Name one, only one! good EU book. Like realy good piece of literature... I don't think there is one. Yes, as young fan i've read tons of fanfiction and EU books, but they all seems quite cheesy nowadays. And not in a good way like original SW movies I love.
@@yeniczek What do you consider a "really good" piece of literature? War And Peace? Animal Farm? Hamlet? If so, no, none of them are on that level. But they're still worth it if, unlike you, you don't already dislike them. I like them all to a certain degree, except for Splinter Of The Mind's Eye, which I'm happy to ignore. My own favourites would be those featuring Kyle Katarn and I place a lot of value in the Junior and Young Jedi Knights series', for kids.
Luke has been retconned in my opinion . Not only did we get to see him as a bad ass. His promise to Din about protecting Grogu. Could be part of the reason when his temple was destroyed and students murdered by kylo . And just wanted to disappear and die on achto. He promised all the parents or guardians of each of his students the same thing he promised Din. That's enogh to break any man even Luke
2nd time in my life I shed a tear during a film/show. First being at the end of Return of the King. I may have teared up at the end twin sun set at the end of ROTS, but I dont recall.
This tapped into something deep in our childhood memories. It made me feel like a 9 year old watching Star Wars for the first time again. That kind of feeling comes rarely to adults.
This truly did get you in the right places. It made me shed a tear and gave me goosebumps all the way through. This is what we have been waiting for what it should have been. Just think what they could do with a film 😢😭✌️
it made me cry as well, it took me to my childhood when my father was still alive :( we watched starwars togther and he loved Luke.. and to see him like this agian i remeberd the dayes i had with my father :.( love u dad rest in peace
My father also died some years ago and he was a huge Star Wars fan! His favorite characters were the old wise characters like Yoda and Obi-Wan, but he also liked Vader and Luke a lot. He got me into Star Wars and I wish he could see this! Right now I'm all alone, but I really hope they have Disney Plus in heaven so our fathers can watch it together! :) God, I still tear up at the force ghost scene in Episode 6, it was by far the favorite scene of my father. When I watched Star Wars alone (I watched it almost every day as a kid :D) I just had to cry "Daaad!" and he knew what was up, or he recognized the Victory Celebration music and came over to watch the ghost scene with me haha :/
My Pop took me to see Star Wars in 77...we stood in line for hours talking about what we were about to share. When my Pops got super sick, the night before he passed, he got up really late for him, asked me to put Star Wars on. We shared that one last time together. Seeing Luke, the real Luke, again brought me my Pop back again. I haven't cried tears like this in a long long time. My Pop is smiling.
This reaction is why most fans didn't like the treatment of Luke in the sequel movies, we all wait decades to see Jedi master Luke! What we got was grumpy old man Luke and we were all heart broken! when we got the Luke we wanted we all cried!
the idea of making Luke lose faith int he force is a bold idea for a sequel Luke..the problem was the execution of it, it came off as lazy and SUPER CAMPY! A better way of making Luke lose faith in the force is maybe, han and leia suspect Ben is turning to the darkside, but Luke having turned Darth Vader to the light arrogantly trusts in the force, this time it doesnt pay off and ben is sdeuced by the darkside, making Luke lose his way and severs his connection to both the trust of his friends, family and the force making him go to exile but NOPE, instead his reason is "NEPHEW MIGHT BE EVIL...MUST..KILL..NEPHEW IN..HIS..SLEEEP!" "MUST...DRINK..ALIEN..TITTY"
The reactions to this just goes to prove the people who say the OT fans aren't happy with anything new isn't true, and not an excuse they can use anymore for their shitty movies. When its done _right_ you get a hundred reaction videos of grown adults so happy they're crying
Please, true Star Wars fans, THANK Filoni and Favreau. We've waited 40 years for this moment. We endured the destruction and shaming of Luke in TLJ, knowing, above all, that Luke is a TRUE hero, a man of virtue and kindness and faith. Luke does NOT give up or give in. In spite of all, even Yoda and Kenobi telling him it was impossible, Luke overcame the Emperor to bring Anakin back. Luke IS the Light side of the Force; in spite of his power. The Mandalorian understands this. The danger was corruption, temptation from power. Luke has overcome this. He can use Force powers most are not able to resist because he is PURE. We can quibble all we want, but this was beautiful and fitting. I'm still in shock. THANK YOU! And, to me, Din IS the embodiment of the Mandalorian ethos. He is young and naive in his journey, but he is a man of honor, a true warrior. He should not be shamed or "replaced" with Fett as many say [I love Fett returning to his roots in the extra-credits scene]. Mando is a special character and I appreciate the show and what he brings just as much as the redemption of Luke. I'm so f*cking happy.
Agree on all points. Luke represents the purest form of the light side of the force. From the time he was a kid on Tatooine and until this moment in Mandalorian, he was a kind hearted, selfless person who always put his family, friends, and mission above himself. Like you said, he never gave up or gave into despair. He believed there was good in every person, no matter their past. And that no one was lost forever. That's the Luke I know and love from the OT and in Mandalorian. I, too, hope Din stays on as the main character for season 3. After all, he made a promise that he will see Grogu again. He will not break that promise.
I agree with you on almost all points and I certainly am no fan of TLJ....... however one of the few things that does ring slightly true to me is the old Luke we saw in TLJ. My experience in life has been that no matter how awesome a person is in their prime, age ruins everyone in the end. Show me a single person in elderly years that isn't in some way or another a pale shadow of their younger selves. It's just reality, Luke in his 60s is just (at least realistically) not going to be the rock of confidence and control that he was in his prime starting around RotJ and the following years. No doubt that Luke in his prime would never go into hiding and be bitter. Middle age crisis is a real thing that most men go through. To see an elderly Luke with no flaws as if he's in his prime would have felt like a comic book character......however as I said even though Luke wasn't a problem for me in TLJ.....I hated so much other stuff in that movie anyways
Exactly! Kylo Ren was not 1/10th the bad ass that Anakin was and he saved the baddest man in the galaxy. He faced all obstacles and was triumphant. Enough with the sequels, I'm just too happy to get a proper, true picture of one of the best heroes in cinema history. Thank you Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni and all the directors and storytellers who brought back Luke in proper fashion. Awesome!
Ruin Johnson has earned that name. As you mentioned Luke never gave up on his father even as he was dying. Years later Luke senses that his nephew might turn to the dark side so he tries to murder him in his sleep. As far as I'm concerned episodes 7-9 are bad fan fiction and don't exist.
But Disney give Jon and Dave the controll and the MONEY - at the end, Disney is the Moneymaker and without money and all the stuff ....The Mandalorian dont exist.
I was not optimistic at all when this show started. I figured the mouse had killed off the thing I loved as a child so much. That my last memory of seeing Luke was the abomination in the 2nd mouse film. But Friday night as I sat with my daughter, it was 1983 again. For a few minutes, I shared a child like wonder with my kid, taking in every scene, holding back tears. For a time Friday night, there was no mouse, no new trilogy, no fighting, arguing, nothing. There was Star Wars. Nothing more. That thing that has captured our imaginations and hearts for 4 decades. That bounded total strangers, broke language and culture barriers. Don’t know where it goes from here, but we had Friday night
Everyone has been summing it up perfectly. This is literally all we ever wanted. To see this version of Luke. Finally to see it, was beyond satisfying.
LOL...me too...I started screaming as soon as I saw the X-wing...then my wife woke up and "kindly" reminded me my kid was still sleeping...she looked at me like : "What's wrong with you?...You're 43, get over it"...but nah! I'm good...

I bawled like a baby when he lifted his hood. I've been waiting 40 years for this powerful moment with Like Skywalker. Even since I was 12 years old. Thanks Filoni and Favreau for the memories.
(see's X-Wing) - "no way", (Green Lightsaber) - "it couldn't", (right hand glove) - "oh heck", they masterfully teased and built up the reveal in what felt like eternity. This last episode was like a christmas miracle. all the turmoil of 2020 and on the final stretch, this. There's hope again.

When I was a kid, my dad would rent A New Hope and Empire every weekend and we'd watch them on the old VCR (it was the early 90s) through the whole weekend. We did this enough times until the shop owner just gave my dad the original trilogy. That feeling of wonder and excitement was something that disappeared after my died passed away. The prequel trilogy didn't have that magic nor the sequel trilogy. Seeing this singular episode was something special for me. I sat at the edge of my seat hunched forward and excitedly consuming every second of this series. I felt things I hadn't felt since I was on the couch with my pops watching the original trilogy. Jon Favreau gave me something I didn't even know that I wanted so badly.
@@felldoh9271 haha thanks man. It just goes to show that some things mean a lot to some people whether they're fictional characters or whatever. I can't put into words the gratitude I have for what we got in the season finale of Mando. Bad cgi or not, it was still amazing.
For a lot of us, Star Wars, was a bonding experience with our dad. Specially being a woman, for me (as the oldest kid in the house), was very important. My dad is a very quiet and reserved man and Star Wars was our moment. Years after, I get to have the same moment, with my brother, who was much more younger than I and who can't conect like I do with my dad. So, I introduce him to Star Wars, and there was another hardcore fan. With The Mandalorian, we both get to do the same, with my nephews. Three generations crazy about it. So, I totally feel this reactor at seeing Luke (he was a lot of more calm than I, who screamed my pulmons out 🤣).
@@rominamartinez5544 right on! I'm glad you and your pops were able to have that experience. I know it can't always be easy for a dad to bond with a daughter because of the gender divide we have created as a society BUT that is another conversation entirely lol storytelling in any medium has always been a bridge for people whether it's a father and daughter or two tribes trying to barter for food and land. Storytelling connects us and to hear some executive who is completely out of touch say that it's out of place to be emotional about a story or character is obviously out of touch.
I keep telling my friends "I cried at last night's episode" None of my friends have seen it yet. Every single one of them is like "DID MANDO DIE!??!" I'm like "No, I cried of happiness"
I cried too. Im 34m and have a baby boy the same "age" / size as baby Yoda. I even call him baby Yoda, as he was born just as we began to watch the show, when season 2 came out. I really felt for Mando, as he gave his "son" away. It hit me so hard - the tears were pouring.
@@joren2226 that's why he typed "age". Because obviously Baby Yoda despite his age he's still a little one for his species. If a Butterfly could think like us, then a 14 day new-born is an ancient being doubling the life expectancy of an average butterfly. It's all about perspectives.
I’m 50 years old and this made me feel like a kid when I first saw Star Wars! So many fans of all ages wow what respect for shared love of the story may it continue❣️
The thing that kills me about all this is that This Luke should have happened in theaters so we could ALL enjoy this together .....But I will take what I can get at this point.
1000% agree. This is the Luke we all wanted when Disney bought Lucasfilm. I'm so happy, I will say nothing further, I'm going to rewatch in a few hours.
That's exactly how I felt. After the episode ended I was in awe, followed by sadness of the realization of how much more of an impact it would have been to be in a theater with fans and hear the crowd gasp as they see the xwing and then cheer when Luke reveals his face.
@@Pomoscorzo Still need training even for that. Just not as much. Instinctive use of the force, for light and dark without training, has been shown in OT and PT to be heightened awareness and reaction times increasing. Not mind tricks and sabre fighting.

I'm 49 and saw ANH, ESB and RotJ "live" as they each hit theaters. Standing in line, staring at the movie posters outside the theater with wide eyes begging the line to move and the show to start. For the first time since Jedi, I felt that again as I watched this episode. When the X-wing flew past, I went silent. When the b/w screen showed a light saber I got hopeful, when the green saber showed in colour I was a kid again, and when the cowl pulled back to show Luke I was soaked in tears. THIS is what Star Wars is, for all the Kathleen Kennedys of the world who would instead use the franchise just as a vehicle for their agenda...this touches the hearts and minds of fans who connect with the humanness of the characters and the wonder of their stories. Favreau et al deserve applause and thanks for what they did in 2 seasons, and arguably, one episode, to give rebirth to an entire intellectual property that was rendered impotent after three 'sequels'.
Same here. Hallway music was sublime, myterious, dark, and intense but when the jedi revealed his face Luke's Theme from the OT just broke me, ugly crying....
Buddy, the moment you see the door and the soft guitar strings begin playing it gave me goosebumps. Then those goosebumps became even more intense when you hear the words "a Jedi"?
Great, sincere reaction, brother! I'm 43 but felt like I was 5 years old as soon as that X-wing flew across the screen. I knew it was Luke. I had dreamed of this exact outcome as soon as Ahsoka said a Jedi may come for Grogu. But I couldn't have known it would be this good. What an absolute triumph. And like others have said, this actually felt like a real christmas gift; the best I've received since childhood. Great vid!
My thoughts exactly... Movies tried to be to cute and misdirection. They just should have closed the Skywalker saga the way fans could have enjoyed it. Rey was going to be the successor to him, but Luke's moment was stolen by it being a force projection. At least to me.
The true starwars fans felt the meaning of seing luke , we felt the true emotion . I hate how they portrayed luke in the new movies, it even felt like they try to make fun of him . But this is the true luke.
I think thats precisely what the new movies were about, puncturing what they thought to be a masculine dominated bubble in a long revered franchise, Kennedy even asserts the force is "feminine"
I cried too pal!!! I'm 45 years old and I was crying my eyes out at 7am Friday morning...my brother was like are you serious, and I was like yeah!! For the guys my age we hated the new sequels mostly for how luke was treated!! We never got to see the Jedi master that we grew up!!!! People used to say to me, why did hate the last jedi? What did want It to be like, what did you expect? Well, THIS!! what I saw from luke in 3 minutes toward the end of the mandalorian, was exactly what I wanted to see!!!

This Star Wars scene is the most talk of all the other Star Wars films. This scene made me cry at the same time felt with relief that they were able to save Star Wars. Yout said very nicely. That’s the way how I exactly felt and thought about the last moment. I took only five minutes to bring every memory back and forget what happened in the last trilogy. Lots of credits to Favreau. Only an honest fan like him knows how to tell a story and how a story should be told. I gave us something back. I am so thankful.
So Gideon would rather die than face a Jedi. That says a lot about Luke. I guess this isn't the first time imperial remnants found themselves on the wrong end of Luke's lightsaber.
I know I’m pretty late, but it’s said in the lore that all moffs fear Luke in particular because on the second Death Star they witnessed palpatine, Vader, and Luke walk into the throne room and then saw Luke walk out with an injured darth Vader, the most feared dark lord. You could see the fear in Gideon’s eyes during that scene
I was 13 years old standing in line opening day for Star Wars in 1977 watching this takes me right back to 13 and seeing Luke, Han and Leia for the first time.
Imagine if the would have let John Favreau direct the sequel trilogies, we would have gotten The Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, instead of the shell of some guy named Skywalker and he’s a Jedi
Disney made the same mistake as Lucas did in the Prequels, having one person have total creative control. They gave Rian Johnson too much power in the Last Jedi without having someone to keep him in check. In the Force Awakens, Abrams had Lawrence Kasdan to keep him in check.

Name one, only one! good EU book. Like realy good piece of literature... I don't think there is one. Yes, as young fan i've read tons of fanfiction and EU books, but they all seems quite cheesy nowadays. And not in a good way like original SW movies I love.

The Luke Skywalker I been waiitng to see since 1983. It was glorious!
Exactly!
I hope Dave filoni and Jon favreau can clean up the sequels like Dave did a bit with the prequels.

He got me into Star Wars and I wish he could see this! Right now I'm all alone, but I really hope they have Disney Plus in heaven so our fathers can watch it together! :)
God, I still tear up at the force ghost scene in Episode 6, it was by far the favorite scene of my father.
A better way of making Luke lose faith in the force is maybe, han and leia suspect Ben is turning to the darkside, but Luke having turned Darth Vader to the light arrogantly trusts in the force, this time it doesnt pay off and ben is sdeuced by the darkside, making Luke lose his way and severs his connection to both the trust of his friends, family and the force making him go to exile
but NOPE, instead his reason is "NEPHEW MIGHT BE EVIL...MUST..KILL..NEPHEW IN..HIS..SLEEEP!" "MUST...DRINK..ALIEN..TITTY"
The reactions to this just goes to prove the people who say the OT fans aren't happy with anything new isn't true, and not an excuse they can use anymore for their shitty movies. When its done _right_ you get a hundred reaction videos of grown adults so happy they're crying
that old man was Jake, not Luke, a distant cousin or something..

Wonderful comment. Thank you. Agreed.
Don't thank Disney or Lucasfilm, this is all a love letter from Jon and Dave.
But Disney give Jon and Dave the controll and the MONEY - at the end, Disney is the Moneymaker and without money and all the stuff ....The Mandalorian dont exist.

It was, and thanks for sharing your story.
@@rominamartinez5544 right on! I'm glad you and your pops were able to have that experience. @@liberatetutemeexinferis5902 John Wick of the Star Wars
I’m a 34 yo man and I cried when Mando let Luke adopt Grogu. Smh.
It was luke for me. Cheers
Imagine of Rian Johnson valued Luke Skywalker as much as this fella does.
Imagine if the would have let John Favreau direct the sequel trilogies, we would have gotten The Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, instead of the shell of some guy named Skywalker and he’s a Jedi
This is the difference between an guy who makes movies and a guy who makes star wars movies.....
He did, that's why he gave us a great Luke Skywalker film.
@@BossAttack Rian may have valued Luke in his own way but consensus is, his version of Luke is not the one the majority wanted to see.
Disney made the same mistake as Lucas did in the Prequels, having one person have total creative control. They gave Rian Johnson too much power in the Last Jedi without having someone to keep him in check. In the Force Awakens, Abrams had Lawrence Kasdan to keep him in check.
When I Saw The X-WIng I Was Like "Filoni You Son of A Bi-'
In a happy way
Filoni, this better not be balogna
I felt an awakening of star wars fans with this episode like millions of fans weeping for joy for seeing the Luke they knew and loved!
See. This man right here is a fan. He bleeds Star Wars. This series was made for him and the countless thousands of others who cheered, cried, and swelled with pride. Bravo my friend.
This is the star wars we deserved!!! Not that disney joke trilogy
Still created by Disney by the way
Mandalorian is also made by Disney. I feel like people forget about that
@@luohao2321 yeah they act dumb asf
@@travisk6221 I find it interesting that whenever people hate something from star wars, they are quick to pin the blame on Disney, but whenever they like something, Disney isn't acknowledged and they pretend as though Disney doesn't exist.
@@luohao2321 what are you talking about? Yeah it was made by Disney, but Sequels were made by some mutherfuc*ers whose only interest were money and Mandalorian was made by real Star wars fans. That's what we talking about
Yesterday: THE DAY THE EARTH 🌎 STOOD STILL.....
Well said!
That scen was the best thing to come out of 2020! Respect man!
It 100% was!
Just like you, when R2 showed up, it created a visceral reaction in me. The whole scene already moved me, Luke, Gorgu/baby Yoda and Mando saying goodbye, but there was something about R2-D2 showing up that touched my inner child.
This was closure in alot of ways for the vast majority of fans. The films robbed us of that. To Jon Faverau, I have two words. Thank you. ❤️
Mark my words: NO ONE will ever react like this if Rey ever returns.
with a better writing for Rey and without Finn ...maybe. i think - Filoni can do that ;)
@@Ohmbricks he'd certainly have his hands full.
Well, Luke is like Vader : They're legendary characters.
Let 2 or 3 decades to Rey, and it could happend ^^
They will react the same but they will be tears of sorrow, not tears of joy.
Agreed, I just think the sequel trilogy will be largely forgotten.
They knew exactly what us fans wanted and they give it us and more.
I AM still crying, Man! Best episode ever. No, Luke os boy like vader in rogue one...he is better, fighting tô save people, to rescue grogu, with honor, elegance and respect for Mark Hamill, the one and only Luke.
This is without a doubt the most sincere, heartfelt reaction I have ever seen. Absolutely beautiful how something like this can touch you.
You're - just like me - truly touched without hysterical screams. You silently enjoy what you see, and what we got to see was nothing less than WOW! Thank you for sharing your emotions!
After the recent trilogy, we NEEDED this.
Thank you John Favreau for saving Star Wars.
I was in tears too. I’ve waited my entire life for that. That is the Luke I read about as a kid. I finally got to see it.
I’m crying with you bro! The Star Wars community was blessed by being able to see this!
I cried like a baby watching the show my first time and I cry like a baby watching these reaction videos. I'm so glad I'm not the only one.
Hello there! I just want to say thank you to all of you for taking the time to watch my reaction to this wonderful moment. I've been reading all of your comments and I'm going to spend the next few days responding to you guys and gals. I'll talk to you soon, and may the force be with you!
You do not have to apologize for the tears as I had them streaming down my face as well. Not only has this year been hard on so many but it has been personally tough for me as well. Having these 8 episodes to enjoy for the time it took for the story to develop helped me escape my own hellish time. The show also takes me back to the joy and wonder of when I was a kid and loved everything related to Star Wars.
You made me cry all over again. 😭❤️
Did you see the AFTER CREDIT scene?
@@kdb10470 That's why this moment is so important because just for a few minutes myself and many others were able to forget those stressful and hard times from this year and just enjoy feeling like a kid again. It was priceless and I am so happy that so many fans are feeling that sense of joy watching Star War again!
@@crandleberrysadie I'm sorry! Hard not too when you feel like a friend that hasn't been around for 20 years finally appears out of nowhere again haha
Had the same emotional reaction to that scene and i'm 38 years old. I got this overwhelming feeling like seeing an old friend and to the time i bought the Luke actionfigure in the local toystore as a kid.
This is a catharsis moment, seeing luke back is like knowing jesus loves you and answered our prayers
"That's literally, all I wanted" man, I feel you
The best thing I could think of that came out of 2020 is the “Mandalorian”
I'm 44 and cried when I saw Luke, i was back in '83 again!! Watching RETURN OF THE JEDI...
❤️
Same. I saw it with my dad for my 7th birthday and I remember Luke taking my breath away when he first appeared in Jabba’s palace on the screen. He became my hero from then on & RoJ was always my favorite just because of him. After seeing this, I was 7 years old again bouncing up and down in my seat to see THAT Luke again. When the music began, TEARS rolled.
@@ruadhrose great memories!!!
When R2 Shows up, the tears don’t stop. What a fantastic finale.
Bruh Jon and Dave, if you ever in my area, I owe you a drink 😂
Luke - last and best disciple's Yoda. Hello from Russia!
Brother, your eyes said it all. This finale didn't just save Star Wars. It saved 2020.
I thought it was only me. This entire episode had my emotions all over the place. Seeing Luke at full power with present day cinematography... damn. This is what we wanted.
5 minutes of feeling like a kid again - exact same reaction and I wept like a kid.
