Because of the covid-19 shut down many will be out of work for a while , but are so many better healthier food options than the Dollar Tree! Try beans, rice, pasta, dried fruit, seeds, etc. At the grocery store, canned fish, sardines are much less than at the dollar store!
Donna E You are so right. Buy America if you can afford it. Boycott China! Not because the virus came from there, but because they lied about it and this caused Americans as we'll as people of of other countries to be caught unaware of this killer and unable to protect themselves until it was too late.
The American government and big business sold out America years ago to China. America hardly has any food manufacturing companies or jobs here. Even the berries we eat are grown in Mexico but processed in the US "Driscoll". Check the labels, almost nothing is from America. They label it US to keep people buying it but it's not grown on US soil. You have to grow your own or go to local farmer's markets. The US companies has facilities and their corporate offices on US soil but the products are sometimes from international countries. They have contracts with the farmers there.
I will do without rather than buy anything from China especially the fish. I won't buy fish from Trader Joe's either because it comes from polluted Asian waters.
I literally had already checked through in the check out line when the woman behind me said she had gotten the product and it had shards of glass in it! She probably was bs or didn't understand large grain salt but I had them take it off! I do shop at $1 stores but leery as I do it. But there are some great products in there. Good place for your can food back-ups! I used to get a great canned fish there that I fed to my cat and dogs. I tasted it and it was good and likely better than tuna! It even still had skins on and looked like fish! (Not sardines or anything but regular fish) ps. Can't find it anymore.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for this! I was at the point where it was hard for me, because I do value your knowledge and time/effort to make these videos, but I was starting to feel like a very bad mom. There are many products that I buy because, although they are not 'best in class / buy all day long', they should still be classed as a 'good choice' and you normally say 'I would not buy this'. And with this video you have actually said 'although not the best, this is a great option and you would buy it.' This is so important to people like me who have to choose the couple items to really choose to buy Organic/Non-Gmo/Grass Fed-Finished and then what is OK to buy because, although not the best, they are an OK option. Your opinions here and this video have kinda restored my sanity back to not feeling like I needed to All or Nothing when it came to healthy / healthier options. Thank you again!

I just wanted to respectfully bring this to your attention, when I was at ALDI and looked at the frozen Wild Salmon that you had recommended in recent videos, I was shocked to see that it is from China as well and I would never purchase that product because I do not trust the quality. Thank you for all of the information that you provide to everyone for us to make better decisions for a healthy life!!!
Yes you are right I bought frozen salmon base on that aldi video when I went to cook it I saw it was a product of China. I am sure it was mistake good thing it was only $3.99 I think.
I never buy fish from Alaska anymore. Soooo upset Fukashima nuclear plant still leaking and will for decades to come into the Northwest Pacific Coast. Independent reports from the government's coming in that it is in their fishing Waters
That baby is gonna grow up knowing all about the best foods to eat and the best foods to stay away from. She's going to be teaching grown adults like myself at the age of 5 lol great job dad! I love how you hold her while filming. She is learning so much from you just by hearing you talk about nutrition at such an early age.
He's not advocating shopping there - he's responding to all the comments on other shopping hauls that people didn't have the money to buy things he chose.
Compare this to to the early 90s or even 2000s. All the frozen vegetables, cauliflower rice, coconut well you watched the video. Back in the day or even five years ago it was all junk food and 90 percent junk food and no healthy options. It goes to show the power of keto and modern people realizing this super junk food give you diabetes. I can't imagine in another five years what they will have
I'm in California and we have The .99 store and Dollar Tree. They are both great. However, Dollar Tree has some really good products. And a $ means a $ at Dollar Tree. 😀 thanks Bobby
@@mariee.5912 Maybe when she turn 12 and kids want to lose weight she will be really helpful. Try telling a 15 year old football player after burning 800 calories and only eating a cup of cereal for breakfast to not eat that piece of pizza or bag of chips. You should get a salad with extra virgin olive oil and some Salmon see how that works.
I’ve always been hesitant to purchase food at my dollar tree. In my city we don’t have access to whole foods, trader joe’s etc I will now feel more confident stopping by dollar tree. Thanks
I wish my dollar tree had good things like that. There was one time I went to one a good bit further away and found these garlic bagel chips that a few days later I saw at Publix on sale 2 for 6 or something like that. You can find great things at the dollar store but also a lot of processed terrible junk. Still a good place to go when you are on a really tight budget and are just trying to make it through a tough time.
I went to my local supermarket yesterday and took a look at Crisco oil. The label said vegetable oil and when I looked at the ingredients, it listed only soybean oil. I shudder to think of all the nutritional damage that my parents and grandparents did to themselves before they had such food knowledge. As well as myself, since I only started learning about this two years ago. I only wish we had been this enlightened about food earlier.
I would gander a guess that Crisco oil was NOT soybean oil back then! Soybean oil invaded more recently but not as recently as the destruction of large acreages of rain forest to grow palm.😥 Nothing wrong with bringing in certain exports a country is known for but something DEEPLY DISTURBING about jamming a cargo plane full of live chickens to a far away land, with a poor reputation against animals, who then process them and ship back to us. Or chopping down beautiful life sustaining rain forest to create a palm oil trade. Meet the Globalist elite.😤
Don't think you need to worry so much about what your parents and grandparents ate as do the people today. I think that Crisco started out using cottonseed oil, in 2012 they started using a blend of the bad stuff palm oil and soybean. When greed took over in these giant name brands we all trusted that's when widespread health issues took over the consumer. People also want fast meals, where are grandparents cooked healthier homecooked meals that simmered all day with the bone in the meats.
Iris loves life 😩😭 my mom used to use Crisco all the time. It’s crazy how uneducated we all are about food and nutrition. You would think it would come naturally.
FlavCity with Bobby Parrish back in our parents and grandparents day, they did a lot of their cooking with lard and bacon grease, often rendered from their own, or locally sourced animals, plus, as you said, more were self sustaining and knew the source of their food. Plus, they worked harder physically. All factors in why they were healthier in many respects..
Great that you've reviewed this store for those of us who don't have easy access to the Sam's, Costco's & Aldi stores. I'm a health advocate/gardener& have been circulating you videos. The reality is that DT, Family Dollar, Dollar General items often play a big portion of folk's food shopping budget in urban areas. Now that I'm living in a smaller S. Arkansas town, I get my Coconut Oil, Himalayan Sea Salt, ACV, Garlic, Onion Powder, other spices w/o MSG, mustards & sometimes coconut milk from Dollar Tree. It's true, watching those product ingredients is key. Our DT here also stock the best frozen vegetables...a wonderful stir-fry mix w/ peppers & onions, broccoli mix, blueberries, carrots, etc. It's helpful for everyone's budget.
I don't know that I would trust that the fish was actually wild. China has been known to swap out their farmed raised fish with the wild that we send them to process. : /
I m really happy you did a video of the dollar tree, I really enjoy your videos, its kinda hard buying the healthy foods you share being on a fixed income is hard but I manage being a diabetic thank you for your videos.....Rosie is a beautiful baby....thank you again
My stepmom is convinced that canola oil is good for you. 😭Meanwhile, I grew up when she wasn't around being told that extra virgin olive and organic coconut oil were at the time then I learned about grapeseed oil. She is convinced that she is right about everything, when I look at my parents though I see all the processed food taking a toll on their faces and bodies. Not that I'm perfect at it, more often not. I'm still like...if only they had food education.
Thank you for sharing this budget friendly recipe. Budgeting better with my groceries has been on my mind with the rising prices. This kind of video is very helpful for me and I am sure many other people right now. I try to budget best I can but I know I can always learn. I make cooking videos too so you know I’m making lots of food so every penny I can save on groceries counts. I hope that we can continue to learn from each other. Never stop learning and growing!
I loved all the info - I’m a big DT shopper, and now realize I’ve been doing some of the no-no’s. I’ve never noticed the frozen fish at our store, but now I’m going to look for it ! Rose was SO good, and adorable 😍
Diabetes nectar of the gods 😂😂😂 Thank you for this haul Bobby! Dollar Tree, Family Dollar and Dollar General have become staples in neighborhoods that are considered food deserts so it's nice to see that some healthy choices are still available in these cases.
I know this video is nearly a year old, but thank you for listening to your audience when it comes to budget grocery hauls. We are on a budget and we straddle the poverty line but we also want to be able to eat the best foods we can. For us, that has meant getting a monthly produce box that includes organics at a fraction of what I pay for them at any local grocer and making use of our local scratch and dent grocer which often has great deals on healthy foods. I just really appreciate that you are taking the time to do this and hope you'll continue to in the future.
DT is nostalgia heaven for me. Love their giant pretzels, six to a pack, in the freezer section. They taste just like the ones I used to buy for 5 cents each from a Jewish street vendor when I was a kid in the 50's in NYC. Dollar Tree pretzels include the salt in separate packets, so you don't have to use them. I defrost in 10 minutes at room temperature, then warm them up, tear into large pieces and dip in mustard. Same ones cost several dollars at supermarkets. Also, their Luigi's real Italian ice is the same brand sold in supermarkets, and love that, too. Takes me back to my childhood. Lots of old fashion candy there, but I know better now than to eat it.
I do shop Dollar Tree, mostly for cleaning items, office supplies, gift wrap/cards and a few food items. I will not purchase foods sourced from/through China, or South America, due to concerns over farming and preserving practices. I was surprised that you didn't get the following: dried 16 oz black beans and red kidney beans, 24 oz dried pintos, no salt garlic and herb seasoning (mimics Mrs Dash), 20 oz mustard. The 10 oz TJ Farms fzn blueberries are also a bargain, you referenced them, didn't have them. 18 oz oats are also sold there (I am picky, however, and source mine in the 42 oz canister at WF-organic ones), lb bags of both brown and white rice, flour tortillas, 28 oz cans of tomato sauce/puree, 24 oz boxes of pasta. Mine carries medium eggs only. The egg count varies, as egg prices fluctuate, Can be 12, 8, or just 6. I always do the math to compare against other stores, such as the Aldi's next door.
Glad I scrolled through the comments before posting or I would have mentioned the same stuff you did. The only thing I didn't notice you mentioning is the pizza sauce. They have one (forget name unfortunately) that's made with extra virgin olive oil and very tiny pieces of tomato that really makes your pizza taste like something special. - Also, with so many people cooking and freezing stuff I'm surprised he didn't mention plastic containers. They have ever size you'll probably ever need. And at 4/$1 that's a damn good deal.
Where are the pickles, mustard & other condiments- all the dollar seasonings and flavorings, coconut milk etc. I think you skipped several aisles. My store has frozen Broccoli and cauliflower. You need another trip. Thanks for the beginning of this video - I did learn a few things. 😁😁
Becky Taylor different dollar stores have different varieties. I have 5 in my local area and have to visit each one to get everything I need sometimes.
Yes mine has frozen, canned and occasionally pickled asparagus. Just also frozen fruits not just canned. As well as dry rice, beans and other essentials to make your own bread and stuff.
I appreciate the info! I stopped eating seaweed because of the (supposed) cancer causing ingredients. Thank you for setting the record straight! Baby Rose is precious, God bless!!!!!!
If you want to bring God into it then you know God said ''everything man does is for his stomach'', that was not a compliment, JESUS SAID ''it is not what you put in your mouth but what comes out of your mouth that matters. '' p.s. we should take care that we keep healthy.
Thank you for the video. Dollar Tree has some great stuff I had sent an IG message on the Flav City page of something I found in my local Dollar Tree. Also have found great stuff at Big Lots like Epic Bone Broth $5 Epic Pork Rinds $2 The only problem with both stores is you might not find it all the time.
Another great vid!💗 I’m not buying from DT or supporting China any longer, but it’s perfectly easy to make these healthy purchases from local supermarkets👍🏻 I totally get that some people have no choice but to buy from DT, and I’m sorry☹️ but at least this gives some healthy choices when ur that strapped for cash.

@@bonniegirl5138 I lost 30 pounds about 7 years ago using Apple Cider Vinegar without "The Mother", hadn't actually heard about it yet, so that's mot really a huge issue for me.
It’s kind of hard to find items not made in China. I hate it too. The quality/safety is questionable.
I will do without rather than buy anything from China especially the fish. I won't buy fish from Trader Joe's either because it comes from polluted Asian waters.
I found Himalayan pink salt at the dollar tree!
i was looking for that too!
I bought the exactly same pink Himalayan salt in Wal-Mart for almost $5 ....days after I found at dollar tree 😕😕😕😕
Yes, I found Himalayan Pink Salt the other day from the DT and bought it because Bobby recommended it. It seems to be a high quality, too.
That's where I get mine. Many of those items aren't at my Dollar tree. I suspect different areas have different items. I am in upstate NY.
Thank you for ALL your fantastic videos you do for all of us. And, thank you to your beautiful daughter Rose, for always putting a smile on my face.....SO ADORABLE!!!!
Big Lots would be a good place to do a budget haul. They even have Keto and organic foods.
Yes please!

I'd like to see that!
🤫Not crowded too
@DaddyGirl Tons of food actually. Ours is in a super dangerous place, so I never go anymore.
I love that he can't stop kissing his baby girl.
She seems to like it too.
You know she has him wrapped around her little finger. #daddysgirl🎀
Yes, he really loves her
Crazy cute click bait eh :)
I come to say the same thing!!! I'm 35 and still have my daddy wrapped around my finger! On the flipside I'm around his too. I do things for him I never do for myself. #daddysgirlforever
Bobby thank you from the bottom of my heart. I have been waiting for you & your team to go somewhere that is truly budget friendly and realistic and you have just done it... at the perfect time, no less. ❤️❤️❤️
Sweetie Rose has “ NATURAL SWEETNESS”😍
She is going to be an early talker...love the way you speak to her naturally and no goo goo ga ga 😂😂
Great vid as usual... I love the dried seaweed...my daughter introduced me to them. I can wipe out an entire bag by myself😋
Tammie Monahan are you serious? Get a grip
@@holdon2829 Why are you leaving such a negative comment to this person who was thanking Bobby for his help. Stop being so sour and learn to scroll please.
The baby is SO sweet and so comfortable with you in your kitchen! What a great baby! You talked about SO much...thanks a lot! It is SO important for people on a budget to learn your ways! Keep up the GREAT work! Nightie Night, sweet baby!
Christ is Risen! Happy Easter to everyone watching! 💕
Thx happy Easter to you too!
Another tip: For those of you who have EBT Amazon Fresh now accepts it on many great products and delivery is free. This is a blessings to many who have lost their jobs and have been on Unemployment, Cal Fresh or Government assistance. Thanks Bobby for all your awesome videos. I’ve learned so much in a short amount of time. 🙏🏾
oh my gosh!!!! She is the cutest little sweetheart Iv'e ever seen!!!!!
SHE IS!! I love chunky babies. She's perfect!!!
please don't apologize for Rose grabbing the mike, there are two perfect sounds in the world, happy baby bab;e & toddler giggle fits they will lift your spirits and put a smile on your face no matter what as much as I love and appreciate the knowledge I gain from you, I wouldn't mind hearing from her more often! my kids are grown and off in college I really miss that sound
Wow Amazing that’s why I love dollar tree. Usually haul groceries and essentials and even beauty hauls. It’s amazing.
I love I. You say "palm oil" and Rose starts to cry. 🤣 Rose is too sweet. 💕
Aldi products are tested and safe with higher standards than many higher priced brands.
@kenjohanson...Aldi's or DT, China is China!
Love how Rose has gone from just chillin to actually helping Bobby cook! 💜
Dollar Tree!!! I never thought this day would come on this channel!
He's not advocating shopping there - he's responding to all the comments on other shopping hauls that people didn't have the money to buy things he chose.
DO you have a problem with DT. Is it beneath You?
I click so fast I was like wat good info
Compare this to to the early 90s or even 2000s. All the frozen vegetables, cauliflower rice, coconut well you watched the video. Back in the day or even five years ago it was all junk food and 90 percent junk food and no healthy options. It goes to show the power of keto and modern people realizing this super junk food give you diabetes. I can't imagine in another five years what they will have
I thought only Cheap Junk can be Bought at Dollar Tree.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm in California and we have The .99 store and Dollar Tree. They are both great. However, Dollar Tree has some really good products. And a $ means a $ at Dollar Tree. 😀 thanks Bobby
I wish you would do more of these types of videos. For those who must stick to budgets need this type of info.
Rose is a child prodigy! I can't WAIT until you set her up at the kiddy table, telling the other kids which kid food is good 4 them and taste good! 😁
😂I hope she doesn't go to school telling everyone what's healthy 😂😂
@@mariee.5912 nah! She can have her own yt show with her own subscribers🍭 😁

Marie E. 😂😂😂😂😂
I’ve always been hesitant to purchase food at my dollar tree. In my city we don’t have access to whole foods, trader joe’s etc I will now feel more confident stopping by dollar tree. Thanks
Time for everyone to be on a budget.

I pop in your channel again just to see how is Rosie, just looking at her makes your mood lifted up to the sky, she is so cute!!! All the best
Awwww.. hey Rose 🤗🤗🤗🤗!!! Thank you for this haul Bobby!! Congrats on over 1 million subscribers!!!
I only wish we had been this enlightened about food earlier.
it's very very true, but at least they ate real food back then, not like today!
I would gander a guess that Crisco oil was NOT soybean oil back then! Soybean oil invaded more recently but not as recently as the destruction of large acreages of rain forest to grow palm.😥
Nothing wrong with bringing in certain exports a country is known for but something DEEPLY DISTURBING about jamming a cargo plane full of live chickens to a far away land, with a poor reputation against animals, who then process them and ship back to us.
I love the kisses in-between your teaching. Oh my word I have underestimated dollar tree during my dieting! TY
Blah blah blah kiss Rose, blah blah blah kiss Rose, blah blah blah kiss Rose, blah blah blah kiss Rose 🤣
I love it.. she's so very kissable 💋
@Diana Moore I know, they're so chubby! My goodness I want to squeeze her 🤗.

@@BobbyParrish It's the sweetest. Who needs dessert with all that sugar?!
I love that you did this video! Thank you so much for all y’all do!
I would pass on the Chinese fish products, even if it were free.
Same.
I don't know that I would trust that the fish was actually wild. China has been known to swap out their farmed raised fish with the wild that we send them to process. : /
They are probably sewer raised.😏
I wouldn’t trust anything from China
@@NewbirthHannah05 amen!
You never know...its China that we're talking about here 🤔
Jessica Sims - it really makes me sad
Keep the budget grocery tips coming. Millions are having a hard time making ends meet. Thanks!
Budget tips are especially important with the inflation we are dealing with!
Thanks for the interesting information on what to buy and what not to buy at Dollar tree. I want to add that I enjoy watching you cook with Rose.👍😋😋😋
Rose is so darn cute! Thanks for sharing this Bobby, I love shopping @ the DT. Everything for a buck! Yes please! 💰👍
Rose is such a good baby. She was so relaxed during the video. It's good to see your love for her. That's great. Also, thanks for information.
Thank you so much bobby for all the food inspiration along with the facts that we need in order to be better shoppers!
Thank you for such an informative video! Love how you go into detail with every item and I love all the affection you show your baby girl 💕
@@magusxxx LOL-I am a home canner, and make my own pizza sauce . Yes, foil pans, too are a real bargain.
Thank you for the video, tell Rose I appreciate her giving her adorable opinion 🥰
Good morning! Rose is so cute! Happy Easter!
alway great to watch you so natural on video....multi-tasking and teaching at the same time...awesome
And bagged salads. Southwestern is my fav
I appreciate the info! I stopped eating seaweed because of the (supposed) cancer causing ingredients. Thank you for setting the record straight! Baby Rose is precious, God bless!!!!!!
I just have to say...the way you address re Rose reminds me of how much God loves us all! He can’t stop kissing us too!
If you want to bring God into it then you know God said ''everything man does is for his stomach'', that was not a compliment, JESUS SAID ''it is not what you put in your mouth but what comes out of your mouth that matters. '' p.s. we should take care that we keep healthy.
get the canned chicken too. A good pantry staple. Rose is so adorable. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the video.
Dollar Tree has some great stuff I had sent an IG message on the Flav City page of something I found in my local Dollar Tree.
Also have found great stuff at Big Lots like
Epic Bone Broth $5
Epic Pork Rinds $2
The only problem with both stores is you might not find it all the time.
Thank you so much! I love that you do all of this while holding that sweet baby! Love your channel!
I help care for a 17 year old with special needs who has never walked on her own. I've been with her since she was 4. Her Mom had a Tush Baby or something just like it, and we used it with her for SO long! She was literally 6 years old hanging off our hip. Obviously most people wouldn't need to use it that long but I highly recommend it. Kids get heavy, even babies!
Love it when you say "Run Forest Run"
Great job Rose for going on the potty. I don't usually see parents training this early. That's amazing 💜 Happy Easter 🐣☦
I had 5 babies started all of them at 9 mos. with the potty. Very easy...early is better. The longer you wait the harder it is. My first baby was asking me potty no.1 and no.2 at 14 mos.
True, at age 2 my kids were completely trained and talking, it was normal.
Thanks for sharing all your knowledge in how to look for the better ingredients in food Bobby.

Very true....hang on to your reciept!!!
idk if anyone else noticed, but the hip thingy that rose is sitting on is GENIUS! About time someone created something that doesn't throw ur hips out of whack when holding a child! very informative video & adorable baby, btw😀
I've been getting that Coconut Oil for years, Dollar Tree is my go-to for it, I've also bought the Apple cider vinegar as well, I was shocked that they had one that size for a $1 with 'The Mother". I always get my frozen fruit for my smoothies from their, the bags are a decent size and you just can't beat a dollar.
:)
Seriously how do you know it is really mother and not an additive to look like mother?
@@bonniegirl5138 I lost 30 pounds about 7 years ago using Apple Cider Vinegar without "The Mother", hadn't actually heard about it yet, so that's mot really a huge issue for me. Also it somehow made my fibroid pain way more bearable, something to do with the acidity I believe. I do tend to go for the ones with "The Mother", these days, just because of the health benefits as opposed to plain ACV. So use your own best judgement, what ever works for you. 😊
