You have no idea how I’ve tried coming up with more things to craft with those lids I’ve saved throughout the last few months! I’ve made several little quick projects with them but ran out of ideas and the wind chime is for certain the one craft I was waiting for without knowing it! Wow! It is truly awesome! Thank you so much for that great idea! You’ve rescued those poor lids I was about to retire! ❤
My favorite diy was the windchime . I absolutely loved it. So creative. Love your channel. I hate throwing anything out so this is the perfect channel for my diys. Thanks so much. ❤️
should have told us this is a spoiler 🤭 I was just about to comment on the candle holder, when I saw your comment and realized there's even more surprises waiting for me
Super great ideas!! I save mine too until I have so many that it bugs me and I put them in the recycling bin. I tried making ornaments but never worked out too good. Sometimes you just have to see something else to get your mind rolling. Thanks so much for sharing!!!
I love them all! My sister loves wind chimes. So I think that'll probably be the first one I try. Make her a wind chime with her children's names on it. Thank you for the awesome ideas!
All cute ideas. One I saw years ago that has come in handy is a wrist pincushion using a jar lid. Basically glue a length of elastic to a jar lid on the interior. Then cut a circle of scrap fabric, fill either with fabric scraps or cotton. Glue that into the lid covering the elastic ends. Voila! I think Annika Victoria posted it? Maybe? It was years ago I saw that idea though
Now I know what Good use to put twine. Use it for many things but never thought about this. Another great idea I will be trying out. Thank you so much for sharing all your wonderful ideas with us. You’re so very kind. Scotland
Hi Deidre. Another great video. I have lots of jar lids that my hubby has been after me to get rid of. Lol. Well, now I know what I’ll be doing with many of them. Thanks for the inspiration!
I loved the wind chime. But my husband hates any wind chime so I probably won’t be making that one, but I am definitely making some of the other projects.
I live in TEXAS, for the garden stakes, I would attach the lid with a small nail or staple on to the wood before adding the words, hot glue wouldn’t last a day in 100 degree weather. Love the idea ❤️
Hi there Deidre, i enjoyed watching this video, my favorites were the gift tag, it's very nice, the magnet, the coaster is great too & the wind chimes are a great idea as well.
I'm so grateful for you!! thanks for sharing this wonderful, inspired, super-creative vid. the wind chimes take the prize, hands down. I liked the cup coasters best, as they are the most useful for me. and they were also the seed for my idea: names place-tags for the table! we have a lot of holidays here in Israel, and all of them come with more than one festive meal. When we get together the whole family, we are already 37 (my in-laws, my dad, my sisters and brothers in-law, their children and the few of their spouses that have started to join the family). Add to this a few guests, and we're usually more than 45 at a meal. I got the idea of bringing name tags once, 6-7 years back, and since then, it's my job to make and bring them! I just about ran out of ideas, and as a crafts teacher it's not done to use the same idea twice. so here we are: use the lids to make name tags!! used the same process as the coasters, only I used patterned backgrounds (animals for the few who work with them, camouflage for the soldiers, marocan-arabic flowery ones for the ladies etc). I originally thought of using cork stoppers (and glue them in the back of the lid, like a photo frame prop) but it wasn't steady enough. so I used half-inch dowels to make little "feet" at the junction of the standing lid and the table. and of course, I covered those in the background pattern as well
Hi Deidre, This was a great video of lid ideas. I live in Arlington, VA and starting last winter we are no longer allowed to put glass in our receptical can, only plastic metal and paper. We all now have to drive our glass jars to an area about 10 min from me and put all the glass in there. For a long time I used the glass jars for crafts but now my new little home is so very tiny with less kitchen cabinets and closets I now have to discard the glass. I have been needing ideas for the lids and I thought of making a mobile out of the kids with jute cord and a embroidery hoop but, I love the tin can better. I save all of my tin cans and extra dishes in my dish washer and craft supplies and I hand wash dishes. I always forget things I want to tell you, always positive feedback only about these ideas but, for the life of me I cannot remember one comment. But, I make my own business cards with card stock and I have a little hand held punch I can make different corners with it. OH I REMEMBER what I wanted to tell you. The wood rounds you used on the lid to make your candle holder - in January from Amazon I ordered 50 1 inch wood hearts for another craft for Valentine's Day, but, I have many left. I have always been into hearts to use everyday. I am definitely going to make a candle holder and make one with stained hearts to look like an Amish candle holder and I will paint one. Maybe every other heart with my JOY transfers I will put JOY on them which was my mom's favorite word. If I succeed at my ideas stemming from your's, I will give you a shout out on my Instagram site. I am glad TH-cam still had this video up. Blessings, Rebekah
The wind chimes is my favorite. I have been saving my jar lids with the idea that I would make Christmas ornaments with them. Haven’t finalized my ideas yet but thanks to you I am closer to it.
My dad would screw the lids to the bottom of the stairs tread. He then put extra screws etc stored in his work room. My friend reused the jars and lids for jams and sauces. I keep buttons and sewing supplies and decorate the lids with fabric & thread &put on the shelf. I liked the fringed lid, I might tie odd knots on the tips for interest. Oh yeah I have mine saved and catagorized by size. I have those little jam & honey jars. While watching I was inspired to glue them to the underside of a board inorder to make a platform. I also used smaller ones for the alphabet when teaching preschoolers. I think I'll take your painting idea over to them. I might vary the sizes and add texture for added interest. I better stop. It has been inspirational. Thank you.
These are so sweet. They would make good Christmas ornaments too !! Love the magnate one with the fringing thinking that I will make my own letter graphics. Maybe some simple drawings of flowers and such. I am a self taught artist and have the creativity to build on that !
I love the wind chime. I am mad about wind chimes I have two that I have repurposed on my back porch. I bought them at the thrift store and they were all ripped apart I completely redid them and I enjoy them all the time. I will definitely be making one of these for myself. I absolutely love it ❤️
After watching the first project, I thought to myself that'd work well with an inspirational quote and voila, you'd thought of it too! Great minds and all of that! The different coloured lids in the wind chime project has deffo given me some ideas. Thank you for inspiring me and many others. 💚
