I have to say... kudos to Kawasaki for doing whatever they want without thinking (exclusively) about sales and market trends.
They are the only ones who keep the 600cc class alive (yes, I know, there's a new CBR coming, and I'm super happy) and have no fear of making bonkers machines like their supercharged monsters. Like them or not, I think Kawasaki and KTM are the manufacturers who still truly have passion for motorcycles.

I thought the same, to be honest.
The demise of 600cc in-line 4 is a shame; yes they have to be some of the most impractical and irrational vehicles ever conceived by Mankind, but man are they awesome. R7s and Co. do nothing for me. Nothing against parallel twins (KTM knows how to makes them exciting) but I don't want them in a Japanese sportbike. In my very archaic and stubborn opinion, it just doesn't match the character of the bike. I guess I'm just old. I'm gonna go yell at some clouds now...

I bought my 24 ZX6R in pearl white a few months ago. I absolutely love it! Few things to add for your video. It has 4 modes, note 2: Sport, Road, Rain, and Rider modes. In order to activate KQS (Kawasaki Quick Shifter), there are two ways: Press and hold the select and up button at the same time, or press and hold the 2 buttons on the TFT display, this will send you to the settings menu. From there, you can manually activate KQS. All in all, great video man!

i bought my cbr 600 RR purely because it was a dream since my childhood. And i love everything about it. Motorcycles are all about emotions. If you go that far and saying you don't need a sportsbike on the streets (which is objectively right) you also could say why even drive a motorcycle? You don't need a bike at all. A car is much safer and practical.

    • @AbbyFA
      @AbbyFA 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

I can get behind that. I feel like MotoJitsu was criticizing sportbikes on streets a bit too much here, which is whatever, it's not practical and it's not for everyone, but I can choose to commute to work with a supersport cause I want to, and there's nothing you can do about it, I'm not doing it for ego, for you or anyone else. I do it for me lol

    • @CityTrader

motorcycle is waaay more practical for me in the city I live .... skipping the traffic, what saves me A LOT of time everyday, can park EVERYWHERE (with car looking for space, parking away from destination), lower fuel cost (even with rapid acceleration, which save more time) , can take daily shopping in a backpack anyway, lower tax & insurance than a car ... I own the car too though but barely use it

MotoJitsu: I think you may be underselling that 750. In his case, Suzuki seems to have focused on delivering things to the buyer that are not easily modified and, instead, focusing on the core of the bike.
    1) With a lower seat, that bike will be the more comfortable bike to more people.
    2) Despite the displacement advantage, the bike is lighter.
    3) That halogen headlight is easily replaced by the 750 owner, but ZX-6R owners are not likely to pull the head to install titanium valves.
    4) Read about the benefits of fully floating rotors.
    5) The 2024 ZX-6R has been a bit neutered on the top-end due to the cams now being smaller. The 750 is still as it was.
    6) To my eye, the display on the 750 is nicer.
Hop-ups on a larger motor will result in larger gains than they will on a smaller motor which would further increase the 750's HP and torque advantage.
The 750 lacks traction control, ABS, and drive by wire, but I'm not sure a 750 needs traction control and, for many, the lack of drive by wire is a plus. For the hardcore racers, I think some of them might actually view the lack of ABS as a plus, but I'm not sure about that.
I'm not anti-Kawi at all. I've had three of them and just bought a ZX-14R.

With the 750 so far ahead it definitely helps to keep the 636 sights closer to the 600 class lol.
Having ridden both, I prefer my 750. Not a fan of the tiny display and electrinics that would interupt the 1 to 1 handling of the GSXR. Also, much more comfort on the 750 and there are quick shifters available anyways. Racing my friends fully modded and tuned 636 vs my stock 750 I put about 2 bus lengths on him.
Love both but the 750 is a legend for good reason. If they update the electronics on the 750 itll be even greater in desireability. Just my opinions.

I ride sport bikes on the street in traffic daily, maybe not the most practical but perfectly doable. I don't give two shits on whether *I* look cool or not, I just adore the sport bike design. High seat, low clip-ons, because even the ergos on something like a Ninja 650 kills the looks for me. As far as I know the last R6 to be sold for the street did have LED lighting, an LCD dashboard with a sweeping needle, ABS, TC, and rider modes. And you may also want to consider the MVAugusta F3 800, and the Panigale V2 if you're also counting the GSX750R. They may not be four cylinder, but they are also competing on the World SuperSport Championship. And the new CBR600RR, although that still isn't in dealerships as far as I know. But you are 1000% correct in that people that are bored on a 600 have no idea how to ride. Take it to a course or a trackday and they'll see how high the ceiling is on those bikes.

I never considered buying a Kawasaki Bike because of the typical green(i don't like green) and always wanted a Yamaha R6.
Now.. Considering that a Yamaha R6 even pre 2010 cost over 10k+ in Germany and a 2012+ Model cost exactly as much as a 2024 ZX-6R is insane.
Gotta admit that i fell in love with Kawasaki today and definitely will buy this bike once i have my license in a few months!

You can always get the bike in another color, or even order aftermarket fairings in whatever color you want. Don't let color stop you from buying a motorcycle, especially when it's so easy to change it.

I agree in all he is saying and is truth naked bikes or straight up bikes are quicker doing sharp mountain corner cos less efford is need and that to keep up with the naked ones on the mountains the sportbike rider have to be a guy with track courses n very fast rider etc and no all of them are , agree with all that. But the sportbike give you a feeling that no other bike give you , you can feel the front like crazy, you basically steering the bike from the front suspension thats why is harder to steer n need more strength to turn etc in a nakedbike the handlebar is taking all that weight off the front for you and thats why feel like the front is floating and make it so much easy n effortless to performe. If i would be a rich man who can afford track days every weekend to feel that feeling i wont use it in the street but unfortunately isnt my case and i have to use it in the street. Keep it up guys ✊

3:45 Situation Normal. Some points you skidded over: Ride by Cable -not Wire. So no Auto-blipper downshift. Also from CycleWorld reviews -unless you have a Motojitsu wrist; is Cable a bit snatchy? Found one older ZX where holding SET for 2 secs. gets you into Quickshift. Rider modes = 3. Rain, road and spurt; all converging depending on what Level Rider sets. And finally Redline at 14,5. Interesting point too; that Kawi got better mid-range by extending the middle two intakes by an inch... I've been watching MotoJ. for some years and it's great to find content by someone who knows which way is up. The alternatives like maxwrist or DanDan's headlines give me the willies. But: 44Teeth Rules.

It's not necessarily ego, sport bikes are cool. As in, I think they're cool, and I enjoy the sound and the look, even outside of a track context. Couldn't care less if nobody ever noticed me, in fact I'd prefer it- I'd be less self conscious. Being unable to imagine people enjoying something that isn't purely practical for a reason other than external validation is telling on yourself a bit.
