I've never been able to climb ladders, due to disability, and I thought the houses I built with one ladder were bad. I was wrong.
I think i would be clinic insane living in a place like this, no one raised there can be normal

I once lived in a townhouse that had 2 levels under the ground level. plus 2 floors on-top. was super cool, I always wish I could move back into that house BC it was just astonishing.

Literally thinking about carrying my groceries up two ladders to put them away and then cooking dinner and either taking dinner up a ladder to eat at a table, down two ladders to eat and watch TV or down 5 ladders to eat in bed is killing me.

Luckily Sims have butt compartments to put their plates of food, and a few hundred other things, in.

Draw distance is so much easier to load underground than aboveground though. From programming and publication accessibility standpoints it makes much more sense to have basements than floor levels.

Living in this house for ten generations is a whole new challenge itself.
This was how I built homes in sims 3, except I didn't do the above-ground levels besides a single room. I had no idea how to make a house look good, so I just focused on expanding my basements for rooms I wanted my Sims to have 😅 don't have to worry about a house looking weird if it's just a box with a door!
Imagine one day being able to build an apartment complex where you can have multiple sims families live in

I actually did it hahaha i Build a home with mutipile Apartments and locked the Doors for the Different people so they only use their Apartments. It was a fun but complicated build.

A pretty common problem in really old apartment buildings in Germany, also their typical wall height is equal to the highest wall in the Sims 4, r.i.p. A friend of mine capitulated and didn't even bother to buy a kitchen for his apartment lmao

If you ever thought climbing down a bunk bed ladder to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night was inconvenient... this is just cruel and unusual sim torture.
All my adult brain kept thinking is “imagine how hard it would to get all your furniture in that house using ladders” 🤣😂

@@-._.-o-._.- I would say the bathroom stuff would be more annoying, cause you have to be extremely careful not to break anything
On the above ground levels the windows could be removed to allow appliances like the fridge and stove to be moved in. Everything else is either small or can be assembled inside like the beds and tables. It would be a pain in the behind to install everything, especially more fragile stuff like the bathroom porcelains, but it's not impossible.
I wouldn't even bother renting or buying the home.. I have furniture I want to use 😆

Lilsimsie made me want to play the Sims and when I did, I was disappointed all the nice looking furniture weren't the most functional.

you can’t stack a ladder on top of each other because in real life if the ladder went on and on for 8 stories, if you slipped you would fall down 8 stories and die.

I've made a very similar tower tiny home. Each layer was offset from the one under it and used little balconies on the open spaces under the overhangs. Turned out really cute!

Realistically I’d hope there would be like a dumb waiter or something? Hopefully? And a trash/laundry chute. But that’s not available in the sims yet :(

simsie worried about having storage in a house in a game where people can literally have entire gardens, frogs, computers, photos and more in their inventories
Harvest all a few times, and you have over 500 of every crop in your inventory... And even more in the fridge. Then, over 20 of each frogs, crystals, metals and elements and 1000's of photos, sculptures and paintings. And, if your Sim is a magic user, don't forget all the potions.

Never knew that you can get a negative emotion from a poorly decorated house, I always put so much decoration in my building that my sims are always happy😂😂
The upstairs part of that house would be so hot and stuffy because of all those windows letting sunlight and heat in combined with the fact that hot air rises lmao
Yep, it would require either a vent on the roof or to open the windows so they can _breathe_ . Alternative: home sauna.
For the sake of the oxygen levels of the people sleeping in tiny room four stories below ground with four people breathing the same air for 8-10 hours per day, I'm choosing to believe this house has a banging ventilation and AC system.
If someone would grow up in this house they are gonna have:
1. 100 scars from falling
2. Maybe be stronger from that much climbing
3. Hate on their parents for doing that shi-......

can you imagine needing to clime 2 ladders with groceries to get to you kitchen, or needing to go 3 ladders down with trash just so you can through it outside, or even being thirsty in the middle of the night and needing to climb 7 ladders just to get a cup of water and again 7 ladders to go back down

Not sure if you would even be able to get rid of the trash lol I placed a laundry basket in a bedroom tower once that wasn't accessible via ladder and my Sim wasn't able to take it to the washing machine, had to do that manually

You can build 3 floors only for the ladders and in the end a secret torture chamber or a secret lab if your Sim is in the Scientist Career or to keep all the things your Sim steals if he/she is a clepto, with a security door that only he/she can enters, endless opportunities.

This is actually one of my favorite builds I've seen. Like, really all creative.
I’m so excited to see this video from you! I built a house that was just 3 3x3 rooms stacked on each other and it was a NIGHTMARE to make actually functional. The amount of play testing, squeezing things closer and then testing it again, tabbing between levels to fix the ladders, and having to redo things that worked two seconds ago was ridiculous. I finally caved and gave myself some balconies to save my sanity!
if this house was an Airbnb I would TOTALLY stay there
i do think it'd be fun to stay at for like, a day. maybe a week
I'd lov to see this with maximum wall height. I could easily imagine this as a bunker with a watchtower on top. Would fit into the Strangerville aesthetic. Or maybe a wizard tower with a dungeon.

You could maybe use semaj's trick and make a dip into the ground so you can still have windows downstairs at least one story. Also an outdoor dining area could give you more room if the kitchen was on the main level.

I found out recently that sims will actually scoot to their assigned sides of the bed if you click the energy button to make them auto-solve their needs and its revolutionary

This reminds me of a book I read as a kid where the house was described as basically what you just built. That’s a good memory, it was one of my favorite books as a kid!

I recently found your channel and it's been really inspiring me to try to be more creative with my builds! Though I might have been watching too much Sims content recently cause I had a real funky dream just now.
I'm about to ramble about it, so hold on to your hats if you keep reading, this was a wild ride.
There was a new world added in the Sims. The lots were sort of similar to City Living and Eco Lifestyle because like in City Living there were Lot traits you couldn't change and like in Eco Lifestyle, the neighborhoods would be able to improve over time. SO if you were like me, you could pick a lot that made plants grow faster at the cost of having a bunch of hungry animals constantly trying to steal your veggies. But then there was the weird thing.
There were underground neighborhoods. Like, an entire functional space to build underground. This particular neighborhood under mine was shaped like a sunken cruise ship (I don't know how it got there either) and there was something weirdly sinister about it as I explored. No one lived down there, but the lots were furnished in a functionable manner. Some were furnished especially nicely, too. There was one lot however that had an entire wall knocked down and lead deeper into the cave system... never figured out what that was all about before I woke up.
Anyway, I blame the stupid "sims autonomously keep making food then forgetting about it and also prank their own toilets in their one bathroom house" glitches for that experience.
This may be my favorite house that you've done. I NEED more homes like this.
I literally almost fainted when the elevator in my building broke and had to go up 7 flights of stairs, so I can't imagine living here lmao
My sister in laws old apartment was on the 13th floor and the elevator constantly broke. Went to visit while I was pregnant(I was about 8 months with twins) in August. I was like nope
I live on the 12th floor and one time I came back to no power. No elevators and no emergency lights in the stairwell. It was one of the worst days of my life.

These ladders aren't glitchy. You can't just literally make your sim go through the ground. Cos around your basement it's not just void, but ground or some kind of terrain 😂 Does Kayla want them to dig through the ground to reach lower levels? 😂
I was looking for a comment that addressed this! I think bc she disguised the outer walls of the basements, she couldn’t tell that she was trying to make the ladders go into the ground lol

I really want to try this challenge but I'd never survive the tiny home build. I might try it on one teir larger.
You can make an attic as a fifth floor. All you need it for the roof to be steep enough. Having a bulging roof can help.
Activate bb.moveobject on, and you CAN put windows in the basement. It even allow underground landscaping.

Amazing how dividing the space by multiple floors makes it seem a lot bigger than if it were all laid out flat. I might actually have to use this or try my own and fit it into one of my sims' stories!

You can actually sneak in 5 functional, above ground floors by having stairs that lead to a rooftop terrace (use the roof - flat [shape] and deck features). If you make your walls elsewhere, you can move them to the terrace to make extra fences that can go around the stairs that lead up to it. With this trick, you can make a 9 story sims home!
When tiny living came out my smart brain thought that you could just live in a really tall house! I forgot about stairs and how big each room should be 🤦🏽♀️

I would've designed it as:
• Below ground (very bottom floor): master bedroom / parents' bedroom
• Below ground (2nd from bottom): bathroom with just a sink and at _least_ two toilets separated by doors for privacy (so both can share)
• Below ground (3rd from bottom): kids' bedroom with bunk beds
• Below ground (just under the first floor): desk area / computer room / play room
• First floor (walk-in entry above ground): living room with big TV on wall
• Second floor (above ground): full kitchen
• Third floor (above ground): dining room
• Fourth floor (top floor): full bathroom with shower
I wish I could build it for real, but that's what I would do 😄
