Iga deserves to be no.1 in the world. She demolished all three women in her group like they were never meant to be inside the top 10 (just like Serena). I hope she beats Sabalenka and wins this tournament. Iga's only kryptonites are Rybakina, Krejcikova, and Ostapenko. I think she can manage to beat Rybakina as she was close in Rome but eventually retired.

I would say extremely well, I don’t see much of chances for Saba to win. The last point, the drop shot against the master of the drop shots was just like the dot on the i.
She hits with more spin then most of the ladies so will be less effected by the wind. Conditions suit her.

Iga is playing at the highest level of her career and is hitting harder to her spots. I almost get the sense that she’s upset she’s not no 1 and wants it back whenever she can get it. She will beat Sabalenka in straight sets.

Playing WTA final in such terrible condition is a huge humiliation for the best players of the year. They definitely deserve a better place to show their efforts and talents. Watching this highlights is heartbreaking because the tournament looks like a small challenger which is hosted in the center of a hurricane.

I agree with your comment on the horrible conditions for a tennis match and organization being on a par with a challenger level tourney. BUT this match was a masterclass in how to play in windy conditions! By both, actually. And these highlights showcase that :) finally, we got to see some beautiful point construction from both! Though we saw some of that in Saba-Rybka match too :) excited for the semies 🎉
WTA are greedy c...s. The finals could be run in the Czech Republic in Ostrava where WTA 500 was hosted but the proposal was rejected.

Iga Swiatek proved in this match once again why she is the best tennis player on tour. She wasn't phased by Jabeur's dropshots and by extremely bad weather conditions. It seems nothing can phase Iga Swiatek right now. She might win this tournament without dropping single set if she will keep this up. I will be rooting for Iga Swiatek to finally win against Aryna Sabalenka in WTA Finals.

I don't know who is responsible for those highlights. The gap between Świątek and Jabeur in this particular match was HUGE. Świątek literally broke Ons, but on this video we see them playing equally - almost point for point. It's not fair and it shouldn't be named "a highlight". Maybe "I choosed few parts of match and sticked it together".

The decision to host this event in Mexico is absolutely ridiculous. Stadium built at the last minute, terrible weather conditions, no roof, bad surface, small audience watching the matches. And Mexico is a country where tennis is not that popular. Well done WTA!
Anytime the WTA goes to Mexico, the crowds are usually pretty good - Guadalajara especially. I think the lack of audience here is due to both the weather and the short notice. Cancun wasn't announced as the WTA Finals location until very late and the stadium wasn't even completed until days before play started.

Gra znowu na swoim bardzo wysokim poziomie. I potrafiła pokazać w tym meczu Jabeur, że potrafi też grać skróty. Co więcej, potrafiła nim zakończyć całe spotkanie. Praca nóg, zaangażowanie, gra forhendem i bekhendem na najwyższym poziomie. Jest kandydatką do zwycięstwa. NIe lekceważyłbym też Peguli, bo ograła i Sabalenkę i Rybakinę i też gra bardzo dobrze na tych kortach w Meksyku.
The showcase event to have such difficult conditions is making it really hard for players and the event to shine. This event should definitely be played indoors - like it was done non-stop from 1974 to 2007 and then from 2011 to 2019. Felt like torture watching players struggle whole match (not highlights).

Ons had 0 chance in this tournament after US Open she went to San Diego, the next week to Gaudalajara the following week she was in China where she bounced from Ningbo to Pekin then Zhengzshou. She couldnt even play in Tunisa, a tournament made just for her. Someone in her camp should have put their foot down really
