▶️ Check out the blog post for a complete list of everything we bought: bit.ly/KrocksDollarHaul ▶️ We have a few more videos planned for this “Plant-Based On A Budget” series, so let us know what you want to see in the comments!
Thanks so much for the inspiration. We went to dollar tree today and were amazed at all the fruits and veggies. Also great selection of craft supplies and I got some tea tree oil vath salt and lotion. You guys are great! What I like is that you are so real! Thank you for sharing so much about yourselves.
Forever Knight was the absolute best vampire based series! Criminally underrated. The dvd series was only released in limited run when the fans petitioned it, had to spend a ton for the complete set.
Great idea for series...we also have a store called 99 cent stores and they have organic veggies fresh and frozen when lucky enough to find them! Look forward to the week of $1 store eats.
LOVE those spring Rolls! When we find them, we will buy 5 packages! Usually have them like once a month. Only air fry 5, 2 for my hubby and 3 for me! I like to dip mine into Trader Joe's sweet chili sauce. YUM!
Looks like my dollar tree hauls! Love the freeze dried peaches. Hard to find. But soo tasty. Thank you for sharing. I am looking forward to seeing what you do with it all.
Wow! I pretty much ignore my Dollar Tree freezer section. When I go back I'll definitely be looking. I can't wait for your taste testing and other Plant-Based On A Budget videos.
This is awesome! So many people r struggling financially during this pandemic & this will help. I’m curious to see what Brian will come up with to put on those rice cakes! I used to eat them years ago, but totally forgot abt them until now. I want to put a THIN layer of mashed avocado on mine, when I buy them, which will b soon. Not the best choice of topping probably, but it’s the first thing I thought abt when u showed them. Lol. Also, a word of caution... my grocery cart full of plant based food was swiped behind my back when I was at Walmart 2 days ago & the clerks searched the whole store & never found it... so u kno what I’m going to say... don’t leave Peef unattended! Lol.
I'd love to see a comparison of cost per pound of some of these things. I find that Dollar Tree is often more expensive if you evaluate the true cost per ounce or per pound.
I keep frozen bags of fruit in the freezer for oatmeal. I cube up 1/2 a banana and add a couple scoops of frozen mixed berries from the bag and cook it all with some water in the microwave for about a minute & a half ... then stir and cook another minute and a half. top with crushed mixed nuts. So delicious & healthy.
I have several ceramic dishes from DT and they are some of my favorite dishes that I use all the time. One is a big soup mug/bowl with a handle that I use not all kinds of food not just soup.
I never would have thought of dollar tree as a place for all these great finds! I usually go there for Denta Sticks for my dog and paper and cleaning products. Thanks so much for showing me what gems I might find in the food department. I can't wait to see what dishes you guys come up with. I know it'll be inspiring. Now, off to my local Dollar Tree to see what I can find! :-)
I love the salt free seasining and keep it stocked in the house. Thank you so much for this video. I like the Dollar Tree for other items. Good to add WFPB itema to that list.😊
One of my favorite places to shop. I've also at times gotten yellow split peas, dried garbanzo beans, and roasted red peppers in a jar. Love your haul! Love your videos!
I live in a smaller city, no Whole Foods or Trader Joe's. I always start at Aldi, and fill in from other grocery stores. We do have 2 Dollar Trees, as well as an independent dollar store, a small Mennonite run store, a Big Lots, and a small farmer's market in the summer. I have found amazing finds in unexpected places, as well as clearance bins in the bigger grocery stores. I never stop looking for deals! I'm not completely whole foods plant based, but I lean hard in that direction. I find your channel very inspiring and smart. Keep at it, and thanks for your consistent hard work!!
I've gone to the Dollar Tree many times but never even looked at the frozen foods until I saw your video. I got the bowls too (I actually did need them). I've now gained a renewed appreciation for the store. Thanks for the motivation and helping me in my "adventure" too. : )
Other than concerns around the quality of the food I've found at dollar stores, the other thing I've noticed is the package sizes are smaller. So for example, it's a smaller package for $1 but at a normal supermarket, you can find a bigger/normal size package for $1.25 or something, which ends up being cheaper. Or at least in Canada, the food options are super sketchy looking (improperly sealed packages is the main issue I saw) or smaller sized packages. And also, things at our dollar stores are very rarely actually only a dollar... So I've never actually bought any food at a dollar store other than a chocolate bar or something
@Peter Rabbit haha ya, the candy wasn’t recent for sure... but also I’ll take a well-sealed chocolate of a known brand over a possibly expired bag of beans with holes in it any day...
Lots of great stuff, looking forward to more videos like this 😊 Wow, Forever Knight! I bought my husband these years and years ago on dvd for a lot more than a dollar! Excellent haul!
Amazing videos! Can you do a zero waste whole food lifestyle! Like shopping only produce sections and bulk section shopping with reusable containers! You can find beans, rice, oats, nuts, fruits, veggie. Show you never need to buy something in single use plastic. Thanks for everything! - Gareth your huge fan!
Wow, what a nice haul at your Dollar Tree store. I will have to check ours out if we have all those options. Great price too. Looking forward to your upcoming videos on budget series and also how you liked these foods compared to food from other locations!. Thanks so much for all the hard work.
I love your budget friendly theme! Couple things to keep in mind: Non-organic oats are soaked in Roundup pesticide usually. I try to stick to organic only for that reason. Also, I try to limit foods that are sourced from China. Not the best regulations and food safety with food coming from there. I was surprised the last time I did a Dollar Tree haul to find many of their items are from the USA. Not all of them, but many. Thanks for the great video!
Thank you for doing this I live in a small town, but we do have a Dollar Tree and am just starting "Vegan" And I hope that ours has a lot of these! I can't wait to see more like these I can't believe you found the DVD Forever Night I loved this Again, our store never has this good! :'( I would love to find that DVD These are cute bowls too
I am so happy that you are doing videos of eating healthy on a budget because some people say eating healthy is too expensive and I think it really doesn't have to be.
The Dollar Tree that you went to must be a super sized. The stores near me are much smaller and have fewer items and many of the larger Dollar Tree stores do not carry any refrigerated/frozen foods. You are lucky to have that resource available.
This was fun. I look forward to seeing what you think about the quality compared to your non-Dollar Tree items and how the prices on some of the stuff compares. That reminds me. Did you ever chop those no-cry onions from your other haul? The suspense!! Finally, I’ve also done that thing where I buy rice cakes and tell myself I’ll eat them when I want something crunchy. Each time I rediscover how inedible and dissatisfying they are.
This was really fun! I was stunned too when I went to my local Dollar Tree and found so much of the things yoi featured. I must say some of the frozen veg was bit disappointing, I think I literally threw out a whole bag of something when I opened it because it was so gross looking, I think the pepper blend, but so much of it was just fine and quite the bargain, especially the spices!
This is a great idea to get people to see just how inexpensive eating WFPB can be. I always look forward to your videos for too many reasons to name in one comment. I was shocked when I transformed to my nutritious life (4 years ago) that my first months shopping bill dropped by 40%. Meat and dairy are so expensive! Especially since I ate more meat than veg. I also spent less on meds since I didn't have to take so many. Cheers!
Omg. I luved forever knight. I use the blueberries in my oatmeal all the time. They're better than aldi. Sometimes they are small and other times they are large berries. Don't know why.
Ok, so I know it was 6 months ago but I loved the pre intro! “I’d buy that for a dollar!” Love the Robocop reference! Liked video witching first three seconds! Not that the rest of the video wasn’t good or filled with great info, but that just spoke to my soul!
Those rice cakes are really good. They are thin too. So I feel I can eat two lol. Love the salt free seasoning. I love the carrot chips. I was surprised. I did the riced cauliflower to my rice.
Himalayan sea salt sounds like an oxymoron to me. I live in Japan, so no Dollar Trees, but I’m going to check the much smaller food section of my local 100 yen store (Daiso).
Those spring rolls are krack!!! I like the peppers and onions mix, frozen fruit is generally ok and the frozen veggie can be a bit iffy I think. I am curious about the carrots and mango. Great vid and looking forward to more!
I knew Dollar Tree carried some of those things, but that is quite a haul! I have one just 5 blocks from me so I'll be going there soon. And I loved the show Forever Knight! Now I'm going to be checking all the bargain bin places for those videos.
That's a fancy Dollar Tree! Mine doesn't even have a fridge/freezer section. It's not intended to sell decent real food. Surprised and impressed by yours in IL. I'm in the Denver area, CO.
Wow Im impressed with the cost! excellent. Looking forward to the review of the frozen food you bought at the dollar store. Sometimes the frozen veggies fall very short.
This was a great idea! I didn’t like a couple of the frozen veggies (peas and the winter blend of cauliflower/broccoli) so far, so I would just try a little and see. I have tried many of the non frozen items and like them.

I saw what you bought. I want to know if it was good/bad or indifferent when you used it. You said you'd make a post about it. Did you? If so where?
I'm soooo excited that you're doing this budget-friendly series! I can't wait to find out what you make with all these Dollar Tree food items. 🤟
“I’ll get out my clip board and make a chart!!” Love this. I can’t wait for the price comparison chart.
Me either. Because I know some of those items are cheaper at Walmart but some are cheaper at the DT. The beans and rice are a good deal.
Great idea you two 👍❤️
Thanks so much for the inspiration. We went to dollar tree today and were amazed at all the fruits and veggies. Forever Knight was the absolute best vampire based series! Criminally underrated. The dvd series was only released in limited run when the fans petitioned it, had to spend a ton for the complete set.
Just proves one can find whole food options regardless of their location or budget! Nice video!
That's what we were aiming for. Thank you, Kim! 😀
Great idea for series...we also have a store called 99 cent stores and they have organic veggies fresh and frozen when lucky enough to find them! Look forward to the week of $1 store eats.
Those vegan spring rolls are the bomb for a buck!!
I buy the blueberries all the time & I'm always happy with them.
Plant based on a budget is a great idea!!
LOVE those spring Rolls! When we find them, we will buy 5 packages! Usually have them like once a month. Only air fry 5, 2 for my hubby and 3 for me! I like to dip mine into Trader Joe's sweet chili sauce. YUM!

That is a huge, impressive Dollar Tree!
We love those Jennifer's Garden spring rolls too! Such a good and tasty deal!
This is awesome! So many people r struggling financially during this pandemic & this will help. I’m curious to see what Brian will come up with to put on those rice cakes! In the name of this "pandemic" our rights and freedoms were taken away. 😔
What a decent, thoughtful thing to do!!
I'd like to see the quick frozen dinners that you recommend. My problem is time and energy so I need quick but yet healthy
We don't have Dollar Tree in Australia but I love grocery store adventures!
This was a fun one! 😁
I love Dollar Tree’s frozen mango! I actually prefer it over other brands
I'd love to see a comparison of cost per pound of some of these things. I find that Dollar Tree is often more expensive if you evaluate the true cost per ounce or per pound.
This was amazing! Thankyou for doing all the WORK for us!! I never would have guessed and now I will go to dollar store with my list!!!
I wish my Dollar Tree had a frozen food section, but it’s small. Good for you guys!
This is real- life research and so helpful!Thank you!
I loved Forever Knight! I didn't know that it was on DVD. Great find!
Yeah, I was shocked to find it there. 😀

Miranda at Running on Plants has a great series on Plant-based on a budget!
I've gone to the Dollar Tree many times but never even looked at the frozen foods until I saw your video. I got the bowls too (I actually did need them). I've now gained a renewed appreciation for the store. Thanks for the motivation and helping me in my "adventure" too. : )
Yes! Robocop! one of the classics! "I'll buy that for a dollar."
This was a great video. Looking forward to the rest of the series!
Can't wait for part 2! Great content! Thank you!

Frozen whole green beans are great. we don't have Dollar tree but I buy it in Aldi. Good for your bean recipe
I rice my own cauliflower from fresh
We found the Spring Rolls and ate them with a stir-fry tonight 😋😋
I love your budget friendly theme! Couple things to keep in mind: Non-organic oats are soaked in Roundup pesticide usually. I try to stick to organic only for that reason. I eat those rice cakes. I really like them. Not every Dollar Tree in my area has them though,

Debbie in WA Ü
I am so happy that you are doing videos of eating healthy on a budget because some people say eating healthy is too expensive and I think it really doesn't have to be.
Well done!! Looking forward to seeing the next video.
You both make my day happier ❤️
The brown rice cakes are amazing.
This is your first Dollar Tree haul?! Silly gooses!
Super duper great idea!!! Thank you so much! My husband has ALS and so our food budget is soooooo tight. I can't wait!
The Dollar Tree that you went to must be a super sized. The stores near me are much smaller and have fewer items and many of the larger Dollar Tree stores do not carry any refrigerated/frozen foods. You are lucky to have that resource available.
Amazing! I've never been a A Dollar Store or Tree or General and certainly didn't know they carried food! Wow!
Finally! Thank you
The spring rolls are so good. What a great haul :)

Loving Brian's breakfast sandwich. It's my new obsession and I drizzle mine with a tiny bit of PB2. Delicious!
Try the PB2 on a rice cracker maybe with a touch of jelly or maybe a little date paste.
Cool challenge Jessica! We love the Tree!!!

This is awesome! I’m going to have to check out what my Dollar Tree has. Thanks for sharing and excited for the one week video.
the snack section used to be so fun, now it is just a lot of reading labels and putting things back 😂
Our dollar tree on the outskirts of Seattle always looks like a war zone haha. Yours looks nice!
Omg. I luved forever knight. I use the blueberries in my oatmeal all the time. They're better than aldi. Sometimes they are small and other times they are large berries. Don't know why.
Love the idea of a week of Dollar Tree meals.
I was just telling someone I want to check into the Dollar Tree!
This is great. Would love an Aldi haul.
They had one a few weeks ago. Jessica went to three different grocery stores, but she stopped at Aldi first because they're the most budget friendly.
@@KellyS_77 I saw the video shortly after making this post. Thank you!
Ok, so I know it was 6 months ago but I loved the pre intro! “I’d buy that for a dollar!” Love the Robocop reference! Liked video witching first three seconds! Not that the rest of the video wasn’t good or filled with great info, but that just spoke to my soul!
Haha I loved the Forever Knight series ! And loved all of this video! Great find!
It was a good show. I told Jessica I am going to make her watch it. 😀
LOVED this episode and can't wait to see the recipes you made from it
They (spring rolls ) are awesome. Perfect for Chinese New Year
I love those rice cakes! I buy 3 or 4 at a time when I see them. The veggie spring rolls are great in the air fryer.
Those rice cakes are really good. They are thin too. So I feel I can eat two lol. Love the salt free seasoning. I love the carrot chips. I was surprised. I did the riced cauliflower to my rice.

I knew Dollar Tree carried some of those things, but that is quite a haul! I have one just 5 blocks from me so I'll be going there soon.

Love this video!! Hope we can see what you create with the ingredients.🇨🇦
Wow Im impressed with the cost! excellent. Looking forward to the review of the frozen food you bought at the dollar store. Sometimes the frozen veggies fall very short.
That is the best dollar tree. I go there all the time.
Great video! Thanks!
Fun video. Look forward to the results of your challenge.
This is awesome guys !!!! I do get stuff from there from time to time.
This was a great idea! I didn’t like a couple of the frozen veggies (peas and the winter blend of cauliflower/broccoli) so far, so I would just try a little and see. I have tried many of the non frozen items and like them.
I love their frozen stir fry veggie mix and the spring rolls. I also HAVE to have that salt free seasoning stocked at all times
