The Loxosceles tenochtitlan spider was recently found in Mexico, it has potent tissue-destroying venom, also the females are know to be twice as poisonous. Maybe you could make a split single stage poisonous spider Pokémon. Where the female it more offensive and the male it more bulky. It might be too similar to ariados, but I think it could be a neat idea. It’s also named after the city of Tenochtitlan so you can pull in some more Aztec influences.

Then, you could use the fish Pokémon from this region and use the same mechanic, assuming you will make a fish Pokémon. For a Steel Type, why not try a Pokémon based on gold..?
    Possible ideas:
Three stage evolution (base form- attracted to shiny things, 1st evo- decorates self to be unique among peers, final stage- decorates self to the point of gaudiness due to vanity)
All stages have “Au” included somewhere in their name
Has two main Formes, like Sinistea and Polteageist, Genuine and Pyrite (only difference is a VERY slight color difference, Pyrite is rarer)
Three possible abilities, Malleable (powerful physical moves shift stats, possibly 80 base power and above, must be hit by the move), Pickup, and the Hidden Ability, Accessorize (held item boosts stats, a series of gems could be found to give this Pokémon, each boosting a certain stat, certain items like Pearls or Nuggets of different sizes or a King’s Rock could also be used)...

For the dark type evolution, I agree with a lot of other comments I saw saying that it should evolve like that just by leveling up, it looks like the evolution by default.
But for the water/dark evolution I propose three things, going from the easiest to the hardest way to make it evolve:
    1. By giving it a water stone. You just need one, pretty common way of making Pokemons evolve.
    2. It evolve in its water/dark form only if it level up to a certain level in water. It would be harder to acquire because you'd need surf, or like in the last games, a Pokemon that can swim.
    3. For the last idea, if like in Ruby and Sapphire, there's a way to go diving, it'd be really cool if it evolved in this form only if it leveled up under water. Since it's a monster that's supposed to drag people in the deep waters it'd make sense. Though, These areas represent only a small part of the maps usually and you'd need a way to dive first.

The two evolutions could be based on nature, or based on friendship. For nature, the calmer natures could evolve into Zolupine (Which is why they have more groomed fur), and the more energetic and lively natures could evolve into Lupacabra. Or, playing into the Dex entry of Techuppi, if not taken care of (0-2 Friendship Level) it will evolve into Lupacabra, and Teppuchi with a 3-5 Friendship Level will evolve into Zolupine.

I've been working on a hybrid board game/card game for a while and I have a Pokemon based on the Poison Dart Frog called Dendribbit. It's Water/Poison type and it starts off as a tadpole raised inside the stomachs of Weepinbell or Victreebell; it's based on how many poison dart frogs raise their tadpoles inside of pitcher plants.
They come in a variety of colors - to mimic their real-life counterparts - but this just correlates to differences in base stats e.g. the red variant has a higher Attack, the blue variant has a higher Special Attack, the black and blue variant has a higher Defense, etc. They're primarily quadrupedal, but can stand on their hind legs to fire their blowgun, climb, or use their hands in battle.
The name is a mix of their family name _Dendrobatidae_ and the onomatopoeia "ribbit" a.k.a. the sound a frog makes. The tadpole/first stage is called Deniño/Deniña, which is a mix of _Dendrobatidae_ and niño/niña which is Spanish for boy/girl.
      Pokedex:
Dendribbit each carry a blowgun that they've crafted by hand, with accuracy honed by hunting prey like Cutiefly. In battle, they fire poisons secreted by their skin that are so toxic they can cause instant - sometimes permanent - paralysis.

For Lupacabra, it could have Intimidate or some new signature ability like "Blood Sucker" or "Vampire Fangs". Zolupine is fine, but if they could have a Hidden Ability, maybe something like Prankster or a more dark-based ability.
As for Lupacabra, since Zolupine has the Dark/Water dual typing, it could have a Dark/Fighting typing to make it more even, and because of its bloodsucking personality and ability Guts.

It could (lore wise), maybe be responsible for the abduction of numerous Taurus and Miltanks, and many villagers claim to have seen it, but only GLIMPSES as the Pokémon itself is incredibly speedy. Maybe a Psychic/Steel type? OH! Also, Jack, Claire, Ailish, Nick, Jane! What about...an Avocado Pokémon? Eh? Ehhh? I know it might sound a little funky... but I was thinking that maybe this could be like a regional BOUNSWEET or sumthin...that with the regular avocado for the template of the body, and maybe it’s cute lil face in the middle. Then, it would evolve into a more rough and tumble STEENEE, and finally,
perhaps a Regional evolution! One that can be (maybe), the male counterpart to Tsareena! Anywho, thank you always for your awesome inspiring videos. I myself love to draw, and would love to be a Subjectivist one day! Bleh, sorry, I’m rambling. Anywho, hope to see some great new Fakemon soon!

And maybe its evolution will make it a bit bigger but not too different except its darts turn into poisonous arrows and its blowgun turns into a bow. What about gaining a level close to a water spot, or directly while on water ? It could also evolve by gaining a level while the rest of the team is only composed of water types Pokémon, so that, as your Techuppi knows nothing other than water types, it evolves that way.

These designs are amazing and I really love them! Zolupine is my favorite of the three! I really love how it's face resembles the Aztech jaguar statues. Though I do have to point out that the Chupacabra being canine is a very modern thing. When the Chupacabra was first reported in Puerto Rico in the 90s, it was described as being a small, bipedal, reptilian creature with large eyes and spines running down it's back. The whole canine chupacabra thing only started around the mid 00s when a very bizarre looking canine creature started being reported in Texas and rumors spread that it was the Chupacabra (even though it looked nothing like the original descriptions of the Chupacabra) because it looked so bizarre and reportedly killed some chickens. A corpse was eventually found and stuffed and now the canine variants (furless, emaciated, strange looking canines, most likely poor foxes and coyotes suffering from very bad mange) have become known as the "Texas Chupacabra". A good choice for a Pokemon design, regardless. But I think Sableye is closer in design to the actual South/Central American Chupacabra (even though Sableye is apparently based on the Hopkinsville Goblin creature).

    Regarding the evolution methods:
for the pure dark, level up is probably the best bet, though which level is determinate on balancing and the finding location for the first stage and all that.
for the water dark you can maybe do a location based evolution. if its based off of a water guardian why not consider the Cenotes common in the Yucatan. they are basically huge sinkhole pits filled with water, which are connected to a massive underground cave system, the largest known underwater cave system in the world. So there could be a specific Cenote that will allow it to evolve into the water dark if it levels up inside it.
    Regarding region ideas:
These Cenotes have alot of mythological significance especially to the Yucatec Maya civilization that resided on that peninsula. So maybe it could be the lair of some legendary pokemon based on Mayan myths.
Also there is a high density of Cenotes in that region that near perfectly mark out the rim of the Chicxulub Crater, the impact site for the asteroid that ended the dinosaurs. So that is also an area to play with for mythic stuff and maybe even have another alien pokemon. Maybe thats where the grass starter is commonly found.

I was also thinking location-based for the water type. And perhaps instead of one legendary having a specific cenote as its home, the region's roaming legendaries could circle around them... since new Regis are now a thing that's on the table, potentially water ground and fire type Regis? Though I'm not sure if there's any artificial constructs in Aztec myth... Plus, y'know, I'm sure there's something else that'd fit better for roaming legendaries.

    • @saltenzy449
      @saltenzy449 4 ปีที่แล้ว

i was thinking at first, based on techuppi's description, that it's evolution could be based on friendship levels, but since both of it's evolutions seem about the same temperament, it wouldnt make sense to have them evolve based on liking/disliking the player. i think i would go with techuppi>lupacabra through normal level up, then techuppi>zolupine if it knows a water-type move, or with a water stone, or something like that. really cool designs!

Maybe a Pokémon that is or collects a plant know as agave, a main ingredient in tequila. I know alcohol in Pokémon is more than a stretch, but 1: this is just for fun, and 2: it does have to be based off it, but it doesn’t have to known as alcohol based, Hanse the poison typing. The Pokémon could be a poison/fairy typing due to tequila being a drink for celebrations. it’s name could be tequiltar, the partying or wobbly Pokémon. It’s name comes from tequila (no da) and kilter: to be out of balance, because when your drunk you stumble all over the place swaying side to side like getting a carnival ride were you feel nauseous (just like being heavily drunk).

It would be interesting to see a bug/dragon type that was a swarm of Pokémon, like Argentine ants or some colony species. It always felt odd to me that the only swarm Pokémon was Wishiwashi, made up of fish, when attacking as a colony is basically the modus operandi of a lot of insects, especially ants, bees, and wasps. Maybe something like a first evolution of a dragon head, then a full dragon body, then a 5-headed hydra made of ants? I think it'd be a really cool way to cover the bug/dragon type and a unique idea for the region, if there was an invasive colony species wrecking havoc.

Idea for a poison type with no/1 evolution:
    Pokemon Name: Scalgila
    Typing: Rock/Poison
    The Scaled Lizard Pokemon
This pokemon is based of a gila, a poisonous lizard that is said to be the largest in the northern america, this lizard is said to be a ‘living fossil’ this could mean that it’s a fossil pokemon. However, I believe this lizard will not be a fossil, as they will be commonly found in deserts as they are very scaly and can be mistaken as a rock. Their signature move will be a gas that is used via its mouth, this pokemon will be quite slow but is a mixed attacker, physical and special with great defensive capabilities. This pokemon comes in many patterns and colours and is sometimes used to decorate a garden. If this pokemon were to have an evoloutoin it would likely be steel/poison!

Perhaps for the evolution methods they could evolve depending on where they level up at a certain level. If they're meant to be early game 2 stage pokemon then they should evolve around the mid to high 20s, so 28 maybe? To evolve into Lupacabra it has to level up in an arid desert, and for Zolupine how about a lake or a swampy wetland? As for the Poison type how about the Golden Dart Frog? They're skin is coated in a poison called batrachotoxin which blocks nerve impulses, causing full body paralysis and heart failure. Maybe it could have an ability that gives its Poison type moves a chance to paralyse as well.

For the first pokemon, I think you did an amazing part with both color palettes and the design! It seems simple enough where you could think it'd be an original design. It's so simple you might think it's just a dog, but that's really good at times.
For it's first evolution, I thought it was too big and needed a middle one, but it's sometimes refreshing to break that pattern. From a gameplay aspect it's even super fun. I remember raising small tiny pokemon and then being super shocked and hyped when they suddenly turned into an awesome big guy. The fact that you even managed to incorporate a mythical creature (Chupacabra) as BAT concepts is also EXTREMELY fluid. Bats were very influential in Aztec/Mayan culture and a big part of Mexican culture and heritage too!
As for the last one, I want to point that (I imagine unknowingly) you actually implemented a very key element into the design of this pokemon: Alebrijes. They're little traditional (sometimes fictional) sculptures of animals and the like that are very colorful and at times bizarre. Your design implements concepts (IMO) from them, which shows me that you definetly did your research and understand the culture. VERY good job! I'd love to raise one of these pokemon and have them be my partner for life!
