I really like how all of that comes together - can't wait to see the frame and fabricated parts when you got it back from powder coating. The cowl will finish the rear off very nicely if the cardboard template is any indicator. Big shout out to you for your cardboard aided design (beats 3D printing any given day). Must be spring over there on your side of the pond, I can hear the birds sing for you at about the 3:30 mark. Keep up the good work.
What would have we all done without these awesome vintage motorcycles that came before us. Obviously I don’t think we have ever given enough credit to the founders ,, all we hear is how ugly the old bikes were , how heavy etc etc etc but we wouldn’t have shit without giving very well praise to the engineers and vision that came before us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great progress. 👍🏼 Yesterday I installed a Delkevic 4-1 exhaust and it looks and sounds awesome!! You’ll love it. I’m running stock jets and the bike is running perfect. A minor vacuum sync needed, but I think that was needed no matter what. Cheers.
For an electrics tray I’m actually thinking of using expanded steel for things like the regulator/rectifier that would need mounted and room to breath. I still plan on using plate steel for the battery mounted in the rear like you’ve done with the GS as I don’t want any punctures from road debris in the higher risk areas of the bike.
Thanks for finding it. Depends what parts you're after. Some OEM parts might be found at Kawasaki dealers but for customising a lot of parts are universal.
Doing your metal folds is easier if you do it between two pieces of metal angle on your bench vice. You will be able to get a much cleaner fold on your fabricated pieces and be a lot quicker and easier too.
Hey there. Awesome job on the build. Did really good with the metal work. I wanna make my own for my '81 CB650c. What size sheet metal did you use? 1, 2, or 3mm? Thanks in advance. David
Hi, I'm looking to buy my first bike and eventually turn it into a cafe racer. Would you say a CB 750 (or even 900) is a good bike for a beginner? If not, what would you recommend?
A CB750 is a heavy bike, and a big bike, but the frame is fairly straight forward but then depends on the model, e.g. pre 79 single cam etc. The engine however has a bit more going on than the GS550 like double the number of valves and stuff.
You should invest in a cheap tig welder. The welded would look 100% better. Love the build but those seat post weld just lessen the nice clean look. I'm enjoying the build, Thanks.
Mig welders work perfectly fine for building. It’s all about the settings. However it looks like he’s running flux core and it leaves a mess behind that has to be cleaned up.
You make it look so easy. Man I can't wait to start on mine in a few months. GS650GL scrambler build. Since mine is shaft driven. Is it possible to gear down the rear drive? I'd like to gear it down to make it more controllable off road.
It takes a lot of thinking that's for sure. I'm not too familiar with drive shaft mods on offorad (being from an MX background changing the number of teeth on the sprockets is usually a simple fix for set up on chain drive). Only other thought I would have is to venture into the gears themselves but that's a job and a half in itself.
Really enjoying this CB rebuild.... My favority bike was my 1981 cb750f.... so this raises alot of fond memories
Thanks, more this week.

Yeah it is, the warm weather is here. Powder coating off tomorrow, won't be long until it's back together.
Fab work looking awesome... definitely gives me more confidence on working on mine watching it happen step by step. 👍
Excellent, if these videos help inspire or give confidence to a handful of people then my work is done ;)
Getting a Cb750 myself and can't wait to see how this one turns out! Great channel and amazing work !
Thanks, good luck with yours.

Excellent, great stuff, I'm looking forward to installing it.
Excited to see the rear cowl cover build! Great work sir
Thanks
Love the Bad Obsession Motorsport reference! Still waiting for the next episode though. Keep the awesome work going!
Will be on hold for another 2 weeks with the CB750.
Fantastic video. Bike is really coming along nicely
Thanks, it's speeding along.
Very nice job! Your fabricating has progressed in the past couple years. Keep it up. 👍🏽
It's a pity I don't get to show much of it on TH-cam, but there'll be some more on this build.

Sounds a plan.
Very excited about the CX! Cb750 is lookjng awesome man! Almost got my cm450 going and looking great. Cant wait. Keep up the videos they are awesome!
Thanks, CX500 video coming this Friday.
I like this design!
Thanks.
Love this bro, just purchased some seat foam from your website would you happen to have a link to those steel sheets you're using?
They’re from b&q
So glad I found this channel I just bought a 78 kawasaki kz650 any tips on where I might find parts here in the US
Thanks for finding it. Depends what parts you're after. Some OEM parts might be found at Kawasaki dealers but for customising a lot of parts are universal.
When are you going to finish the CX? Can’t wait to see the end result.
More CX video coming up along with the GS
@@forthebold what's the thickness of the seat pan metal, and the thickness of the brackets you added to the frame?

Good call, I usually use the metal jaws of the vice but too big for this.

David
Hey. I used 1mm steel.
@@forthebold okay awesome. Thanks man. 👍
another great video. What grade/thickness steel did you use for the seat pan?
Thanks, I used 1mm thickness.
At the end of the video he talks about the rear set brackets.... anyone know what they are and where to order them
They’re of a 79 super sport F model 750. A scrap yard might have some.
Did you get a pilots liscense with that jacket lol...great videos I dig the accent you seem like a decent BLOKE
Enjoying the vids, great job! The music though, where's it from?
Thanks, music is free from TH-cam, not much choice
This video came out just after I finished building mine.
It's a fun part of the build isn't it.
Where did you find that backlight?

Whaat is the tray for under the seat?
Electrics tray

For The Bold - dreegez
Yeah it is. I'd just change 1st and 2nd if I was to do that.
That looks dope.
Thanks
Where is the next part of your cb750 video? I can't find it.
Not up yet unfortunately, it will be up a week today I think, unveiling the new powder coat and it looks amazing.
Sounds nice, can't wait for it. Keep the good work!
what kind of metal are you using for the seat brackets? im putting in a custom seat on mine soon
I’m using 3 or 4mm steel. I can’t remember which I ended up going with
wouldn't it be easier to use carriage bolts like on a truck bed rather than shave the bolts down? just an idea..
Nice idea, didnt have any to hand but worth stocking up
Aye I like your previous intro music better
Used to hum along everytime I heard it 🤣
Sorry, but there's always re-runs of the old episodes ;)
Great videos; your channel inspired me to do my own cb750 build.
What welder do you use?
Thanks, I use a Sealey mightymig
The electric box? Purpose
To hold all electrical items such as relays, fuse box etc.
I did a build journal of making my seat pan. Our methods are similar.

hmm .. i will turn my klx to cafe racer.
All the best.
hes not a welder
Nope, I'm a graphic designer.
First.
Congrats.
