I love how your cat sleeps with the books! That is so precious! 🥰
I love that you check out some books before your daughter. It's always nice to know, and to share things to talk about.
You're a real cat mom when you leave spaces esp for said cat. ❤😂
😂
my cats just knock the books off the cube they want LOL! they would love a cart!
Christy is one of my all-time faves!
I can't wait to get to it!
Captain Blubear is AMAZING nonsense! Definitely one of my favs!!!
I'm reading the third book in the City Spies series. I hope to finish it and the last two books in the series soon. I'm really enjoying them! 😃
And you are so blessed to have a book cart that is wide enough to easily fit books in two rows on each shelf😅. Mine, I might be able to fit 6 books behind my rows.
I loooooove the female friendships in Christy and I really enjoyed the retellings I’ve read by Cameron Dokey.
What a wonderfully varied summer tbr. And I adore that you’ve left the bottom free for Tolkien 🥰
Exile is so good, as is the rest of the trilogy! And for future reference, Loren's last name is pronounced Warn-uh-men-day. Happy reading! 😊
There are so many books that look really good here!
I enjoyed Christy last year, but I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of it. 😊
I read The Hidden Prince by Tessa Afshar. I liked it more than I thought I would. I plan to read some of her other books this summer.
Such a fun video!!! I wanna say thank you cuz you have given me so many ideas for books for my Mom! She loves mysteries. Is The Bullet That Missed clean?
I need to start reading Kate Stradling! I've heard such good things about her books! 😄
A Midnight Dance is soooo good! Dont worry the back tells you nothing...😂 the main trope is a surprise but thats what makes it great!
I always get momentarily confused when you reference Tolkien the cat. 😂😂
Oh, I hope you love The Rook by Steven James. It's one of my favorite series! I have his newest book on my summer TBR--Fatal Domain.
I enjoyed The Pawn series by Steven James. Adding several to my TBR.
Christy is so good! It’s based on Catherine Marshall”s mother, I believe.
Yesss Christy!!!🎉🎉🎉
I'm going to reread Pride and Prejudice for JAJ. I may read Emma. I've got some of her Juvenalia too and I'll be starting the Emma M. Lion books.
I am rereading Pride and Predjudice also!❤ it’s my favorite so I cannot wait!
@@capturedbyannamarie I only have Emma and Mansfield Park left of the completed books.🎉💗
@@Thecatladybooknook_PennyD Mansfield park is all I have left, and her shorter works. Persuasion is my second favorite. ❤️
I just looked up Jane Austen's Juvenalia, I didn't realize someone had so nicely put it into a book, but of course they would, I need to keep my eye out for that!
I loved a midnight dance! I tried the lost melody after your recommendation, and even though I didn’t think the dance theme interested me, I liked it even better than the lost melody!
My stack for the moment includes The Great Alone, Enchanted April, The Alchemist & the Thursday Murder club
Yay for The Thursday Murder Club! Enchanted April is one I keep meaning to read . . .
I loved Christie . I read it for my bookclub and read it in two days.
Oh, Christy… I read that back in the day. If I remember correctly, it was good/i enjoyed it.
Yay, good to know!
That is a lot of books! Did you say TBR for this summer? Did you mean for all summers? 🤣I plan on Emma and Summer by Edith Wharton and The Ferryman. I am sure I will add to those but they are the main ones.
My TBR for the rest of the month is The Blonde Identity, The Eternity Gate, and The Good Sister. Just finished The Queen's Rising by Rebecca Ross so I might try another of hers as well.
Evidence Not Seen was really good! But it's been a long time since I read it.
Welcome to Alberta! Also these books sound great 😃
😊
Welcome to Alberta! As for Albertans not going to the Lake I am not so sure that's true. The problem is around here if we get one nice day EVERYONE goes to the lake and you are on the beach shoulder to shoulder with everyone....as for the water...LOL...now that Is debatable, some of the water is definitely questionable, but you will still see people out there 🤣.
I have only read a couple of the books on your TBR ( The Alisa Childers and Monster). I also read Monster many years ago, but I remember it being much different than his other ones. Hopefully you enjoy it! Have fun with your TBR!😊 🌞 📚
I dnfed Ready Player One, but I liked the movie. I finished The Nightmare Virus by Nadine Brandes that has the same feel and absolutely loved it!
I am going to read My cousin Rachel, in five years, tale of Genji, lovely war, finish Kristin lavransdatter, the green mile , and pride and predjudice, and Billy summers this summer for sure. That collection of mysteries is so cool I got it on kindle right away when you talked about it!😂
Sounds like a good summer of reading! I hope you enjoy the Locked Room Mystery book!
Christy is one of my all time favorites. The audio - narrated by Kelly Martin, who plays Christy in the best (imho) version - is also excellent!
Ooh, good to know, thanks!
I enjoyed A Midnight Dance.. I had to read it for a book club but it was one I enjoyed and I don't like ballet :-P I would like to try a Peretti.. where should I start?
Some of the books I'm excited to get to (because I just decided to max out my four library cards on libby for the summer😂.)...
Tress by Brandon Sanderson
The Lamplighter by Crystal J. Bell
The Recovery Agent by Janet Evanovich
A re-read of the Han Solo trilogy by A.C. Crispin
Greetings From Witness Protection by Jake Burt
Oh man, I had the same water experience moving from Oregon to Tennessee. Water here is just gross and everyone just has pools. But I want natural moving water. It's very sad.
It's weird how one can just assume everywhere is the same and then you move and realize how good you had it in certain areas!
Girl you have a LOT of really large books on that cart! 😮 I’m scared for you. 😂 Monster was good, I think you’ll enjoy the re-read. I actually kept it. So my cart is still just library books. I put them on the top shelf in the order I bring them home, and I just grab the next one in line. But now I’m alternating one library book with one owned book, picked by spinning wheel! Success!! Monster is the only book in the last ten that I’ve kept after reading. Wait, that’s a lie. I also kept Wuthering Heights.
I have The Outsiders on my list and Mrs. Pollifax, of course. I have an ARC on Morgan L Busse's book, which comes out in August. Hmm... I'm sure I have other books I want to read, but those are at the top.
I think I want to pre-order Morgan L. Busse's book coming out this summer, I feel like it's one I'm just going to want to physically read.
@@ChantelReadsAllDay the cover on that book is gorgeous 😍
Christy - read as a teenager and let’s say it probably is not the best teen reading. 😬 I would like to read it again as an adult because I’m sure I missed a lot.
Joni - currently listening on Hoopla, it’s read by Joni and done really well.
Out of the Easy - I read this a few years ago. I enjoyed it. It wasn’t on the same level as Between Shades of Grey, but still a good story.
❤ Christy ❤ Joni ❤ .......... I read Monster long ago but can't say I loved it. Nice cat bed!
I read The House on the Gulf recently. Very good. 😊
Interesting about Albertans not liking the lakes…I wonder if they just think by comparison to the other nature it’s not that special? SK lakes aren’t much to write about home about, but they’re all we’ve got 😂
I’m reading The Lost Melody - found it at the library so finally picked it up after you’ve recommended it so many times on here! Also picking up the new Sara Brunsvold (sp? Author of Mrs. Kip) book soon!
My cat loves this cart too 😂😂😂
Captain Bluebear is as much adult as it is older child. I think you should read it first and decide. I loved it, but I don't remember if there are a few situations and stories that wouldn't be appropriate for kids.
Ooh, thanks Deea, that's good to know!
I hope you like His Majesty's Dragon! There are 9 books in the series, and in the edition you have the spines all spell out Temeraire.
I somehow ended up with a lot of big books to read this summer: Words of Radiance, The Tale of Genji, The Glass Town Game, and East of Eden. And I really want to finish all of them.
Ooh, I had no idea about the spines, how cool!
You gave Naomi Novak another chance? As you DNFed Spinning Silver by her. Let me know how it is 🙃 and thanks for the video ✝
Yes, I just found Spinning Silver boring, definitely willing to try more by her. Plus, this book was gifted to me.
@ChantelReadsAllDay ahh I see, and gifted books are usually the best kind haha let us know how this one goes as I loved the idea of Spinning Silver, but like you I also DNFed it.
I really enjoyed Naomi Novik's "Uprooted." Alisa Childers's books are amazing! I haven't gotten to that book yet, but "Another Gospel" was brilliantly written. Oh and just for help, her name is pronounced Ah-lisa Chill-ders. I know you're always worried about pronouncing author's names correctly. 😁
Thanks for the help with her name!
