i think the brown circle perfectly represents the sleekness of the game through it's minimal lines, but also shows how simple and smooth the game is through the non-complicated nature of the logo.

to give my 2 cents, while the minecraft logo is definitely an improvement and very retro, i still think it's quite noisy and not UI optimized. 2 dimensions is way too much for the average user to handle, and they might experience total organ failure while looking at the very complicated curves of the circle. i believe a more user-friendly approach would be to make the logo 0-dimensional, that way whenever the user sees that one brown pixel, they will know it's minecraft. this will also do wonders for the brand image, and make it very recognizable.

At my school they had a Mexican history thing, and they put up a poster with every Spanish speaking country, and they simplified Mexico, and it was the Italian flag lol
The minecraft logo is _way_ too complicated, because it's a raster image, there's hundreds of lines because of all of the sharp edges caused by the pixels. It would be several magnitudes simpler if it was a vector image.
Honestly, the initial design for the simplified Minecraft logo genuinely looked really cool, but the end result is MUUUUUCH better :P Great and funny video man! I loved it!

The tricolor circle version of the Minecraft logo wasn't even that bad, could be a legitimate 3rd party launcher icon.
