The most relatable thing about this video is you wearing a dust mask while your dad totally forgoes PPE. I guess all of our dads just have that in common.
It's one thing to leave a job you are good at to concentrate on creating content you personally enjoy, but for that content to keep evolving around your design and build ideas are truly next level. Love watching you work with your dad and really enjoy watching all your videos. You bring a sense of calm inspiration that excites every viewer. Keep it up Mathew, you are awesome!
Looking back at your older videos, I can see that the workflow, routines, and tools you shared are still super relevant today. But the way you’ve made everything so seamless and personalized now is just next-level. I used to bounce around from tool to tool, trying to optimize my workflow, and honestly, I’d even get distracted tinkering with random stuff. Watching your content made me realize I just need to focus on the work itself instead. Also, I really appreciate how, even after all these years, you’re still the same guy taking the time to reply to comments. It’s rare to see that kind of consistency, and it’s one of the reasons I keep coming back to your channel ❤❤
What I learn the most from your videos is that A) I need to pay way more attention to intentionality with my spaces and B) how much it pays off to do so.
10:00 Pre-drilling with a counter sunk drill bit will help with the splitting! I ran into that when I recently made my plywood slat coffee table and the pre-drilling saved it.
It must be really hard for your family and friends to figure out what you'd like for Christmas or your birthday. When you don't have something, which seems pretty rare to me, you design and build it!😅 Your videos are always great to watch!
Absolutely gorgeous and thoughtful throughout all the way down to the small custom clip to keep the dock from sliding back when pluggin' stuff in. THAT is detail :)
Haven't seen a creator that has personally liked and commented this much. Thank you for taking the time to really go beyond! Glad to know I can justify my 20 hobbies if I just make it look super neat :)
I must say it is so good to 'visit' your home again! I thoroughly enjoyed all your home office, living room and kitchen makeover videos in the past and if you remember, I did ask you how are things back home and would love to see any updates at home. Such videos are ever so inspiring and therapeutic. It is also marvelous to see that your dad is also involved in making these with you. I guess you must have gotten those designing and woodworking genes from him right? Stay safe and happy. Wishing you and Belinda all the best! Cheers, Matthew!
I can only dream of this space. Such an inspiring video for people trying to make the most of their home setup. What's more impressive is that you built this from ideation, woodwork, and even 3D printing. Way to go, Matthew!
8:00 with a whole saw like that to reduce tear out you generally want to drill until the drill bit comes out the other side and you've sawed about half way through and then flip it round and drill the rest from the other side, using where your screw has poked through as the perfect guide :)
I love the slightly darker and richer hue of the white oak in this office revamp compared to the previous makeover - it gives the space more character.

Hey Matthew! 😊 I think the highlight of this video for me was definitely the father-son bonding. Such a heartwarming moment! ❤ I thought your last workspace was already top-notch, but your redesigns just keep raising the bar for work environments and aesthetics. Thanks for another fantastic video!
I've been following your channel since around 2019, and I just gotta say how crazy yet inspiring it is to see your office space constantly changing and evolving to suit your needs/projects. Always love seeing your content, keep it up!

I would’ve never found them myself and after checking out their website where they talk about their certifications regarding formaldehyde emissions it’s clear they care about safety and the environment. Thanks for showcasing these hidden gems that you’ve discovered over the years!

While watching your videos I always get this urge to do something creative. I started taking photos which bring me peace. Every time you remodel your home workspace I say to myself “well, it couldn’t be any better that it is now” and then you proceed to crash that opinion 2-3 years later XD very happy to see how much you have improved not only on planning spaces, but also on woodwork and now, 3D printing, it’s been a crazy adventure seeing you from the first office makeover to this one, keep up with the good work Mr. Encina :D
the amount of motivation and inspiration i get from your videos is insane. as a broke college student, i’m working extra hard in school so that i can afford to have a workspace like this in the future.
Glad to see a new video from Matthew Encina. I can watch this guy do DIY projects all day and have him narrate the actions with that butter smooth voice and and chill vibe.
a tip on the Japanese saw I learned from my dad. He uses one with much finer toothing for that kind of plugs to get a smoother finish, it is a lot easier to cut that way too.

Been following your content for years and I can't express how fantastic your videos are. Your attention to detail, calming energy, and ability to plan and execute are truly next level. Huge inspiration bro.
Just running through this video and I have a tip for trimming the edging. The edging will have a grain and the double trimmer will cut one edge smooth and rip the other. Take them apart and use one trimming blade to cut one side, then run the trimmer on the opposite side. one away from you, then towards you. I hope that makes sense.
Hi Mathew, greetings from Indonesia! It’s so wonderful to see how you take the time to connect and personally respond to everyone in the comments. Thank you for this inspiring video-it’s been such a great learning experience. Your creativity and ability to design clean, aesthetically pleasing layouts are truly motivating.
Literally searched yesterday for your old video where you went through your studio design and design of your desk, and now you hit us with another banger 🎉
Love the designs of the spaces! In case it’s important to you, an air purifyer won’t cut it for a 3D printer. The best solution is to control the airflow and vent it to the outside-you could filter the air before blowing it outside though.
So good to finally see your home office setup again! After all the glimpses into your main office and personal projects (which I’ve really come to enjoy too), there’s just something about your home office that draws me in. Thanks, Matthew, for always being such an inspiration!
Been here since your first desk setup video. Implemented timers to my workspace since then. Super love the felt padding you placed in all of your drawers, makes them feel so much more premium!
Scrolling through all the comments... respect, replying to every one. Very much inspired by your work (this video included). I may have to add you to my list of icons.
This video is just in time! Especially when I've been looking for inspiration to upgrade my home office/desk setup again due to a shift in work setup and I've been wanting to my environment to be more productive and design-inspiring!
If those 3D prints ever start to leak a bit, which I've found them prone to do after a time, I find it helpful to mix up a batch of clear boat resin and just lightly roto cast it inside each model. The next day, you'll have water tight vessels and they won't mold either (water and bacteria like to grow between the layer lines.)
Yeah, white Plastidip works well for me, but it’s super stinky and hard to spray inside something with a small opening and get a good coat. I’ve found a fairly viscous resin to be best. Also resin is usually fairly inert and won’t leak chemicals into your plant (silicone is best). Great comic collection, by the way.
The attention to detail is fascinating, and it's also interesting to see the difference between a designers office and the office of a programmer/maker 😅
Such an increadible ideas I got from you, regarding interior managment of homes and offices. Thanks indeed. There will be a lot of best wishes from Bangladesh.
It's just getting better and better for everytime! Really love the idea of using the BESTÅ to organize stuff. I really wish I could hang one my wall, but I don't really have much space on wall to work with. Looking forward to next workspace video :)
After watching your videos I want to tear down my completely finished and pretty decent home office and start fro scratch, changing literally everything...
Extremely inspired by all of this, thanks so much for sharing your process! It just feels so seamless, a place for everything and everything in its place. Love your work, keep going!
