Leobog uses extreme thick poron foam as plate and case foam. The switch sheet is poron too, so its really no surprise they sound so super deep and thocky and poppy and just amazing
great video loved the production quality and minimal editing!
Thanks! :)
do you have any other budget keyboard recommendations like this one? I am planning to switch in to "enthusiast" keyboards and will buy my first one. much appreciated
The Sugar65 and GMK67-s Are pretty sweet options for this more foamy "tiktoky" sound signature at a lower price point, at a bit of a higher price point pretty much anything from QWERTY Keys is always my go to suggestion for beginners
I got this exact keyboard for my first custom build, but if if couldn’t, i’d get a rainy 75 or a yunzi 71
@@InnerFire6213 I went with xinmeng-m71, it is sold under 2 other names i can't remember. Very happy with it
I honestly think I'd rather miss it than look at that knob… like having a ballsack hitch cover on the back of a vehicle
Sound and overall value are nice though
Nice vid mate
Hahahaha the way you described the knob gave me a chuckle for real. Thanks for the comment, appreciate it!
there is an aftermarket cap for the knob that you could swap
randomly, i was just trying to put mathematical symbols on the driver of my keyboard and it almost crashed, now i see for the first time a keyboard with mathematical symbols on it on this video that was recommended by youtube
I have always stayed away from the epoch as it was kind of such an obtainable sound for a much lower price. This being because the pe foam mod is so easy and so cheap
Yes but you still need a keyboard to do the mod on right?
@@benfromsg yes i know. Im saying why not yo purchase the epoch
@@Shamuel-0 yeah, I’m agreeing with you. It’s literally a game of finding the cheapest all-metal keyboard to do the mod on. Unless well, you like the look of the epoch/evlov
Where do you find it for only 50 bucks?
Abit of liberties taken because over at ketch’s it is 99SGD, which is about 53USD.
u guys shld hear cerakeys on this board, holy thock
Yeah did it in a previous video! Very thocky!
To bad it doesn't support VIA then it would be worth even more to many more people. The rainy75 will be better as it has support.
100% but for the price though, a lot of people will jump at it over the rainy. Easy recommend for beginners. If they want something fancier with a backweight, rainy is good.
@@benfromsg The Lebog is same price on Amazon as the Rainy75 basically $99
ok but lets be honest dude... i was 1k back in 2021. covid prices skyrocketed for boards that arent worth shit today... And i can appreciate the video but i dont think that they did a whole lot of engineering ... loads of keyboards before it sound like that... and for the most part you can pretty much have that sound in a cheap plastic board...
For what it’s worth, back then the Owlab brand did command the hype and price. The Epoch essentially paved the way for PE foams to be included as a norm in many kits. Other boards I can’t say so, but the Epoch is definitely not inflated by COVID prices. Even the Spring was innovative in its implementation of the leaf spring mount with cantilever style mounting. And as you say “loads of boards sound like that” but are they 50ish USD in price and all metal? I doubt so. I guarantee you that you can’t replicate the same PE sound exactly in a “plastic”board compared to an alu one. I’ve done it in many videos, none of them are close, less polycarbonate cases. And machined polycarbonate is definitely not cheap plastic by any standards!
@@benfromsg owllabs as a brand started the trend yes... i just cant see how id ever pay 1k for a epoch in this year, or in 2021.. Theres so many boards that are much better and arent that much. And lets say that the plastic boards dont sound the same... cuz they wont be exactly the same but its really not far from it.. full foams + 1.2mm PCB PC plate and flex cuts is not innovative... u find that everywhere in the budget boards... the unfortunate reality is that the sound profile is achieved with cheaper boards so theres no real reason to get an owllab board anymore unless the design is what you are after, and in that category the are mid at best. your vid was great showcasing the board. i just really dont think its anything special in this saturated market...
