James, I just want to thank you for your comment. Putting together my shopping list for replacing a downspout, and have spent the last half hour researching out the right type of screw before stumbling on your comment. Thanks again!
🦋 would you use the same one and a half inch screw to attach a vinyl downspout clip to the side of the building? I’m trying these out for the first time and they seem to hold the down spout in place really good I just don’t know if I use the same size screw and same kind of screw for that. The reason I like this is because I do not want any screws in the downspout for the exact reason that you mentioned because just the tiniest little point of that screw catches something on it and it everything gets stuck. It’s happened to many times.
I'm honestly not sure. We see lots of drainage / rot problems arise from using seamed gutters such as vinyl so I've never installed or recommended them. I'd assume they would work but just not sure as I don't have experience.
Clear answer, straight to the point, no BS. Love it!
Glad to help
Thank you so much. Great video. Kudos for not speaking too quickly or having music blasting in the background.
Thank you. Going to buy a few to fix a gutter downspout that came off the house.
Thanks Neil. Great informative video!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks dude, you saved me so much time 😎
Thanks! Just what I needed.

What about for an older stucco home? Good video btw
Hellz yeah bro
LoL the thumbnail of this video threw me off. I'm thinking isn't a 1-1/2" screw inside your downspout too long? LoL 🤣

Thanks Neil for this video. I am getting set to screw together a downspout to an elbow What size metal drill bit do you recommend?
1/4" hex bit with 1/4" screws
To screw to fiber cement siding, are 1 1/2 inch screws long enough ? Do I need the screws to go into the studs behind the siding ?
1 1/2 inch screws will be fine for fiber cement siding like James Hardie board... We do it all the time
@@chappellgutter do you mount just to cement siding or do you have to hit the studs behind it ? Thank you for reply it is hard to find any info on it
