The Golden Age of Brendan Fraser.
One other person mentioned but BEDAZZLED is a GREAT Brendan Fraser title and there are almost no reactions to it on TH-cam.
One of my favourite Brendan Fraser movies is Encino Man (1992) which nobody ever seems to remember or mention but he is hilarious in.
Added to my list, thanks for the suggestion.
I haven’t seen that movie since I was a little kid. I think I’ll have to watch that sometime this week
I hope you'll watch the sequel, The Mummy Returns. Same cast, more adventure & action! It's very good as well.
Added to my list, thanks for the suggestion.
@@AwesomeUSMoviesalso The Scorpion King starring The Rock is a Prequel to The Mummy.
I hope you will consider watching the Brendan Frasier movie called "Blast from the past ". Also starring Christopher Walken, Sissy Spacek and Alicia Silverstone. An amazing comedy, fallout before fallout.
Actually I already did. It's only on Patreon. It will get an edit one day.
You would love Brendan Fraser in Bedazzled it's hilarious. Must watch.
Hilarious movie. And then there's Liz Hurley in her absolute prime. I remember all her outfits throughout the movie. Definitely a must-watch.
Brandon Fraser who played the main hero Rick O'Donnell won the 2022 Oscar for Best Actor for the movie "The Whale". He made a huge comeback in his career the last couple of years after his career pretty much died between the mid 2000s and now after a string of movie flops and some personal stuff in his life.
Rick O'Connell*
He was blacklisted by Hollywood and made a return for a friend ❤
Best movie ever, no contest.
A bit of trivia, the hanging scene was real. Someone made a mistake and he was actually strangled, Fraser said it caused permanent neck problems for him.
WHAT???? Holy hell how? Like somebody got sued and fired!
@@AwesomeUSMoviesidk if anyone got fired or sued but Brendan Fraser did stop breathing and they had to resuscitate him

Show me a bad Brendan Fraser... I'll wait
Bedazzled is one of my favorites! So funny!
George of the Jungle is pretty funny too
Actually I already did Blast from the Past. It's only on Patreon. It will get an edit one day.
Bad Brendan Fraser movie 🤔 cant think any. Then again , Fraser is like The Rock, he's charisma makes any movie worth watching.. atleast once.
Other Brendan Fraiser movies definitely worth a watch. George of the Jungle, Blast From the Past, and Bedazzled.
Actually I already did Blast from the Past. It's only on Patreon. It will get an edit one day.
@AwesomeUSMovies Cool. Look forward to seeing your reaction. Still, keep George of the Jungle in mind. It's got a silly, innocent, goofiness that few movies can reach.
7:46 Mischega is Yiddish for "craziness".
If you liked this movie the sequel is good with lots of callbacks or if you want a familiar face check out Blast from the Past(1999) it's pretty awesome
Actually I already did Blast from the Past. It's only on Patreon. It will get an edit one day.
Fun fact the actor who played Winston was Dr Bombay from the tv series Bewitched
The Mummy is from 1999 and the graphics were phenomenal for that time. Most hold up today!
The actor who played O'Connell, is the main actor in a movie called "George of the jungle " a tarzan comedy. Hes got the wild hair and cute grin 😂 haven't seen much of it, wonder how many people remember it. I had it on vhs
George of the Jungle is another great Brendan Frasier movie
The Mummy is one of my favorite movies. I love Rachel Weisz as the brainy, beautiful leading lady, Brendan Fraser as the adventurous man of action, and Arnold Vosloo as the chief villain. Also, they did get the mummification practices correct when Evelyn described how ancient Egyptians removed people's brains (minus a slight omission): The embalmers used the hook to also punch a hole in the person's skull so the brain drained out when they were rolled over. And I always get jumpscared when Jonathan is toying around in that damned sarcophagus, no matter how many times I've seen the movie.
Side trivia:
1. In the scene introducing her as Ankh-su-namun, model/actress Patricia Velásquez was completely naked with the exception of a loin cloth, a few pieces of jewelry, pasties & body paint (body paint took four hours to apply).
2. Brendan Fraser revealed on a recent episode of “The Kelly Clarkson Show” that he had a near-death experience during a stunt gone wrong while filming “The Mummy.” The Oscar winner said he was “choked out accidentally” during the scene in which he had to be hanged from the gallows in the Egyptian prison, which resulted in him being resuscitated by on-set medical personnel.
3. In the desert race to Hamunaptra, you see camels and horses. Horses are faster (on flat land), but camels are adapted to life in the desert. Even though they do eventually have to eat and drink, camels can live off the fat reserves inside their humps, their long eyelashes keep dust out of their eyes, and their feet are big and wide to keep them from sinking into the sand as they move.
4. After Evelyn unknowingly awakens Imhotep by reading The Book Of The Dead (which is actually a funerary scroll in real life) and the locust swarm flies into the encampment at Hamunaptra, the locusts crawling on the Egyptologist are actually grasshoppers that were refrigerated to make them sluggish. On a similar note, the scarabs in real life were merely dung beetles, not vicious flesh eaters.
14:43 Camels actually match horses in speed in short bursts.
Agreed but that didn't look like a short run.
Camels are designed to run on sand. Horses, not so much.
School Ties (1992) is another great Brendan Frasier movie.
Great movie. This is a fun adventure movie. They don't make movies like the anymore . The last fun adventure movie is Prince Of Persia 2010. The Mummy 2 is also a good movie but the third one is horrible. The modern remake with Tom crusie is very different but it is decent and more horror. You should also see Blast from the Past and School Ties with Brandon Fraser. Also The National Treasure movies (Both movies you saw only one). Fyi Brandon Fraser almost died from the rope hanging scene
Yeah, third Mummy was a disapointment. I did like the first part of the movie but the end.. 👎 and the cast wasnt as it was anymore, huge minus! Tom Cruise's Mummy 🤢 horrible!
Fraser is talented actor though, he can do action, drama and comedy. Blast from The Past sure is fun romcom.
What comes to adventure movies with sand Prince of Persia was good movie. Also, Scorpion King (2002) is fun action adventure, worth to watch even the character felt stupid in Mummy Returns (2001).
Actually I already did Blast from the Past. It's only on Patreon. It will get an edit one day.
@@DVDhoarder I was looking forward for the Mummy 3 because it had Jet Li but they completely misused him on the other hand when I first saw The Mummy remake with Tom Cruise I did not like it but with time it grow on me even tough it was so different for this Mummy movie.
Fraser’s George of the Jungle is also adorable.
Sitting here rotting or boredom and booze guy- he has been in so much stuff! I see him on reruns of Hogan’s Heroes where he comes in as a recurring guest playing Colonel Crittenden.
It wasn’t always a desert, just like Easter Island, all the trees were cut down to make the monuments, then it turned to desert. Just like Easter Island had mudslides which moved the Moai and covered them up to their necks.
If a Mummy bites you, you don't turn into a mummy. Not the same as a zombie 😂😂😂
Depends on the game, in WarSaga a Mummy's disease touch will curse and rot you to undeath if you don't get the curse removed.
@@paulschuckman6604that's a game though. We're talking about real life mummies and zombies
@@dannykent6190 Yeah, we can't be mixing up reality with video games. That'd be a BIG mistake lol.
4:23 it was more oil (flammable liquid of some type) then wood. If I'm not mistaken the torches were oil soaked cloth wrapped around the top of a (if not wood possiblely clay) pole. Lasts longer if done properly ( not that they did it for this movie)
I'll never forget the first time I saw this movie. My parents and I had just walked out of a movie when they suggested sneaking in to watch The Mummy, something we've never done before or since 😂 I couldnt tell you what we watched beforehand because this movie rocks and a core memory of my parents doing something naughty 😂
You would love the 2007 movie Stardust.
Brendan Frasier is one of my favorite action actors. If you have time I reccomend Journey to the center of the earth with him. A very fun ride.
Noticing your shirt, being from Alamogordo I grew up with White Sands essentially in my front yard. We moved away my junior year of high school and I've always wanted to move back to that part of the country.
I love that you know Brendan Fraser for one of his lesser known roles 😂 hea a fantastic actor who worked a lot in the 90s but was blacklisted after being sexually assaulted. He was more recently in The Whale!
With Honors is a great movie with the same lead actor
Added to my list, thanks for the suggestion.
I love that movie!
Simply a great movie.
I had school cancelled the day this movie came out. My family went to the movies instead and saw this.
It will always hold a special place in my heart.
Great movie! James you need to watch The Mummy Returns, personally I think it’s better than the first, more kicking some ass! Same cast as well!
So great! I rewatch at least once a year. 😊
Man this movie is great. One of the few movies that both my wife and me enjoy to watch from time to time.
They're the Magi.
Love your Moose Mug
I know right! It's one of my favs.
Love this series, so underrated!
Love love LOVE this movie !!!!! The special effects!!
Great reaction! I knew you’d love it! You’ve been so giggly lately. 😎 You exude happiness & joy
Thank you so much!!
Please do "Blast from the Past"! Brendan Fraiser is amazing in it and it the rest of the cast is also great.
The Mummies are my all time favorites, been a long time since I've watched them. Glad to get somewhat of a rewatch again, with such enjoyable reaction, you really bring the joy into the reactions xD
❤🩹The Mummy & The Mummy 2!!! 3 not so much - Love Brendan Fraser in Encino Man -George of the Jungle -Blast from the Past

Totally forgot Journey to Center.... very entertaining silly adventure film.
@@AwesomeUSMovies good news!
i really recommend you
- Blast from the Past (1999)
underrated!
The mummy is one of my all time favorite movies can’t even count how many times I’ve seen this over the years, they just had their 25th anniversary and I got to see it in the theaters with my family I had a blast !!
Great reaction, James. This was so much fun watching with you. Best comment ever “he doesn’t know English” 😂😂😂😂. Thanks for great time.
Glad you enjoyed it
The second and third ones are very good
Misiver is a fancy word for mess.😅
The skeleton fights here are more than likely a tribute to the famous skeleton battle in "Jason and the Argonauts" (th-cam.com/video/H-pw7Nw6y4I/w-d-xo.html), stop motion animated by Ray Harryhausen, one of the pioneers of creature animation. Here's the tiniest snippet from a documentary on his work, narrated by Leonard Nimoy, aka Mr. Spock from "Star Trek": th-cam.com/video/m7gfhf9-NMw/w-d-xo.html
Great reaction James to a very enjoyable popcorn movie Cant believe this movie came out in 1999 feel so old now im 43
Actually in Eypt the desert was all green untill the great flood swept across the north part of africa. Also in the north part of africa is where Atlantis was in the EYE of the saraha region.
Such a good movie. Another Fraser movie to look at would be Encino Man
Check out Brendan Fraser in _Gods and Monsters_ (1998) with Ian McKellen (Gandalf).
Having watched your vids for a while now, if you enjoy Brenden Fraser I think you'll really enjoy his movie George of the jungle! Its such a kind, funny and wonderful movie!
Added to my list, thanks for the suggestion.
The graphics are REALLY good in this one considering that it's much older than you guessed. It's not at all from around 2010. This adventure masterpiece came out already in 1999! Yep, it's a 90-ees movie!
A librarian.
Best line in the movie 😊 ps I work at the library of congress
Love this movie.
If you like Brendan Fraser watch a movie he did with Joe Pesci called With Honors. It was a tear jerker. Also watch the Mummy Two, it's actually just as good the first.
Added to my list, thanks for the suggestion.
No more goat soup!
Locust, blood, fire from sky, disease, flies, eclipse...
Please watch THE MUMMY from thec1930s with Boris Karloff.
Brandon is fab check George of Jungle, California Man and Bedazzled xx
Not crickets. Locusts. The first plague.
Encino Man is a great classic Brendan Fraser movie released betw this and Airheads - you'll recognize one or two of the other actors as well 🍻
Encino man was called California man in the UK
@@nothernmonkey8612 makes sense as it takes place in Encino, California.
BRO thats not what a mummy is a mummy has kids and takes care of the house hold
I love the first 2 Mummy movies! The 2nd one is also really good! ❤ Rick and Evie are couple's goals.
I was introduced to Brendan Fraser in School Ties. Underrated emotional movie. Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Chris O'Donnell, & a ton of character actors are in that!
Great reaction 🙂I hope you'll react to the sequel as well, that's even better if you ask me..
Good to know thanks
Love this movie ❤😊
Please watch "The Mummy 2" 🙂
May I recommend Encino Man (1993).
Fakushka Anaksunamun
I always love watching your reactions! You’re nothing but good vibes! Thanks for letting us watch with you!
Of all of Brendan Fraser's iconic roles, you recognize him as the guy from Airheads... that's... that's something special.
watch the second one soon. its good fun.
My favorite bit of trivia that I THINK was present in the novelization (so earlier shooting script) but not the movie is the reason why Imhotep says Ankh Su Namun's name on first seeing Evenlyn is because he actually couldn't see her clearly. He took Burns' eyes so he's still partially blind without glasses.
Always consider this movie very Indiana Jones like.
I love how he got it right, at first, then after the opening was like "Probably not like an Indiana Jones movie". Like, no, very much so like Indiana Jones lol.
I was pretty back and forth on that one. But NO not like Indiana Jones
@@AwesomeUSMovies lol I'm curious to hear, if you have the time, what things made it significantly different enough? I think most people tend to say "If you like [this one] then you'll like [the other one]". You're the first I've heard say they're not alike, and I'm curious what changes would've had to be made to this, in your eyes, to make it like Indiana Jones? Was it the tone? The subject matter?
I think the main thing I can think of is that the leads, Indy and Rick, have different motivations. One is driven largely by a curiosity for history because they have a passion for it, and the other more for personal reasons like simply trying not to get killed lol. And yeah, The Mummy definitely leans far more into the comedy than Indiana Jones. But they're both dealing with mystical history with action and comedy intertwined.
Indiana Jones wishes he had O'Connells charm/swagger
The Mummy kinda marks the end of the 80s/90s 'pulp revival'. Starting with Raiders of the Lost Ark and ending with The Mummy is rather fitting as they both draw inspiration from old adventure serials (expeditions, artifacts, curses, etc) and center on Egypt.
For more of this throwback era - The Phantom, The Shadow, The Rocketeer, and The Mask of Zorro
Some 'pulpy' literary adaptations - Congo (based on the Michael Crichton novel), King Solomon's Mine & Allan Quartermain and the Lost City of Gold (both with Sharon Stone and based on the novels of H Rider Haggard)
The Rocketeer is great
This came out in 1999
React to Mummy 2!
Would you consider starting a book-channel?
Actually I really would but I already have two channels and that's about all I can take. I will be talking about book stuff on my live stream 6/15 at 6pm CST
ALSO why does the city only revealed by sun??? and doesnt make sense.
Your comment of water into wine as a plague of Egypt made me laugh. 😊
Fires like that are often made using either oil, or dried dung from camels and other animals. Coal and charcoal would often be carried from the banks of the Nile and other settlements.
I have not seen this movie in a long time, it was great, it was like seeing it for the first time all over again.
You should watch George of the Jungle. That’s a fun one with him.
If you like airheads with Brandon check out California Man
One of my favorite scary movies as a kid was Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy. It was already an old movie then, but lots of fun!
Pls react to brendan fraser bedazzled... one of my fav comedy movie
Added to list thanks
❤the lead Brendan Frasier in Encino Man 1992 is hilarious.
Added to my list, thanks for the suggestion.
No wheezin the juice guy is in this too lol
My favorite Brandon Fraser movie after the whale of course is "school Tues" I think you'd like it😊
Brendan Fraser really actually almost died in the hanging scene. He was left hanging from the platform too long and went unconscious.
Yes The Mummy! An unexpected treat this Friday yay! 😁
Egypt had acacia and sycamore trees. I think wood for building was imported from Byblos in Lebanon.
This is an AMAZING movie and has always been so much fun to watch (no matter how many times I’ve seen it - it never gets old). Blast from the past and Encino Man are two more movies that Brendan Fraser are in that I have always enjoyed, as well! Thanks for another great reaction! 😂😅😊
Actually I already did Blast from the Past. It's only on Patreon. It will get an edit one day.
You are so much fun to watch James keep up the great content 🙂😁👍
Ian
(from the united kingdom)
The Mummy " 1959 was better Christopher Lee
Peter Cushing
Ahem. Of course mummies and zombies are different. Mummies have a disease touch and can only be turned by a lvl 4 cleric or above while zombies can be turned at 1st level and have not special attacks. .
Mummy loot > Zombie loot
One of Brenden's best movies is George of the Jungle. It was taken from that Saturday morning cartoon and it is GREAT
⛄'🔪
While you're at it, you should watch the original 1933 film with Boris Karloff.
Camels are actually quite fast and on sand, have the advantage over horses. Some race camels, they can reach 40mph.
this movie was followed by 2 sequels and then a remake with tom cruise.
imohotep was played by Arnold Vosloo. He is most notable for playing Darkman in the the movie sequels darkman II and III. A part that was originated by Liam Neeson. Darkman is another movie you should watch.
This movie hs some elements of the Indiana Jones movies with the humor and adventure.
