- Mangal Prabhat Lodha, the patron saint of Lodha Group or Macrotech Developers, is reportedly India's richest builder. As per GROHE Hurun Real Estate Rich List 2018, the personal fortune of Mangal Prabhat Lodha is USD 3.8 billion. According to my calculations, that is INR 26,000 crore. That means more than INR 1,000 crore earned per year of Mangal Prabhat Lodha's 24 year career as an MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly). Or INR 750 crore earned per year of Mangal Prabhat Lodha's 35-year career as a builder.
Some questions are begging to be asked. Such as: how much of this 26,000 crore personal fortune was earned by forfeiting booking amounts of flat-buyers of Lodha Palava City, Lodha Upper Thane, Lodha New Cuffe Parade, Lodha World Towers, and other projects. And how much of it was earned by land deals involving the lands of farmers of Dombivli, Thane, Panvel, etc.

But Malabar hills residents are all stinking rich and most likely have inherited it or scammed their way to wealth. They are mostly of the Gujrati/marwari/sindhi background and all very closely knit.

The problem is even buyers refrain from taking legal actions against the builders even if they are cheated or are provided with substandard products. Middle class or upper accepts whatevr is thrown on them as their destiny n fate. Although our legal system is oudated n biased towards powerful but unless we strts confronting these scamsters, thry will not stop.The story is same everywhere.

Till this date always had one question in mind, as to why builders have this practice of mentioning some portion of any room as "ENCLOSED BALCONY" after watching I guess it must be to avoid paying the premium to the Corporation for the FSI as mentioned in this video. Profiteering is gone at such extent that in a 10X10 bedroom carpet 4 X4 is mentioned as enclosed balcony !! How authorities can bluff with our common sense ! Mr Rao, I am in awe of your courage and bravery. I moved back to Mumbai after living overseas to be a part and contribute to India. But the harassment, the corruption and cheats and thuggery from builders, lawyers, govt. employees, society members with 'contacts' to taxi drivers, electricians etc etc made me suicidal and I almost killed myself. Now with the oncoming water crisis, I thank the heavens I could move out of that country.

Sir, you clearly don't have knowledge about real estate and money. Mr Lodha's net worth is not made out of yearly earnings but instead he is a very smart investor in real estate. 30 years ago if you buy a land in mumbai it will appreciate by hundread times at present. Also you are ignoring his success as a real estate tycoon. He is one of the biggest builder equivalent to DLF's Khushal Pal Singh who is also a billionaire. So, don't accuse someone that the made this money out of corruption from Politics. MLAs don't earn much even if they keep all of the funds in their pocket they will never come close to builders like Lodha and DLF. He made his fortune by investing in real estate which indeed is the best avenue at Mumbai in India. Also as far as i know he was in ABVP from a very young age so maybe that's why he choose to serve people by becoming an MLA. I have seen lots of Builders in my city in Delhi-NCR they hardly give a damn about politics because they are already very well off. So, don't accuse him of corruption. Second you said he has access to Parliament, PM and CM dude BJP is in power from 6-7 years but he was a builder from 30 years so don't connect these two things. He was a Lawyer who turned Builder than decided to contest Election.

Sir it's simple. In one of the interviews they said 7000 units and soon 10k units. From 2 lacs to 6lacs max on an average if we take 3lacs. Then 240cr per year just that from post 100% paid amount. Plus plus.
Btw. You are still only questioning his company earnings and builder earnings. This report is about his personal wealth that is his salary as a builder or as salary as politician. Not as company profits. This is not about company NET worth or profits. So. 26000cr. 750cr. Cr. Per year how can that be someone's salary per year. Where are the expenses? Khana peena tv ac fridge these are expense of normal middle class.
His income is not 26000 cr but he is worth that much. Worth is his assets created over the years. These two are different concepts.
