      B roll is a helluva drug. Seriously though the website only has 3d renders and optimum only really shows the silver version on his review so was hoping to see some better shots of the black version here. No big issue I’m sure we’ll also see much more soon but some nice b roll would of been swell

      @@adpt_music that's the worst kind of advise to give someone interested in a ncase case. There is some kind of tradition at ncase to show their cases, especially the ones in dark color, in a way so you can't say how they actually look like. Its the same with every release. If you ever had bought one, you would know that.

    Thanks for this. Having recently upgraded some of the components in my M1 I've been struggling with temps. With a 5700X3d (Noctua C14) and 4070 Super, even with a deshroud mod on the 4070 (2 * Noctua A12-25 intake) I've been hitting hotspots on the GPU of 90C+. The only way of taming temps has been to turn my case on its side; which dropped 10C. Having seen this review I'll be getting an M2 and going inverted.

  • @MrOnlinenow
    @MrOnlinenow 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Thank you for your video. After watching it, I decided to order one as well. In your video, you mentioned the issue of interference between the psu cable and the front panel IO connectors. However, after looking at the build examples provided on the NCASE website, in both the Level 1 and Level 5 configurations, the psu is not close to the front IO panel. Based on this, I speculate that either the IO connectors do not rely on the power bracket and front panel for mounting, or an additional power bracket was used to secure the front IO connectors in these two configurations.

    • @MachinesMore
      @MachinesMore  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I only had to use the IO bracket for further reinforcement in the flipped/inverted config- other configs will not be adjacent to the front IO. I am told that something is changing in the production version though, so will update when I see the change!

    • @MrOnlinenow
      @MrOnlinenow 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MachinesMore Thank you. Today, I watched that part of your video again and realized that my initial understanding was incorrect. In fact, in the inverted mode, the power supply bracket needs to rely on the front I/O panel for support, not the other way around. The inverted installation and mATX support are significant selling points for this case, and Level 1 listed on the NCASE website reflects this. I believe they should address this issue.

    • @MrOnlinenow
      @MrOnlinenow 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MachinesMore Today, NCASE released an installation guide video. Through the video, I finally understood why NCASE believes there is no conflict between the power supply interface and the front panel I/O. The position of the power connector on the SF1000L used in the video is different from the SFX V1000 in your video. Since it's difficult to define left and right, in short, the power interface of the SF1000L is on the side closer to the motherboard tray, while the SFX V1000's is on the side further from the motherboard tray. Therefore, it might conflict with the front panel I/O.

    • @MrOnlinenow
      @MrOnlinenow 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Additionally, from the newly released video, it seems that the front panel I/O has been redesigned, presumably to address this issue.

    • @MrOnlinenow
      @MrOnlinenow 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MachinesMore I received the case I pre-ordered and, to my dismay, discovered that NCASE indeed addressed the issue. However, they did so by removing the passthrough port, plugging the front panel port with plastic, and updating the product page to change from 2A2C to 2A1C. Sigh... Regardless, the quality of your video is excellent.

    Hallo @MachinesMore, I really wonder:The D12L is asymmetrical. Is there any measurable difference in temperatures or noise depending on which side the block with the larger fins is facing? In a classic layout with rear exhaust I guess the larger fins would naturally be facing the rear or the case. But if I switch to rear intake, would it be better to only turn around the fan or should I turn around the whole cooler block, so that the part with the larger fins is facing the inside of the case? Did you every try this out?

    • @chrisrussellca
      @chrisrussellca 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MachinesMore well from a distance it’s good but the gaps are a bit inconsistent and I have one between the rear panel and side panel on the CPU side that’s really distracting. It’s probably an issue with this unit. The quick release latch and on the GPU side collides with my 4080S FE, which I fixed by 3D printing a low profile latch. I have some rough areas of anodized finish inside the side panel but can be overlooked seeing that you rarely open the side panels, unless you’re me. My biggest gripe is its lack of liquid cooling support while being bigger than the FormD T1. Having just 1 case fan is also hard to justify, especially seeing that you have to install the motherboard upside down playing the top of the cooler further down from the top of the case. For me this creates a pocket of warm air right near the m.2 slot. It could’ve really used a second case fan. The T1 can fit two T-30s. I think the case is beautiful and is designed well in that aspect but it just falls short in some critical areas for me. Usually Ncase are slightly too big for me but I think I can find some ways to fill the case, empty unused space is my pet peeve.

    The NCASE M2 is a premium alternative to the Cooler Master Nr200. Its 15.4L, while the Nr200 is 18L. It will still fit large gpus because of the thinner, yet sturdier, materials. The NCASE M2 will save more space, have more versatility with different components than the Nr200, look, and perform better too. It's definitely a worthy upgrade for a case option.

  • @DustinGorman
    @DustinGorman 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I'm so excited for this. I passed on the M1 because it seemed a little dated, and a few of the cons didn't seem worth it for me in 2024. That said, the M1 evo didn't seem to be a significant enough upgrade for me to jump on it. Now, the M2's new features/fixes, and price have got me sold!
    All I want to know now is whether I have to order ALL of the things separately like PSU bracket, riser, and all of the other things. I just wanna know what comes in the box so I don't double order things and have to return things.
    So looking forward to this. It should be here right around my birthday, so I'll schedule a rebuild for then. And to think, I had just cracked open my Lian Li A3.

    Could you please do a video featuring the matx build options? This feature is really appealing to me, as i play DCS World flight sim, which requires a ton of rear i/o. I've been using a usb hub with my itx board to remedy this, but I truly detest the hub being on my desk. I think this feature is what really sets this case apart from other sff cases, so it would be nice to see a more granular look at it. That gigabyte board you used in this video is the one I've been looking at using for a matx build, but I'd rather keep it sff if possible. I'm currently in an M1 v6.1, and I've enjoyed it for years with a couple different builds.

    • @robertmajors1737
      @robertmajors1737 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @MachinesMore It takes keyboard and mouse, flight stick and throttle, head tracking, dedicated usb for my wired headset dac power. So like 6 or 7, but I don't want to have to unplug my monitor's usb hub (keyboard and mouse for the cost of one rear usb port), my wireless headset dongle, or my speakers' usb power, so I'll end up needing like 7 or 8 from the rear total (I may be forgetting something). As you know, not many itx boards can accommodate this.

    Wouldn't the Noctua C14S heatsink with a side mounted 140mm P14 Max fan or 120mm T30 fan be the best heatsink for this case like it was in your NR200 videos? The C14S in that setup tied or beat the much more powerful Noctua U12A in your tests so wouldn't it leave the smaller D12L in the dust?
    With the C4-SFX case you could install the side bracket fan when using the D12L so you could use the D12L intake combined with a P14 Max side bracket fan for CPU / GPU exhaust, but the NCASE M2 loses the ability to install the side bracket fan when the D12L is installed?
    So I like the D12L, but it really seems like a less than ideal fit for this case - likely to perform worse than the C14S temperature wise while also giving up the side bracket CPU / GPU exhaust fan? Using a shorter Peerless Assassin Mini with a side bracket mounted P14 Max CPU / GPU exhaust fan or a 280 AIO also seem like good options.
    Can't wait to watch your NCASE M2 build guide!

      @@Schluggaluggas W360 is the singular constant behind a number of high profile SFF Case releases, dramas, and failures in the past several years.
      The earliest I can recall hearing about is that with SSUPD, where he assisted with design of the Meshlicious and now its been caught in legal drama, leading SSUPD to rename it the Meshroom and him to iterate on the design for the FF1 with Lian Li.
      Before that, he got involved with 3FC, the designer of the FormD T1, and assisted with funding marketing and planning, but more recently wanted to end production of the case because the profits weren't there, leading to drama between him and 3FC. The pair has now split, with 3FC still selling the original 2.1 version, and W360 taking his copy to a lower tier factory and rebranding it the "Ncase FormD T1 2.5" - it's the same case with minor half-baked changes with lower QC and quality.
      Lastly and most recently, he was also partnered with Necere, the designer of the Ncase M1 V1-V6, and tried to merge the case with the design sensibilities and flatpak priorities of the FormD T1, and came out with the Ncase M1 Evo, which wasn't wide enough to support many of the most popular modern GPUs in reference mode despite being marketed as doing so.
      Since that whole fiasco - which still hasn't been corrected - Necere has left Ncase (his own company) and is no longer partnered with W360, who has rebranded the M1 Evo update as the M2 to get around any promises made to give discounts to people who were burned by the misleading marketing of the M1 Evo V1.
      .... That's the simplified version - but he also tried to scape the entire SFF Gurus discord for AI data which lead to a mass exodus of the server to a new server, among other shady things.

    It's too bad the angled front panel is gone, I thought it gave the case more personality, now it's just another mesh box. And the layout of the front I/O triggers me, I'd much rather the 2 type-A ports were on one side and 2 type-c ports on the other, this way it looks silly imo, but that's just me.

      Different size and user base segments. If you are fine with the A3 dimensions then the price is really good for what you get. The M2 has higher quality and lower volume while enabling a lot of space efficiency, it's still a boutique case, just being offered at a lower price than we usually see.

    • @MachinesMore

      Very similar. The biggest difference I would consider would be cooling- for T1 a 240 would be disproportionately better than the small top down coolers, whereas with the M2 the air cooling can be a much more compelling and cost effective option, even though a 240/280 would still be better thermals wise.

    I wonder if D12L would be better exhaust with a rear exhaust. I imagine that might help GPU thermals, while having minimal impact on CPU.

    • @MachinesMore
      @MachinesMore  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      With the directional exhaust from the FE cards it tends to be a big penalty for the CPU cooling. It’s just that the cooler is so close to the flow through section. With a side exhausting card I can see the rear exhaust being a choice.

    • @GlassPup
      @GlassPup 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MachinesMore With the asymmetry of the D12L and even Noctua saying fans pushing is more effective, I think you’d want the best airflow over the larger portion of the cooler. • @MachinesMore
      @MachinesMore  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      The inverted build wouldn’t necessarily be a worse airflow setup vs an upright/classic build. In a case like this where ventilation is ample, there are a lot of configs that will work. My primary concern specific to the test build was not forcing the cooler to take in exhaust directly. With a different type of card a rear exhaust wouldn’t be a bad option either.

    Even though this case supports mATX, there are way better mITX boards available than mATX. Most mATX boards lack alot of good components (e.g onboard soundchip, wlan, max ram-speed etc). If you compare the "best" boards of mATX vs "best" boards of mITX, you often have a 1:2 selectionlist, maybe with SFF going to support mATX future vendors will focus on more enthusiasts boards in this size :)
