Hey guys! I just wanted to say that since recording this, I have completely fallen in love with this song. I have listened to it about three times, and every time I do, I get more and more out of it, and NOW I have so much to say about it! When listening to anything for the first time, it is hard to really absorb the entire meaning and feeling of the lyrics and the music. Just like watching a movie for the second time, you see things that you missed. I just wanted to comment on how the raw emotion seems to drip from his voice! Also, how the song builds...and builds.. it really is incredible. I want to hear more of this band, but am waiting to see if anyone suggests a song to me so that I can experience it for the first time in a video. Also, I didn't want to interrupt the song while I was watching it so that I could get the most out of it, feel the song but in the future I will pause the video to comment when I have something to say. Also, my technical skill are evident with the cropping of the performance scene lol I have that fixed now as well so hopefully things will look better from here on out. Thanks for watching guys, and please suggest more awesome songs to me!
I actually prefer seeing a genuine reaction like yours when a person is truly moved. I also appreciate your further analysis. For more Disturbed, take a look at Hold on to Memories, Prayer, and A reason to Fight.
For more songs from Disturbed that will move you try Hold On To Memories, The Light, or their cover of Sting's If I ever Lose My Faith In You, but watch the official videos. If you want to get on the AC/DC train start off with the official version of Thunderstruck.
I just first saw this song in early July 2023. I just can't seem to stop listening to it. It is fantastic. I am 78 years old and remember the very first song in 1964. Disturbed's version is so totally for today in 2023. I can believe how moving this is for me.
I loved your reaction. Thank you for not pausing. I have listened to over 200 reactions to this song and yours is right up their at the top. This song is so powerful and you feel it. This is my all time favorite cover. David Draiman is wonderful and that voice….OMG!
In an interview, Paul Simon (the composer) said that hearing this made him remember what was on his mind when he wrote it. Taking in mind, he was only 22 when he wrote it. He said that it means exactly the same today, as it did then. He also said that this version was the best he had ever heard.
I love that you didn't stop the video. David Draiman is so gifted 😍. I have started listening to more of the music by Disturbed. I am a 74 year old grandmother and I love this group.
As an Australian, there is a particular Aussie singer I think you may enjoy. His name is John farnham. We call him the voice. His rendition of the Beatles song HELP, is awesome. Originally released in 1979, John Lennon said that it was the 1st time he had heard it performed the way he wrote it. John Farnham has many great songs. Help of course, but others such as Burn For You, You're The Voice, Please Don't Ask Me & many others. Worth checking out, in my opinion.
I found your channel when you reacted to Liliac. This is another great reaction. It shows his range, power and versatility. His band Disturbed has some incredible songs to check out.
I am glad you found me but I do cringe a bit when people watch my first reactions LOL I was pretty awkward at it then, but I hope you stick around for future reactions xo
@@AngelDReacts Don’t cringe about your first reactions. They are first for a reason. Celebrate that you have the nerve to put yourself out there. I have contemplated doing reactions for fun, but you took the step. I’m looking forward to your next Liliac reaction. As someone who loved 80’s metal, you will most likely dive down the Liliac rabbit hole because they are 80’s metal reincarnated.
David is a classically trained Jewish Cantor. He was also very sick during this performance & still nailed it. Conan backstage crew even came out to watch this.
Well, Angel, you certainly started your reaction career with a bang. I still get goosebumps every time I hear it. As for pausing, don't be afraid to do so if you really have to make a point. If folks want it unbroken, then can always go to the official video. Lovely, genuine reaction.
Congrats Angel, best choice ever! David really put his heart and soul into this and thank you for not pausing. Truly hope all your reactions are this good!
I think your great It's hard to get everything out of first listen during a song. I listen to a song several times to get it all. Your doing great. Love your reactions
Thank you so much! God, I was so uncomfortable in this one! I am feeling more confident now, didn't take long to warm up to it, but the damn editing is still aggravating me. (and the blocked reactions) Literally spent all day yesterday desperately trying to get one up, messed and fussed with it, then...nope. Blocked again! Then I made and edited another one, uploaded it, nope...blocked again! Lol Good times!! Recording tomorrow though but getting smarter...going to do a few ahead in case. So glad you are enjoying my videos.. I am far from professional at it yet lol xo
@@AngelDReacts are you pausing to talk plenty of times. If it goes uninterrupted too long it gets blocked. Everyone gets blocked so hang in there. Your doing great
Simon and Garfunkle originally performed this piece back in the late 60s. It was written by Paul Simon. Another great oldie you might like is Whiter Shade of Pale by Procal Harum. My advice is try the 60s studio version first, then the later live version. That is if you aren't already familiar with it, being a rock fan. I suggest it because it's much on a par with Sound of Silence.
Great reaction and thank you for letting David Draiman take you on an incredible journey. I might suggest "Reason to Fight" by Disturbed. Another powerful song.
Awe thank you, I am glad you liked it, considering this was my first one and not quite as comfortable in front of the camera as I am now. If you like this type of music, maybe you could check out a couple of my Rammstein reactions... I had never heard of them and now I am a huge fan! Thank you for subbing!
great reaction video! This version of the song never gets boring/old....it always moves the soul in a good way when the vocals and instrumentals come together as one...very cool!
@@AngelDReacts not sure how much you're into The Scorpions or not, but I've been on a big Scorpions kick recently myself... "Still Loving You Live in Moscow 1989" is one of the best songs vocally and musically, and it also is historically beautiful, embraced by youth all over Eastern Europe when they finally first became free from Communism at the end of the 80s...very moving performance.. A more recent Scorpions performance of "In Trance with guest vocalist Cathe" from MTV Unplugged is almost just as good too, and has really strong female vocals. Even if you don't make a reaction video for either, definitely check them out for yourself, my guess is that you'll love the vibe of both. Love these reaction videos, nice to see someone cool appreciating great music,, keep em coming! ✌️
Great first reaction. Disturbed covering this song was a real shock at the time. That they arranged and performed it this way, even more so. A true nouveau classic. Too early to tell what kind of music you are planning to react to, but if it is the full gamut, two other artists/performances that I often recommend along with this song are: Dimash Kudaibergen: Your Love (Moscow). Arguably the greatest vocalist alive today. Marcelito Pomoy: The Prayer, in the Wish Bus Studio. Both serious WTF moments. Maybe some vintage Rock? Queen: Bohemian Rhapsody (Official Video Remastered)? If not already familiar with it.
Hi PJF, and thanks for watching & thank you for the supportive comment! I plan to react to all genres, discover as much that I can... rap, country, as well as rock. I am very familiar with Queen but the first two you named I have not heard of so they will go on the list for reactions!! Thanks again!
Damn girl!!! you've got a new fan!! So beautiful and stunning. Love the ball cap. You did a very good reaction. Thank you for doing this song and keep doing what you're doing. Ready to see you more!!!
Awe, thanks so much! I hope everything gets better with time... these first videos are me learning the ropes, but I so appreciate each and every person that watches and comments., thank you for watching!
Just came across your reaction video and it's an instant 'subscribe' for me! You're such a breath of fresh air compared to so many other reaction channels that go over the top just for the wow effect. You don't need to do that. Your genuine emotions and feelings that came out as you were watching the vid were just wonderful to see. Really hope this channel is a great success for you. Gonna have to go watch EVERYTHING you've recorded now 🤣
You should listen to Henke Porte ( he played the Phantom) sing this song on Beste Zangers (best singers) show ....hes sings it too Floor Jansen ( the lead singer for Nightwish) hes a huge inspiration too Floor . You should also checkout Floor singing on that show ....she does everything from pop to country, opera , salsa, contemporary, you name it she does it .
Excellent job! Great audio, great expression of how you felt. New sub, you are just getting started! This is NOT the usual Disturbed, they are metal and in my top 3 favorite bands. All that said, if you havenot heard it, you should try Ghost Love Score by Nightwish at Wacken 2013. That version. I don't have a link but it should be on the Nightwish channel. It's completely different but I think you will love it. Thanks and good luck
Thanks you so much! I will definitely check that out & I really want to do another Disturbed one as well. I know nothing of the band nor their songs so hoping for a suggestion...hint hint lol
I'm so glad you didn't stop it in order to comment. You waited until the end so you and the rest of us could fully enjoy the song as I have thousands of times since the cover came out. I guess you know it's a cover of a song written in the 1960s by Paul Simon and this cover is far better than the song as it was originally performed by Simon and Garfunkel way back then.
@@AngelDReacts If you listen to original you will discover that the vocal style doesn't go well with the darkness of the lyrics. Paul Simon says it is no longer a Simon and Garfunkel song but is now a disturbed song. This song has been covered by many bands But this is the only one to gain a single comment from the writer. I'm glad you like it too.
Absolutely, start as you mean to go on. Lovely reactions Angel D. Everything you said about listening to music for the first time is absolutely true. Your wonderful journey of discovering amazing music through your reactions is well underway and the very best of luck to you.
Since you like this, softer, gentler side of Disturbed, check out "Hold Onto Memories" .... "A Reason to Fight"..... " Already Gone" ...their cover Stings "If I Ever Lose My Faith In You".... the whole album....EVOLUTION is worth listening to! You should also listen to their song, " The Light"....it has that heavy metal vibe...but it also conveys an excellent message!
Simon wrote an amazing song at such an early age but I believe he was constrained by the times. Compare the lyrics of the two versions, they are word for word identical, then compare the music. I believe Disturbed has closely presented the song in a way Simon imagined it in his head ohh so many decades ago.
Enjoyed ur reaction, this song is a classic, they took it to a new level, IMO. Check out their cover of Sting's If I ever lose my faith in you and also The Light, 2 of my Favs from them. Good luck!
A heavy metal band that catches EVERYONE by surprise, then elevates and owns a song (this song) 50+ years after it was written!! Anyone who hasn't been blown away by this isn't really listening!! No matter what music you like (All Genres) this is superbly done and flawless in every way!! The best cover/song/official video these past 5+ years. \m/ Sorry for being long winded... the below list is "live" performances that any person doing reactions must hear and see (not necessarily react to)!! Hi Angel you should also look at henk poorts version of this song. Henk poort is also doing the phantom of the opera with floor jansen in beste zangers 2019. Greetings Gerry_Grouwe Holland
You're watching the wrong video! The studio version is him, without the sickness he was suffering (he had a cold at the Conan performance- you can hear it in his voice..) It's also a powerful video as made by the studio..
Beautiful reaction, so happy you did not stop and start throughout like other reactionists do. You are looking for suggestions, give "Unchained Melody" by the Righteous Brothers a go. Keep a tissue nearby.
I have listened to this song many times and listened to vocal coaches and a neurologist explaining the mechanics of this and they are only partially correct. This original song by Simon and Garfunkel is NOT a story that was concocted in a studio, it was a psychic vision of the future. Paul Simon wrote this about 1 year after the Kennedy assassination and it bothered him immensely, then was finally able to write the words of what he was seeing What he saw was that we have something called a Constitution in this country that we all enjoyably live with to counter the tyranny that could exist. The very first amendment and one of the most important is our right to free speech. What’s happening now is that this is being eroded, “like a cancer grows”, and that cancer is called CENSORSHIP. Censorship IS “The Sound of Silence. Listen to the song again, then you can feel in your heart what he saw.
Hi, Carolyn! I thought that since you were the first person to comment on my first video, that I would take your suggestion! My next video will be a reaction to my first time hearing exactly what you suggested, and I will record it Saturday, post either Saturday night or Sunday, and hopefully have a posting schedule figured out after that! Thanks again!
Welcome in Angel as a New Reactor....i hope your channel will grow up. Some intresting in Bands and Solo Singer in the world. My personal fav are Acappella Bands and singer with there own channel. Home Free Austin Brown Voiceplay Geoff castellucci Pentatonix or PTX this bands will blow u away. maybe u will be a fan of it
I am very impressed with your first reaction video! I see all kinds of annoying errors when people are new to it....or when people are just annoying. Great work! This is probably one of my favorites to watch reactions. It gave me goosebumps the first hundred times or so that I listened. I would like to suggest "Hurt," Johnny Cash's cover of the Nine Inch Nails song. I love to contrast it with this one, also a cover. They both convey so much emotion, but in very different ways and very different emotions, and they both reinvent the song --dare I say it? --- better than the originals. And that's coming from both a Paul Simon, Simon & Garfunkel, & NIN fan.
Thank you so much! I love this song, and this week I will be reacting to a cover of it by Henk Poort as a precurser to reacting to him & Floor Jansen do Phantom of the Opera as I have never heard him sing yet, I thought it would be a good choice of song as it was my first reaction.
I came across this because I often like to watch reaction videos to songs (and videos) that have really struck me. Let me suggest some of the others that I regularly watch. My tastes are eclectic. For the first three, you should watch the official videos, because they tell even more than the music alone tells. "Monsters" by James Blunt "Hurt" by Johnny Cash (a cover of a Nine Inch Nails song, and the last video Cash ever recorded) "Hallelujah" and "Amazing Grace" by Pentatonix (very wonderful even if you aren't religious - Pentatonix is probably the best acapella group) Anything by my favorite singer/songwriter, Harry Chapin. I know that "Taxi," "Cat's in the Cradle," "W.O.L.D." and "Sequel" are his best know works, but he was a master storyteller, so my favorites would be "A Better Place to Be" and "Corey's Coming."
Well i am glad you happened across my channel, and I hope that you stay! You do have a varied taste musically from what I can tell from your suggestions, and I will definitely check some of those out. Thanks for watching & be sure to come back!
Thank you! Being my first video I hope I get better, and iron out all my technical issues lol I have never heard of Steelheart, and I know none of Queensryche music although have heard of them so yes, I definitely will. thanks for your suggestion and thank you for watching!
If you love this song, and David's version of it you might want to try Henk Port's tribute version of this song. Henk is a professional opera singer who played as the Phantom from the Phantom of The Opera for years
You need to listen to "Down with the Sickness" by Disturbed. It shows the other side of the band. If you want the full impact of the song listen to the studio version and not the live version, which cuts out a very important part of the lyrics
Check out their video too. Even more moving visually. Great music to check out: Queensryche - Take Hold of the Flame -live in Tokyo 1984. Iron Maiden - Hallowed Be Thy Name. Dimash - SOS (classical/pop crossover). (amazing vocals). Good luck w/ your chanel!!
I would like for you to listen to MY FAVORITE song “First time ever I saw your face”. It pulls at the heart strings. Make no mistake, I am a rock and roller. Just check it out and give us your thoughts. It came out in the early 70’s. Or you should listen to a song “The Runaways” by Babe Ruth-First Base. It came out in 1972. This is the best album EVER. Ya got Black Dog, ya got King Kong, ya got The Joker, ya got The Mexican. King Kong is the best music put out. It’s music only, no words just music. It’ll take you up and slam ya down. Wares my ass out listening to it just like Call me the Breeze does. Anyway check it out please.
For me, it was the only one my friend sent me to start my channel. Afterwards I did make a video reacting to the official music video and it got blocked so that maybe that's why... can't speak for anyone else though so unsure why.

I actually prefer seeing a genuine reaction like yours when a person is truly moved. I also appreciate your further analysis. For more Disturbed, take a look at Hold on to Memories, Prayer, and A reason to Fight.
@@laineyb7708 Thank you
You should listen to the studio version just for comparison. You'll probably love that just the same.
For more songs from Disturbed that will move you try Hold On To Memories, The Light, or their cover of Sting's If I ever Lose My Faith In You, but watch the official videos. If you want to get on the AC/DC train start off with the official version of Thunderstruck.
@@philcarey5432 AC/DC is one of my favorite bands lol check out my about section
I love how quiet the audience is until the end. Tells you how much power he has.
THE greatest live performance in music history...PERIOD!!
Peace
probably is the best cover of a song ever.. the studio version official video has almost a BILLION views now.. that is crazy
Yes, that's awesome!! I reacted to it & it got blocked lol It's a masterpiece
In an interview, Paul Simon (the composer) said that hearing this made him remember what was on his mind when he wrote it. Taking in mind, he was only 22 when he wrote it. He said that it means exactly the same today, as it did then. He also said that this version was the best he had ever heard.
I agree with you on this song. I love it when you can feel the song
It's a thing of beauty! Get ready for a religious experience! Moves me to my very soul!
Thanks so much for not pausing during the song - much appreciated!
Good reaction. He has a beautiful voice. Been a fan I think since my teens. But this truly showcased his voice perfectly.
He is so incredible!!
Congrats Angel, best choice ever! David really put his heart and soul into this and thank you for not pausing. Truly hope all your reactions are this good!
Thank you so much, I truly hope they have improved lol I
I think your great
It's hard to get everything out of first listen during a song.
Your doing great
Love this song watched many reactions and yours was great
Thank you for not stopping!
Sounds good, thank you!
Great reaction and thank you for letting David Draiman take you on an incredible journey. I might suggest "Reason to Fight" by Disturbed. Another powerful song.
Great reaction. I love that you let the song play without stopping with comments. You said it with your facial expressions. Thank you:-)
😊 thank you so much, I am glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching!
Just watched this, loved that you let the song play thru. You were great!!!
This was a wonderful reaction. I immediately subscribed after watching this. I hope to see many more reactions from you in the future.
One of the best reaction channels by not pausing
It's always moving to see somebody really get a song like this
I loved it!
✌️
An honest and genuine reaction. Nice!
Now you need to watch the music video version of this song, the visual clips are outstanding. After that take look at "down with the sickness".
I really love your reaction! Luv from Australia 🎼❤️🎼❤️
Great first reaction. Disturbed covering this song was a real shock at the time. That they arranged and performed it this way, even more so. A true nouveau classic.
Too early to tell what kind of music you are planning to react to, but if it is the full gamut, two other artists/performances that I often recommend along with this song are:
Dimash Kudaibergen: Your Love (Moscow).
Best 1st song ever
Nice commentary on one of my favourite sings. awesome lyrics
Thank you so much!
Disturbed singing down with the sickness
great job I look forward to many more of your reactions
Awe, thanks so much! I hope everything gets better with time... these first videos are me learning the ropes, but I so appreciate each and every person that watches and comments., thank you for watching!
song is the best ever . you did good too , well done
Gonna have to go watch EVERYTHING you've recorded now 🤣
Wow, thank you!
First one!!! Good job. Keep it up
Congratulations on reaching 3000 views in such a short time!!! 💝
Thank you so much 😀
You should listen to Henke Porte ( he played the Phantom) sing this song on Beste Zangers (best singers) show ....hes sings it too Floor Jansen ( the lead singer for Nightwish) hes a huge inspiration too Floor .
You should also checkout Floor singing on that show ....she does everything from pop to country, opera , salsa, contemporary, you name it she does it .
Good pick throw in Setting Sun by Nightwish w/ Floor on vocals n you got something
I didn't know it was a cover until I reacted to it. lol
Very nice reaction... great job!
Thank you so much! This was my first video
Great accomplishment.. 5000 views in three weeks!!! 🤑
Absolutely, start as you mean to go on. Lovely reactions Angel D. Everything you said about listening to music for the first time is absolutely true. Your wonderful journey of discovering amazing music through your reactions is well underway and the very best of luck to you.
I enjoyed your reaction!
Thank for watching!
Good luck!
Thanks for watching and I will do that!
I thought it was great. Loved your reaction.
Thank you!

Take a listen to the prayer by Masilito Pomoy. Guarentee you have never heard anything like it. It is beyond beautiful.
Love your reaction. Just subscribed and can't wait to see you react to some of my favorite songs. Glad I was here for the first one
Thank you so much!
Hi Angel you should also look at henk poorts version of this song. Henk poort is also doing the phantom of the opera with floor jansen in beste zangers 2019.
Greetings Gerry_Grouwe Holland
Angel d is gorgeous. What a pretty lady.
Awe thank you
Oh yeah, then check out Disturbed's cover of Land of Confusion. Really good song!
Will do, thank you!
Great reaction. I recommend "Song of women" by The HU
You're watching the wrong video! The studio version is him, without the sickness he was suffering (he had a cold at the Conan performance- you can hear it in his voice..) It's also a powerful video as made by the studio..
Definitely check out Henk Poort’s version from the Dutch TV show Beste Zangers…even better.
Another great cover is Chris Cornell - "Nothing Compares 2 U" (Prince Cover) [Live @ SiriusXM] | Lithium. Be sure to do the SiriusXM performance.
I will definitely check that one out, thanks!
Try their song Hold on to Memories.
Welcome in Angel as a New Reactor....i hope your channel will grow up. Some intresting in Bands and Solo Singer in the world. My personal fav are Acappella Bands and singer with there own channel.
Home Free
Austin Brown
Voiceplay
Geoff castellucci
Pentatonix or PTX
this bands will blow u away. maybe u will be a fan of it
Thanks hun xo
Awesome Achievement!!! 4000 views in first three weeks. 💰💰
Thank you, too bad I was not as comfortable as I am now & my mic was not working properly and I didn't know...learning as I go!
You should check out Hold on to memories by Disturbed
I came across this because I often like to watch reaction videos to songs (and videos) that have really struck me. Let me suggest some of the others that I regularly watch. My tastes are eclectic. For the first three, you should watch the official videos, because they tell even more than the music alone tells.
"Monsters" by James Blunt
"Hurt" by Johnny Cash (a cover of a Nine Inch Nails song, and the last video Cash ever recorded)
"Hallelujah" and "Amazing Grace" by Pentatonix (very wonderful even if you aren't religious - Pentatonix is probably the best acapella group)
Anything by my favorite singer/songwriter, Harry Chapin.
I second your suggestions but what's with all the Pentatonix doing nothing but covers? I dunno. Hallelujah is straight Leonard Cohen in my heart.
Great reaction. 😊 might I suggest reacting to steelheart-she's-gone or I'll never let you go. Or Queensryche Hold On To The Flame live in Tokyo
Thank you! Being my first video I hope I get better, and iron out all my technical issues lol I have never heard of Steelheart, and I know none of Queensryche music although have heard of them so yes, I definitely will. thanks for your suggestion and thank you for watching!
Good luck with your channel.
If you love this song, and David's version of it you might want to try Henk Port's tribute version of this song. Henk is a professional opera singer who played as the Phantom from the Phantom of The Opera for years
Thank you!
Awesome
You need to listen to "Down with the Sickness" by Disturbed. It shows the other side of the band. If you want the full impact of the song listen to the studio version and not the live version, which cuts out a very important part of the lyrics
You should check out Home Free cover of Man of constant sorrow.
You have a good friend. :)
Check out the official video of Johnny Cash “ Hurt”. I hope you’ll love it.
Try out Epica. Santa Terra ft.Floor J. Broken by Seether ft.Amy Lee
If you haven't already done so, I suggest Nightwish Wacken 2013 ANY song
That's tomorrows reaction, finally...someone else suggested that a while ago as well. I've never heard of them until I started the channel.
If you like Simon and Garfunkel Do Disturbed featuring Myles Kennedy
Bad wolves - Zombie
Check out their real stuff, stricken or down with the sickness, you won't regret it xx
listen to Pearl Jam Black unplugged
Please react to Gabriel Henrique Run to you
Thanks for the request! I have not heard of it so sounds like one i should do this week! Thanks for watching!
Hi James, you sings the song First Time I saw you face?
@@AngelDReacts Roberta Flack sings this beautiful song!!
I think you should check out some Linkin Park if you haven't before
Suggest me one?
Why are people always going to the conan version of this. go to the disturbed video.
For me, it was the only one my friend sent me to start my channel. Afterwards I did make a video reacting to the official music video and it got blocked so that maybe that's why... can't speak for anyone else though so unsure why.
nevermind you have..lol
Lol got any more suggestions though?
have you reacted to Nightwish Phantom of the Opera with Tarja as the singer?..btw some great vocal work from Marko (the bass player)
Never react to Korn: Daddy. I'm not kidding it might kill you.
Is that a dare? I take that as a dare, so...on the list! Lol
@@AngelDReacts I warned you you. That song is... have fun.
@@AngelDReacts I'm telling you... I... warned you. It is rough.
