the right specialty. ❤️ then Gertrude will have to calm down 😜
My poor TBR gets longer and longer. I'm adding them faster than I can read them.
100% in that same boat.
I only have one favorite so far this year and it's called Your Blood, My Bones. It's fantastic!!
Ok, just made a Chantel book recs list on my amazon account to make it easier to find! The Last Year of the War was great!
Haha, I hope you enjoy them when you get to them!

These books all sound good. I had to chuckle when I heard the title, "Winter Heart", because, being a Wheel of Time fan, that's almost the title of Book 9 of that series (Winter's Heart).
Ha, I actually knew that! Only because when I go to Amazon to link Winter Heart every time Winter's Heart shows up first! 😂
My TBR list just grew so much 😬 Chaos grid is now near the top.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Do you know any fantasy scifi book which is about time traveling to Future Worlds?

I have been searching high and low! Mostly on Instagram.
