Its the one thing letting the bike down in my opinion. Otherwise a fantastic project that has been a joy to watch!

      I think it suits it that it's a little on the not perfect side, as though it's seen a few arses and a few campaigns, at the beginning of the vid he describes wanting the bike to show a mix of battle scars and pride from 79 to the present day, it's the bike itself that's the warrior, it's been on the road for 40 years and still gets looks, it's probably older than most guys watching the vid. (But not me) Anyway, it works for me.
      Just sayin, ;-)

    Well done! One thing I don't understand however and it is not limited to just this build, is why add scrambler items such as knobbly tyres and then create a seat no thicker than a baby's nappy and leave out other gravel road (Scrambler) items such as front fork gators and mud guards?
    Like I said this is becoming quite a regular thing with cafe racer builds and I definitely don't want to put negative spin on what is truly a beautiful bike! Thanks for the video it's absolutely inspiring !

    I always remove and unused mounting lugs or bosses when doing custom builds. I would have removed the original handlebar risers for a finished look. If I wanted to also have the use of the original tubular type bars simply have a second top triple clamp to change out if desired.

    I have the same leather jacket you cut up for that seat. Bought it 2009. Fuckin fantastic jacket. The red has faded and jaded. Best item of clothing I’ve ever bought. Better than my w650 which is also very cool. How could you! But great video and bike. One tip, add the sounds of the ratchets and tools...sounds awesome sped up with the music.

    I can not EVEN BELIEVE no one has asked this already, who is the artist for the music? Specifically this video, they have a very upbeat and technical sound, which just brings my bell reminiscent of the good old days, watching the CKY movies, having tickets to go see CKY play in concert, didn't get to go see said concert because jess margera, (the band CkYs drummer, wound up with a broken tailbone screwing around with bam his brother.) No but really who is this artist it really does sound a lot like CKY it has the same tricky technical lines in it and I definitely love the heavy octave pedal on there. So dope ass track. That cafe racer is clean. If I was going to get one of those bom(b) proof 80s bikes again, I'd DEFINITELY do it again. I really enjoyed the mag wheels. I have them on a Honda cm450 C, which stood for custom meaning I had front and rear disc brakes and mag wheels. When I bought it I also got the regular CM 450, which had spoke wheels and drum brakes, but it did have some pretty killer low-rise bars so I began robbing parts from these two identical bikes dumped the caterpillar seat, hammer and Dollied My own seat, slung it low, by adding shock preload, because this was from a time when mom's and dad liked Ted Nugent, and you probably liked, um.. house of pain, and nine inch nails, men and women were the only bathroom choices,cuz that's all people identify as because no one has brainwashed them yet, and ol George Dub-yah Bush was banking on the war, like a goddamn Chris angel trick, all in our faces. And we took it.
    I love the bike, wish I didn't miss the giveaway signups back then. That's one I'd like to buy for sure, or even better, build.
    You do have to know that I see all that empty space underneath the seat where a turbocharger would fit beautifully.... Juuuuust a thought.... (Sorry, is my crazy showing?) Great content, killer build, and you gotta fill me in on what the music you used for this was, it's badass.... Thanks!

      What’s happening with the movement is that the original donors such as the 1970s CBs are become very rare and expensive and it seems that people are getting bored of the same looking bikes so people are looking at cheaper alternatives which I think is a good thing as it’ll create more interesting bikes and the movement is evolving and pushing peoples abilities.

    • @forthebold
      @forthebold  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn’t sell it. I built it for a friend. A lot of people are under the impression that they sell for a lot but they’re still a 40 year old bike so will never exceed the cost of a new bike unless there is truest something special about them.
