Red gem: Fire is a living thing, this gem allows to bring life to fire to your surroundings and yourself
Blue gem: Cold is but an illusion of ausence of heat, this gems allows to lower temperature, freezing foes in the process
Purple gem: Sanity may play games in your mind, this gems allows to see things that are not there and move things here and there
Green gem: Construction and destruction are on opposite sides of the same coin, this gems helps in creating our world efficiently
Yellow gem: Everything the light touches is it´s own kingdom, this gem illuminates the enviroment, keeping you safe in the process
Orange gem: Efficiency is nothing but saving resources to achieve the same goal, this gem helps in making tasks faster and easier
Iridescent gem: haha moon and ruin go br

Pick/axe: Doubly Useful

It's needs higher durability. At least luxury axe and pickaxe durability combined.
It would be usefull if we could make it with alchemy engine and do not need thulecite

It’s marginally useful if you are so late game that you have insane amounts of thulecite and don’t care about wasting it
I do velive the PickAxe should be a maybe a bit more expensive but infinite durability

You know, to combat that cycle, you can wear the bee queen crown and it will turn that insanity of -900 per minute into sanity +450 per minute (not even including shadow monster insanity) making insanity a thing of the past. Bee Queen also isn't absurdly hard to kill (not as bad as Toadstool), just barrage it with blow darts and boomerangs which are easy to make with a good Wickerbottom in the swamp/base during winter and Wigfrid in the desert for hounds, and if you are at the stage of using ancient science tab items, It can be a smart idea to place walls around the station. Physical shadow monsters cannot pass through walls, however those that are not manifested yet (due to low sanity, not nightmare lights) can. But more than likely, the shadows you'll encounter in the ruins are going to be physically real, which can blocked by most obstacles.

Beard. I watch all of your videos on repeat while im at work so i can listen and help myself get better. And as much as i watch and listen, i should be a god at this damn game and im not. I alway have alittle trouble starting off. After you are finished with this ruins series. Would you mind making a beginners guide to what you should do the first, say, 20 days? I love the game. But again, i start really sour and end up dying rather quickly and id like to experience more with the game. Thanks

My favorite is Wicker but I enjoy playing all of them to be honest!

I prefer Wickerbottom and Webber. I usually use Wickerbottom for shipwrecked worlds, as she can craft a row boat from the start, allowing you to get the resources in a few days for a row boat, thach sail, and boat torch. The only reason I play Webber is to get the easy silk.
Does the loot only come from destroying this science machine or can it come from rebuilding the others also?

Like the clockworks and nigtmare thing and the other structure or the guardian I think is becouse I am in console edition and I think klei don't update it alredy wormwood apeard like this month but thanks for the tutorial

Five uses is abysmal for the construction amulet. They should double it.

A part of me thinks that the Pick/Axe is a lowkey Terraria reference. Not sure though.
hint: Not only the amulet can pick up this gems surrounded by holes. But Wartox can teleport on those platforms. ( I know that this vid is quite old )

What do you recommend spending thulecite on ?
Construction Amulet should always be first and apart from the thulecite amulet, walls and the pick/axe everything has an important use.
I rush the ruins today for the first time, killed the Boss, repaired the Altar...but I can only create 8 recepies. No amulets, no staffs. I am saaaad :(
It's possible to have caves without any Ancient Pseudoscience Station ? I can't find any on my current map, all the map configuration is default. Is there any prerequisite ?
Hmm, interesting you bring this up as I have been seeing a ton of people mentioning the same thing as of late... there might be a problem arising...
@@TheBeard777 used godmode and gave myself some lazy explorer, searched for the whole cave. There is a very similar place like the one shown at 1:00, but no station. Also there is no monkeys, no broken clockworks.

If you're bringing rooks to the ACTUAL Pseudo-Science machine then you're not too smart...

It's in the ruins somewhere, I can't really help you find it as world generations are all different.
The ruins is inside the cave right? Sorry im newbie. I just played the game this month. Im hoping for more new exciting farming strats and updates.
Ah, okay then, makes sense now! Yes, in DST the entire caves system is one map and the ruins are a whole branch of biomes and such but in solo DS you need to enter the caves, find another sinkhole and then go down that one to get into the ruins!

In single version, you can find 5 pieces of the Maxwell's Portal and repair it. If you do this, current world will be erased and you teleported to the Adventure Mode, then SPOILERS.

Unfortunately the game has a tendency to not spawn several things, especially nowadays in the ruins itself.
