I can imagine that this was what the original is going for, I like the gap between each sound in the original though, the tune is nice here but I like the distance between each sound it really put me in this musical, clear headed trance.
Wow, you did it! this is daunting as all heck. The brassey chorus section really sounds unnerving and brimming with tension but the followup of harmony really gives it a glimmer of hope. I love this. Thank you.
If I had to guess, it would probably be the horn-like sounds at the beginning, that could turn off some folks at the start. Migut sound dissonant and stuff. But the following part is just so good... it's like, you can feel the music permeating your entire being!
Most Norfair themes go for the whole volcanic, hot and harsh theme, but this is fantastic, as it goes for a more ambient sound, more akin to the original theme. I like it!

There’s such a nice “dullness” to this one where the shift in pitch kinda instills a sense of dread and dreariness. Like the emptiness of space is always with you and the only way to eacape is to push forward. Idk I love Metroid and the OST’s in general have always had a special place in my heart.

There's just something about Metroid and Super Metroid that's impossible to recapture, even with Metroid Dread, Nintendo can't make games that match these, but you know what? I can't blame them, there's just so much to think about, in these older games you didn't have to worry about so much, NES Metroid in particular seems to get people imagining a similar scenario about playing Metroid on an old CRT in a dark room, all by yourself with nothing much to worry about, my scenario includes being surrounded by empty bottles, plates, and bags for any snacks you might have had along the way. You started this journey with a few people, now the party's over, everyone's gone, even the friend who stayed with you the longest, now it's just you and the game, you're left alone to finish it, that's what Metroid feels like to me, a journey, an adventure, there isn't much in the World that gets my mind thinking up stuff like this anymore, but Metroid is one of them.
Nintendo finally gave metroid some love and God damn is it long awaited. Dread was fantastic and I hope dearly they realize that even if it doesn't have the numbers of Zelda or mario, the people are clamoring for new metroid titles. I know i am.

Real synth sounds are a lot more immersive than the original digital sounds. Kraids Lair is my favorite so far.
The intro for kraid's lair was really intense to listen to.
