Pizza with My Son Seth | First Bread After 8 Days of Passover

  • My son Seth doesn't eat any bread, pizza, pasta, rice, or beans during Passover. He's been doing it for years. We usually have a little pizza party after Passover to ravishingly celebrate the return of the bread, but this year, for my youtube channel, we took it to Williamsburg. We are not used to being filmed so it was a bit weird, but a very fun experience in all. I thought we might find long lines for pizza, but except for an hour's wait, it was a rather mellow night in the neighborhood. Many thanks to Seth for being so game with the whole thing.

I was wondering if you could maybe talk about the time of Omer after Pesach. I heard that life slows down during this period (for example, no music with instruments)

Can you do a segment on Health & Wellness? Are the Haredi more or less likely to use conventional medicine are they open to acupuncture? What about medication like addreall, CBD or Marijuana? Or even like secular counseling services for troubled marriages or teens outside of meeting with a Rabbi

I watched the 10 videos with your interview with Pearl. She is a woman much to be admired, her faith, her family values and her support of her son who is not quite following her expectations. She is a solid mother and an example for all her children to ACCEPT change and not exclude or shun other family members. Thank you for sharing a culture and or faith I would not otherwise have been so intimately exposed.

Just to clarify in case someone not Jewish may have felt slighted, the word "Goy" isn't intrinsically derogatory. The word "Goy" literally means "Nation" and even the Jews are referred to as a Goy (Nation) in the Bible. Yes, some times people use it in a derogatory fashion (similar to when people use the word Jew derogatory). However, the term is mainly used to mean a non-Jew (no negativity implied). It's no different from referring to a Black person as Black or referring to those of the Jewish faith as a Jew.

I feel like a I was very lucky to live my early years there. Everyone got along well, and learned so much about each other, especially regarding food and traditions. I wouldn’t trade those years for any financial success. My sister and I laugh now that we didn’t know we were poor ☺️

Im a serial-viewer of your videos and find your channel to be very insightful and thought-provoking. I was struck by the image of your son wearing a yarmulke, given your departure from Satmar and your journey to explore the world outside of the insular community in which you were raised.
I am genuinely curious to hear what role Yiddishkeit plays in your post-Satmar existence.
Perhaps this topic would be of interest to your viewers, given your unique position as someone who still deeply understands and respects Satmar, but who has also begun to explore the wider world. I am sure that your insights and experiences would be of great value to many of your followers, who may be struggling with similar questions of identity, faith, and community.
Thank you for sharing your story and for being an important voice in the conversation about the complexities of leaving an insular community while still maintaining a connection to one's roots. I look forward to hearing more from you in the future.
    Best regards,
    Yaqub

I grew up in the 1950s All the kids on the block would join in very elaborate and imaginative games such as being king and queen Then at 6 we would all go in for dinner when my mom’s loud voice would call us in. 😂
