Hi Paul, Great review. I have to be honest, I can never get enough of the Nissan Patrol reviews. I love it. I wish that company can also be assigned to make these upgrades in South Africa. We use to not buy many of these petrol Patrols here, but ever since Toyota ditched the V8 in Landcruiser 300 there was shift to Patrol. You see a lot of them now, and I think this upgrade would win even more people to it, myself included. You can always buy me one and ship it to South Africa, that's an option 😁.
Sounds like a typical Toyota dork comment in your inefficient v8 that’s slower than a 1GD 2.8L hilux engine lol so yea it is a lambo compared to that sh*tbox!

Hey Paul was looking at some older videos when searching for the old review of this car and noticed you used to put length width height measurements on cars. Can you resume doing that now that we have more and more of these behemoths of vehicles in the market. Would be a good indication of how big it will be like in the real world
I'm no marketing expert. But would this upgrade be worth with the expectation that people are going to try buy current vehicles before the emissions laws comes into effect for new cars? Despite when the next gen is coming out? New Infiniti qx80 has the twin turbo v6 and you would think they would use that platform for the new patrol as well. So may be closer than we think?
Hi Car Expert, think it would be great if you guys could do a comparison of popular tow vehicles as against categories of vehicles which you have done in the past. For eg comparing towing the characteristics of say, Ranger, Hilux, Y62, Landcruiser, Ram & Chev to name some. Regards

Ok, Paul and others keep saying the Y62 is “Full-Time” 4WD - technically it isn’t. To have true Full-Time 4WD you need a centre differential to supply torque to the front and rear axles - the Patrol does NOT have one! Instead it has an electrically operated clutch pack in the transfer case to supply torque to the front axle. In AUTO mode the clutch pack is normally disengaged so no torque is supplied to the front. It has sensors and a control unit to detect wheel slip, and if detected will operate the clutch pack to supply torque the front axle. When 4-Hi is selected the clutch pack is just permanently engaged all the time. When 4-Lo is selected an electric motor drives gear selection of a lower ratio in transfer case while simultaneously mechanically engaging the front axle so the clutch pack is not required. Hope this helps.
