Can you play Double Dragon on AES/MVS mode (normal difficulty) choose Jimmy and not get a black flashing glitch around the 3/4th CPU stage? My board is a JP 3-5 recapped with a good Triad 9V 2.5A PSU on a stock bios and I'm trying to get to the bottom of why mine glitches. This is using a new NEOSD Pro from the this years (2024) batch using all flash slots, RAM slot, numerous SD cards of sizes and speed, cleaned the slot with IPA. It's a minor glitch and every other game is fine but it's annoying not knowing what causes it but was advised it could occur on the last batch of 2018. Thanks

Thank you for your reliable knowledge. You mentioned that if you mode your AES that the bios and AES/MVS option is darken out. Would that mess up your selection on games? Being you did mention between credits and sensoring.
Adding a unibios doesn’t mess up anything with the game selection. Rather than selecting the region in the NeoSD menu you just switch this setting in your unibios menu instead!

I know this is an odd question, but can you play SVC Chaos using this? also thank you so much for the thorough review. Really thinking about picking this up for the MVS.
The unibios is a modification to the Neo Geo system that allows you to switch the different regions and/or system modes of original game cartridges. But its not a flash device like the neosd. It does not store any rom files or games on it. So while they both share the ability to change these settings, at the end of the day the neosd is just a flash cartridge that you can have all your games stored on and the unibios is just a chip on the motherboard of the neogeo which tricks it into thinking it’s either a Japanese console or American console. TheEvilMilkshake yup your exactly right. the only reason to have a unibios is if you are playing original aes carts. Like in my case all the games I’ve collected I’m stuck playing in Japanese. I actually have a unibios ready to install I’ve just been debating to do it or not now that I have the neosd. If I end up installing it I’ll make a video!
Please help. I accidently put my Neo SD into cartridge mode and can't get out back to the menu. I'm stuck on one game, does anybody know how to get out of this? I am really scared that I permanently screwed it up. EDIT** I fixed my problem, if you create a cfg file called "reset.cfg" and stick it onto your SD card with your games, it will bring you back to the main menu. This boot loop problem should be more known, just trying to get the word out. Thanks!
Hi Mike, thanks for the cheat files. However I noticed some cheat doesn't work. For example, in Blazing Star, whenever i access the cheat menu, it soft reboot the system. Some games work, such as metal slug, aof, etc. Do you face the same issue, any solution appreciated. tq
Am I misunderstanding what this cart is capable of doing based on what you said in your introduction? I was under the impression that You could put an SD card of varying size into this, such as 8GB, 16, 32....whatever. And then I was under the impression that you could load however many games you wanted onto the cart to fill that space.. But at the intro of your video you say "only 4 games at a time" and that they "disappear when you turn of the console"? What's the deal with that?
Yes you can store the whole game library on one SD card. (I believe it can’t be larger than 32 gig because it has to use the fat32 format.). What I meant was that you can flash 4 games at a time that are then stored directly on the cartridge, ready to be played immediately without having to flash the game each time. These flash carts are not instantaneous like a NES flash cart. Some games take some time to load up, so it’s a nice feature to have them already on there ready to go. There is also another way to load a game that doesn’t flash it permanently to the cart, but loads it much quicker as a trade off. Hope this helps.
I don’t have the darksoft cart so I can’t really compare. However I did research both before committing and I’m super happy with my choice. The neo sd Pro is quality stuff, no BS and it works. Every time. Not like darksoft which I hear has has al kinds of glitches with certain games. The reason being I bought an SSDS3 (for PC Engine) last year from them, and there has been quite a bit of controversy regarding them selling a faulty product and straight up lying about certain aspects of the device... I'm willing to give them a second chance, just didn't want a repeat on what happened with that.

I'm probably going to go with the NeoSD pro, but I'm still very dissapointed in Terraonion because of the whole SSDS3 debacle and me having to pay hundreds more dollars to just make the device work as it should- hence my hesitation in purchasing this product from them.

@@mike7599 I got into it as well and theres a file called puzzle de pon thats supposed to be the street fighter 2 rom but when i used the neo builder to convert it it converted to the actual puzzle de pon rom, so I believe it was taken down! If i ever run into it i'll let you know!
I can only speak for myself, I have an older 5 volt Neo geo and have never had an issue using the stock PSU. Works like a charms. But I have read in forums people saying they needed a stronger power supply. So I’m not sure. It may depend on the version Neo Geo you have. Either way they are easily available if you did run into a problem. Your dead on. But to be honest with you I never could find any info on it. I remember researching neo flash carts and literally couldn’t even find a website that was selling it. This was like 2 years or so ago. So it kind of fell off my radar. Then all of a sudden, like the last two weeks or so, other youtubers like madlittlepixel started dropping videos about it. Hi, great video. So, if I understand correctly, if we play the mvs version it is not possible to use the credits from the coin mechanism because they will be infinite. But are they read? Does anything change if we play with the multicart version for MVS? are the credits infinite? Can we use the coin machine? Thank you
You can use credits. Playing a game in mvs mode will be identical to using the original mvs cartridge. The coin mech from your arcade machine will work to add credits or whatever button you have assigned to mimic adding credits. You only have infinite credits if you set your mvs hardware to free play. What I meant in the video was that as long as you keep adding credits you can keep playing whereas with AES you can’t add credits. Hope this answers your question.

There were 3 Neo Geo games released that allowed you to hook up multiple cabinets (or consoles) for additional players. League bowling, thrash rally and riding hero all had a 3.5 mm jack on the cartridge to link them to other carts.

Henry Lim yes if you can find the correct rom sets. I’ve had terrible luck with this! I have only gotten only one or two games to work successfully. It is very very picky with the roms you use. Hey David. I use a custom built power supply 5v 5Amp. But not because of the NeoSD. This was from back when I was using a magic key mvs to aes converter and I needed extra amps to run it correctly. Since then I’ve kinda just stuck with the 5 amp psu. I would assume the standard power supply would work fine? I guess I never thought about it! I’m happy to test it out the original psu with the SD pro and get back to you on it a little later in the week.

MAGACOP I haven’t yet, but I have been thinking about it. I did a video where I installed an 8 way octogate into a standard neo joystick thinking it would help but it actually made it harder for me to pull off special moves. Maybe I’ll build a controller from scratch my next video.

Had dealings with these guys before because of the Super SD that’s incredible however- This is the best thing console soft wise I’ve ever bought - simply worth every penny, if you’re more into playing original Roms than collecting it’s a nobrainer Thanks for a great vid mate .
I feel like real Neo Geo collectors can understand why it is priced so high because we know the market and we know how expensive trying to own a single game can be. On the flip side a casual fan is scratching their head saying “but the everdrive64 is like 100 bucks????” . So I guess it all depends on perspective. Yes. It will play any game as long as you provide the rom for it.
