No not really, either way is fine. I hooked it the way it came out with the bottom opening to the right and the top opening to the left . Hope this helps!
Hyou ey man still watching your videos. I just rebuilt distributor on my super a. Im having trouble with the timing procedure. You got anything on that?
Yeah no problem, the timing is actually pretty simple. These can technically fire at any position on the cap as long as the designated #1 is going to the #1 cylinder. I personally like to keep mine at the proper #1 spot. Pull the plugs , bump to #1 top dead center catching it just as it starts to go down. Set the mag in after turning the rotor towards #1 on the cap but dont let it snap. Set it in place , snug the bolts, spin it around again a full revolution to #1 then pull the mag slightly away from the block and that should be at #1 and ready to start.
Does the orientation of the Governor spring matter? Do the hooks need to face a particular way?
