It's amazing how Mike wanted a Shepards pie, then Jamie wanted nachos but realized Mike wanted the Shepards pie, only for Barry to go BACK to the nachos...

I completely agree. He was saying that he was setting them up for failure by not picking a direction for the dish, but honestly I think he improved things by making a tasty but versatile contribution that the later guys could use to do most anything with. Has the dish that someone picked at the start ever made it all the way through? I think going overly specific in this format is a bad thing for the first person.
I did find it funny that all 3 of the guys added more spice to Jamie's rice crispies without tasting what was there first.

The fact that they tasted of anything other than Jollof seasoning is honestly a miracle
They used about a month worth of that seasoning between all 4 of them.
I think Ben needs to bat last every time. Watching him bring a dish together is magic.
the only problem with that is it would just be "chef makes dish with random ingredients" because he's the only one who doesn't even attempt to follow what anyone else was trying to do
This could be a new format... The guys tell him its a pass it on and hes going last... But instead of trying to make a dish they just put out random food bits and bring Ben in at the end to "save the day" as Barry put it. ❤

@@fionaclaphamhoward5876completely agree, nothing against Barry but I really think that Mike was robbed of a fair chance. Maybe they should do a yearly competition and each of the guys could have another chance to get the red apron.
I love Mike. I hope he continues to grow in confidence because he's learning a lot and he has good instincts.

Me too. I think he has been robbed time and time again during the chefs skills challenges to be honest. Barry is style over substance whereas Mike shows an understanding of food, tasting as he goes, logically thinking the dish through. He doesn’t get nearly enough credit IMO.

There needs to be some kind of challenge mechanism for the two normals to challenge Barry for the apron. Like a boxing belt kind of thing. A sous chef title fight if you will.
I love how Jamie comes in and does nothing except burn the rice crispies and decide on what dish to make without leaving any real clues to barry and rates himself 7+.
I was shocked he wasn't the highest scoring average because he always over rates himself!
@@Cressup true, Ben usually scores himself between 6-7.5 though, and Barry has had a few moments of clarity where he gave himself a terrible score.
Odd how they were the only thing Ben said was delicious.

His old method of scoring was literally giving himself a 10 then chip points out for each thing his consider a mistake

Usually Barry needs to go first or last. So he can't change anything and throw out everyone's work because he's first or because it's too late. Middle Barry is either "nah I'm throwing all this out and making a baked alaska" or "I'm gonna mope around because someone made salmon fish & chips."

This felt oddly retro, in the best of ways! Really loving this advent calendar style video schedule. You guys are beasts for prepping all of this content for us to enjoy throughout the month! Im starting off the new year with a subscription to the app, so im looking forward to cooking alongside the gang soon enough.
Another idea that I have, is when you guys do a grocery shopping challenge you make it to where one of the meals has to include a secret ingredient that might be given to you by a friend or a family member from coming over or random ingredient.
or the theme could be that you ordered your groceries using instacart and they gave you some random extras / substitutions
A Mike and Ebbers pass-it-on with Jamie and Barry in the middle to throw a wrench in the pot.
Mike: Is that melted, the cheese?
Barry: Is that watermelon?
Jamie: Why am I using a spoon for nachos

Just days ago the guys were competing in front of professional chefs and they all did so well. Then today Jamie burnt rice krispies and Barry scored himself around a 3. How are they the same people?😂😂😂
I think a fun Pass it On would be around Lent, come up with something like 10 categories of food, and each person has to give up a category, leaving only 5 to actually work with during the challenge. Little on the nose for a theme, but it'd create some chaos.
Every evening this December, I sit down with my dinner, or a cup of tea, relax and just enjoy this incredible Christmas gift of a new Sorted video. You have outdone yourselves
It has just occured to me how your opening credits are never annoying. There are so many channels where I preemptively rush to turn the volume down because the sound is too loud compared to everything else or I just need to fast forward through because of some aspect and I even skip the preamble because they can be a bit slow. Just a small detail, but nice. So far, Jamie looks like he's going to eat all the ingredients.
Please don't ever change that intro! I love it so much, it's iconic❤
I appreciate how high quality these every day a video has been. Usually when done by TH-camrs it's tends to be repeative but so far every video is different and entertaining.
Looking at the promo photo for "Snow Way Out" just reminds me of how grateful i am that Kush is in the camera facing portion of the team now.

I was waiting for this! I loved seeing the first jabs at Sous Chef Barry! The chefs had a hard time this episode of pass it on because of all the processed stuff but I think they'll do better next time. Also happy to see we brought back the score average's again, need more of that.
