I think people underestimate how inspiring a space can be when it's aesthetic and just "feels" right. This setup looks amazing, and the B-roll is next level here! Really shows off your skill as a designer as well.
Best setup. This is the only setup in which there is natural light coming in. Otherwise, in all the other setups I haven't seen any natural light, infact, none of them are even near a window. In all those setups you have to keep lights on even daytime. But this one is really good. Natural light, fresh air from window. Excellent setup.
So recently i watched like 30 of those office setup videos and this is legit the first one to tell the viewer, that it doesn't need to be appealing to anyone but yourself
as falling down this rabbit hole of ultimate setups and such Ive redone my own office at least 20+ times this year alone just moving things around to get to what flows the best. My first setup after the pc build would have looked great for youtube, but didnt work so well to daily drive. Now its fairly plane Jane but very functional. My wife wants me to redo her office but I keep emphasizing that I will help and do all the work, but its her space so she needs to feel things out. Love the setup and function with form

This is a great setup! Thanks for mentioning that the space should reflect you, lot of folks are missing this. You need to walk into your home office space and feel inspired!

Sort of. For lighter weight stands I picked up a spring loaded broom rack off of Amazon and I drilled it into the wall. It holds my light stands and boom pole. I wouldn’t put a c-stand on it though. For larger/heavier stands I just keep them built out and in the corner of the studio (I’ve got a much larger space since this video).

The legs are just such a gorgeous feature of this table. There are days where I wish I had bought the smaller version but its too late now. C&B discontinued the Big Sur line after 10+ years of it being in their catalog.
Which one? The one that's on the wall? That's the "Beckett" from Crate & Barrel. I believe it's been discontinued. The other shelf is the Pilsen Graphite & Walnut, also from Crate & Barrel and I believe it's still available.
Great Video! Just subbed. Love so many little parts of what you've done but liked the advice about keeping in mind "who" you're designing for when doing your space! Right on! And of course great job filming and editing.

Love the set up, man. Loved the portion of the video where you talk about personal items you like to use to decorate your set up. I've noticed that a lot of "dream set ups" I see now look clean but lack any personality at all. Happy to see that you emphasized YOU in a "My Setup" type video.
Thank you Tommy! That seems to have resonated with a lot of folks and it makes me really happy to get comments like yours. I hope more people see this and understand what I’m saying there.
You should check out the LG 32" UN880-b 4K with ergo arm. That's what I'm getting for color accuracy (photo/video editing) and the arm, in particular, is pretty awesome for my type of peninsula-style desk setup.
Great job with the whole workspace. I love the amazing B-roll you put into this video! I thought for sure you would runout, but somehow you kept new and interesting footage coming throughout the video, with more and more details to keep interest. I wonder if the outdoor carpet on your gear bench will encourage damaging ESD (electrostatic discharge). All these devices should be housed and electronically protected from ESD, but I would avoid placing memory cards or bare electronics on those surfaces for fear or damage or memory corruption.
thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Interesting point about the ESD. I've seen plenty of studios/people do the carpeted workbench but I've never thought about it. I keep my memory cards in cases, but good call for sure!
Will do saving my pennies right now iam a console player so it need to be pacific to that so I thinking making a table top with the rising legs but trying to come up with an idea to have the consoles in one spot the hardest
I love the video and especially that you have a HM Embody chair! I purchased the Logitech’s version chair brand new for $1100 shipped. You should do a video for your embody vs other desk/gaming chairs. I love my chair! I love your videos. Keep up the great work!
Wow, man! Congrats! I'm a mech engineer who also finally went on a journey of filmmaking, so I'm running a tech youtube channel with pc hardware and review stuff, im investing a lot on quality this week just received my new Canon R6 and also migrated to davinci! Loved to see you space, gear and all! 🤘⚡
Nice setup! I like the ambiance, the colors, and the personalization of it all! One tip: You need to run your GPUs in SLI in order to enjoy the most out of your graphic cards. By them physically not connected to each other, they don't share memory, or talk, if you will, to each other, so they are running as two separate modules. You need to physically connect both cards, either with NVLink or SLI, but NVLink should be a faster protocol, if the cards, support it.
Wow looks amazing! Nice job! Never would have thought of a dinning room table for a desk, very clever. Man I want an ultra wide monitor for sure for editing that timeline! South Florida, Central Florida here! Dude that brick background is dead sexy! My wife needs to hear the last part of this video LOL I don't have that much control LOL
I don’t really use the numpad for editing, but I do use it for photoshop work a lot. All of the layer opacity controls are on the numpad, plus...and time I’m doing estimates for jobs, I have the calculator app open. Numpad is meant to replicate a calculator I suppose.
@@joenicklo Thanks for the feedback. I also realized that you can change the keyboard layout in the settings of DaVinci Resolve as well so that may be able to help me out there. I use Afinity photo already quite a bit but don't seem to use num pad so I think I'm safe to go without it. Thanks!
Hey mate , if it's not too personal, could you tell me your height and weight if you find the Embody a good fit? I'm worried that it doesn't come in different sizes like the Aeron and I'm a bigger guy. Thanks
I love the way you designed your space and that closet organization👌👌 I love it. Gotta design my closet space now lol Love the records as well definitely inspired bro
Something about having dual monitors has always been nice for productivity. One huge monitor would drive me crazy because I like to have one app open on one screen and another app full screen on the main. I do wish there was a more color accurate ultrawide display on the market though. I don't know how I'll like going back to a 16:9 display for video editing. That extra width is so nice for timelines.
You don't need to run in SLI to take advantage of the firepower. Davinci Resolve and other GPU accelerated programs that accept multi-cards utilizes the cards independently.
love this video, along with the final thought and recommendation! thank you for this, I'm curious about the window blinds, what brand or model are they?
What is the grayish paint you used behind the computer? I am getting ready to redo my office aswell. Just found your channel and going to apply some of the tricks and tips to my off road vlogs and videos.
awesome video!! I recently started looking into how to make my office more comfortable for me as I spend a lot of time photo editing and this is great advise. I specially love your gear storage, I've been looking for a better way to organize mine so seeing how you organize yours really helps. by the way how did you make that smaller shelve within the big one for your lenses?
Hi I would like to say that this set up is truly one of the best I have seen and believe me when I say that I've seen a lot! You really made this space your own a very big well done from me! I am taking notes for sure :)
This is one of my favorite office designs I’ve seen. Are those custom covers/cases for the comic books? I have a project where I’m trying to make almost like a big vintage trading card for a poster.
Thanks! The comics are “slabbed” which means they were sent to CGC to get graded (officially given a quality rating) and then encapsulated. I forgot how much it cost me per book but I recall it took several months to get them back after dropping them off at a convention. It’s a scary process for first timers dropping off valuable books but the CGC is very reputable and reliable, plus slabbing books with good grades raises their resale value significantly.

Hey hey! Thanks for watching Bryan. I’d do a chair video if some brands felt like sending me chairs 😅
Wow, man! Congrats! I'm a mech engineer who also finally went on a journey of filmmaking, so I'm running a tech youtube channel with pc hardware and review stuff, im investing a lot on quality this week just received my new Canon R6 and also migrated to davinci! Loved to see you space, gear and all! 🤘⚡
Hey man, where did you get those stand up shelves? Love the industrial feel of those.
Which ones? The ones in the closet are from home depot. The one I’m using for my books and NAS server is the Pilsen shelf from Crate & Barrel.
such a nice workspace! congratulations
Thank you!
Nice setup!
I like the ambiance, the colors, and the personalization of it all!
One tip:
You need to run your GPUs in SLI in order to enjoy the most out of your graphic cards. By them physically not connected to each other, they don't share memory, or talk, if you will, to each other, so they are running as two separate modules. You need to physically connect both cards, either with NVLink or SLI, but NVLink should be a faster protocol, if the cards, support it.
Thanks! Negative on the SLI sir. Davinci resolve utilizes both cards independently and does not react well to SLI being enabled.
@@joenicklo Welp, that I didn't know... Thanks for the info!
Loved your cinematography aesthetic and the message at the end! Keep these videos rolling! 👊😎
Thanks so much!!
I got the dining room table idea from an old job. They went with ikea dining tables for desks.
Where did you get the shelf shown at 12:33...
Crate & Barrel. It's the Pilsen shelf.
I’m drooling over this entire space!
haha! glad you like it man.
Super cool to see the editing space and the personality behind it. Thanks for sharing ✌🏼
Glad you enjoyed it!
one of my favourite TH-camrs! love the home office setup, it pleases my OCD 😬 great video as always Joe!
@Driven Filmes I am looking for a 60% keyboard to minimize desk space. Do you use your num pad much for video editing?
Thanks
6'1 and 310lbs.
Shoot amazing space. I need all that .what’s the dimensions of the room. That desk is sick. I use a dining room table too!!
It’s a 10x11 room, pretty tight with that huge table.
Dude love the gear closet setup! Looks so clean!
Wait until you see the new setup!
I love the way you designed your space and that closet organization👌👌 I love it. Gotta design my closet space now lol Love the records as well definitely inspired bro
Thank you!! 😊
Cool video man! Very nice footage! 👍🤙😎 Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
The Yamaha AG03 is such a convenient little hybrid interface/mixer! Love the whole setup too - dropping a sub!
Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful!!! Do you use a teleprompter for your videos ? If so, what app you use ?
Hi Joel, no sir. I don't use a prompter, I've considered it but I like to keep it natural.
@@joenicklo so how do you remember all of that information?? Thanks
I record in segments and edit the mess ups. If it’s technical information that I haven’t memorized, I’ll stop and look at my notes.
Well made video! Really enjoyed the space that you created for yourself. Subscribed!
Awesome, thank you!
What a tasteful and functional space... love the quality B-roll too, it shows off your talent so well. Subbed👍
Thank you! Hope you enjoy the content
I was considering an oddesy g9 ultrawide for my future setup but the dual monitor setup looks clean asf!
Would you give me some more information about what colour you have on the wall? I mean that nice blue.
It's actually a grey, but the LED lights from the PC is tinting it.
How are you running two 1080Ti's without connecting them using a SLI bridge?
You don't need to run in SLI to take advantage of the firepower. Davinci Resolve and other GPU accelerated programs that accept multi-cards utilizes the cards independently.
Watched for the setup, staying for the production! Very clean setup 😍
Appreciate it!
love this video, along with the final thought and recommendation! thank you for this, I'm curious about the window blinds, what brand or model are they?
Thanks for watching. The blinds are actually plantation shutters that I had installed throughout the entire house.
What is the grayish paint you used behind the computer? I am getting ready to redo my office aswell. Just found your channel and going to apply some of the tricks and tips to my off road vlogs and videos.
It's a color match of "Neutral Grey", also known as 50% grey. I took a photo grey card to Home Depot and had them color match it.
@@joenicklo ok thanks.
awesome video!!
Glad it was helpful! The smaller shelf was just a small plank of wood covered in outdoor carpet and two heavy duty shelf brackets.
I love bear poster frame we’re did you buy that
I got it from Allposters.com a long time ago. www.allposters.com/-sp/Amsterdam-Appolohal-Russian-Hockey-Posters_i2476602_.htm
Hi I would like to say that this set up is truly one of the best I have seen and believe me when I say that I've seen a lot! You really made this space your own a very big well done from me! I am taking notes for sure :)
Glad you like it! appreciate you taking the time to check it out.
@@joenicklo You are welcome no worries! :)
Ver nice. Congrats!
The carpeted metal shelf is a great idea - I will definitely be stealing this for my own organization in the future.
Let me know how it works out for you.
