I've seen so many desk set up videos looking very similar to this. Wooden desk, black keyboard/mouse pad, monitor stand with the monitor lighting, the dark Grey wall and all the same headphone stands. No hate though, I can see why people like the look
Well largely it’s because ikea is standard across the world and the Karl by countertop is the perfect size for a desk like this. Once you start with that, you slowly go with all the other things like black wall, etc that to well with it. It just goes well together so naturally it’s popular like Oreos and ice cream. That being said, there are just as many other varieties too.
Seeing your name and as soon as you said "Hey guys" I knew you were Filipino then you said your last name and I was like "Ok he's Fil-Am"😂. Great setup brother and enjoyed the vid. Hope you're doing well and keep producing these quality videos!

If you,re not sold on regular mechanical keyboards, try one with low profile switches like the keychron k1 or the logitech 915. That might suit you better.
I am warming up to the k4. I tried the K1 but I wish it had the legs so you can prop it up a little bit. It feels like it slopes down. Thanks for the suggestions though!

When it comes to mechanical keyboards, i would say it's more like a digging and testing type of procedure. So many switches, keycaps types, the case/chassis material itself, etc... So there is really something for everyone. However that is if you want to take a deeper look at them. Other than that, really gorgeous setup ☺️
I never knew there were so many out there. LOL yeah I'm kind of gettting used to it now, but I'm planning on switching back to the MX keys after a week and see how I would feel. LOL.
@@JonImperial Hi john if you like the MX keys I'm wondering if you're looking for is actually a low-profile keyboard. A low-profile keyboard is one with shorter keycaps and switches than a regular keyboard. It may not be that you don't enjoy mechanical switches, it may just be that you're preference is to type on shorter keys. Even within the Keychron brand that you went with, they have some nice lower-profile options. For your aesthetic as well, a smaller keyboard I think would suit, so some of the keychron smaller boards make sense. Maybe check out their K7 that's now available for preorder. The K1v4 is also a great option as well, if you needed the extra keys or prefer the dedicated function keys. Also, if it is the clickiness of mechanical keyboards that you aren't enjoying, I would try a "red" or "linear" switch.
