- This month is one where there are a lot of fish spawning across the country. There are some still hanging around down south, lots are starting across the mid part of the country and it won’t be long for some of our northern friends. A wacky worm is a simple rig but picking the right bait for the depth you are fishing is critical. Your presentation of it is too! Slower the better most of the time. Hope you go catch some big ones on the wacky!!!

I fish the boat canals in our RV Park. They are weeds from side to side, and a lot of fish cruise in those canals. So I fish the edges and the center. When they are cruising many times they hit it in the first few seconds. On the edges it takes the technique you just described. Standing on a dock and catching fish after fish is just a blast. Bass, pike, and bowfin, the bowfin. The pike really love bladed jigs. As I tell my son, if it shakes on the end of the line I am happy. Thanks for the tips.

Don't forget about mushroom hunting 👍 this year i tried something different by using a size 2 circle hook on my wacky setup and it works good you just have to remember that the hook is open no weed gaurd so watch where you throw it.

Yes my husband loves watching you fish on TV he loves all the tips that you give out on Facebook we fished lake Cumberland 2 weeks ago and my husband used your techniques and we caught so many small using your techniques we sat on One Bank for 6 hours and caught fish all six hours

I hate to burst any bubbles, but I was taught this technique back in 1975. Used a 6" creme worm, and caught many stringers of bass up to 9lbs in weight. While it works in larger reservoirs, the best results came in farm ponds of still water of shallow to medium depth.

One thing I was wondering, do you put the hook right through the worm, or use the "O" Rings or cross over rings when you fish them wacky style? Thanks again and God Bless you and all your family.

I use the same gear but i use an arsenal clear wacky tube to put my hook through and i never loose a bait or a bass

The wacky rig is one of my go to rigs don't matter if its a senko or a trick worm on it. The rig flat out catches fish
You go weightless?
About 80 percent of the time it's weight less but I have tried the weighted about 1/8 oz
I hate to give up the juice but when they are on the bed my go to is a pink fluke slit it on the top or bottom and slip you a alchaseltzer in it.
