If this helps anyone. (Nice video by the way) First. If you are a new rider wanting to move up but afraid of starting on a 600cc. This is the perfect motorcycle. You can set it to 70hp and Full power mode is around 100hp.. and unlocked ($3000) 128hp... You can progress yourself and your motorcycle as you learn each other. Also, 17:36 An unlocked 636 will compete with a stock zx10r. My first was a new 2021 Zx-6r and i traded for the 2024 Zx-6r. Stock, the 2021 is 20mph faster. Unlocked the 2024 is barely faster. And the 2024 is definitely more balanced. Possibly superior to it's predecessor. But if you are an avid rider. You will need to unlock the 2024 Zx-6r (i will at 4,000mi) if you want more than 140mph. Or just buy the R-7 for $7,000 less.
Bro where you tuning your bike. I'd go somewheres else if they're charging you 3000$ 😂 It's around 300 to unlock it. Also, please send me your dealer that's selling the r7 7k cheaper. They're only 3-4k cheaper where I'm at
“It’s a bad mama jama” is all I needed to hear. I’m sold 😂. Thanks for doing this I just ordered a 40th anniversary edition and all I can think about is how comfortable I will be. I’ll take your word for it that it’s comfortable but I might still swap out the rear sets

From a semi-beginner rider man of 43 yrs, rode dirt bikes as a kid, rode sportbikes up & down residential streets in my mid 20's, but never broke the penny bank and went to a dealership. When Covid hit, bought an Hyosung GDR250 first bike and now I'm ready to pull the trigger, trade in my 250 & hop on a 636. Maybe I'm turning into my dad " GOD REST HIS SOUL ", but i really enjoyed this review from an gentleman that's not a juvenile. I’m been riding my ninja 400 about a year now. Thinking of upgrading to the zx-6r. Do you think it’ll be a good idea? Will I notice any differences besides power and seating?
The 400 is more Comfortable, too bad you can't keep your 400, and get the ZX-6R also. Then you would have comfort and Cool. Take it slow - that 600 is one fast bike- totally different than a 400. Just be careful- Please Stay in Touch my friend!!
@@RayBowdenRides thank you! I rode the zx6r back to back with the new cbr600rr. I loved the kawasaki and am going to put a deposit on one! The engine has so much range for a 600, it's very streetable. The only thing letting the kawasaki down was the quickshifter only going up. The cbr was close but with the under seat exhaust it was just too hot for me. And the engine had less low and mid range on the honda- it wasn't as fun. Can't wait to get my zx6r!
I have a 2013 cbr 600rr. I’m thinking about picking up a new 636. Do you believe it would be worth it, or is it not substantial enough of a difference to justify buying the 636? On Maui the new 636 is about 17 out the door.
Man that's a Tough one - you would pick up the tft, I would say no. Keep what you got Bprice. Unless you got a bunch of money burning a hole in your Pocket!!
@@RayBowdenRides interesting, I respect that, I do love the cbr. I hear so many great things about the new 636 it’s hard to ignore. Envy is the their of joy, I’ll keep with Honda. Appreciate the reviews and always enjoy watching you on these bikes. Have a good one boss.
@bprice3231 I'm not trying to tell you buy something just to buy it! It's a AWESOME bike the Zx6r no doubt about it. You have a AWESOME bike to! If you can afford it- you won't regret it! But don't overextend yourself is all im saying!
The ZX 6R , feels physically bigger, But- the 600 is not that much more and you would get 30-45 hp more. The 400 is a tad more comfortable. Hope that helps.
Thank you for this. I've been going back and forth between this and a gsxr. Im 39, 6'2 240 and this would be my first bike. Have always driven sports cars and I rode dirt bikes growing up. I was convinced I was done riding and when I moved to NJ from RI I didn’t transfer my motorcycle endorsement. Guess what I get to do again. Lol. Never say never
The 2021 model Zx6r came with the Battlax tires and I didnt realize how good they were until I changed them. My rear tire was changed first at 12,000 miles. Thats right you read that correctly, 12,000 miles. Now I must inform you the steel belt was showing through by the time I changed that rear tire but I dont think 12,000 miles from a rear tire is all that bad. In fact, I think its great because I went to a much cheaper tire (Shinko Advance 5) and ive already put 3,000 miles on that Shinko and let me tell you I honestly dont think its going to last another 3,000 miles because its already going bald and im losing traction in the cold weather. I also forgot to mention that I rode all through last winter with the exception of four days of snow, and this winter also with the exception of about 20 days where it was too sketchy to ride. Ive been wanting to try those Rosso's
You will love Rosso 4's I've owned 2 pairs of them , great mileage out of them too! Thanks for Watching and Commenting my friend 🙏🏻, Please Stay in Touch!!
Hey love the video! I've been thinking about getting the 40th anniversary so thanks for sharing your thoughts on the bike! Would you mind sharing the mount you're using for the camera on the mirror? Seems like a great spot to record some trips
@edwardfrazier1004 Hey Edward call Plano Kawasaki and talk to Aj , they have a brand new one they have discounted- here is there Link call them on Tuesday, there closed today! g.co/kgs/bgtixqD
Where is the vest from sir? I've really been contemplating getting this bike because the used bike market up here in PA is kind of trash right now! I just wish they had some of the color schemes from the 650 and Vulcan series... I'm weighting between the white or black model.. I think I'll need to see them in person to decide lol. Because I'm undecided online.
Hey Ray, great video great review. Did you ride the ZX4RR and have a review coming on it? Which one gives more smiles per miles the zx6r or zx4rr? Thanks!
@@RayBowdenRides for sure it's fun but also hard lol. I don't want to miss out on what I could have had :p. I really wish we had demo days in my area but we dont :(
i like mine, got it about 7 months ago, its number 101 made . I do have alot of gripes compared to my 09 r6 and 09 cbr 600rr. 1. I'm 6ft tall with longer legs, when i put the ball of my feet on pegs and tuck my legs are above the groove on the tank, along with my neck hurting after 20min from tucking. 2. The difference between modes is very minimal, i am however thankful for the rain mode, it helped. 3. The quick shifter is not dialed in correctly, i was told you cant adjust it? but idk. i dont use it 4. The Welds on the frame are ATROCIOUS like a 2 yr old welded it. Very ugly globbed up welds 5. Windshield is basically non existent, been waiting 8 months for a new one, Zero gravity finally dropped 4 new ones 6. The NEW TFT display is ok at first, but you quickly realize its more a distraction than anything, i would happily trade for an actual needle dial 7. The APP that goes with this bike, ABSOLUTLEY USELESS on the zx6r, it was built for the zx-10. They should have just left it out on this bike. Its like going to Six Flags, and seeing all the cool rides you won't be able to get on. 8. Bike with a slip-on just seems slow. Compared to my other bikes its very slow, being a 636cc i was expecting alot more than what it's tuned for oem. i will report back after i do my thing to make it more better and faster for me
That’s for the great video. I was wondering, since you rode both this and the GSXR750 which one would you pick and which one was more comfortable to ride? Do you have any plans on making a video comparing them? My local dealer has one of the 40th’s in stock but I can decide between it or the GSXR. Thank you!
Man get the 40th Anniversary, there beautiful! I would say the gsxr 750 I think was a touch more comfortable, but it's really a flip of a quarter on comfort! Thanks for Watching and Commenting 🙏🏻 and Stay in Touch!!!
@@RayBowdenRides Thanks for your response! I’m kind of a short rider. Did you notice any difference on reaching the ground on either bike, was one easier than the other?
@@RayBowdenRides I got a 28” Inseam. I do wear boots when I ride i think they give me an extra inch. I’m pretty sure I’d need to do just 1 foot down. Do you know if they make a low seat option for these bikes?
@3asato you'll be fine 1 foot down at worst , you could soften the compression on the back a touch to to help a little more, but you'll be fine!! Is this your first bike , it sounds like no - you've owned others.
I like the Zx6, the tft and look! But you can't beat a 750's power!! It's up to you- Thanks for Watching and Commenting my friend 🙏🏻, Thanks for being apart of the Channel! Stay in Touch!!
Nice review. If you have the chance to test a Triumph Street Triple RS 765, would like to hear your thoughts on a comparison vs the GSX-R 750 or ZX6R. Keep up the great work! Trying to decide if I should go naked or sport. Coming from a retro. Thanks.
The Gsxr 750 has More Grunt like when your getting on the highway, you don't really need to drop a gear. But the 600 is a very Unique machine, Very Precise and Super fast for 600. You can't go wrong with either one of them.
My friend has one but he wants to upgrade already he told me to take over the $300 payments.. he already payed of 4k on it so i would be getting it for arround 9k.. should i do it

To get him on two wheels is my excuse to upgrade and have two bikes in different classes
Glad I found your channel, I’m just getting back into street riding at 54. Been just riding dirt bikes since my last street bike, an 1989 ZX10. Just picked up a 1988 CBR 1000 Hurricane as a project and something to ride next summer. Man I knew we were kindred spirits when you mentioned that Blackwing. That’s my Goldilocks car(manual, V8, RWD, Sedan). One day! Interesting comment about how the cable throttle doesn’t allow the manufacturer to neuter the throttle like a bunch of manufacturers are doing. I thought a cable in 2024 was behind the times, but that’s a good argument for it. I’m curious to know how this stacks up against the new “Baby ‘blade” from Honda. Not sure if Plano Kawi has a Honda franchise, so no big deal if not. In a year where we actually got two new 600cc sport bikes, would be interesting to see how they stack up against each other in the real world.
It would be a good comparison for sure! I've talk to a couple Tuners since the video and 1 said they can still control the velocity Stacks- that supposedly move inside the air box- but for the most part the throttle plates are controlled by the cables. Hey man have a Awesome weekend and 2024!! Good talking too you again my friend! All these manufacturers make Awesome products now! Tty again soon.👍
$10,299, that is what I paid for mine, being prepend by the dealer and picking it up on Tuesday, bit early for the season, but it's on sale and the dealer only had two, so I jumped on it. Oh yeah, I'm 54 and It's very comfortable for me, not as comfortable as my Ninja 400 or my VFR800 interceptor, but it will do. Come on you old farts, Super sports are not just for 20 year olds!!!
I love it, I live in Dallas too, so I’m definitely going to give Plano Power Sports a go. Plus, I enjoyed the Ninja 650 video and the Ninja ZX4RR-(uh). I am sooooooooooo going for the ZX4RR, it makes so much sense to me.

I would like to see you doing reviews on the classics like the iconic 900RR, Ninja ZX7R, Suzuki SRAD 750, Ducati 916, MV Augusta F4, 1998 15:19 Yamaha R1…. Not sure who your viewership is but those of us in our 50’s and 60’s would sure love to see that

Thanks for Watching and Commenting my friend 🙏🏻, Thanks for the info!!!

Is the gsxr750 a much faster bike? Or not too much of a difference? And which one would you go with ?
Either, if you want TFT AND all the electronics Zx6r, if not 750 is your bike - either are badboys.
Going to test ride one tomorrow on my birthday, so excited!
Oh fun fun ,let me know what you Think!!
Happy birthday also!

@bprice3231 I'm not trying to tell you buy something just to buy it! It's a AWESOME bike the Zx6r no doubt about it. You have a AWESOME bike to! If you can afford it- you won't regret it! But don't overextend yourself is all im saying!
which one do u think is better to ride daily? zx4r or zx6r? is it a lot of difference besides the engine
The ZX 6R , feels physically bigger, But- the 600 is not that much more and you would get 30-45 hp more. The 400 is a tad more comfortable. Hope that helps.
I recently sold my Yamaha XSR 900. a true sports bike is a little intimidating, is that warranted?
It can be , if you feel uneasy- don't do it.

@jhas727 That's true, That's funny the way you said that!! Thanks for the smile!

I've really been contemplating getting this bike because the used bike market up here in PA is kind of trash right now! Would this be a Good First Beginner Motorcycle 🏍️???🤔🤔🤔🤔
No not really- to fast!! That's just my thoughts, I'm sure there will be someone comment on this Derek!!! Please be careful!
i like mine, got it about 7 months ago, its number 101 made .
3. The quick shifter is not dialed in correctly, i was told you cant adjust it? but idk. i dont use it
4. The Welds on the frame are ATROCIOUS like a 2 yr old welded it. Very ugly globbed up welds
5. Windshield is basically non existent, been waiting 8 months for a new one, Zero gravity finally dropped 4 new ones
6. The NEW TFT display is ok at first, but you quickly realize its more a distraction than anything, i would happily trade for an actual needle dial
Compared to my other bikes its very slow, being a 636cc i was expecting alot more than what it's tuned for oem.
i will report back after i do my thing to make it more better and faster for me
Dang sorry to hear that, Stay in touch and Ride Safe my friend! Thanks for watching and Commenting 🙏🏻.
@3asato how short are you? What's your inseam, I'm a 30 inch inseam.

The Gsxr 750 has More Grunt like when your getting on the highway, you don't really need to drop a gear. But the 600 is a very Unique machine, Very Precise and Super fast for 600. You can't go wrong with either one of them.

ZX-6R. Good Bike.
I really like the Blackwing, but GM quality has gone downhill so much that I’ve never buy one.
@larryechols6060 dang , that's sad to hear, Good talking to ya again. Have a happy new year!
If the bike is flashed that can void the warranty on the bike is my understanding on it but the cable throttle is better than ride by wire

I'm not sure how I feel with a Kawasaki in all white
Wait till you see it!
@@RayBowdenRides very true however I can't step foot in a dealership my backside park is up silly just walking through the door knowing that you're gonna get reamed. I might've mentioned before back in the day when I had my ZX six and 636 I got leftovers at seven grand apiece this was 04 and 07 . I just can't justify paying these prices they have these days to take a chance to get by some old lady who can't see over the steering wheel. And you have some of the best reviews and the painting about the bikes and then most keep it up
@kiethpederson7558 thank you Keith for the kind words 🙏🏻, Stay in Touch and have a AWESOME weekend.
I’m trying to sell my ninja 400 to get a Zx6r 😀

There’s something about these white Ninjas that just don’t look good to me… I want to like it, but I don’t.

@@RayBowdenRides - Haha, nice… I actually love that metallic black with the red trim version they’d had for the last few years or so… almost pulled the trigger on that one, but very happily went with the Rs660 instead
