- Samsung DEX stands for Desktop EXperience. So I took it literally for 21 days to see what would happen.

Guys, my wife just told me to tell the audience to stop liking and commenting on this video. It's almost at 1k and she's concerned.
It’s too late now 😂😂
Fatality for her
Just pack the samsung for her meanwhile we reach the 2k likes left to 12k
Too late haha
Nah
Also, the fact that Samsung kept adding to Dex, stayed committed to it is what makes Dex good. Enough support. And more than a standalone feature, it's useful for those situations, when you just have your phone... real life-saver
Im still waiting for Samsung make a dedicated OS for dex that support mouse and keyboard in all of the apps including games
@@Meteor-ThunderBears Yeah, I managed to get the keyboard and mouse work on Geo-Force once and couldn't do it again 😂
@@jordanjackson8873 try resetting the cache
yup. i want them to know its very useful, and i hope they won't stop developing it.
@@Meteor-ThunderBears Samsung locking their bootloaders is pretty much the opposite of what the android (and vicariously Linux community) is about are they miles more open than apple? no doubt, but the ability to flash something like ubuntu touch basically isn't possible as of today, of course that could change.
The problem with Dex is most of the people who reviewed it are those tech guy who do video editing or graphic design. In real life, the number of people who do video editing/graphic design in real life is just a very tiny portion of it and people are complaining about it. Even I am tech nerdy but I didn't edit video very often, so Dex is more than capable to use for daily life like web browsing and document with office suite.
Well said.
This is the issue with TH-cam reviewers in general (more laptop reviewers than phone reviewers though). They don't seem to realise that 99% of people & professionals have never edited a video in their lives, so endlessly reporting video editing benchmarks is pretty pointless.
I'm a gamer and it's been 1 year since I abandoned my Desktop to use DEX exclusively, I created a gameplay channel, I made my recordings and simple edits and I had no problems. Yes, it lacks some abilities and is not omnipotent. I worked solely with Dex on my Galaxy S22 Ultra for a month and a half after losing my computer six months ago. I work as a Head of Product at an early stage startup, almost all my tasks are in web apps and I ran all of them most without problems. My most-used apps include Figma for collaboration with the Design team, Notion and Confluence for project management, Boardmix for brainstorming (similar to Miro), AItable for database work (like Airtable), and Google Workspace for various office tasks.
I made it through the 40 days. Maybe I reduced my phone's battery life a little, hahaha, but I did it well.
Since that, I often run some tasks with my phone when I can't carry my laptop.
And as stated, that's more a software problem than an hardware problem, if they implement the right software there would not be any problem, this is where we miss a Windows phone capable of running desktop softwares on an mobile platform
The fact that you didn't do 24 days for parity sake is blasphemous 😤
HEHEHE
But he’s in pain for too long
What a pleasure to be a part of this. Video is a banger
I need to put more likes just for this Apple HQ vs Samsung HQ part xD
I'm probably not far off from what actually happened 😅
@@thesamuelnamthat scene was hilarious man
Estoy muy seguro que asi paso, no tengo pruebas y tampoco dudas 😆
That was actually really good comedy :D you should think about doing skits like this as a career haha
Apple being apple... Samsung being Samsung. I hate apple. Don't we all?
Not only this is so informative, the video is really entertaining as well. Love the blooper at the end. Keep this up. Hope to see more of your work.
Your videos are so good man. Please never stop. Its not just your editing or anything, it's honestly your personality, humor, and specific tech subjects. Dex has definitely came in clutch for me a few times. Hopefully samsung never gets rid of it.
samsung dix.
GIVE THIS GUY A RAISE!
💀
We had a friend from New Zealand visit us here in the Philippines, and at one situation, he was asking for a "pin". So we scrambled to find him a pin, and then find out he was asking for a pen.
Samsung Dikso

your channel is so underrated. you are a hidden TH-cam gem. you have everything everybody wants: Cute family time shots, real world reviews, cute fat babies. I really want to see you blow up. I mean get very popular and financially successful not like a balloon or something.
Agreed 💯%. The balloon thing would still be pretty dope though.

Perfect juxtaposition of humor, consideration, and insight into an intriguing possibility for mobile workflows. Instant sub here, looking forward to seeing how the experiment goes with your wife!
This was awesome ! You're the freshest Tech TH-camr RN ! Such a blast to watch your videos ! Awesome work ! Thanks a lot
This is like the best tech video I've ever seen for a long while. Informative, concise, amusing. Thanks so much :)
how the hell do you only have 49k subs??! Loved the video and your style. Keep it up!!
I had 800 subs this time last year. Thanks man, so fun.
@@thesamuelnam Man, you should have more man
Just found your channel a few days ago. Keep up the great work!
Love your content!!!
All you need is time and you will be the next big TH-cam Channel.
Keep it up.
this was the first video i've seen from you and it was very entertaining! I have never used dex, i'm not one that has a need to be working on the go, but it's insane how far it's come and how powerful it is now. I am shocked you were able to do your editing while your kid was playing games.
That skit was gold😂, every video I've seen from this channel has been amazing, time to subscribe😎
Bro I really like your vids. Even if I don’t watch it for the tech, I watch it for your jokes and authenticity
I love your style of video and sense of humor, you deserve more recognition! Keep it up man
I love this guy. Something fresh about how he does his reviews with a humorous twist in and the everyday things that he does with the stuff he reviews is just brilliant. There’s a like and a subscribe to you my good sir, I love your work.
Dude, you have a great vibe and family. I love it. You made me think about the power of dex again.
Full marks.
I love this guy so much haha. Watching on my s24u. Been a fan when u started reviewing the pixel phone.
I love your final discovery - you can use the phone for all the things just like normal whilst *also* using Dex wirelessly. That is really mknd blowing. All we need is some greater desktop-like software options. And support for two monitors.
I'm experimenting with DeX these days as well; I don't need some of the heavier apps you require. I'm very optimistic! Thank you for sharing your experience.
Comment just for your wife to use Galaxy S24 😂
Get her a Galaxy tab, too.
In on it as well! 😂
Commenting here and my own as well to get the numbers up lol
Exactly
She will finally make her ancestors proud
omg i loved your parody and the use of othert language with subtitles. You deserve the monetization for your (or your team) creativity
The best part was the impersonation (Apple HQ vs Samsung HQ). Good stuff @Samuel! Don't loose that sense of humor my man.
This is strangely beautiful. I was looking for a video on Dex as I'm considering shifting to android. Not only do you live in sydney like I do, but you also daily a 13 mini and use a heavy duty laptop (rog g14 for me). I think I finally found MY tech guy. Looking forward to more videos bud!
Welcome! Glad you found this family.
switched to s23 from iphone 14 its a whole new world outside the walled garden its amazing
wow... I just discovered you and this video. Love the content. Very informative even tho i don't really use "DEX" But however, I now have the knowledge and may use in the future because of your video. Thank you and you will be subscribed
You are a legend man! Please post more of this stuff!
Dude, I’m studying Korean right now and that skit had me on the floor. I showed it to my group, and subbed. 😂
DeX totally works for me. I use it regularly since 2019. In fact for almost 1,5 year DeX was my sole computer (my notebook broke, and I didn't buy one until this time passed). I use it for personal and (normal office) work.
The convergence os great, you notice it? All your files always with you, without need of even a cloud. It's there.
Nowadays I'm using Motorola's Ready For (it's very similar). Maybe even better.
Fantastic video man, really good to see some actual use cases rather than just contrived examples
So I watched your video on the Xreal glasses. Most of it was stuff I have seen several times.
Than I decided to look up information about Dex.
Again stuff I have written down over the last year. Not much new.
What got me was the last few seconds of your video as well as several moments in your last video.
Your family. The relationship you have with them. Especially your wife. The humor you two pull off together is refreshing.
So with that said I'm going to do something I RARELY do with tech channels.
I'm subscribing.
Keep up the good work bro. 😎
I use DeX every week. As a teacher, I use it to connect my Samsung tablet wirelessly to a Microsoft hdmi adapter that projects the tablet screen to the digital whiteboard. I present. and run software via DeX and can use the tablet simultaneously to do grading, research on the web (or secretly answer a WhatsApp text). It's working flawlessly so far, but with some quirks. For instance, to redirect the audio output of the tablet to the external display, I need to go to DeX and change the audio destination there, which I couldn't do in normal tablet mode. But once rerouted, the audio is done correctly even if I switch out of DeX mode again. I must make sure to bring a mouse as well as DeX with gestures is a challenge.
I've been using a Galaxy Tab S7 Plus as my daily driver/workhorse since my aging MacBook has a quirk I need to get fixed. It's handled everything I've thrown at it superbly👌🏻 -- the display, speakers, and Webcam are far superior, TOUCHSCREEN (ofc) + Samsung keyboard case + S-pen kick butt, and multi-tasking and battery life are better.
DeX is indeed great, but yes, it has a few occasionally annoying quirks. E.g., no option for portrait mode (that I'm aware of), it "trims" my banking app prior to the true bottom of the displayed info, the tablet won't run Diagnostics in DeX, and it would be nice if DeX could retain the drop-down shade for quick access to settings & notifications (yeah, I'm demanding, I know 😅).
Just found you today, love this video. You should be at 1 million subs.
You can't leave us hanging like this. We need 3 or 4 uploads per month 😁 your content is fire.
The Korean accent was insane 😂😂
Great video!! Keep up the good work!
I love this guy! Another great video!! I miss dex so much for me it's perfect can't wait to get it back!
I love the humor in the video it’s welcoming ❤great content I definitely subscribed after the video
I have a Samsung tablet, one that's lower end and can't do DEX mode. But, I've enabled most of those features in developer mode. This does not allow for an external display, but it works well enough for multi-windows. I do unix sysadmin work and this is good for 95% of the stuff I need to do. My tablet paired with a bluetooth keyboard and I'm golden.
loved the blooper at the end,
Forget those pro reviewers thats almost reading a script, im totally just gonna watch yours. Definately a breathe of fresh air, how its very entertaining and more laid back to watch and listen to honestly. Subscribed.
Yo, Samuel. This is the first video I watched from your channel. Very funny, but still informative. I immmediately subscribed.
i love DEX! i use it all the time as the TV in my room isnt smart, just connect the phone and the thing becomes a full on desktop experience.
Hi Samuel! Thank you for all the great videos! Really great to see no nonsense and real use cases. Not related to the video, but I was wondering what software/workflow your wife is using on her iPad?
She was using pro create. Thanks for the support
Hey this is the first video I’ve seen of you and I really enjoyed it new sub and like keep up the work!
Just trying to help you hit the 1,000. Good video, interesting and fun. Bravo
1K likes and I’ll sell my MacBook Pro, iPhone 14 Pro, iPad Air 4, AirPods, and Apple Watch and go full Samsung/Dex
Just buy the S24 Ultra
Your wife went “oohuurgh” when you flung that MacBook Pro. 🤣
LMAO 😂
Louder than when in the bed lol
I've ever seen the best and the most sincere video. Thank you Samuel.
Found this channel by chance as I've been looking at keyboard vids recently and think I've found my new favourite TH-camr. Great vids bro
Here for the wife to abandon Apple
I daily drive an iPhone and a Pixel because of the software experience but honestly, I’m really impressed with DeX. It could be a game-changer if Android adopts it natively. Big respect from Japan to Samsung for leading the way!
I think Samsung is South Korean
@@ht_ghaurithe commenter is in. Japan
He is japanese saying his respects to Samsung from japan (i think)
I wish Google did, or at least, Apple actually introduces a "Mac desk" or whatever so Google will take it seriously. I can see this as a replacement for my work laptop and I am currently off galavanting somewhere right now and using my S8 tab+ to do work on the go . I don't deal with heavy graphics and such so it's ok. I also use Kiwi Browser for google extensions (I need some for work like the okta rockstar app) and I can work pretty well with it. Really awesome what Samsung has done. My only problem is I need to buy a new phone but I do not want to spend money on Samsung pricing at all but they made me want to stay in their stupid ecosystem. Geez, it's either Apple or Samsung with their bloody traps
@@sonofage If apple did that, Yeah sure the experience and workflow would be great but it won't be free 😌
Awesome video; many congratulations!
You just earned me as a subscriber 🤗 Banger Vid.... looking forward to future videos

"Wuh!"
You got a like for Beluga pic 😂
We need her to use the S24
Great content man! This is the stuff I love to see and pay TH-cam for 👌
I'm so much inlove with how you make your videos and review tech products. Much love from Nigeria
Let's see how your wife likes the s24 Ultra
Samsoong Dix 🤣🤣🤣
Bro you have made me cry out of laugh in first 3 minutes, like and sub immediately. Just keep up doing it the way you do.
Hi Samuel,
I like the way you present your video.
Funny, informative,
Keep this up.
Thanks
Truly enjoyed your video.
Super love your videos man! Keep it up! Road to 100K!
Mate, I hit subscribe 1 minute in. Your content is hilarious. Love the outakes :)
AWESOME video! I haven't messed around with DEX nearly enough. You have a new subscriber.
Very great video, I have the Z Fold 5 and was not aware that you can use the phone and Dex at the same time but that is very good to know. Been looking into possibly getting the Viture AR glasses to use it for Dex so I'm not hauling around a monitor.
First day with my S24 Ultra and I stumble across this video in my TH-cam feed. Hilarious Dex review. Makes me wanna use it for Adobe Light room since it's free on Mobile!!
AWESOME video, Samuel ! 👏🏻 I just "discovered" your channel, and this content earned you an instant Sub ! 😊
I ❤ using the built-in DeX on my Tab S7 Plus, and you're giving me fresh ideas for how to leverage wireless DeX on my S22 Ultra ! 💡 🙌🏻
Good video on feature I should use more. I especially appreciate the reenactments, characters and bits
Cool video. It is nice to see how far Samsung has come because of the experimentation and their use of snapdragon. The 8 gen 3 has been a nice step up.
Really appreciate your dedication
This guy is crazy good, i just watched you for the first time and as a tech/vlog/gamer guy point of view, you sir made my day, like literally i want to order what you are having, teach me sensei! Please hire me 😂 much love here from the Philippines ❤️
I’ve seen so many youtubers but you are the one whom i subscrbed by watching just a single video
Your video makes me feel happy….
Hey man, came across your video searching for DEX capabilities on the S24U. Love the straightforward style and your on-cam personality. Also resonated hard as a current/previous owner of a P8P (daily), iPhone 13 Mini (rip), iPhone SE3 (backup), and S23U (rip). Will be following your stuff, thanks!
I hadn't realized that two people can essentially use the phone at the same time with the car example you gave at the end. That's super cool.
this video was so nice to watch. Subscribed.
As a UX designer I do use Figma sometimes on DEX too, its great jus have some issues with fonts, great video!!!!
Great video. Super entertaining and informative
man you are really awesome, i laughed out of my ass when you said its nice in korean, you got a new sub
This video alone got you a subscription. Great video!
When my laptop was broken I literally did the same thing with the lgv50 back then, I literally connected it to a hub then plugged it to a monitor and peripherals. I managed to make my work reports and presentations as well as take and edit videos for tainee assessments to be sent to the main office...
but thats everyday work, Im amazed that you can actually make your client vids on it.
Im mooving to Galaxy just because of this feature, for me is major game changer is that no I only needs my phone. Hope soon all the companies compete on this field, is just amazing.
The hangover - new generation. 😂. Your videos are great, bro
This is an incredible video the sketches were actually funny too 😂
I discovered the Samsung tablets do DeX without the need for a monitor and I love it. Just plug a keyboard and mouse in or Bluetooth both and there you have it.
Great to see this channel getting the attention it deserves!
Thanks!! I tried early versions of Dex, but not recently
Love the video... very genuine... and funny...lol... got a follower here
The last few seconds best part of the video. Pure gold.
I work in IT, and I often need to move from place to place. There are times when I move without my laptop because I don't expect to need it. But it has happened a few times where I did need it. But since I didn't have my laptop, Dex came in handy and I was able to do more work because of it.
What a great video! Very interesting experience.
The Mac throw is hilarious, quite a risk there 😂😂😂 but good video review in total
Great review, im the type of person that have a fully capable gaming pc at home and does not have a laptop since i finish my degree about 8 years ago. With the correct setup, i'm able to see my self using dex as laptop replacement for working without needed to splurge money on a laptop
This is really cool. DEX has come a far way since it's beginning. If this was implemented on Android I could try to see if I could replace my laptop too. Like you said, maybe not everybody would convert but I do have a dedicated gaming PC and only need my laptop for being on the go, and doing browsing and creative work away from desk. For most, this phone could probably be enough to replace a PC completely. For some, they would run two devices - but all we need is more awareness and support for the feature from the industry wide. Could even be a good enterprise option, cheaper than giving out employees a laptop and a phone. Just get em a phone, have DEX supported setups on shared spaces, and the option for that DEX laptop kit if needed.
I use a pretty similar option on my Huawei and it saved me thousand times. I have a two hand-sized wireless keyboard and a flat mouse so I can put a whole setup in a small bag. Really useful when you are in another city for a week and have to carry your excel routine everywhere. Also helps to translate TH-cam on tv and lie around with a laptop in another corner. The only sad thing is that it doesn't work properly with my gaomon s620 tablet so I can't draw in a PC mode
