Well, he also succeed because he didn't use or even leverage any of the gadgets in his work, while the rest did and you see how difficult it was. Fail is a well deserved result for all of them.
I love that in a challenge where Jamie KNOWS the dish will require Coconut, Popcorn, and something to be cooked with a blowtorch, he goes "you know what imma toast a steak!"

If Jamie had managed to convey his steak spring roll idea, Mike had made some sort of zingy coconut dipping sauce, Barry had puffed some rice instead of popcorn to add some texture to the rolls, and Ben had assembled everything with some torch charred veg, this could have been a great success
For Jamie's 'toaster steak' idea to have worked, I think his only real chance of success would have been shaving off super super thin steak-um style slices of steak so they cooked all the way through. Not just lay the toaster on a slab.
The most fascinating part of Pass It On to me is that the normals frequently decide that the best time to try to make something they've only ever seen in videos, or have only ever heard of and don't really know how to make, is in this format where they have no wiggle room for when it goes sideways. Or maybe he was just watching in awe at the awesomeness that Ben was putting out and thus forgot. I honestly had forgotten as well, too busy gaping at what Ben was doing. 😄
Kush’s presence through this whole thing just made it all so much fun & chaotic 😂 also Kush really needs to brought into PIO as Ben is too overstretched with these challenges on his own (Barry hasn’t been much use so far).
So in the big clear out of the Sortedfood studio someone decided to throw out the rice cooker but decided that the coconut shredder was worth keeping? Can’t wait to hear the reasoning behind that decision. 😂
I absolutely love pass it on. Even the music makes me happy. I think everyone should overlook Ben not using a gadget, as he pretty much did everything single handedly. He deserves a 10.
Barry summing up everyone's work thus far with his own evaluation, with Ben immediately coming in like the night shift: "wtf did they do ALL DAY!?!" This episode was cathardic 😂
Having a stressful day, freezing cold (which never helps you moods) and time is running away from me. But I’ve made time to watch this to cheer me up. As it’s a PIO, I know I’ll be cheered up in no time!
Barry is most responsible. As a "sous chef" he proportionately did the worst of the three, and had he held up his end of things Ben would have had a bit less panic and more than likely remembered his torch.
I disagree… Granted Barry did not do well at all his turn either. However considering everything he was not most responsible because that was on Mike. Barry had to clean up Mike failed attempt at a Macaroon. Also Barry found the steak that Mike try to hide and save it by cooking the steak even more in a pan. Also Barry had the worst gadget because Kush and him didn’t even know how to use the popcorn thing. So it was already going to be a failed from the start…
This PIO was a roller coaster from start to finish! 😆 The concept was great, kept everyone on their toes, plus gave us an excuse to have Kush on camera too! 😁 Ebbers was a whirlwind as usual, bringing everything together as is his norm. Truly a great episode and one I know I'll be rewatching. 🥰🤣

So glad you guys kept the intro to pass it on. Whenever i hear the music and then "Where's the dish!?" i know i'm in for a fun time :P Also Kush on safety is like James May as navigator. xD
This may have worked better with longer times than normal. Mostly to reduce panic when using some fairly dangerous items. Also didn't think the gadgets picked would also shoe-horn ingredients, which probably tanked chances the hardest.
I was thinking that too, an extra 5 mins per turn for this format would have made it slightly more workable. And/or I would suggest if they picked their gadgets first, before they all trooped out, this could have aided the process a bit. Maybe. Hard to tell with this lot. I've never laughed so hard at any episode so it's a pass from me!
That would probably work best. I like the chaos of pass it on, but this definitely needs to be controlled chaos. The popcorn maker is a potential bomb, and the coconut grinder is one of the most terrifying things they ever used. Weird scenario where the sous vide gun is the least threatening item used in the entire video.
That was absolute chaos and I'm sooo here for it! 😂 Mad respect for Ben for pulling that off! I wonder what the outcome would have been if Ben and Kush would have switched places tho.. 😂😂😂
I love how the "safety advisor" Kush uses the terrifying coconut shredding machine, and leaves the "stove" burning wide open in the kitchen after using the also terrifying popcorn machine unsucessfully. "My job is done" ;-). Its like he is an unsafety advisor ;-).
Okay, now that the cooking is done, I have to say that Ben was really extremely good in this one. Amazing what he did in 10 minutes. He should have scored himself a 10.
Absolutely stunning turn-around by Ben in the last 10 minutes. I honestly thought it wouldn't be possible to make ANYTHING out of this, seeing how things had been started, forgotten, tossed aside, or just messed up. 10/10 for Ben's ability to turn things into edible stuff and even more so for using the stuff the boys had done before him (excluding Barry's failed popcorn) In my heart, that's a PASS

With this theme, they each should have gotten 20 minutes at least
Kush was HILARIOUS but... OMFG I had a panick attack when he nearly got his arm shredded by the coconut machine
Absolutely loved watching Ben bust his butt in the kitchen.
Fantastic job.
i have been watching the show for years now, but i'll never not be amazed at ben killing it in 10 minutes - pro
That was absolute chaos and I'm sooo here for it! 😂
Mad respect for Ben for pulling that off!
I wonder what the outcome would have been if Ben and Kush would have switched places tho.. 😂😂😂
Yes, a pass it on with dangerous kitchen gadgets ! I bet that will be a lot of fun to watch, thank you boys and Janice ;-).
ENJOY 😁
I love how the "safety advisor" Kush uses the terrifying coconut shredding machine, and leaves the "stove" burning wide open in the kitchen after using the also terrifying popcorn machine unsucessfully. "My job is done" ;-). Its like he is an unsafety advisor ;-).
@@swissfoodie3542_REACHES ACROSS THE RAPIDLY SPINNING BLADES OF_ the terrifying coconut machine, I think you'll find🤣🤣
Okay, now that the cooking is done, I have to say that Ben was really extremely good in this one. Amazing what he did in 10 minutes. He should have scored himself a 10.
That was definitely a sorted food FUBAR of epic proportions, how Ben ever got two dishes out of that is crazy.
This is gonna be PURE chaos and i love it! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
agreed this is gunna be great
Absolutely stunning turn-around by Ben in the last 10 minutes.
I honestly thought it wouldn't be possible to make ANYTHING out of this, seeing how things had been started, forgotten, tossed aside, or just messed up.
10/10 for Ben's ability to turn things into edible stuff and even more so for using the stuff the boys had done before him (excluding Barry's failed popcorn)
In my heart, that's a PASS
I've just been doing a sorted binge - what a way to top it. Thanks guys!!
Amazing - enjoy!!
@@SortedFood I will all the more now!!!
