Maxwell’s utter confusion and comments of not knowing things are... almost eerie. He‘s not known about a good few new things by this point but just how utterly lost he is is really another step entirely. Really goes to show moon is a completely other side of Them. Or, maybe something not quite part of Them, but comparable.
Things are changing. All of maxwell's knowledge on the constant was either accumulated via observation during his time on the Nightmare Throne, or from his research of the Codex Umbra. He no longer has access to the power, knowledge, and control the throne gave him.
Yeah, the character quotes will give that away. I don't want to tell you guys everything, that defeats the idea of having fun and experiencing it yourselves.
The Dust Moths look so depressed. I wish I could pet them and cuddle them just to help make them feel happy for a moment. And their little cooing noises are just too precious!
The Astral Detecor is meant to lead you to the pieces of the 3rd Celestial Altar, when you place them at the correct spot it starts drilling into the ground and pops out a piece. Try placing the Celestial Altar, Celestial Tribute, and the new Celestial Altar close by, you'll find something very interesting. The Sealed Portal has no use yet, its purpose will probably be fulfilled in a future update.
I know that the mysterious energy spawns from all three altars being assembled but it still looks to do nothing for the time being. Also, and I'm sure it will be fixed for all soon but the detector thing keeps crashing the game on me - no matter where I place it.
If you read the quotes it hints that Wortox knows how to read the runes, and reads them quite easily. He also states that he shouldn't tell the mortals about the sealed portal prior to having the power turned on, meaning 3 things (or more).(1) That Wortox was there when the portal was sealed. (2) Wortox was an acquaintance or familiar of the ancients. (3) He had known about the sealed portal before Maxwell and the other survivors, meaning he has turned the power on before. [Note] This could also mean that the ancient language is universal, expanding across dimensions including the done where Wortox came from. Or that the Moon and the shadow creatures have a multidimension influence/reign and are not just tied to the Constant. (some evidence that may support this is that in the gorge there are also runes.) P.S. I hope Wortox teaches Maxwell how to read runes in a klei comic.
10:55 If you put the Astral detector down on the ground(not cave), it points to a specific location. Following this(like pipspook), you will find a new Celestial altar. When you build 2 more Celestial Altar on the Moon Island and obtained by killing Crab King, a mysterious sphere( 13:40 ) appears. I got this information from the Korean DS community.

@@Ofxzh "underwater caves" suggests that the cave is submerged. you're thinking of flooded caves, not "Go under the water of the ocean and there's a cave."
Maybe with the sentry boios we might be able to get a baby version of em, as a new hutch or a critter and possibly the moon version of clockwork followers.
This seems like a really interesting update! I really like the idea of renewable Thulectice, and it won't be too overpowered early game bc you need those pesky iridescent gems... It could be a lifesaver for those of us who just aren't going to be able to kill the Fuelweaver but need crowns still. That said, I do hope that there are more things to do while you wait for the moth things to finish cleaning everything, so that it's not just waiting around, and while I like the idea of reviving enemies, it could get really annoying if your world generates with quite a lot, so I hope there's a cap on it. Also, do you know if the nightmares killed by gestalts drop nightmare fuel, bc that could have some interesting uses for farming...
FYI-In Greek mythology, ambrosia was considered the food or drink of the Olympian gods, and it was thought to bring long life and immortality to anyone who consumed it.
I think in the puzzle on the floor involving the distilled knowledge, each circle represents a phase of the moon, (seeing as there are eight & there are statues with moons all over). Also each distilled knowledge can trigger a different phase/circle on the floor even though they look identical when you get them. You put a distilled knowledge on each circle on the floor & figure out the order you need to step on them by trial & error. Upon completing the sequence the center distilled knowledge opens to give you a crafting recipe, except it doesn't yet. I assume it is meant to give you the astral detector blueprint.
I hope we can save Charlie and Probably even PLAY as her! I wish Bought characters can be Earned for a VERY hard quest to obtain Wortox, Wurt, Wormwood
I have a feeling there is another huge event and more like the "Ancient awakening" and it feels like Klei might have a problem putting it since it is still under development, the portal feels like it needs a key and that "Mysterious Energy" you mention might be the key to power the Artifact.
If you wanted to make cobblestones Beard, would you rather walk all the way to a rocky biome, dig up turf, and head back to base than just craft the turf with rocks and flint?
I hope that the dust moths have more purpose later on and more content added to them as to me they seem to be very important to 'Them' being their source of thulcite.
It's amazing how klei always make great updates, those lunar caves are beautiful! The forgotten knowledge part is still incomplete but my gosh if it's amazing! But i must say thank you beard for your dedication, and for making me always smile, keep it up man!
It’s crazy, I just started playing (figured out) about this game a little over a month ago watching hundreds of tutorials and after further research finding out how old this game is, I was for sure that this game wasn’t that populated and was probably never gonna get anymore updates.. thankfully I was wrong and the DST servers seem pretty populated!! I can’t tell you how addicted I am to this game!!

Loving that the 3 big games of survival. (Minecraft, Terraria, Don't Starve) is having their big updates in this month. Still sad abt journey's end tho.
Craftable Turfs, particularly craftable Rocky Turf, means that there is no longer a limit to how much Cobblestone you can make, which means you can PAVE THE ENTIRE CONSTANT. Granted, you'd likely want to leave a patch or two of Lunar turf to keep a Stone Fruit Bush field, but otherwise it's now possible to enjoy that delicious speed buff EVERYWHERE, including the entirety of the Lunar Island and the Caves/Ruins. I wonder who'll do it first?
One last thing you missed is that the mushy cake will prevent you from sleeping, which is mostly useless but finally lets us fight Bearger outside of autumn.
I figured people would figure that out after eating it and seeing their character's unique quotes, I can't go spoiling everything - that ruins YOUR experience! :D

No matter the situation, the moon is a immensely powerful entity. The shadow and The light are now fighting and we are we spectators? Or will we be the neutral party who truly eviscerates all?
Anybody want a Lunar Hutch? Thuchelite Hutch? USEful pet? More Chester Transformations? More Mushroom Crock pot items? Using Salt Rocks for certian recipes? Certain foods should give, not game breaking but nice effects, Meatballs for Damage, Butter Muffins for extra butterflies, a Coconut crock pot recipes for Ship wreck, Ruined Centrypedes, in ship wreck a Under Water biome with a Drowning meter, being able to catch orbs of Life/Light to revive a Pile of Mech for all 3 mechs

We aren't sure yet, it's still in Beta. Previous updates have retrofitted lately however with the size of this guy I can't tell ya what will be what. That said, I have heard that a wormhole may be the thing that brings people to these new biomes in older worlds but I have not confirmed that.
That new Milkmade hat is going to be HUGE for Wolfgang players. If it gives hunger back at the cost of sanity, that's MASSIVELY overpowered. You could just keep him perma-mighty for an entire half a day and simply just annihilate anything in your path. Pair that with something like marble or thulcite armor and a Jellybeans to regen health, the guy will hardly lose any health at all and always keep doing 95-100% of his maximum damage CONSTANTLY.

The light-flower bugs will only follow you if you capture one of them via a big net and would stay until the captive has been released or deceased

I think the detector crashes the game whenever you hover your mouse on it while it is active

Nah, no nightmare fuel drop. I thought the same thing but it doesn't look like that'll happen - at least not for the time being.

Do we have to start a new game to get the new bioma?
We aren't sure yet, it's still in Beta. Previous updates have retrofitted lately however with the size of this guy I can't tell ya what will be what. That said, I have heard that a wormhole may be the thing that brings people to these new biomes in older worlds but I have not confirmed that.

Hmm, sorry to here, friend. I think while this update was phenomenal, it certainly brought some issues that are still giving folk grief for sure.
That new Milkmade hat is going to be HUGE for Wolfgang players.
If it gives hunger back at the cost of sanity, that's MASSIVELY overpowered. You could just keep him perma-mighty for an entire half a day and simply just annihilate anything in your path. Pair that with something like marble or thulcite armor and a Jellybeans to regen health, the guy will hardly lose any health at all and always keep doing 95-100% of his maximum damage CONSTANTLY.
I hope some ancient character will be added
