My favorite is the Gatorade one. I do always find it odd why they used grey on their packaging. Grey definitely does not show energy but rather lack there of.
That shiny grey was on a lot of athletic sportwear in the 2000s it was the most popular color for football (soccer) cleats in my country, but black has definitely taken over now
I thought he was gonna over simply everything way to much as a joke, but the designs seriously look good, the cam bells, and the orbit look especially official!
Now this man does logo simplifying right in my eyes. Actually taking away all the unnecessary mess and fluff from the original and making it neater without removing too much of the personality. The Gatorade stands out as my favorite.
@@santicheeks1106 i did think so too, but its better than grey and the logo cut out in the middle is fire, I just dont know what colour it could be aside from white that would look better and not like heavy on a flavor color
I think you're honestly just really good at adding *character* to designs. Whether that means simplification or overcomplication, you really make it pop.
I don't think either of the "oversimplification" or "overcomplication" videos were actually oversimplified/overcomplicated. It's all good designs with important details and a warm approach. If anything, it's minimalistic. If it was oversimplified, the logos wouldn't have any gradation, any shadow, way less colours, way less elements, the text would be normalised and flat without any bending with all letters equal to one another... Yeah, this isn't even close to oversimplified logos. But I understand he used that title to attract more people.
I think the dawn one is very pretty, but the duck looks more like a rubber duck and it doesn’t evoke that eco-friendly feeling. Other than that, great work! I truly love your design work and your unique style 💕💕
This was my problem with it too. It looks like a mascot and detracts from the fact that the ducks have a real world connection. It becomes more of random branding noise that doesn't mean much.
I have to say I really like the „trashy“ cheetos design and think it‘s part of the brand appeal. Like, you don’t buy cheetos because you want something fancy, you want quick and dirty satisfaction
The Dawn redesign was soo good! But It's a little too cute, you know? Feels more like a babies shampoo, I think. The Gatorade one was my favorite easily, I really like the lightning being cut out, it's a really cool touch!
I kind of felt the same way. But the ducks on the original are pretty cute too, so I think with a little adjusting, it could probably work. Thanks for watching!
Im not really feeling it, I love brandon but im not a fan of that geometric round with shadow art style all the time, especially when the text looks professional.
This is minimalism done right, i do still prefer some of the designs over yours, but yours are still probably the best simplified brands ive seen. my only real nit pick is that you didnt add some white on the bottom of the campbells soup can, i mean, having 2 colors on the top and on the bottom on a can is pretty much campbells brand.
With your "minimalistic" design you put an emphasis on modernity which the majority of graphic designs in charge of corporation logos miss the mark on. This was where the "simplistic = bad" hate originated from, and it's appreciated to see someone do it right. Instead of just slapping a few elements on the packaging, you apply logic and a theme which ultimately utilizes the purpose of simplism, which is to center the attention to the actual product. Great video! keep it up.
Honestly what was so iconic about the original campbells cans was specifically the red top white bottom look. The new one is ok I guess but doesn’t say campbells
i like that you use this trend of minimalism that has made so many brands just look boring and showed techniques for actually keeping the logo interesting
I liked all of them! The only one I was a little hesitant about was the Campbell's, I think taking away the half red/half white background made the can a little too unrecognizable. The type where if you were looking for it in the store, you would have to double take at it because it's not immediately standing out.
Yeah. Like with the Cheetos one, he put a red colored object on a red colored background. Having that half red/half white allowed for the tomato to be fully visible, and many other foods would stand out in the white. But any red foods would blend into the background far too much. And the can cannot be white unless the logo/Campbells text changed color or gained some special border or surrounding shape of color. Overall, Campbells is just too iconic and too good to even change.
I dunno about you guys, but to me this guy's designs just feel so much more interesting then other simplified logo's like pringles. Stuff like the hot cheetos and the dawn dish soap stick out to me because they have a sense of style, and you can see that despite the simplicity, other details were taken into account like the shape of the bottle or stuff like that. I dunno. His designs don't feel lazy to me like other simplified logos do.
My favourite was the Orbit redesign! It’s so much more clean and Modern and easy on the eyes! Although in my opinion the original design for Orbit would probably capture my attention more
look at the candy shelves of a market, it's full of flashy colors and "over the top" designs, it's meant to catch your attention. the orbit redesign looks too bland, looks more like something you'd see over the counter of a drugstore

The Gatorade redesign was definitely my favorite one of this collection. 5:15 a funny story about the gatorade logo, i remember when i was younger my parensts didnt know what the name of gatorade was, so they just called it "G". I didnt know any better either, and once i lost my water bottle im 2nd grade, so i filled a gatorade bottle with water and brought it to school. I left the bottle on my desk before recess and when i came back, it was gone. I tried asking my teacher if she saw it, but she didnt understand what a "G bottle" was. Finally she figured it out after i described the logo, and she said she threw it out 😂.
Cool redesigns, I like that you explain your thought processes behind them. However I think a lot of these really miss the mark, and tend to err on the side of minimalism but forsaking any connection to the old design (the Campbell not having half n' half red and white is scandalous!). I think as standalone designs they're very engaging and memorable though
Yeah, the Campbell one gets rid of the brand identity, which is a big no, that would make it another can in super markets instead of making it easy to spot as a Campbell's can.
I don't know how to explain it but with most of his designs i simply feel like they wouldn't work all too well with the brand, even though they are good. BUT THE GATORADE ONE IS ACTUALLY FIRE AND WOULD WORK SO WELL Edit: watching the rest of the video i realize the orbit and Campbell ones would also work very well
7:37 Would’ve really set it off if you put a white dot on one of the green circle layers surrounding the broken O. That way it would look like something is orbiting!
Man this is really fun to watch as a studying graphic designer! Although I do feel weird about the red cheeto and red tomato on red backgrounds! But still such awesome work!
These are all so cool~! My favorites are the Gatorade and Orbit redesigns. But that paper fire on the Cheetos tho-it heals me! 😌✨ As always, thanks for sharing your skills and creative process with us!

Hopefully you can make a bottled coffee design for inspiration! (or if u want to see my design hehe)
This is the first time I’ve seen your channel, I’ve got to say it’s incredible. I’ve always fancied editing like this but I find it too hard to learn lol 😂 Nice work Brandon 👏🏼
I love these! I think the Gatorade redesign could have a black cork to unify the design. The flavor text below could be transparent instead of the bolt, the reason for it being that logo colors are extremely important for consistency between products. I see a lot of empty space visually on the Campbell's one, personally I'd bend the logo upward which would also more nicely embrace the shape of the tomato below.
I love the Gatorade and Orbit redesigns the most, they are just so good! I really like that idea you thought of where the lightning bolt in the G becomes a cut-out so that it matches with the drink color! I think that Gatorade and Orbit should really use your packaging designs, they're just too good!
My only problem with these is the Cheetos one, you made a beautiful papery fire effect, but it looks strange compared to the detailed cheeto, although difficult it would be good for the cheeto to have that papery effect. I absolutely love the Gatorade though
Haha now watch all these brands suddenly come out with a 'new, modern' design that looks suspiciously similar to yours... wow, you hit it out of the park! The Orbit was my favorite, followed closely by the Gatorade. I also do graphic design professionally, so I really appreciate you being able to hone the designs down to what makes them recognizable. I'd personally have lowered the entire design of the Cheetos down on the package, it felt a bit top-heavy with the bright logo, but other than that, these were all really lovely
Oh my gosh! These are amazing! Companies should hire you for their logo design as you can make them not to complicated and not too simple! I wish these were real! Great job!
Holy crap the gatorate and orbit ones turned out so nice!! That’s like- minimizing to suit a purpose and making the packaging appeal more to the brand itself- I think the Gatorade one is my favorite because it looks so much sportier and more legible, makes the bright colors pop so much more, and I love the idea of the cutout being a functional design element for the G’s bolt! Well done!! I wasn’t sure about going simpler on a campbells soup can, but you actually made that work beautifully too, wow! And then your “complicating logos” companion video adds so much spice to overly bland and wrongfully simplified ones (not Monster, its design is slick, and complicating that one was just cool fun), and makes some really cool things with them! (I want my butter to look like a gravity falls scene dangit! I want my chips to be flashy!!) I like the vibe of the new cheetoh’s bag, but if you were going for a redesign and not necessarily a minimization, then making it a full campfire scene would be super cute: Crossed cheetoh’s like logs, and Chester wearing his sunglasses at night sitting by the fire breathing more fire on it because he can lol. With a little garish colored camper in the background lol.
They actually turned out really well and would probably make me want to go out and buy them if they did exist. Especially the Gatorade one, the grey felt off and the black made a big difference. And the little duck on The Dawn Bottle was adorable!

@@h2.t2 I WAS GOING TO SAY THAT-
5:15 a funny story about the gatorade logo, i remember when i was younger my parensts didnt know what the name of gatorade was, so they just called it "G". Finally she figured it out after i described the logo, and she said she threw it out 😂.
mom can i have some G?
4:30 IS SO CUTE
7:35 so clean
9:12 more realistic TBH
Not gonna lie the thing I love the most about those simplifications is how you add purpose to them, unlike our usual corporate oversimplifications
These logos are too good. Feels very retro but still holds their own identity.
As a practicing graphic designer seeking inspiration, this is exactly the content I’ve been looking for. You just earned a sub my friend!
The orbit was FANTASTIC❤

Cool redesigns, I like that you explain your thought processes behind them. However I think a lot of these really miss the mark, and tend to err on the side of minimalism but forsaking any connection to the old design (the Campbell not having half n' half red and white is scandalous!). I think as standalone designs they're very engaging and memorable though
Great take (Especially the part about Campbell)
Yeah, the Campbell one gets rid of the brand identity, which is a big no, that would make it another can in super markets instead of making it easy to spot as a Campbell's can.
Well, what does the title say? OVERSIMPLIFICATION
4:45 As Windows expert i can confirm that it's like a windows 95 feel whilst looking at the gatorate cover ngl.
I don't know how to explain it but with most of his designs i simply feel like they wouldn't work all too well with the brand, even though they are good. BUT THE GATORADE ONE IS ACTUALLY FIRE AND WOULD WORK SO WELL
Edit: watching the rest of the video i realize the orbit and Campbell ones would also work very well
nah imp campbell one made it look cheaper and not so original. I dont really like him being minimalist for the sake of being minimalist
LOVE all these redesigns. I just feel like campbell’s soup’s golden seal is the ONE part you could’ve kept.
This is amazing!

I loved what you did with Dawn! 3:27
Well done man.
Thanks brother, glad you enjoyed it!
over complicate all of these ones it would be very cool to see the difference
7:37 Would’ve really set it off if you put a white dot on one of the green circle layers surrounding the broken O. That way it would look like something is orbiting!
i was thinking a cartoony piece of gum
I just love watching these, I have absolutely no interest in logo designs or branding. I just love the videos
Great video! Would love to see how you would redesign popular UK food brands
As always, thanks for sharing your skills and creative process with us!
I prefer all of these! Minimalistic designs just look so pretty to me, and your redesigns don't make my head hurt
This makes me want Brandon to redesign every product in every supermarket.
I swear I love this channel so much!, I'm 15yr old kid trying my best to learn Photoshop beacuse I really really love these graphic designs for products. most videos I've watched are very boring tutorial but this one is VERY VERY FUN!!, I tried to do this with my brother's first product from his Bottled Coffee Business. Hopefully you can make a bottled coffee design for inspiration! (or if u want to see my design hehe)
Let’s see the design Finley!
This is the first time I’ve seen your channel, I’ve got to say it’s incredible. I’ve always fancied editing like this but I find it too hard to learn lol 😂
Nice work Brandon 👏🏼
yeah me too
I love these!
9:09 now that’s what I call tomato soup flavoured Soda.
Exactly that's what I was about to say it looks like a soda can! Also logo reminds me of Coca Coal

2:01 omg the orange is just... Ahhhh
Hi, Brandon!
It would be so interesting, if you make a video where you will be making designs with as many mistakes as possible!🙏🏻

Best designer I've ever came across!
You should communicate with gatorade and tell them to change their bottle design into that 6:05.
I doubt it bro😭😭😭
That would be a bad idea for Flamin Hot Cheetos. Their bag is too iconic
Oh my gosh! These are amazing! Companies should hire you for their logo design as you can make them not to complicated and not too simple! I wish these were real! Great job!
No please no. This guy's logos suck
I swear this guy should design every brand logo
I want my chips to be flashy!!)
I like the vibe of the new cheetoh’s bag, but if you were going for a redesign and not necessarily a minimization, then making it a full campfire scene would be super cute: Crossed cheetoh’s like logs, and Chester wearing his sunglasses at night sitting by the fire breathing more fire on it because he can lol. With a little garish colored camper in the background lol.
ur vids r soooo addicting
yea i kinda watched all his videos in an afternoon like 3 months ago when i came across his channel..

They actually turned out really well and would probably make me want to go out and buy them if they did exist. Especially the Gatorade one, the grey felt off and the black made a big difference. And the little duck on The Dawn Bottle was adorable!
