This is an amazing meditation and really helped me to really feel into my body for the first time and learn to balance my masculine and feminine energies. Thank you for your work ❤😊
Brazilian here. Very interesting your definitions of masculinity and femininity. They remind me of Nietzsche's Apollonian and Dionysian concepts. Masculinity/Apollonian energy is concentrating, structuring, protecting and projecting; Femininity/Dionysian energy is dissolving, allowing, surrendering and sympathizing; Thank you for this guided meditation. It relaxed and taught at the same time. 😀
I'm not an expert, but the pursuit of the Apollonian state has a lot to do with the Yang force. The only difference is that the Yang describes the energetic, vital and active aspects of that pursuit, whereas the Apollonian describes the motivation behind that action. The Apollonian is about escaping nature and becoming sophisticated though surpressing the irrational and emotional. But once you're elevated, you start missing the meaningful and sensory experiences of life such as dance, freestyle art, carnal pleasure, food, risk-takingness, revolutionary attitude, etc., which are all associated with Dionysus.
And Nietzsche did not especifically associated Apollo with masculinity. Camille Paglia did. But, yeah, we can associate masculinity with rational and oriented movement towards order and femininity with liberation and releasing of surpressed impulses. But, again, I'm not an expert.
What a healing and enchanting meditation of words, visuals, and music! I needed to hear it. Yes, the unification of yin/yang or Shiva/Shakti is essential for healing! Many thanks, Matt!
Can you recommend a book that deals with the yin and yang duality as far as human personalities go? Such book seems rare to find. Where did you learn about that?
I don’t have a book but I did record a guided meditation that talks about this. It’s the masculine and feminine one: www.mattlandsiedel.com/guided-meditation/
Wow. I am a masculine presenting man. But, according to this, I have all feminine characteristics. I identify with both the wounded _and_ the divine feminine!
Thank you Matt! 💞
I am in a loving process of balancing ... and ... seeking to BE balanced in all I do☯️✨️

"Dissolving" is really what is being happening to gay men. We're asked to "go with the flow" while straight men are not asked to.

Yeah all guys do but we repress it because we have been programmed to feel shame for our feminine energy
