- There's no denying the Galaxy S24 Ultra is a stunning phone. But, there is a phone in Samsung's Galaxy S24 lineup that hits a lot of the same flagship sweet spots, without sacrificing anything important, and charges you less for it. Plus, it's lighter, smaller, and more comfortable to use. It's the unsung hero of the range: the Galaxy S24+. Join me as I talk through why it's the Goldilocks phone for Samsung this year.

Got the regular s24. Best phone I've ever had. Perfect size to put inside a pocket , easy handling. Most people will use the S-pen for a short while and ditch it very fast. Don't waste your money. The s24 does everything you need. Be wise.
I'm using the S24+ as it was better deal open-box but I am absolutely planning to return and get the smaller S24. How is battery?? I use heavily lol
I have the s23. That phone is the perfect size
how's the battery?
@@fredyyycci use an s23 and i get around 6-7 hours of screen on time which depending on the person is either more than enough or not enough. For me is not bc i'm a verry heavy user, doing most of my schoolwork on my phone, gaming, consuming media and 6 hrs videocalls with a friend so it's still pretty good and if i can always charge it while doing some homework or using my pc and if i need the phone to last,i can easly bc of how good the stand by is on it and it looks like the battery on s24 is even better(especialy the sd version)
My s pen still in very daily use after a year of the 23U, my friend
The S24 Plus is an expensive phone too. I think a mid-range model like the A54 is the right balance of everything.
Naw trust and believe..the battery life alone makes the plus a must have
A series is extremely laggy. S23 FE is the right balance.
@Thelatebloomer23 not the new one . A35 and up is really good .
I traded in my S23fe for S24+. Hated the S23fe from the start. It has good camera and snappy performance but I hated the ergonomics. 6.4 display, heavy, poor finger print scanner. I went from S20fe to S23fe and it felt like a downgrade to comfort.
A Series is pretty underspecced compared to midrange of other phone manufacturers
I have the 23 Ultra a year, i do enjoy the S Pen experience but it is an evil phone in regards to my jeans pocket😂. I came from an S8+ .
My next device will be a 'S20 something + device' , i prefer the rounded corners and to be honest wouldn't totally miss the S Pen especially since the 6.1 update took away Live Messages.
Nice upload 👍🏻
Thanks for this, I don't use a Sammy (OP12), but I appreciate the practical point of view. Well done, keep them coming!!
You can't justify same model with 2 different chip and different performances.
If people buy a flagship and don't use it fully: it's up to them.
I know what and why i buy a flagship and even me, having owned Samsung phones during 12 years, i can't stand for Samsung for that. It's just not fair.
Exactly. While few regions get the snapdragon version of s24 and s24+, the fact is samsung knows that its main sales isn't in the regions where the snapdragon version except ultra are being sold, so they strategized to selling exynos only to top selling markets to maximize sales and profit in those rehions as well as show increased sales figures in exynos versions since the people who can't differentiate between processors and/or have enough funds to buy the ultra model.
I have seen many many reviews of the s24 and s24+ exynos versions to conclude that they aren't worth buying.
Instead one can go for MI 14 ultra if they want a super powerful phone or just go with some other phone which is a flagship spec one.
Also, Camera processing is shit in exynos versions
@@destertewbro, you have no idea of what Exynos 2400 is capable of then. I'm using the S24+ for about a week now and regarding camera processing, I find it way more natural than the S24U. Unless people like oversharpened pics, but that's up to them. Also, being a new chip and all it's going to get way more optimized in the future. Don't get me wrong, I always preferred SD phones but this one feels just as good, no overheating and stuff like that like we used to have in the 990 or previous Exynos.
Samsung ceo is a millionaire, he can afford the galaxy 41 ultra if he wanted to

Regular S24 is a phenomenal phone
I'm on my new s24 right now got it yesterday 💪 after 15+ years with iPhone and I'm loving it
Before I bought the S24, I went to best buy and looked at the 24 & 24+ side by side. I went with the 24 because I couldn't see the difference in resolution and the 24 has the same body size as the P30 it replaces. If you like bigger screen, then go with the 24+. But, if you prefer smaller screen, you can't go wrong with the regular 24.
Yeah, even if you enable the full QHD resolution on the 'plus' version - which isn't enabled by default - the difference isn't massive.
How about the battery? Is it good on the s24 regular since it's smaller than the plus
@@MrZakarias01 I get 7 hours of sot with about 20% - 25% left.

Once I got S22U I became fully satisfied with performance and available functions and design and others. Then I stopped watching unboxing, reviews, comparisons and other smartphone videos. I opened this video only because I'm eating right now 😊 and wanted to watch something. I think one day I'll need to buy new phone. And if I'll have enough money It'll definitely be Ultra. The biggest and most expensive model is always better than cheaper models.
I understood that when I had N10+ and used it simultaneously with brother's S21+.
As for me Spen is very useful for writing and working with Excel tablets. But today new Ultra on launch date costs as much as 3 month salaries 😮
I sold the S24U and got the S23+. I just didn't like the size and it was more than I needed. S23+ is the right size for me!

Yep I think your spot on with this review ... the only weak area of the 24 plus is the camera which isn't bad but is behind other phones in it's price range .

@@aspect359 s24 plus is worse than the OnePlus 12 spec for spec and performance wise. Even the camera system on the s24+ is worse , with oversaturated and unrealistic colors, bad night mode and bad zoom. S24+ also overheats faster and throttles itself to oblivion as it can't keep up playing anything heavy as compared to the OnePlus with its monstrous 16gb of ram and large vapor chamber. OnePlus 12 has an extra gaming chip to boos frame rates and provide sharper textures. OnePlus clearly beats the s24+ and is better than the s24 ultra too.

is the non ultra s24 at 7:12 in space grey? it looks like the titanium color of the ultra or is it just my eyes?
I have the s24, think i'll switch upto the plus! Saw Rhos on sea, just down the road, subscribed
Yeah i never use the S pen nor did I use the 100x zoom feature on my S22 ultra so when I upgraded I decided to go for the S24+ and I regret nothing cause I love this phone.
The A55 would be the best all rounder, but the 5mp macro-camera is useless, if only it had (even an 8 MP) telephoto of average performance (from the A72), it would be a top-seller.
Am I correct that the Google 9 will also have the Armour glass screen?
Last years phones are a great price and are very premium and flagship. S23 ultra was in the £700 range when i last checked, i paid £1250 for my s23 ultra. Anyways get the phone you want and i do think it's worth paying more for something you want. Whatever phone you pick i think you'll be happy for the price you pay.
The Note 10 6.3" was the best Samsung phone for me in terms of size, weight and screen aspect ratio. I love curved screens and it had a very decent camera set.
Tried the plus today - the Ultras are too big and heavy for me - but I don't like the hand feel with the flat edges. I really dig one ui though, Dex and Wallet and Pass. However I'm going to see if I can port one ui to another brand of phone because the (not so) new Samsung design doesn't appeal to me... And that's fine - it's made for the masses.
The real problem is that Samsung doesn't have a smaller version of A55. If you are into smaller phones and you want Samsung, then S24 is the only choice, but it's just too expensive for many...
Agree with this wholeheartedly. At least, if you want a newer model, otherwise - I think the S23 from last year is still absolutely worth getting. It's still a very strong phone.
True, I really like the S24 size, but I walked away when I saw the price.
They should have a budget phone with pen too.
After a thorough comparison of both devices, I have come to the conclusion that the S24 Plus aligns more closely with my preferences and requirements. While it may not be considered inexpensive, it offers significant cost savings compared to the Ultra model. Furthermore, I appreciate the return to a lightweight design with a suitable screen size.
I went with the 24U and it's a great phone. But the screen is weird. Constantly covered in smudges and fingerprints. I was always having to clean it. Nothing I had experienced before, so I assume it has something to do with the special, non-reflective coating? So, I put a screen protector on it. Also something I never do. This took care of the smudging issue but now the fingerprint reader barely works, even after turning on touch sensitivity and re-learning the fingerprints with the protector on.
I've got the plus and the ultra. I prefer the plus more over the ultra as it's more comfy to hold in the hand. I don't used the spen that often and then camera on the plus is still awesome like the ultra.
The ultra I just use it to watch videos and play games on it.
Why do you have 2?

Just to add another option to the mix of phones that offer (near) premium specs at a more affordable price, I just got a Nubia RedMagic 9 Pro (USA). [It replaces my 5-yr-old RedMagic 3, which still works perfectly, but will not run updated financial apps requiring OS 10 or above - mine has OS 9. New one is Android14]
So, first the caveats/CONS: It has no IP rating (not water or dust proof), owing to the cooling fan --it is a GAMING phone. I am not a gamer, but I bought this for the specs that a gaming phone requires.
Cameras; Selfie (under display) is rather poor by today's standards, but I don't really do selfies. Main camera is pretty good, but not on a par with the best available. I really like the photos, but if you want the best, this will not be for you.
The PROS (Snowfall model, USA): 16GB RAM, 512 storage . Dual SIM card slot.120 Hz refresh. Cooling fan (for gamers), dedicate gaming mode with ridiculous settings options.
6500MAh battery, 80W charging (charging brick and cable included in package, as well as a basic case). Very near stock Android (few company OS mods).
DTS speakers (2 facing), plus 2 more (one at each end), 3.5mm earphone jack!!, iR blaster, z-smart cast (to a smart TV), NFC.
So, How much? $799 (US) on redmagic's site. I bought mine from Walmart at $775 (with free shipping-- got it in 3 days). [Amazon wanted $849 after discount.]
Also available (List $649) with 12GB RAM/ 256 storage (Sleet model, USA).
I've had it for four days now and LOVE IT! It is big, it is bright, and it is FAST!
[I am in no way being compensated for this review. I just want to let everyone know about an alternative to the big guys' offerings.]
You said what I really wanted to buy. only S24 + make sense than any S series '+' versions from S20.
I dont get why Samsung didn't upgraade at least the sensor sizes of the cameras especially the telephoto which is awful in lowlight
The spen has more uses than note taking. I find it useful for my needs...
I'm using the S24+ now!! Yesss I absolutely love it. It's truly incredible. Form factor is definitely refreshing being used to other androids and curves for so long! 👏👏👏
Love my s24 plus it's really underrated phone. It's basically an ultra just missing a few features. You can't go wrong with any of the Samsung s series this year. All are good phones and depending on your needs and budget all are very good phones so you don't feel a huge drop off from the ultra.
im still rocking my S21FE. But the latest 6.1 update really brought it down to a crawl.... Dont know what im gonna upgrade to yet. Maybe a Moto Edge Plus 2023?
In fact, the right phone to buy is the S24, not the S24 Ultra or the S24 Plus. I'm rocking my S24 in one hand while I don't know what to do with the S24 Ultra. It's been laying down
Agreed. Thought about the plus just because of the promotions but then realized I felt more forced to upgrade because of that. S24 is the right size for one hand usability and it's light weight. I forget it's in my pocket. That's how it should be.
Battery is good enough but because it's smaller, it charges QUICK.
The right phone to buy is the one that suits your needs, and that's different for everyone
I have s24 ultra and the S9 ultra , and so far I've never used the S pen
What a terrible advice, S23 Ultra is same price as s24 plus, and it miles better
Sooooooooooooooo agree❤❤❤
S23 ultra is actually cheaper
And a LOT bigger
You can get a like new s23 for 400. I know because I'm about to trade my Razr plus for one or trade towards a red magic pro 8
OnePlus 12 for me. Had an S24U, went to a OP12.
Why did you switch?
I'm sorry for your loss. I've had OnePlus, it's nothing compared to the Galaxy S series lmao.
@hyattonwyattboys only thing Samsung has is the ecosystem. OnePlus 12 is several hundred dollars less with faster charging, better overall screen brightness, ability to use in rain and have screen actually register the touch. I've enjoyed both brands, ecosystem is the only standout difference.
@@carlbrenda6518 indeed, just get a phone that fits your needs, ive seen people spending a thousand on iphone 15pm & ss 24 ultra yet they only use it to scroll social medias and take pictures...
Both the S23+ and S24+ are over $1K here. We have the regular S23 and the S23 fe and by using either one of them I find no difference in performance, but I can see the S23 fe better, as it has a larger screen, while the regular S23 is more pocketable and lighter. Whichever you fancy, but ppl on the budget should aim at the regular S24 IMO, better yet, Get the S23fe for less than 500- bucks. if you are on a budget, especially if you can get the NA version with the SD 8 chip.
Why do people confuse the S pen with the tab's or iPad's pencil as the same? Are they? SAME or SIMILAR functionality? Coz there's a difference I reckon.
They are similar only diff is tht an s pen or an apple pencil would be more usefull on a tablet formfactor
Or just avoid Samsung altogether and buy the best phone of the year - the Oneplus 12.
Wallpaper?
I'd rather just get the S24, small but mighty.
Personally I enjoy the cameras on the S24+. I came from budget phones for the past 5 or so years.
Does TM Roh use the S24+ because it uses his own chip?
Typing from my s21+. Love it. Got it recently. Cheap as hell 150 euro. Originally 1000 lol
I have an S24+ and it's honestly a solid phone.
It's basically a S24 Ultra without the stylus.
For everyone saying "StIlL 1000 DoLlaRs tHo" - life must be hard when forcing yourself to straight out buy a phone. Most of us will get a phone on contract, and getting the + over the Ultra means a lower more manageable monthly cost
I got the s24 plus 512gb for 800 usd including tax ( Including wireless charger, fe buds, vegan case).
Probably best deal out there.
The Ultra/Note series doesn't have alternatives/competition. You should say what would you get instead of S24+ which has competition.
Watching on my S24+ and have been through many Samsung phones since my Note 10+. That phone was great especially the expandable storage.
sadly, snapdragon edition just available for the ultra version for some region 😢
The thing is Samsung gives great trade in incentives. Most people wouldn’t mind paying an extra 150 bucks.
4:54 what game is that???
The Samsung Galaxy s24 plus is a fine device. However, it still costs $1,000. My favorite device of the year is the OnePlus 12. Frankly, it has far better specifications than the s24 plus and it's a much better value. Best of all, it's not a flat slab that utilizes a non ergonomic flat screen. Curved glass is far more ergonomic and has a much more premium look.
What about continuing updates for 4+ years???
@@tconnolly9820 The OnePlus 12 will receive 4 years of OS updates with 5 years of security patches. That's more than enough for any flagship device. Frankly, the 7 years of updates that Google and Samsung offer are nothing more than a marketing gimmick. Very few people are going to keep the same device for 7 years. LOL

"it's ok" then says his daily driver is a 15 pro max lol gtfo out of here, even the s24+ can put the 15 pro max to shame and that is an objective fact.
The CEO can get the a s24 ultra for every person in his family without spending a single cent... So what if he uses the s24+??
the only reason i got the s24 ultra is that base s24 and s24 plus has exynos processor
I tried an A34, with ' just as good/close to' A54, but for me it wasn't an S series ( or any flagship) alternative, particularly the camera. Bought a used P6 for less, and is a way better alternative, buying a used Pixel 6, which is cheap in 2024.
I love my 23U
Prefer 6.3 - 6.5 inch phone for pocket ability and lower weight
If only samsung put more mind in s24plus, put better cooling, faster charging, give it better camera. Make it a compact ultra ,it would have been a bestseller
Standard s24 is the best choice. Small phone, dex, snapdragon 8gen3 and ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

For world release this is not an option.. one word Exynos.. its basically buying the previous year model but with stutter.. at that price point better but the old model or cough the rest of the money for the ultra or go to a A50 series if you want to save money.. if not Samsung then maybe Pixel, Motorola makes neat phones and nice UI too
I heard "aSSS" pen.........
Samsung : "Oh no, my androids have become self aware."
Interesting video, but I chose the S23FE and I'll tell you WHY! First is the price I got mine factory UNLOCKED for $509 for 256Gb last November. The cameras are PLENTY for me as I do NOT take "professional" photos or videos so I have NO need for an "ULTRA" model. Next, the S-Pen having had NOTE series phones for a long time I never really used the Pen and really does not "enhance" my daily experience at all. The S23FE runs ONE UI 6.1 with 90+% of the features offered on the "ULTRA" model that even then I use ONCE in a blue moon so, why PAY for all these features that I'll never use?? OK the S23FE has the Snapdragon GEN 1 which is NOT really a game changer as far as battery life goes vs. the Snapdragon Gen 3. So apps load milliseconds slower than the "ULTRA" that matters how much in day to day usage? The S23FE can handle about ANYTHING you throw at it except video editing which I NEVER do in the first place so, WHY pay $1300+ for something I'll NEVER use? It ALL comes down to WHAT you use your phone for and MOST people will own a phone for less than TWO years before upgrading and that is a HUGE money hit at $1300+.
The other JOKE is updates for 7years as ANYONE serious about a phone will NEVER have a phone for that long in the first place! Even the S23FE!
If you are a professional that does picture and video editing for a living than YES an ULTRA is right for you but the majority needs NONE of these features or the horsepower to do it! Everything the S-pen offers can be done without with a little extra when needed and little effort.
How many gb ram is the s23 fe?
The 256Gb model comes with 8Gb of ram which is plenty!
The turn off for me is the Battery life, battery on S23 FE doesn’t last.
And to me is very important the battery life.
@@pedroduran8927 : I get that! I use an app called Hibernator which actually turns off apps and prevents background usage. I have also gone through and CHANGED the location access to MANY apps that do NOT need to be running all the time in the background and the "precise" location option being turned OFF as well. These changes have DRASTICALLY improved the batter life on my S23FE and will work on ANY phone!
I'd buy the S24+ if it had the Qualcomm chip in the UK, simple as that.
Yeah the exynos 2400 puts me off I’ll just get the ultra with the snapdragon

Horizon Chase - Arcade Racing. Great little racer inspired by old school racers like Outrun: Coast 2 Coast.
Watching from my s24u...yes Im not like most who uses the spen...the matt display is gone when I applied my tempered glass...went with the ultra again (since s20u til now) purely bcos s24 and s24+ in my country is using exynos so for the snapdragon 8 gen 3 I went the ultra route
Exynos 2400 is fine. That should not have been a deciding factor.
Legit story. Helps to justify the price difference.
@@AsifZed69I had tested them both in stores switched apps and games and the exynos got considerably hotter and felt laggy.
Yeah sorry to burst your bubble but the Snapdragon is far more powerful than exynos. You can tell mostly in battery life do not lie to your viewers
s24 and s24+ is using exynos, for intl ver, only US gets the SD 8 gen 3, very downside as exynos does not pickup the 5g in the US
I probably get a Poco X6 pro instead. It's more in the price range for me.
That's why Ive been buying upper mid-range phones, instead of flagship phones. Easier on my wallet, for similar performances
What were the racing games you played?
Oh, Horizon Chase (I think it's called) - it's in Play Pass - basically a modern, mobile take on the old arcade racing games. It's good fun, doesn't require a lot of skill 😅
Anything bigger than a 13 mini is annoying to use in my case
"The S24 ultra is too expensive....buy the S24+" 🙄 1000 dollars the "affordable" phone for Pocket-lint !! 🤨
See,i don't get it. The plus haves barely anything over the regular for 200$ more. Just get the s24 and save even more moneys and trust me,the size is perfect. I used to be a big phone guy but got the regular s23 bc the ultra was too big of a ginancial stretch and the plus was just not worth 200$ extra and... i was both wtong and right: the plus would've been a waste of moneys and big phones actualy suck.
A thousand dollars? That is more than a third of my monthly income before health care. I don't think so.

Even For Me I Rather Get The S23+ than the s23 ultra Or I rather get The S24 Or S24+ Than The S24 Ultra
S24 and S24 Plus has exynos chipset outside the US.
Its freakin expensive tough: Exynos has shitty modems, consume 30% more power, and the connections flickering more often. The cpu also draw more power wich means: overheating issues, and rapid battery drain.
Definetly NOT worth it!
If i would buy an S24, I'll choose a simple 24 with snapdragon.
I bought the ultra, because my phone must survive one day, with one charge.
Exynos can not do that with my usage. SD does.
And may I say that I'm totally impressed with the quality of. SAMSUNG PRODUCTS. And, never touch an iPhone. Ever
After Samsung removed the cruved glass in the ultra, there's no reason to buy it, im my opinion
what exactly do you really need that curve for? it only brakes screen sooner.
I’m not a gamer. No interest. I bought a guaranteed refurbished Vivo27 8 GB 256 GB for £60 and an Oppo 5G network same storage and memory for £65. No point in paying a grand when AI arrives in a year.
I could've gotten the ultra but still choose the plus bcuz the ultra is too big and boxy and the plus is the sweet spot ass far ass screen size
the phone I'd buy instead of 24 ultra: 23 ultra
I think S23 FE is better.
Nahhh
IDK why anyone would buy an S24+ over a OnePlus 12. Its more expensive and worse in every category
I've used both extensively. The camera on S24+ is definitely better. AND includes a 4K Portrait video mode which imo makes it a more dynamic shooter than the Pixel 8 Pro I used a lot as well. And the form factor, again my opinion, is just overall nicer. Samsungs AMOLED also a step ahead. So no, OP12 is not better everywhere. Actually now I'm wondering what I DID find better on the OP, design of the back (I had the green variant) is the only one I'd say.
Samsung has more software support and a ecosystem and features like Samsung dex
You get significantly better software support, integration, and features from Samsung. OnePlus is an enthusiast brand that often comes with a lot of sacrifice. Having been burned on the awful US experience it's the OnePlus 6T not getting updates and burying the battery deep sleep settings in a menu that was removed from T-mobile locked 6T so it couldn't be disabled, I'd never recommend a OnePlus devices to anyone.
Nope go with the one plus 12 trust me it’s a better phone
They are going to charge you for the the use of AI.....
