Is this a quote from Theory? If so, then daaaamn it hits hard. Especially knowing all what he went through - from parent's divorce to cancer and to bullying.
I watched, I saw, I cried and it brought me back, it was a time machine, to a time that will never be, we can now see the Luke that always was, restored that will always be our Luke. Yoda reminds us of this piece of wisdom that is so true. When we were young lads Luke was a role model, we identified with him and his desires and struggles. He taught us morality, he was selfless, he thought of others before himself, he was willing to sacrifice everything even his life to redeem someone he loved. He was a symbol of goodness, of innocence - Yoda “Through the Force, things you will see. Other places. The future, the past. Old friends long gone.” when I watched this it immediately brought my Father back to life sitting next to him in a darkened movie theater in Carpentersville Illinois in 1977 where all was right in the world, with my Dad at my side watching Star Wars, just for a brief moment it brought back that same spirit, that memory. Remember never be embarrassed to shed a tear, for we are reminded that in the shortest verse in the Bible that Jesus Wept.
I was going through divorce at the time this came out. I had also just come down with undiagnosed schizophrenia. I was alone and at my weakest point. Seeing this scene in a way helped me through all of it at my worst point. Luke Skywalker was my childhood.
Hey, Theory! Thank you so much for sharing this again. I think there were a lot of us fans who were right there with you on that emotional roller-coaster ride that was the Mando S2 finale. Just an amazing experience!👍
Still one of the most meaningful reactions I’ve ever seen. I believe he speaks from the heart. ♥️ A New Hope was the first movie I ever saw. I was with my dad. It was 1977. We saw it at the Malco Theater, and I was 6 years old. I completely understand his emotion because I felt it too. This was something my generation has waited 40+ years to feel again (janky CGI and all). Thanks to Star Wars Theory for expressing the feelings of an entire era of Star Wars fans who remember. 💫
Dude, you are me here. The tears, the goosebumps, It was a desperately needed scene. I, like you grew up watching the original movies, reading the books and spending countless hours deep in star wars lore. Thank you for putting a face and voice to speak out for the Universe we love!

I'll never forget man, I watched this live, in the live, and had the EXACT same emotions and I felt embarrassed at how hard I was crying despite the fact I was alone in my room after midnight. Seeing Theory having the same experience it felt like I was sharing a moment with a close friend as weird as that must seem. And now here we are, less than 24 hours before the premiere of season 3 and probably my 2,400 time coming back to this reaction. Love all you nerds.
This is a genuinely touching reaction to what art does to someone that truly loves said art. Star Wars is such an important piece of art for a lot of people throughout their lives, 30 somethings for the VHS OT and then the prequels, for 50+ the OT. And Star Wars Theory's reaction genuinely expresses that. If you grew up watching the younger Luke in his prime from the OT, he was a deeply impactful hero that you could look up to and reach up to and aspire to be like. He was introduced to us as a goofy naïve kid that had no discernable heroic qualities, aside from perhaps a desire for adventure and we watched him "grow" up into the Luke that we saw here in Mando season 2. The Ideal Hero. THIS is the Luke that I know and envisioned after Episode 6. A deeply calm and connected man that exudes a zen-like demeanor. No ego, no cockiness, just confidence and understanding who uses the force not to show off, not to dominate, but to guard and protect others and do good in the galaxy. The Ideal Jedi.
Once in a lifetime experience, and I'm glad we all got to share it together. It meant just as much to all of us, I had the identical reaction. Beautiful man, love you Theory
Honestly beautiful, few people will understand this. Hes cometely right. Luke Skywalker is a childhood hero, the OG for many of us. Makes us feel were young again. This touched me, have a blessed day
You are us. I'm 45, and this episode brought me right back to my childhood. Nostalgia galore. Didn't know at the time but this is peak Disney Star Wars.
I was a little brat back in 1977 when the first Star wars film came out. I still remember the theater all these decades later. I also remember how amazed and excited I felt watching this adventure. Luke, Leia Han and the others were heroes. And Luke represented what was good. So I can totally understand how you feel. To see Luke come out again brought tears to my eyes as well. Thanks for sharing.
This is why we love you, Theory. You aren't afraid to be yourself and to show your emotions like a true Star Wars fan. Keep doing you, man! You've got the support of true fans!
When Tobey Maguire walked out of the Portal in Spider Man No Way Home, i cried like a baby and felt like a kid again So I feel the same way this dude felt
Dude I understand how you feel as someone who was there in 1977 and saw Star Wars and if just for moment to see the Luke Skywalker we all know and love was great and made me feel like a kid again in 1977.
I remember where I was when I watched this episode, and I proudly screamed like a little kid when I saw that X-Wing fly by the window. When Cara remarked "one x-wing, we're saved" I said to absolutely no one but myself, "that's all you need." This was the first time that Star Wars made me feel like a kid again, and I love the direction the franchise is going in now. Here's to more moments like this.
SWT's reaction to Luke's appearance was one of the most sincere, beautiful fan-moments ever. Everyone who looked at it like he was being corny is ridiculous.
I was crying too because it felt like seeing Luke again for the first time in years. The sequels spat on his character in my opinion, tried to make him out to be scared, broken, and bitter old man. This was the Luke I grew up with. A hero, someone who helped people even when it was dangerous. We watched this guy hone his skills and fall down only to keep getting back up.
This is just wholesome. Screw the critics. Life is about these moments my friend. And I get it! He was always my favorite character. Hell, I named my son after him and when Mark Hamill commented on his photo one day on social, it made my day. Peace & love dude. Star Wars is more than a film!
You ain't the only one who cried, Buddy. I lost my shit that night. This was a pure moment in time that I believe was the peak of modern Star Wars. 💀👊🍻🚬
I watched this video to try to recapture the emotions that I felt when it first came out. Thanks for helping out with that. This meant so much to me as a fan.
Luke is the man many of us aspire to be, fearless and kind. Seeing him reduced to being a scared hermit in the sequels was a blow, but this moment is what we all needed to see, our hero in all his glory!
Oh dude I know how you feel man , it can be done , we all love Star Wars and what it represents , what Luke’s journey though the dark into the light represents
I cried next to my 19 yr old son for 10 mins. It was nostalgic when my parents took me to go watch Return of the Jedi at the movies when it came out in the 80’s. ❤❤❤
I felt the same exact way when I first saw this Episode. Luke and Yoda are my favorite Star Wars characters. Seeing Luke as such a bad ass was an amazing experience, especially after his character assassination in the Sequel Trilogy. The tears of joy still flow every time I see this scene.
I'll say that the final moment in the first episode of the Mandalorian hit me like a ton of bricks watching it again recently after having our first child. That moment where Din hasn't possibly yet had time to even understand what compelled him to put a shot in IG-11's head, but he did it anyway, saving Grogu's life. Goddamn, that was such a powerful closing moment for their first episode.
I'm an old-school fan. I know more about Star Wars than many content creators. I don't always agree with Theory's interpretation of certain things. But he's a fan. And the hate he gets sometimes baffles me.
What she said to Boba is probably one of the biggest disses he has ever received. He’s “not Just another clone” ❤️ My mouth was wide open , thought he was gonna insta-blast her 🤣 ⚰️
Just finished rewatching season 2 of Mando and found this video. I wish Disney Star Wars can go back to this level of quality unlike what we are seeing now with Tales of the Empire and The Acolyte. I think this was the peak, just glad to have been along for the ride for this long.
I felt it right along with you brother! One of my favorite TH-cam videos ever! I’m closer to 50 than you are, so this was especially super emotional to me!
I love this reaction, I love that it meant so much to you, and I love that you got to be that kid again, if only for a few minutes. Anyone who said anything negative about your reaction says everything about them and nothing about you. Props, bro.
Many people, regardless of what a person's circumstances are, don't understand what it means for a little boy or a little girl to have a hero. They don't have to be real, like a parent, friend, relative, etc. They can be someone who we need, who we use, as a tool and a source of courage to overcome our own challenges. Someone who we see ourselves in. Someone who saves us from that fear, that powerlessness, that inferiority we feel. Someone who instills hope. Luke was that for me, when I had all those things weighing against me. @starwarstheory, I feel and I recognize every tear on your face.
I cried too man...I cried too And I don't cry much. But the joy and the like, fulfilling feeling I got... it was like redemption.... true, raw, redemption

For a brief moment Star Wars felt magical again.
aaand its gone.

One of the purest reactions.... I watch this often to cheer me up and feel young again
I was 11 when Return of the Jedi was released....Thank you Jon Favreau for letting my see my childhood hero in full force.
I’m a literal grown a man and I cried when I saw Luke, and then again when I saw your reaction. Is horrible that people have bullied you for this.
Still one of the most meaningful reactions I’ve ever seen. I believe he speaks from the heart. ♥️
A New Hope was the first movie I ever saw. I was with my dad. It was 1977. We saw it at the Malco Theater, and I was 6 years old.
I completely understand his emotion because I felt it too.
This was something my generation has waited 40+ years to feel again (janky CGI and all).
Thanks to Star Wars Theory for expressing the feelings of an
entire era of Star Wars fans who remember. 💫
Dude, you are me here. The tears, the goosebumps, It was a desperately needed scene. I, like you grew up watching the original movies, reading the books and spending countless hours deep in star wars lore. Thank you for putting a face and voice to speak out for the Universe we love!
Luke: " I will give my life to protect the child."
Moments later:
Grogu gets shot by the Jedi training remote lol 😅
More like sending Grogu alone to Mos Eisley, in a X-wing, handing him over to a total stranger.
Obi Wan - "Mos Eisley, You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy".
#Teamluke #Lukepadawans
Maaaan, it was Covid, I was super distraught in my own personal world, I watched this by myself, this thing that United billions and billions of people fir this space of a couple hours before and after, and my God, I screamed, and cried, and ran around the house for 30 minutes solid!!! Thank you for sharing, I wish I would have known and watched with y’all!!! I really want to join a watch party now, but I live in the UK now and that seems difficult ha. We shall see!! The Force is with you, always!!!!
That scene meant so much for so many people for different reasons.
This.....this reaction here is not only why I love theory. But what all franchises should push for. We should of gotten more of this from the movies....this is what it means to be a fan
Losers stick together I guess...
@@illseeyaonthedarksideofthemoonI see you have replied with hate on a lot of comments here, typical for a jobless nobody. And I guess you don't have anyone to stick to, so think again who the loser is
Even years after this still moves me and shows how something like Star Wars effects people when done write
This series, particularly this episode, brought starwars and it's fans back from a really dark place. Well done to all involved 👏
I was crying with you, Theory. Even a year later. Difference between a Favreau treatment and the tripe that you have to deal with now.
Once in a lifetime experience, and I'm glad we all got to share it together. It meant just as much to all of us, I had the identical reaction. Beautiful man, love you Theory
we need this back man somehow we need these kinds of feelings and emotions back or we'll forget
Years later i still get emotional, thanks for sharing
When Tobey Maguire walked out of the Portal in Spider Man No Way Home, i cried like a baby and felt like a kid again
So I feel the same way this dude felt
Are you a woman?
Don't worry Theory - as soon as I saw that Xwing i was crying too. Probably the greatest season finale of any show, I've ever watched.
This is my generation who understood tha magic that WAS Star Wars
You ain't the only one who cried, Buddy. I lost my shit that night. This was a pure moment in time that I believe was the peak of modern Star Wars.
💀👊🍻🚬
seeing how much of an emotionless jaded person i became over the years its cool to watch someone turn back into a kid again over a movie.
I admit, I shed a tear and had goosebumps throughout the entire scene! Luke means a lot to a huge section of the fanbase.
I watched this video to try to recapture the emotions that I felt when it first came out. Thanks for helping out with that. This meant so much to me as a fan.
This is one of those things that I’ll always remember exactly where I was when I watched it. That scene meant so much and it was absolutely amazing!
"For some people are more than stories" that is true, agree 100%
That's truth.
The tears of joy still flow every time I see this scene.
to anyone who heard the drama recently, i think this shows more than most, how much theory cares about this franchise.
This is Star Wars and this is something that Leslye Headland and that coven of witches from lucasfilms will never be able to understand.
This is how it's done.
Now lets all scrub The Acolyte from the pages of history.
What she said to Boba is probably one of the biggest disses he has ever received. He’s “not
Just another clone” ❤️
My mouth was wide open , thought he was gonna insta-blast her 🤣 ⚰️
Just finished rewatching season 2 of Mando and found this video. I wish Disney Star Wars can go back to this level of quality unlike what we are seeing now with Tales of the Empire and The Acolyte. I think this was the peak, just glad to have been along for the ride for this long.
As soon as I saw that black robe and the green lightsaber I was like “YEEESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!”
And now we got:
"The power of one, The power of two, The power is Manyyyyy "
😁
Your childhood hero finally came to rescue you from pathetic story lines, simply unforgettable. Thank you for posting and may the force kicks ass. 👍🏼
I'm 41 now, and I watched that episode of Mando the day it came out, and thank god I watched it alone cause I cried like a baby too.
This is exactly how I felt when I saw Hayden back as anakin in ahsoka. I literally teared up and was so happy to see him back!
Reactions like yours are why these movies are made! I'm right there with you, bro! Star Wars is one of the greatest creations of mankind!
It made me emotional watching his reaction to this. I’m glad he got this and has had success from what he loves.
That was an amazing moment and I felt like a kid again. It was a great scene.
I felt it right along with you brother! One of my favorite TH-cam videos ever! I’m closer to 50 than you are, so this was especially super emotional to me!
Its crazy how we go from this to season 3
It was overwhelming to me to see the same emotional reaction. My childhood wonder and amazement brought vividly back to life.
I can totally get why he would get emotional. This franchise has a lot of meaning for a lot of people.
It means so much to him because Luke was his hero when he was a kid going through cancer.
@@Stak0 I know which makes his reaction so much more beautiful
I love this reaction, I love that it meant so much to you, and I love that you got to be that kid again, if only for a few minutes. Anyone who said anything negative about your reaction says everything about them and nothing about you. Props, bro.
I respect you man. When I first saw this I got chills running up and down my back. You really didn’t deserve what happened.
Facts but he knows real ones on his side
Many people, regardless of what a person's circumstances are, don't understand what it means for a little boy or a little girl to have a hero. They don't have to be real, like a parent, friend, relative, etc. They can be someone who we need, who we use, as a tool and a source of courage to overcome our own challenges. Someone who we see ourselves in. Someone who saves us from that fear, that powerlessness, that inferiority we feel. Someone who instills hope. Luke was that for me, when I had all those things weighing against me. @starwarstheory, I feel and I recognize every tear on your face.
Calm down
LMFAO his reaction when the X-Wing showed up. I swear everyone had some crazy reaction on that part.
I cried too man...I cried too
And I don't cry much. But the joy and the like, fulfilling feeling I got... it was like redemption.... true, raw, redemption
It still gets me every time.. StarWars is my happy place
Had to rewatch this to see my guy smile again after watching his reaction to episode 3.
what Jon Favreau did with these characters on tv is a far superior story and shits all over what ever the fuck the people making the sequel trilogy thought they were doing.
The power of one , the power of two , the power of MANYYYYY. That made me cry also .
