I always felt like the "cat lover" and "dog lover" traits would have been better as likes/dislikes cause it feels like a waste of a trait slot otherwise. Would be nice to play around with that concept, say for example have a cat like but dog dislike and have it interfere with your interactions with those animals. So dogs and your Sim are tense around each other if you dislike them.
I would LOVE to see them do an attraction system like the one that the creator of whicked whims made, but they would definitely have to give them some credit for it. It would add so much to the game and give you some direction in dating rather than just picking a random sim, that storytelling aspect would be amazing!! Sometimes with the mod my sims have an attraction to someone while they’re in a relationship and it’s just sooo fun and messy lmao
Not gonna lie, the Sims team has been really stepping it up this past year. Since Eco Lifestyle they've gotten a lot better. (Yes, Batu was a thing after EL, but I'm sure that pack helped some people get into the game for the first time.) Since last year they've been listening to their fans more and this patch shows it.
And that's so awesome! Honestly I still can't believe how they improved the game! Although it did took a LOT of hate and people leaving, but man, I'm so excited! Still not going to give up on my "don't but more packs" rule though...
I think a lot of this is a result of fearing the competition of Paralives. A lot of the features Paralives announced (bunk beds, ladders, more flexibility in building, personality systems etc) they would include in their game, The Sims 4 has now started adding in their games..
i play on console and the scooting thing has forever worked for me, you just had to click on the side of the bed you wanted them to sleep on. but im glad it works for everyone now !
I forgot the update was the big one and I thought it was a normal small update. I started playing a save where my sim is a painter and it asked me if my sim likes painting. I just clicked yes without thinking then it gave me an option to go into CAS. I said yes again and I gasped so loud my mom came in and asked me if I was okay. Its the last day of school and im so happy
It would be cool if they implemented attraction preferences and younger teen sims could start to figure out their preferences as they meet new people. Maybe on a first date you can ask each other questions and at the end get a compatibility rating based on likes and dislikes
Yeah, I totally play that bc there was a mod wicked/wonderful whims with personality and dating content but wicked whims is a mainly s*x mod. If u wanted the personality and dating system without the graphic s*x u would have to take it out all the animations one by one or download wonderful whims and in that mod, the attraction system didn't work on teens. Not to mention that bc it was a mod so console players couldn't have any of that.
And full customization in everything (clothes, furniture etc) like the good old Sims 3 style. Really limited options is what annoys me the most in Sims 4.
As someone who constantly criticizes this games gameplay, this is a massive step in the right direction, Im very much a builder now but the fact that they are updating gameplay instead of just adding window updates, ladders, black and white swatches is very refreshing. This all should have been done years ago but hopefully they are learning. I would love to actually enjoy playing in the builds I make. I do think emotions and traits still need a complete overhaul though. As it stands now, they make the game feel too repetitive, Hopefully they get changed too but im not holding my breath.
I think the biggest change the emotion system really needs is for the uncomfortable moodlets to amplify negative emotions the way happy moodlets amplify positive emotions. I think that would be a pretty easy fix. Other than that, the emotion system doesn't need changes anywhere near as much as traits do.

In a save I had a while ago my sim got engaged to this guy and when I moved him in I looked at his family tree and my mans had twin toddlers with one of the Goth’s.
Yeah, it sucks that it took so long... I kinda was ready to give up on the game, but that makes me feel like maybe not all it lost. They seem to really try improve the game.
Now we just need an attraction feature so that my sims have preferences and some romances are harder than others. I know MCC has seggsual preferences but I am on PS4 and cannot get mods :( so every update is a game changer for me.
It's a shame that there are no new red hair colours, like one or two lighter red shades or a strawberry blonde kinda swatch would be nice. Especially since this hair colour isn't really represented at the moment
Yes, it would have been fantastic to get a few more red hair options because there is a wide variety of different red tones in real life that aren't really represented in the sims right now 🤔
I really love watching Kayla's reaction, her enthusiasm is so contagious. It's like if you are having second thoughts on having that certain pack it will vanish.
I'm just glad I can set a sim's activity preferences without having to define a sim's whole personality around that. Like setting a sim as enjoying working out without taking up a trait space with the active trait (and without making them energized all the time) edit as I'm watching this: THE SCOOT

“Could you have like an attraction system?” I hate that this is a question for the sims 4 in 2021. WHY is this still an issue in 2021. The sims 2 already had an attraction system why does the sims 4 STILL not have one.
The only negative I see is people complaining that sims won't go out with theirs because they are not attracted. Honestly I love the attraction system from 2. The fact I could make my simself well me, is what I loved about it. Combine that with hobbies and interests. My Simself was very similar to me.

I would love to see a new type of like/dislike added for some of the existing packs, maybe not all of them, but certainly for things like occults, maybe worlds or weather!
I was thinking the same thing. Based on the packs someone has, there should be likes/dislikes based on those packs. Do they like the beach, going on an adventure, eating new foods, etc. Hopefully that's something they are already working on to be added later.
@@imjuliewaters they already do have likes and dislikes exclusive to certain packs. Snowy Escape for example has skiing and snowboarding as options in the hobbies section.
@@daisythemappley they’ve already had that for a long time. If you talk to a sim under the friendly section, you can say what weather you like/dislike and it’ll affect their mood.
This ^^^ Some of this stuff isn't really exciting to me, it's more like "Wow, why wasn't that in-game from the beginning. But I do like the like and dislike thing.
For the attractions system you will have to download a Mod. One that works well is Wonderful Whims (Not to get it confused with Wicked Whims) it allows you to base attraction on sims you've dated or create your own. It lets you pick from things like hair and eye color, body shape, voice, etc. It also gives your sims the ability to use birth control and have periods. Plus it does take up much space from what I've seen once I downloaded it.
@@imagine_big9398 Nope. There are a lot of things that come as expansions and always have that should have been base game I can agree with that. Weather was originally going to be in Sims 2 base. However Like the Seasons packs that have come out with every Sims game since Sims 2 Seasons has been one of the most important expansions to get released. Because it does what an expansion should do and that is expand the gameplay. Though yes I think we can agree alot of those should be base game. But all Sim games since the original have had a "Hot Date". Nightlife, Late Night etc. These have actually become among the most important Expansion packs to get because they actually Expand a lot of the social actions and the core gameplay of these games. So Sims 4 getting a "Hot Date" Expansion is nothing new. It's how they would expand upon it is what is important.
Oh my god, thank goodness they fixed the cooking thing. My sims would be surrounded by white cake and stress reliever brews made by friends and family that would come over.
It's just so exciting to me that my hair colour now actually exists in the sims xD When trying to create me I don't have to choose whether I want to be more blonde or more brunette I can just be a little in between like I am in real life and I love it xD

That would be really cool! For certain foods and maybe some sims feel worse in certain seasons because of oak mold or pollen! I think that would also be an opportunity to add more to the doctor/hospital part of the game.

Good idea! I remember in the sims 3, some of your sims would get seasonal allergies and you could go to the hospital to get an allergy shot. In the Sims 4, under the "order medicine" thingy, your sims could order allergy meds in there!
In the Sims 2 they had turn ons and turn offs that affected the dating aspect. And also couples hugged in bed while sleeping. I loved that sooo much :(
This update is such a nice add on, the new swatches are SO pretty, and FINALLY I can make myself with an ACTUAL blonde/platinum hair color! AND I can make my fave color pink! This is literally SO wanted😍
OMG, they finally fixed the fruit and veggies on the floor issue! Thank god! I'm more excited about that than anything else. I play with 7 children/toddlers and my entire house is covered in apples and spinach. And it's been a glitch for me for over a year.
These were so absolutely necessary! I currently use Wonderful Whims for an attraction system because it is such a small thing that adds so much to my gameplay. When my legacy era finds his childhood best friend beautiful, it builds my story and makes that family so much more fun to play! It is little things like an attraction system that will make gameplay better. Slice of life also lets you ask about family, income, etc. I really want a lot of effort and passion put into this part of the game, mods can be great, but if the sims team will actually put something in the base game it excites me. I used to be a console player, so I know the pain of playing with the bare minimum. The sims 4 has an amazing CAS and Build system, but I always feel like gameplay becomes more disappointing over time. In my opinion, we don't need massive packs with crazy mechanics, little things including this new preference system can change gameplay so much because it will affect every sims family you play no matter what their lives are like.
LilSimsie, I can't be the only one thinking this but it's about time you go back and give your Simsie Save some TLC with this amazing patch and others that you skipped. You have so much you could do to improve your save with how many packs and new things that have been added. I know alot of people use your save including me and we would greatly appreciate it!
Honestly I hope in a future patch they update items not clicking onto the gird when putting them on surfaces. That would make furnishing and decorating houses a lot easier.

Agree! Specially if you want to create a sim that likes both, then you'd have to use up two slots

I would love a new dating game pack that brings back the attraction system, online dating and maybe a small new world with 4/5 new community lots.

Right! Cause I was playing Sims 4 seasons and the flower bunny came to my house and I was dating the bunny and I asked them to leave and the game said “Sim is already leaving” the bunny stayed there for 24 hours

I'm just glad I can set a sim's activity preferences without having to define a sim's whole personality around that. Like setting a sim as enjoying working out without taking up a trait space with the active trait (and without making them energized all the time)

Honestly I love the attraction system from 2. The fact I could make my simself well me, is what I loved about it. Combine that with hobbies and interests. My Simself was very similar to me.

I would love to see a new type of like/dislike added for some of the existing packs, maybe not all of them, but certainly for things like occults, maybe worlds or weather!

I was thinking the same thing. Based on the packs someone has, there should be likes/dislikes based on those packs. Do they like the beach, going on an adventure, eating new foods, etc. Hopefully that's something they are already working on to be added later.
@@imjuliewaters they already do have likes and dislikes exclusive to certain packs. Snowy Escape for example has skiing and snowboarding as options in the hobbies section.
@@daisythemappley they’ve already had that for a long time. If you talk to a sim under the friendly section, you can say what weather you like/dislike and it’ll affect their mood.

It said the likes/dislikes system was for children and older, so I don't think it applies to them.

It's sad that everyone is getting excited over something that should've been in the game from the beginning not years after being released.
This ^^^ Some of this stuff isn't really exciting to me, it's more like "Wow, why wasn't that in-game from the beginning. But I do like the like and dislike thing.
For the attractions system you will have to download a Mod. One that works well is Wonderful Whims (Not to get it confused with Wicked Whims) it allows you to base attraction on sims you've dated or create your own. It lets you pick from things like hair and eye color, body shape, voice, etc. It also gives your sims the ability to use birth control and have periods. Plus it does take up much space from what I've seen once I downloaded it.

@@imagine_big9398 Nope. There are a lot of things that come as expansions and always have that should have been base game I can agree with that. Weather was originally going to be in Sims 2 base. However Like the Seasons packs that have come out with every Sims game since Sims 2 Seasons has been one of the most important expansions to get released. Because it does what an expansion should do and that is expand the gameplay. Though yes I think we can agree alot of those should be base game. But all Sim games since the original have had a "Hot Date". Nightlife, Late Night etc. These have actually become among the most important Expansion packs to get because they actually Expand a lot of the social actions and the core gameplay of these games. So Sims 4 getting a "Hot Date" Expansion is nothing new. It's how they would expand upon it is what is important.
I miss from the sims 3 when you clicked on the gossip interaction you could actually get gossip from the game! I want that back so badly 😫

That would be really cool! For certain foods and maybe some sims feel worse in certain seasons because of oak mold or pollen!
I think that would also be an opportunity to add more to the doctor/hospital part of the game.

Good idea! I remember in the sims 3, some of your sims would get seasonal allergies and you could go to the hospital to get an allergy shot. In the Sims 4, under the "order medicine" thingy, your sims could order allergy meds in there!

This update is such a nice add on, the new swatches are SO pretty, and FINALLY I can make myself with an ACTUAL blonde/platinum hair color! AND I can make my fave color pink! This is literally SO wanted😍
OMG, they finally fixed the fruit and veggies on the floor issue! Thank god! I'm more excited about that than anything else. I play with 7 children/toddlers and my entire house is covered in apples and spinach. And it's been a glitch for me for over a year.

Honestly, as a newish part time player, having sims not cook every 5 minutes is very appealing.
I opened sims without knowing that it was that day and I literally stood up because I was so happy!!
These were so absolutely necessary! I currently use Wonderful Whims for an attraction system because it is such a small thing that adds so much to my gameplay. When my legacy era finds his childhood best friend beautiful, it builds my story and makes that family so much more fun to play! It is little things like an attraction system that will make gameplay better. Slice of life also lets you ask about family, income, etc. I really want a lot of effort and passion put into this part of the game, mods can be great, but if the sims team will actually put something in the base game it excites me. I used to be a console player, so I know the pain of playing with the bare minimum. The sims 4 has an amazing CAS and Build system, but I always feel like gameplay becomes more disappointing over time. In my opinion, we don't need massive packs with crazy mechanics, little things including this new preference system can change gameplay so much because it will affect every sims family you play no matter what their lives are like.
LilSimsie, I can't be the only one thinking this but it's about time you go back and give your Simsie Save some TLC with this amazing patch and others that you skipped. You have so much you could do to improve your save with how many packs and new things that have been added. I know alot of people use your save including me and we would greatly appreciate it!
