    The roots were terrible when we were putting in this underground buried downspout, thanks to a silver maple growing right in the middle of this yard. They're aggressive trees and crush pipes of any kind. Our number one goal is to build our customers an underground buried downspout system, French drain, yard drain - you name it - we want it to last them a lifetime. We spare no expense. When you want it done right the first time give French Drain Man a call at 248-505-3065.

    I have always struggled with water in our area, never realized how poor the previous owners had done trying to take care of these fairly simple issues! Never so thankful to have come across your page, I have a DIY Downspout kit on the way from you!
    I've watched some of your vides, you say NOT to put a catch basin in if your downspout is near a tree. Unfortunately I have one that I need to run and will be tough to get away from the Maple tree it is near, is it better to not have a catch basin and just slope enough and clean it out over time at the pop up? It will be 25-30' from house to get desired slope. Thanks again for all your videos!

    • @FRENCHDRAINMAN
      @FRENCHDRAINMAN  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Install a catch basin 3 feet from the house. If the tree poses a threat that close to the house, you will have bigger problems in the future. Tape the connections and do not drill holes in the catch basin. Thank you for your business and support.

    When I had a concrete patio installed, there were several underground system installed to handle the drainage from the gutters. Two run under the pation and the third just runs underground. None of them has ever worked correctly. For one, the rain water just pours over the side of the gutter and for the other two, I have no clue where the water is going. Not dumping over the top of the gutter but also not coming out of the popup either. Don't know if it's bad installation, gutters need replacing or a combination of the two. Unfortunately, you aren't in my area, NC, or I would check you out.

During the inspection, the waterproof tech had a moisture meter device he put on wall near the floor. The company would repair all cracks in the outside walls, apply fabricated mastic (waterproofing) to walls, apply heavy-duty industrial plastic to mastic forming "J" channel, install a new sub-soil drain tile packed with gravel, seal basement windows if needed, and seal any other cement if needed. This would also mean opening up my concrete floor.

    Why go so fanxy underground. Here in Canada we would do a simple above ground extension pipe ranging from 6'-10'. It's $17 for a 10' length of 3x3 aluminum. No need to over complicate it

    Oh look, another TH-camr who has to take an angry, denigrating tone over the mistakes a previous person did, instead of approaching it more as a teacher.
    But hey, message received that YOU know how to do it right.
    I get it can be aggravating, but then again you must not have taken chances and made “dumb” mistakes in the process.
